Issues in vibracall - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
have a razr that stopped vibratin.
vibrating sometimes yes and sometimes no.
Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks

In assuming that your notification settings in calls, messages, email etc. are all set to vibrate when notified, is it hit-and-miss that your phone vibrates with the speaker on or is it just when you are using it in one of the silent modes?
I only ask because when I first got my RAZR it took me a while to figure out that in the silent modes it will only vibrate when it is actually set to “Vibrate” mode itself and not when in “Mute”, so it’s just a thought that you are not sometimes setting it inadvertently to “Mute” by mistake.
As an aside I use an app called “Vibration Notifier” from the Play Store. Essentially if you miss a message, email, call etc. you can set it to vibrate a pre-determined number of times to alert you to missed notifications. So for example, you can set it to vibrate every minute (or any other number of minutes you specify) up to a specified number of times until you turn the screen on. You can also set the length of the vibration which I find a Godsend as I find the RAZR’s default vibration pretty weedy, and you can also customise it to notify you of any other apps you may have which have a notification feature.

Thanks for help, but my phone is in vibration status... Sometimes vibration work and a feel time before, dont work more

captivate notification issue, anyone?

Okay so I just noticed, when the phone is off and your received calls.. When you power it on, it doesn't tell you that you've missed a call or gotten a text.. Maybe bc im using tmobile?

I wouldn't expect it to tell you of a missed call unless they leave a voice mail and then you should get the notification about that but text messages should show up as normal when you switch the phone back on.
Oh that's dumb.. I usually got a message that says I missed calls on other phones.. Thanks though.

you should be getting a notification for a missed call on your notification bar. the symbol for it is a red check mark. Are you using a task killer? Task killers really screw up notifications on this phone. (even when used correctly)

Even when the phone is off? If the display is off yeah but I wouldn't expect it for missed calls when the phone is actually off.
if u mean screen off/sleep mode, u should get notifications. but if u say phone turned off completely, i won't expect it to show missed calls, unless the callers leaves some voicemail.
If u use ATK to auto kill tasks, make sure to exclude all system/phone related processes. That could be the culprit that auto clears ur notifications.
I have not had any phone that ever showed me missed calls when the phone was off (powered off). If it is asleep, then you should have a notification in the notification bar - the phone has to ring (audibly or visually) - so if the phone is out of service area, you won't get a missed call alert either.

[Q] 'Incoming Call' Vibration instead of 'Notification' Vibration

Hi all, I have just got my Galaxy Note from South East Asia. I just want to check whether this is a bug or everyone else's gnote is doing the same thing.
Like the title says, When I received a text message, gtalk notifications, whatsapp notifications, gmail notifications or any other notifications, the vibrations that is coming from the phone is the 'Incoming Call' Vibration instead of 'Notification' Vibration. The 'Incoming Call' Vibration is the long buzz and the 'Notification' Vibration is the 2x short buzz. So when I am chatting with multiple people, I get multiple long buzzes, this is driving me crazy, not just that, this is draining my battery as well..
I hope someone can help me, I want and need the vibration, but I just want the 2x short buzz..
p.s. I have played around with the settings with every single apps and the phone settings, but nothing seems to fix it. I have also done a hard reset, problem still there.
Is anyone else having this problem? If this is normal, then is there any apps or anything that can change this? Thank you in advance for any input..
Can anyone just let me know what are their notifications vibrate and the incoming call vibrate? I just want to know whether mine is acting normal or not? could some help me in replying please?
this is common even my phone vibrates long.. try keeping a short tone like single beep or something. This may reduce the duration.
U can actually set different vibration intensities for incoming calls, notification and haptic feedback ...what i did was to reduce notification and haptic feedback to zero so that my phone only vibrates for incoming calls. go to settings/sound/vibration intensity.

the problem here is that the vibrate that I receive for incoming calls & notifications (sms, email, etc) are the same. when setting my phone on vibrate and when I have it on silent, I cant tell the difference whether it is incoming calls or just a sms text when I have the phone in my pocket. this makes me to respond quickly to my phone whenever it vibrates, because i use my phone as business use, since I thought those vibrates are incoming calls.
thanks to you both for the reply.

Upgraded to 4.0.4, Galaxy Note vibrating when it shouldn't!

Hello there, I was wondering if anyone could help with an odd issue my phone has developed?
I have a German Note, sim-free, using it in the UK, not flashed, just running stock 4.0.4.
I updated OTA the other day to 4.0.4, and all was going well until I noticed this odd bug:
Previously, when the volume was reduced all the way down on the ringer it would put the phone into vibrate mode (when it would vibrate for notifications) and one more press of the volume rocker would put it into silent (no sound OR vibration).
Now, when the phone is in silent mode (so it shouldn't ring or vibrate) it vibrates for email notifications (via the native app) and other notifications e.g. words with friends, but it doesn't vibrate for SMS and phonecalls. I've tried changing the individual email settings for vibrate (but it doesn't help, plus I shouldn't really have to!)
Anyone having the same problem or get any ideas? Any help is appreciated!!
Anyone have any ideas?
Isn't there a setting for this?
Vibrate "Always" "Only in Silent" "Never" or something like this.. Possible it was configured differently before you upgraded...

Nope, tried changing it to every setting and it still vibrates when the phone is in silent (not just vibrate only mode).
What makes me think it's a bug is that words with friends also makes the phone vibrate in silent mode.
Open Dialer
Open settings by pressing the left menu button and in vibrate check never instead of only in silent or always..

No vibration in Whatsapp when sound is on.

My phone does not vibrate when I receive a whatsapp message.
Vibrating function is tested and it is working, so no hardware defect. Also I turned on vibrate in whatsapp notifications.
If I put my phone to silent, Whatsapp does vibrate... Very strange, I always had it working on my Xperia S.
Anyone else with this problem?
I actually need what happens to you ! I use sound only to save battery and it vibrates anyway
So far I noticed that this happens if vibrate is set to default
try using short/long vibrate in whatsapp settings
if I set to short ,which I prefer than my Default's, I get sound and vibration
Go to whatsapp settings and put vibrate to long.

Tnx !

Weird vibration?

I've noticed that my texts I get 2 short vibrates however for other notifications like Facebook, I get a long vibrate. Shouldn't it be the other way around? You can never even feel a text vibrate go off... I know on my note 2 and s3 it wasn't like this.
Also, even though I have vibrate turned off in most apps when they show a notification they still vibrate. What's with that? I had the same problem with the s4 when I first got it.

I've gotten the 2 short vibrates on texts for the S3, S4, and now Note 3. However, I am not sure about Facebook as I do not use that app. If you go to Settings > Device > Sound, you can change the vibration intensity for calls, notifications, and haptic feedback.

Thanks but it's not the intensity that I'm talking about. The vibration pattern just seems backwards or weird to me coming from the note 2. Basically every app gives a long vibrate except for texts which is kinda backwards.

Am I the only one who is having this issue? I don't think it's normal to receive a vibration every time I get a notification even if I have it turned off in the app settings.

Do you have your phone muted, but with vibration enabled? I've seen unexpected vibrations on my phone in that case - I think it may just replace any noise with vibration.
