[Q] HELP! I rooted my HTC ONE 801n everything was fine until... - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey you guys what's up!
I unlocked the bootloader on my HTC One via HTC Devs and flashed a custom recovery (CWM) and then flashed Cyanogenmod 10.1 and everything was AMAZING and great I was updating the nighties almost daily and I was having a blast! Then my Google Apps stopped working. They would have a server error repeatedly and I couldnt update my apps on Play store or use G+ or sync my email none of my Gapps were working. So i figured i'd relfash my GAPPS and thats exactly what i did still nothing changed. So I wiped the device and reinstalled Cyanogenmod. In the welcome screen when i sign to Gmail, it gave me the same server error. So I wiped the sd card by accident and now i'm on Recovery but NO ROMS to flash! And because the phone doesn't support an external SD Card, I cannot add the rom again to flash it via recovery! I tried to adb sideload but it wont work the adb installer keeps telling my windows 8 64bit error! Also, I tried to mount the sdcard to copy the rom again and flash it in recovery but it wont mount my computer wont read the phone. It gives me the alert that the phone is connected but i do not get to access the memory to copy a rom to it.
Now I'm stuck with a HTC One that has CWM recovery and no roms to boot. Please please help!
Thanks

This happened to me. With cwm you'll just have to side load a new zip. Use adb sideload ROM.zip this should get you back in business.

Thats what i initially tried to do, when i go to sideload adb the command screen i type in the command but nothing happens on the phone

If you have an OTG cable it will come in handy here. Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstall them

Why would an OTG cable come in handy? I have one but haven't really found any practical uses for it beside hooking up a mouse, keyboard, or sd reader.

after reading my own post, im guessing to to put zip files on an sd card when you cant use adb?

I'm having a similar problem, I can't access the sdcard (or /data directory) and don't have an OTG cable. Any way I can access the /data directory? recoveries keep showing it as 0MB. :/
---
EDIT: Got it fixed. Sideload didn't work on TWRP. I tried using CWM and it froze the computer I was doing it from. I tried again from another computer and I decided to wait a few minutes and it started pushing it. Eventually the rom installed and all is well!
I think the problem occured when trying to install a rom before and recovery rebooted in the middle of the installation which messed up the /data directory. I lost all access to it and ended up wiping it all (prob didn't need to) and sideload fixed it.

boys, i figured it out. I have used a OTG Cable copied the rom to a usb stick and bam! i'm a satisfied customer!

[Q] SD card mounting problem (used search and can't find a fix)

When I plug my phone into my pc via usb on the pc it comes up as unknown device and I can't access the storage it just charges. This worked before just one day it stopped working. So I tried to do the fix by using flashboot but that doesn't work either as it doesn't go into the flashboot usb, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but still no luck. I can't access the sd card through a file manager either it just says it's not mounted or it's plugged into the pc. I've tried to mount it in recovery and it still doesn't work. Any advice would be appreciated I'm desperate at this stage I've tried all the fixes I could find but I can't get any of the zips onto my sd because I can't access it.
PS. I'm pretty lost I've just tried another pc but I still get the same error about it being and unknown device, also when I go into dropbox or anything like that it says that the sd card isnt mounted and I have formatted the sd card from recovery and still no luck should I try it again? or format the whole phone? any help would be amazing thank you in advance!
After trying over and over to see if fastboot would work I restarted my phone like 10times and it worked for a bit I installed twrp and tried to mount but it wouldn't let me again and the fastboot is gone back to not working. I have tried to toggle usb debugging on and off and it hasn't changed it.

idk if it will work but i am releasing a tool tonight with an sdcard fix by anders3408: you could try that when i release or you can flash it in cmd by execting 'fastboot flash zip (filename).zip'
by the way the reason your phone is an unknown device it probly because you have windows 8 or an error on a previous windows, you can fix this by going into device manager and updating the unknown device to 'android'

Windows 8 need a specific way to have adb working. There are plenty of them if you use search or Google.

Thanks man I'll have to check it out tonight when it goes up!.. I don't think i can even use fastboot it just says"fastboot" when it's plugged into my pc and doesn't swap to "fastboot usb" and I'm using windows 7 64 bit and I tried updating to android in device manager but it's not on the list

Any fixes for windows 7 I've tried it on three pcs and it won't detect the device as a phone it just comes up as unknown on all of them and I can't mount in recovery I've tried twrp and fastboot and it just won't mount at all.. would that mean it's bricked? should I wipe the whole phone? I can backup and restore and download apps but I just can't access the sd using anything else.
Anyone have any advice? Is it soft bricked? would it be worth going back to the store even though there is a custom rom on it?
Is there anyway I can reset the sd like I tried in storage settings but it just bugs out and I've wiped it in recovery and still the same. I'm desperate.
Try using my tool, just go to the development section and look for SXL Everything Tool!

Storage problems

Hey guys in recovery currently trying to get a rom transfered over. I can't open the removable disk on my computer for some reason? So i'm stuck in recovery till I can get a ROM on it. Using TWRP btw.
Drivers installed? Does it show up in devices and printers?

You cannot connect to PC as storage device while in recovery, as of yet. You'll have to ADB sideload a rom. I'm assuming you wiped internal memory?
ya no big deal there thats saved me sideloading
Sorry for abandoning my thread. Yeah I sideloaded and got things working.

[Q] One has no SD Card - no mount in recovery - no rom installed

ok, so my phone is screwed.
Been trying touse this thread to recover it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2325853
I have no SD Card, I can not mount SD Card in Recovery.
I have from what I can tell installed the Android SDK and when doing 'adb devices' I get 'error device not found'.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled HTC drivers and sync, does not recognise my phone. Device manager shows my One but can not find any drivers for it.
I have tried the All In One Tool to sideload, does not work, does not reboot to bootloader etc due to drivers not working.
Basically my phone is dead as, what can I do? Take it to HTC, how much would it cost to fix?
Cheers
EDIT: If i reboot system from Recovery it tells me it does not have root, do i want to root it? I say yes and it reboots to splash screen, nothing else
What operating system are you running?
If you're using Windows 8 search for the thread with the windows 8 drivers.
I accidently formatted my SD card while I had no rom installed. It took a while but eventually ADB picked it up and I was able to push the rom to my device using ADB push (I was also getting the "No devices found" message). This was before I found the windows 8 driver thread, it just randomly started working after many resets of both my phone and computer.
What recovery are you using? Do you happen to have a flash drive and a usb otg cable? This is an other option.

that is easy dont panic
1- if the drivers is not installed properly you cant do anything from PC and send it to the device
if you are using Windows 8.1 there is NO drivers for it,
if its Windows 8 there is NO official driver yet but you can install Windows 7 drivers
if its Windows 7 or earlier make sure its installed correctly if you dont know reply to my comment i will tell you anything you want
2- it happned to me too No Root and NO Rom installed, i simply copied the ROM to a USB Stick and using a USB OTG cable ($1) i plugged the cable to the phone and mounted the cable and then installing it from there,
tell me more about what you have and i will help you
Spent a few hours last night working on this with the help of Matt from here
I have CWM Touch (latest) and he was able to fix the driver issue, and we got sideloading working.
Will push the rom to phone, install, start roms splash screen but go no further. Still no SD Card or missing the mount points to show SD Card.
Attempted to S-Off, failed, unsure if CID 11111111 was successful. (Not CID11111111, was HTC_039 now VODAP21 or similar)
I has told/read an article that if you flash a differnt base (eg ICS to JB) that it will replace a script that handles/writes the mount points..
That worth a try but I believe all roms are JB. Any idea of any ICS roms for the One??
I can not find a RUU for 1.29.980.2 to try, only Nandroid Backups that I can not use as no SD..
EDIT: what does a flashing red led mean too? Cheers

[Q] HTC One: Think I've Fudged It :(

Hope this is in the right place.
I formatted my HTC1 like an idiot when I meant to wipe and am a little stuck.
ADB doesn't register on my PC so I can't sideload.
No installed ROM so I can't get into the system.
RUU flashes fail with a (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
Rooted, S-On and I have custom recovery images... TWRP and CWM...
I've tried everything I can think of and everything google can think of...
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
If you know someone with an OTG cable you can load it off a thumbdrive

You should be able to ADB Push a Rom to your phone, then ADB Sideload it. May need to reflash recovery first, I recommend TWRP

The only thing I can think of then is to find an RUU for your phone hopefully. ADB Push/Sideload normally works in your situation. Try a different cable, different USB port, different computer

This guide saved my a$$ too, when I accidentally deleted my system folder. Try a different PC, it works all the time, it will work for you too.
And oh, OTG didn't work for me. I suggest you try a different machine.
humbug got my OTG cable this morning and it appears to work fine... installed Revolution HD 20.1.. tells me install compete and reboots and then brings me to the same blank screen I've been staring at for the last couple of days.
I'm obviously missing something but...

do you have a windows computer?
you most likely just need to install some drivers and then ADB will work.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/74163067/HTC ONE DRIVERS.zip
those are the windows drivers. unzip the folder. open device manager. see here http://i.imgur.com/9LeGRJI.png
right click the "htc one" > "update driver software" > "browse my computer" then select the folder where you extracted the zip to. it will automatically install the correct driver. do the same for "my HTC" or any other devices that appear in those two top-level menus.
Have been through multiple drivers, some of which apparently work but still cant find the device when i try to push or sideload.
Have just done a full wipe and am going to attempt starting again from scratch with TWRP and Revolution HD.
Just to clarify I have tried multiple ports and cables, even bought a new USB 3 card, I don't have access to another PC or Laptop.

Adb doesn't like usb 3, apparently.. Are you sure you're opening the cmd window from inside the adb/fastboot folder?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
sideload is working as I type... it seems flashing recovery as aposed(SP?) to just booting a recovery makes a world of difference, will let you know if the install works. usb3 doesn't seem to be an issue though.
Hussah! It works! Thankyou all for you suggestions and input it has been greatly appreciated!
To flash with adb you need to boot ur phone in recovery mode, not in the bootloader... Took me a while to understand that

Newb done something very stupid, possibly

Hi guys,
First time on XDA, however, I have read a fair bit and like the people
I started playing around with my phone a couple of weeks ago and I installed Cyanogenmod 11 with no problems. I then decided that I wanted to do a clean install to the update that was released a couple of days ago. So, I wipe ALL data. I thought that if I went into fastboot USB that it would allow me to just mount the phone to my computer and put the new ROM on the device. Unfortunately, I'm not able to access the phone anymore through my computer, so I can't load the ROM onto it. Please help >.<

Boot into recovery. You should be able to adb push or adb sideload a Rom. There are lots of guides on it

I can go into recovery, yes. I have teamwin recovery installed. I don't have ANY data on the phone except the recovery software. I can go into ADB sideload, but it just hangs. I should have the drivers installed. When I go into device manager, it shows "android device".
You try sending a small .zip file over adb.. any small flashable .zip just to see if it makes it and loads up?
If it does load up on the device than its prob just the Rom size that's either causing it to hang up or slow transfer speed

Sorry, that was very ambiguous. What I should have said is that the file transfer and in the CMD it says that it was successful, but on the phone it says that it failed. I tried transferring cm-20140609-SNAPSHOT-M7-m7.zip. It comes up with this:
updating partition details...
Starting ADV sideload feature...
installing '/data/media/sideload.zip'...
checking for MD5 file...
skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/data/
Forget sideload. Try adb push

I got it working the problem was the newest update from CM. I changed to the update in May and it worked straight away Kinda sad though because I was going to justify getting a new one because it was dead >.<
Thanks for the help guys
