Hey all you talented developers,...
as our SAMOLED Displays suffer from degradation of the organic LED when constantly emmiting bright white or blue,
some of us found here the need of a hideable status bar.
I searched all the internet and all of this forum but couldn´t find such an app.
Is there any app or widget possible which can hide or un-hide the status bar?
Or is there any adb code that hide it and onther adb code that un-hides it??
Any help would be highly welcome.
Somehow ist should be possible.... at least we are on android

1. as far as I know no launcher hides the statusbar permanently
2. even though some (!) apps might support fullscreen the status bar is still there in most apps
Both LauncherPro and Zeam have hideable status bars. See market.
the status bar is only hidden in the launcher
if you open any app e.g. internet or navigation the status bar is back in its place
Try dolphin browser, it has full screen I think

I think the display only suffers from a minor burn-in problem, where the burn in disappears after somewhile.

ADW.Launcher has a hidable status bar. You just flick your finger UP, the status bar hides. Flick it UP again, it returns.
PS : I can fit in 5 rows of icons easily.

Just start any app and zack, back is the statusbar no matter what launcher u use ADW.Launcher, Lauchner.Pro or Zeam
I have status bar burn in, viewable on the screen test blue background.
5 months, low brightness, status bar hidden most of the time using launcher pro.

That's not even a Galaxy S hah, and no burn in here with launcher pro 99% of it's life. I'm not sure how this is viewed, but if someone without a status bar is getting the same thing, it's seems a bit irrelevant in general to blame the status bar?

I accidently thanked you for that post hah wanted to quote it, anyways the reason for that is because it's not possible to replace that yet obviously, nothing integrates all the dynamic info it displays. It's required sorry bud!

My bet is:
-make your notification bar 0-20% black
-set 50%/50%/20% R/G/B color for notification bar font and make icons with blurred edges in the same color
NO way you will get a burn.

There's this spacing in the top notification area which i find it disturbing..

He means that the first notification icon is misplaced. In this case its the sms notification. Never seen that before.
i think i may have found out why. i have 2 notification icons that are hidden. juice defender & clipper. but i can't seem to reenable the icons..

I'm constantly messing about with my phone, anyway after uninstalling both of these mods and back to installing them again, I seem to have lost a setting... somehow...!
These are the only two mods I had so I know the setting I'm looking for is somewhere in these but it seems to have gone!?
It was a setting that made the profile icon (vibrate/mute icon) in the status bar invisible... not just changed it's colour, actually invisible. When having to reboot my phone the icon did come back up but as long as I just did a quick change over of vibrate back to mute or vise versa then it became invisible again.
Pretty pretty please can anyone help tell me where this setting is??? No, I'm not imagining it and yes it does or did exist between one of these two mods.
Happy to try any other stable mod if anyone knows of one that will do the same :-\

GB. StatusBar tweaks/QuickSettings Managment/Statusbar QuickSettings Tiles/Ringer Mode. You should be careful messing about with those 2 mods. They overlap and could have your phone fighting itself if you set the same thing in both mods. It could be a double knock out.:crying:

Don't worry, I only use xblast because gravity box doesn't seem to do the full transparent status bar, I should probably change it to a less bloaty mod!
I followed the settings above but that only changes it when the status bar is expanded doesn't it?

For those of you who like me are annoyed by the AT&T carrier label in the status bar, it seems like the HD Widgets app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cloudtv.hdwidgets) writes over the top of it with it's status bar temp notification. There are probably other apps that do it as well but this is just the one I found to work best. Hope this helps people who are picky like me.

I could be wrong but I think any persistent notification icon will get rid of the at&t. It should only show up when your notification bar is empty. If only I had my S6 I could check for sure!!!!

It's very possible. I just wish you could toggle it off entirely...as if there isn't enough branding all over the device as it is I don't need it in the UI as well
Oh well, other than the battery issues I love this phone so far.

Yes, any persistent notification with an icon for the statusbar will make the AT&T text disappear. I don't believe it will remove the AT&T text from the dropdown though... for that you'd just need to put the phone in AP mode You can watch the statusbar AT&T text disappear by rebooting... it will appear for a second until the persistent notification appears.

You are correct for me my weather app overrides the at&t when screen is un-locked. It does not however when the screen is locked.
Has anyone else experienced the clock or current time and the wifi logo not showing in the staus bar? They were in the status bar when I first got the phone but a day or two later (now) I don't see it. I went through all my settings and nothing. It bothers me so much that I'm going to go back to TMobile and return the S10 for an S10+ for the better battery life and a proper status bar. Anyone experienced that? Did you happen to install QuickStar (from Good Lock)? If so, look under "Visibility of Indicator Icons" to make sure the icons you want are enabled. By default it removes a lot of them as soon as you launch the app
