Of course you dropped this the ONE day I wasn't checking in on the forum! Downloading now. Thanks so much for your hard work!

On first boot (during setup), I'm getting "Internet has stopped working", and I also got "Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has been stopped" when I signed into my Google account, as well as intermittently afterwards. Also, when I switched Bluetooth on, I got "Unfortunately Bluetooth Share has stopped." After a reboot, I'm still seeing the gapps and bluetooth share error. And yes, I did a full wipe before installing, and no, I didn't restore with TiBu or anything.
Sense crashes when I try to do anything with the Bookmarks widget. Weird. EDIT: I fixed it by deleting it quickly before it had a chance to try to load data.
Also, the camera interface is locked in landscape mode and the view screen is small. I'm assuming that's because the camera app is expecting more megapixels?
The previews in the recent apps interface are also sideways.
Other than that, it's running smooth! No lag, or crashes (other than what I already pointed out).

The first portion during setup I'm unsure of because I haven't experienced that. Maybe get a logcat for me please.
Bluetooth FC I have seen just forgot about it.
Camera yes you are correct in all assumptions. I might be able to do something about it.
Recent apps I just noted today. Shouldn't be too hard to fix. Thanks

Just tried that, and the errors persist. I fully wiped everything except my media. It's not a huge issue; everything still functions just fine, it just pops up every once in a while.
EDIT:
Just noticed my button backlights aren't working. Again, not a huge deal, but odd, since I'm pretty sure they were working the first time I installed the ROM.

Aaaaand, I feel stupid. Covering the sensor of course triggered the lights. LOL
I pulled a logcat using aLogcat and put it in the attached txt file. Hopefully I did it right. I can force both of the FCs by launching Internet (I use Chrome anyways).

Also, of minor note, the camera interface can be "unlocked" by tapping the camera icon in the top left corner when in holding the phone vertically (in portrait), though you have to do it every time the camera app is opened.. The camera interface being "locked" to landscape (horizontal) mode doesn't effect the saved orientation of the photos. They save correctly even if you don't "unlock" the interface.

Uploaded V2. Mainly just includes the fix to the LED notifications.

I didn't think I did it right. I'll look up how to properly do it again (its been a long time) when I get home later.
Sent from my HTC first using xda premium

Okay, pulled two more. The first was during one of the "random" gapps errors, the other was Internet crashing along with gapps. Hopefully those worked. Lol

As an aside, you pulled the weather animations (video files), right? I know they take up space, but is there somewhere I can download them?
EDIT:
For the record, V2 fixed the FCs for me. Thanks.

Done factory reset, wipe everything, but I always notice this error: Unfortunately, the process com.android.htcdialer has stopped, if I click ok it returns...

Anybody else have a lot of force closes on FRG83D?

Ever since I updated to FRG83D I have been having a ton of force closes with various apps like: Facebook, the market, browser. As well everything seems a lot slower like bookmarks take a bit to load and Facebook just force closes when I open a picture or freezes.
I also am not being able to unlock my phone due to the touch screen not responding or the display won't turn on at all which requires a battery pull. This occurs sometimes.
Any idea what's causing this? I'm on a fully stock ATT nexus one.

I have exactly the same issues. It's actually the first time I've experienced a "frozen" touchscreen on my N1, and it's happening regularly now.
Just hoping Gingerbread fixes it
Same here with email.apk
Constant freezes or messages that the app stopped responding and whether I want to force close.
Had a few apps that did that so I uninstalled then reinstalled. Seemed to fix it.
I don't have any problem!! I use this rooted complete stock rom FRG83D.
You can try it. http://www.mediafire.com/?bd0ira8h6rdb9jm

Just try resetting to factory default and you should be good to go! Froyo will backup all your apps so once you are back the apps will reinstall on their own. But make sure to backup app data to your SD card if the app has that kind of option (for example launcherpro, adw launcher and card star) has in app backup option. I had some sluggishness with FRG83d but now it seems smooth!

Touchscreen occasionally unresponsive. :(

Hey guys.
I've had this issue with YouTube being unresponsive in portrait mode after going to the main menu after I've watched a video. Hasn't bothered me because I'd just go to landscape to choose the video I wanted.
Today its now gotten worse. After a random xda force close, the shortcut on the homescreen isn't working. Every other shortcut works without issue though. Deleted and re-added the shortcut isn't working. Neither is an uninstall/reinstall. Its also spread to a few other apps.
Anyone encountered this before?
Just a few details:
Overcome 1.4.3 - Hevent upgraded yet, might later to see if the issue continues.
OC 1.4ghz
Nothing strange has happened prior to these random issues (no drops, rom flashes etc)
Sent from inside a whale.
The new xda app did the same to me after it updated itself, so I went to titanium, deleted the new version, then reinstalled the old from backup. No issues since.
Youtube has always had a mind of it's own, whether it's changing orientation, or even playing. Patience is all I can suggest there.
I had a similar problem (somewhat sporadic) and after the overcome 1.6 I don't notice it any more. although it's early days
I'm having similar issues with the keyboard - regardless of the type - stock or purchased - they lag or do not rwspond and all randomly

Have you tried going down to 1.2ghz instead of 1.4? The FC's could be happening when it peaks 1.4ghz and doesn't like it. *shrug*
Only thing similar I've experienced is sometimes the capacitive buttons don't respond, but it's totally random and usually gets fixed if I hit any other button (even one of the other capacitives)
Amiga, is there any chance all your cavorting with gingerbread is a cause?
Its not force closing, it doesn't respond when its in portrait, if I switch to landscape everything is fine.. Really struggling to figure this out. And I've tried going back to stock (dissabling setcpu) and it still happens.
@ranger Who's that reply to?

Better BlurCamera from Atrix

Hi all,
I did not and will not stop searching for a solution for our slow camera.
I read that someone said that the Atrix Camera would work better for the Bionic. So I downloaded the Apk from here (http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php...l-(10-05-2011)&p=149453&viewfull=1#post149453) and changed the camera and camcorder icon to our beloved stock ones.
This Camera Version starts much faster, is focusing faster and seems to be a lot more stable. It also seems that those ugly black flickering is gone in the camcorder too
Please report if you are experiencing the same improvements
Note: Unfortunately this only works with the XT862.
Installation:
1. Rename (or remove) /system/app/BlurCamera.apk and BlurCamera.odex to *.bak
2. Move BlurCamera.apk to /system/app
3. Set the permissions to 644 (-rw-r--r--)
4. Reboot
GoLauncher EX users will find the app icon at the end of the list.
Rename to BlurCamera.apk and move this to /system/app and set the right permissions.
Tested over the XT883 rom and yes, this is definitely an improvement.
Thanks a lot for sharing your findings...

In adb shell, as root/su, type:
Code:
setprop media.stagefright.enable-record false
Or open your build.prop and find that line and change it from this:
Code:
setprop media.stagefright.enable-record=true
To this:
Code:
media.stagefright.enable-record=false
I think thats whats going on.
Not sure what I am doing wrong. Force closes for me. Renamed, set permissions, rebooted, wiped cache. Changed back to original camera.

you need to be rooted, change the name to BlurCamera.apk, place the .apk in /system/app/ , fix permissions, reboot, you may also have to edit the build.prop as per instructions in the earlier post
Followed instructions, rebooted phone and it works just like the original d3 camera, BUT, it starts A LOT FASTER!

No sir, Just switched the apk's.
Any idea why this is force closing on me? Used Root Explorer to rename it, copied it to system/app, set the permissions to the same as the other files in that folder, changed owner to root. Had to reboot, because the camera app was not showing as installed. After reboot, it was back, but it immediately force closes when I launch it. Tried clearing data in app management, also tried wiping cache in recovery.

Really, I tested the camera the whole day today. It really is really fast now. Finally I do love the camera too!
BTW: Would please someone move this thread to General? I posted in the wrong section, sorry!
@jfont25 I think you have to remove (backup) BlurCamera.odex too. I don't know!

i've been working on that, it's been a lingering issue. but on my last 4 boots with install it's been there.
Just loaded it on and everything works as it should. Even put Apex on so now I have either MIUI launcher or stock launcher!
Although I'm having problems with root permission and the keyboard doesn't do as well as correcting like the AOKP ICS build
**Sorry didn't see the post about the SU flash...I'll try that**
Just thought I would put out my findings so far on this version:
Cons:
- After putting on the SU flash it seems to have helped with the root permissions. Root Explorer crashes on me when I open it, it asked for root permission and this FC's.
- The keyboard doesn't recognize words like the typical ICS keyboard does and puts the red line under normal words that you would use. Even changing keyboards it still does it in the messaging apps and things. Not sure if it's a translation thing or what. Like in notes I have "one call for scheduling" for some notes I took and all four of those words have red lines under them.
- Notes and a few other things aren't translated to English, still is in Chinese even though I have English set as the language.
- Autobrightness doesn't seem to work the best, it stays pretty dim after the screen goes off and back on.
Pros:
- Battery life seems to be good but I haven't charged completely to test, I just charged a light charge and has stayed at the battery level for about a hour now and I have used it slightly so it does appear that it's good.
- Not really by your doing but it's nice being able to use the Apex launcher with the MIUI launcher so you could have the vanilla ICS look as well as MIUI look without changing roms.
- Gallery works fine on my end as well as the external music files. Doesn't read the internal but that's already posted I believe.
Hope that's not to long of a post and provides some good feedback, Calendar showed up this time on this flash and everything else seems to be working like it should
Is the fixed ROM a flashover and is there a way to get rid of the "download size requires WI-fi"?
Hey Mark, loving this rom so far. Seems really solid and am looking forward to the next update.
Was the 1x4 miui music widget removed? I'm only seeing the 4x4. Any way to get that back?
Just rembered: the Facebook sync, under accounts and sync, doesn't work. When you choose it, it just returns you to the account list.

If the widget was removed it was because of china, we should see it again soon though. This week they reintroduced their "custom music" app. For facebook sync, ICS removed it, you will need to download an app from market, i use http://tinyurl.com/7snt9sw from market. It syncs all contacts and pictures. Just add account from settings>accounts and sync

New Update is here! Here is how to force pull an OTA update

go to settings, more, application manager, all, and clear data, then stop services for google services framework....then go into system update and update samsung software...... you may have to do that up to 10x with a few restarts in between
also you need to at least have 35% battery
works everytime for me!
if you notice after you clear data and go to system update, it shows that it last checked i 1969......this somehow resets the que and puts you in front of the line
Although this update fixed my red hues during black backgrounds, it added the purple blur/smearing thing when scrolling though quickly...at least we know its a software problem and not hardware
Ok...
I'm going to put this here as I did in the 2 other ota threads.. would someone please grab a log of the link (or grab the download prior to try to install) if they are getting propmted so we can get this to look at?
A bunch of people talking about it, no one trying to get it?
Not sure how. I would be happy to grab the download and get it to someone.

Depends on how people are getting the prompt.. Within the other thread, one of the three anyway, there was this post by a rooted user that had the fail..
This would be ideal because it should have been sitting in /cache (as we've seen on other devices) and it could simply have been pulled.
The only other option (and it will probably not be successful without root but worth a try) would be getting a logcat (running log during process), then forcing the prompt by clearing framework in hopes of catching the download link when the prompt arrives and tapping it. Pull log, inpect it for link and go and get it manually.

Although this update fixed my red hues during black backgrounds, it added the purple blur/smearing thing when scrolling though quickly...at least we know its a software problem and not hardware

go to settings, more, application manager, all, and clear data, then stop services for google services framework....then go into system update and update samsung software...... you may have to do that up to 10x with a few restarts in between
also you need to at least have 35% battery
works everytime for me!

nope...won't mess with anything....you may need to say yes to a few google permission prompts like accessing your location, etc...but nothing gets erased and no other changes

As soon as I turned off developer options, cleared framework data and forced closed it worked. Thank you!
Do we still yet to have a change log? Hoping for some speed improvements, if even small!
Just got a notification system update downloaded, click to install. Am rooted right now if it makes a difference. Have not actually done it though

Another possible method of grabbing files on a non rooted phone is airdroid app. Connect with PC, choose files folder. By default it will go to the SD card but you can back up and get to the phone's system files after a warning screen. If the theory works, just start poking around the file system until you find the update and download it to the computer. You can't edit anything with airdroid but you can grab files at least if you're not rooted. I've never tried this but did see it show the phone's internal files when trying to get to external storage when the default go to folder was internal storage.
Got my update, turned off dev mode, force stopped google services framework, and cleared data.
So much smoother

Great to hear about the black levels. I was about to drive to Best Buy to return the phone right now.
