[Q] Problems with Chrome - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I have a couple of problems with chrome on One that you might be able to help with.
Before I go into that, does anyone know how to transfer my bookmarks from chrome (google) to the stock Android browser?
Chrome problems. Firstly, sometimes when browsing forums, some of the posts come in normal text and some in tiny! That is very frustrating, could it be a bug? Secondly, when I touch the address bar, sometimes it selects all of it (which allows me to go directly into searching something on Google and is awesome) but other times it doesn't, which is annoying. Can this be remedied?

Through the HTC sync app there should be a setting to transfer your bookmarks from the desktop but I think the only way to transfer bookmarks on the device is copy/paste them from chromes internal folder over to the stock browsers internal folder. It's worked for me on past devices so hopefully they didn't change it and a quick search should give you the directories for both.
The forum text size is usually due to settings on that forum, it'll happen in almost any lightweight browser.
The address bar highlight always works for me unless I touch where there isn't text or move my finger during a long press, maybe reinstall chrome to make sure it's the latest version without any bugs?

Thank you for the comprehensive and helpful reply! Do you know a way to automatically sync my bookmarks on the computer (chrome) to the One stock browser? You know, for those 'I'll bookmark to read it later' moments

If you go into Chrome settings on the phone, then click your Google account and just turn everything on.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking to sync my bookmarks at home (Chrome on the laptop) to the HTC One stock browser. Any idea how that could be done guys?

Oh, sorry. Umm... I never tried! If you're signed into Google with Chrome (desktop) is it not in the list of bookmarks somewhere?

how about fully-functioning gmail on kaiser?

I've tried opera mini and opera mobile with no help. I am looking to have full access to my calendar, gAIM, and all those neat little services I can get when I open gmail on my computer.
I've been try to patiently wait for opera mobile 9 but wtf!
and I don't want to involve outlook, IMAP or any other BS "sign up for this" service. I want to load my browser on my Kaiser and see my full calendar (which my wife and I are able to share/edit in real time which rocks), on the go from anywhere...
I don't get it. What services are you looking for exactly? If you wanted to see the GMAIL website exactly as you would on the computer albeit some small differences, logon and select FULL view instead of mobile view on the bottom. Other than that, can you be more specific as to what your looking for?
No, the "FULL" gmail experience in Opera or anything I try does NOT include the gchat list on the left, the gdocument access and absolutely does not load the gcalendar as it looks on my computer. It loaded some cruddy un-editable single page calendar.
I'm sure that this isn't what you are wanting, but thought that I'd throw it out there anyway...
Have you ever tried OggSync? It allows you to sync your calendar with Google Calendar directly. I use it all the time now so that I'm not tied to Outlook. Basically every calendar that I have in Google is sync'd to a category on my Tilt.
As for Google Docs, this page (http://www.google.com/google-d-s/whatsnew.html) claims that you can access them via docs.google.com/m but I haven't tried that yet.
yeah, thanks for the heads up on oggsync but I'm done with "syncing" I've done it in the past and it's a pain, never smooth and NOT real-time, i.e. changes made aren't immediately seen on my wife's calander. The way we keep it now if she adds something to her shared gcalendar I immediately see it on mine and vice versa. With mobile calendar you only get to add, no edit and can't view months at a time easily (or at all?).
Was hoping Opera 9 would fix this.
P.S. I realize these are processor intensive scripts to make g-stuff look so awesome but I think (read: hope) the kaiser should be able to handle it.

Problems accessing iGoogle and gmail on Opera browser

Hello, since a couple of days i've been experiencing problems using iGoogle on my opera browser... The problems started after upgrading my phone from 1.37 rom to 1.93, but they're probably unrelated to the rom.
I can access the google page, but after entering my email and password to login to iGoogle or gmail something strange happens: I am directed to a completely blank page, with 1 word in the top-left of the page "Google". Nothing else. Also, a small icon of a lock appears in the address bar. The address bar displays an url starting with https://.
One time i got an error message saying i had cookies disabled, but when I checked in the Opera settings it was enabled, and i never changed this... so this appears to be a problem with Opera not allowing cookies, since google wants to place a cookie when you log in.
Does someone recognize my problem and know how to solve it?
Some other people have the same problem, see here.
I have the same problem. It started a couple of days ago, and I didn't change any settings. This was before I updated to the 1.93 rom, so I should think it's a problem on googles side, and not with the phone.
I'm still able to access gmail with Internet Explorer (but the light version for mobile phones).
i sorted mine out .solution here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2557072#post2557072
It's a different problem to the one you had coopigeon, and the solution that worked for you doesn't help here.
I think omnivore and jaeger are on the right track that it's an Opera issue in how it's interacting with the gmail servers, perhaps relating to 1.93, or some new settings google are now using??!
It used to work or me, and now it's not working for me (after I upgraded to 1.93) so I'm stuck to using IE for e-mail checking
Yes it's different, because I use a mail account set on IMAP for gmail and that works perfectly... I don't even want to use the browser gmail, cause the WinMobile account stuff is good enough for me.
The problem is indeed related to the way the Opera browser interacts with the google page. I have now tried something:
I typed the entire url in my desktop browser... and voila, there i was on iGoogle. I guess my new diamond is not as shiny as my old desktop pc ;-)
The long url i get when i try to log in on starts with https, which means it's a secure connection, and apparantly Opera can't handle it. Either placing cookies is disabled in the software (although the settings say different), or the browser somehow can't redirect from the https secure page, to the normal http page.
Are there programmers here who can look into this? You'd be a great help, cause I'm addicted to my iGoogle with 10 different news-sites! RSS feeds don't even come close...

sync from chrome to nexus one

I just got the nexus one, was wondering whether it was possible to sync the browsing history and bookmarks from my google chrome browser to my nexus one 2.2. If all my browsing history transferred from my chrome browser to my nexus one it would save me a lot of time.
send to phone

Nothing yet but I'm sure it's in the roadmap. I really want this for my bookmarks too and I can't believe they haven't done it yet.

IE Browsing

Noticing more and more that out side of google or bing search, this phone has some issues with browsing.
For example today was on aol email. every time i scroll over to see something on the page, it would auto slide back to left side? I can scroll down and hold but when i move side to side, it wont stay, then when I would click on emails to view, it would render them as read but not show them to me?
Then tried yahoo just as a test, same problem.
Any one else?
used yahoo mail yesterday without problems. Do you have the browser set to mobile page view?
Er, try using the email client to look at emails instead of the web browser? Just a thought.

not the point, just testing browsing features

Pre-Installed Bookmarks

Anybody know how to edit the system settings that set the default pre-installed bookmarks in the stock browser? I am using Dolphin for Pad and Dolphin HD but neither of them seems to want to play nice on my 8.9 LTE. So I have to use the stock browser a lot of the time and I absolutely hate that they will not allow you to remove the pre-installed bookmarks. What a bunch of morons forcing that kind of stuff on us. Anyway what file or system setting would possibly eradicate these annoying bookmarks?
If i setup sync with google crome, it offers to delete all locally stored bookmarks.

This apparently does not work anymore, http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=63eebdb9d371658d&hl=en&start=40
Is there any way to get rid of these crappy stock bookmarks?
Longpress the bookmark and click delete
I don´t know if it´s a difference in the rom between the LTE version and mine. I have a 3g tab

These are bookmarks that cannot be removed that way, they are carrier forced and protected bookmarks.
Alright. Sorry. Didn´t know. You can see my edit.

Except, of course, that that guy complaining to Google is full of ****. It works. Was working on mine from day 1. And I just factory reset my Tab this morning and set it all up again and it still nukes the AT&T bookmarks just fine when doing a Chrome sync.
Of course, you need to actually have Chrome bookmarks to sync. If you're using Firesux, Suxfari or Exploder, that ain't gonna help.

At that link I provided to a google forum its not one guy, its many many many people.
I have still yet to get bookmarks to sync properly between chrome and my 8.9 LTE.
Bookmark sync works for me, on 4 devices. Some time ago i had problems on GT10.1 but i believe this was a problem with Samsung firmware.
Well I finally managed to get rid of those damn ATT bookmarks.
Tried everything, kies sync, chrome sync, all the other things I found on the web.
The only way I was able to get rid of them was to manually edit the browsers sqlite database with SQLite Editor.
Using that I was able to fully nuke those links!
Yay!

Would you mind outlining the steps you took to edit the db file and where you found it in would love to do the same thing.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using XDA App
My google bookmarks don't sync correctly. It only syncs some of the bookmarks.
