i relocked my bootloader now so i cant use any nonstock kernel...
But i think , for now, only the stock kernel can make the best use of the 1.67FW
check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42122157&postcount=102
now the stock kernel can make the ram be used over 90%, and wont kill the background apps
a stock kernel with dual recoverys has been created.

If its deodexed its probably already rooted.
I wouldn't see the point in deodexing without rooting in the kitchen.

[Q] Can bootloader be unlocked with GDX v025?

I read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957
but i don't have the stock ROM, and was wondering if i can unlock the bootloader on GDX v025. I have a W8 with 11W20 and i plan on installing MiniCM9. Also, i read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432
What does he mean about flashing it to Gingerbread ROMs? I'd appreciate the help.
And is getting the stock ROM as simple as downloading it and then flashing it with CWM? and will i need to update it to the latest basebands or is there one already updates that's available?
Thanks

It's is highly advisable to be on stock ROM. Just flash it via PCC/SEUS. Why this is required , I don't know. But always people recommend unlocking on stock ROM. I too would therefore recommend the same. Get back to stock ROM
Don't risk it by unlocking on GDx v025
What he means that the kernel is meant for ICS ROMS only and is NOT meant for GB or stock ROMS
Another thing
So...
1) Flash Stock Rom using SEUS (will this be the one with the latest baseband and will my phone still be rooted?)
2) Unlock Bootloader while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957)
3) Flash ICS kernel while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432)
4) Flash MiniCM9 (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575094)
Am i right?
Also, is it necessary to install all to Google Apps which nAa has provided a link to?
And where does the currently rooted state of my phone lie in all of this?
Thanks

Not sure about SEUS , but if you use PCC , your phone gets unrooted.
I guess both ways, you have to root again. But that's not a cumbersome task. Just use superoneclick and then place xrecovery files in /system/bin
Just make sure that after flashing the kernel , you flash the ROM directly after it. If you reboot your phone after flashing the kernel , you will encounter a soft brick.
It is not necessary , but recommended. I would suggest that you flash Gapps (Google Apps) , and then manually remove the applications you do not want by using apps like "Root Uninstaller" from the Play Store.
I did not understand your last question.
I am 99.999% sure of what all I told you is correct. However , since I have a locked bootloader , I might have missed somewhere (I'm sure I have not though)
I unlocked my 11w18 with GDX , no problems

[STOCK][ROOTED][9.1.A.1.145][T]Official Firmware - Odexed & Deodexed[25/7/13]

The latest firmware 9.1.A.1.145 was made available in an FTF file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43934312&postcount=26
All I have done is use dsixdas kitchen to make it into a flashable zip for people who want to stay 100% but with root.
Note:
- This does not include the CWM for locked bootloaders so you must flash that after this, download here
- There is both Odexed and Deodexed, chose wisely
- Busybox is installed
- If you forget to install the kernel you will constantly be getting a 9.1.A.1.145 update notification, this is because the software is up to date but the kernel will not be and is reading the version from that.
- It is orange branded, but there is root so just remove the apps you don't want and choose the 'Xperia' theme to get the unbranded look and feel
Installation:
Note: This is for locked bootloaders, if you are on an unlocked bootloader I trust you are smart enough to know what to do.
Step 1 - Download both the kernel and the ROM (chose either odex or deodex version)
Step 2 - Copy the ROM and Kernel to your phone
Step 3a - A wipe is recommended but could but skipped, this is up to you, but if problems occur, deal with it.
Step 3b - Flash the ROM in CWM recovery
Step 4 - Flash the Kernel in CWM recovery
Step 5 - Flash the CWM for locked bootloaders
Step 6 - Reboot
Step 7 - Profit!

Will download from the new links once there up. going to take nearly an hour on the links you have now :silly:
I've got a deodexed version now as well for those who'd prefer that.
I'll upload both to android file sharing tomorrow and leave the deposit files as a mirror, but I need to go to bed now so if you can bear the slow download go for it, or wait til tomorrow (I'll start the upload in the morning)
At the image, the baseband seems to be .56, but mine is .51
I have reflashed only baseband using .145 FTF file, put it's still .51 baseband.
How do you got .56 baseband?
AndroidFileSharing.com Mirror coming soon
The mirror will be up in about 3 minutes!
Edit: I guess it was a fast 3 minutes!

I wouldn't worry too much about that, afaik baseband is often region specific so it doesn't really matter what number you have as long as it works. the high number isn't necessarily a higher version as such

Flashtool, not fastboot. It works fine on locked bootloaders. I have a locked bootloader and tested this all last night
So first flash firmware ftf, then kernal ftf?
Anything to take care of?
Mirror possible for kernel?
Thx for your patience

I'll mirror the kernel to androidfilesharing once the deodexed version has finished uploading.
boot into cwm recovery, flash this, flash cwm for locked bootloaders, power off, boot into flashmode, flash the kernel ftf, reboot.
I'll add these instructions to the OP once uploading is all done so it's clearer for everyone
Deodexed version is up:

If you are following the guide, the custom kernel was intended to give you an access to a recovery. Once you flashed the ROM zip the custom kernel will be gone and you will be running the kernel that was packaged with the custom ROM that you have chose to flash.
