Xperia SP battery drain in flight mode - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all
Try many many times finding battery drain in flight mode when I am using 3G and turn on flight mode directly then go sleep.
Everytime drains battery over 10% when overnight. Anyone has the same problem???
If I am using WIFI and turn on flight mode directly then it goes fine.(2% drains overnight)

3G/2G data drains battery better than WIFI! and wifi consumes less battery and so is the drain! and the drain even in flight mode might be due the the Android OS and may also be coz the 3rd part apps!

Better u try Stamina Mod Bro.. It will help during night sleep...

I had the same issue, that over night in flight mode my SP battery lost nearly 20 %. Happend only two times.
Don't know why it stopped...
Now my battery drain in flight mode over night is around 8%-10%...from my point of view that's too much

of course. 2% is normal.

Has anyone else this problem? Or a solution?
Perhaps I have to return it and get a new one...

It's a software problem. If you use BetterBatteryStat. you will see alarmmanager is always be triger by Facebook/Line/or some app.
that's why battery drain.

Hey,
Thanks for your answer.
Where exactly can I see this in betterbatterystats? So it's no hardware problem?

here. I do not think it's an issue of hardware.

bluetooth, wifi, data, gps, auto sync all OFF
rooted, only bbs installed

Stamina Mode - Not shutting off persistent apps?

Hi all,
I have Stamina Mode active on my Z however it doesn't seem to be doing a good job of stopping persistent apps that keep the device awake even when the screen is off.....
Is there a method to force stop them without uninstalling the apps?
It's really draining my battery.

Have you tried one of the battery calibration apps in the Play store? You will get some people who suggest they make no difference, but every time I've used one, I had improved battery life (or at least the reporting of the reduction in power has improved).
TenkuuHenshin
i try 1-2 time, so i try to delete batterystats.bin always when my battery will be full and we will see
Try an app called smarter wifi. It is an app that will power your wifi on and off by a set schedule.

help required! battery draining drastically! save my z1

Can someone help me figure out where and why my battery is draining! I have tried everything yet can't figure out a way to reduce the drains. There is no change in estimated battery time on activating stamina mode and then stamina mode along with low power mode. Right now, against 64% battery it says 15 hours remaining. This is very bad. On deactivating both battery saving modes,i have only 5 hours of back up. What to do! I have attached battery usage statistics if that helps.

If you have just updated to the KK version wait a day or 2 for the battery calibration that can cause that.
Most of times it's due to 3rd app not updated to the KK version that ruins the battery when that try to access to the SDCard.
I've had exactly same problem and i thank really much gregbradley for the solution. I've revoked the SDCard write permissions (it's this case by default) i can't write to it but i haven't anymore the battery drain and overheating problem.
So if you have used the fix to have writing permission to your SDCard then you have the solution.
Looks pretty good

Did you charge in between? 1 day plus and still 63% is very good, if you have not charged in between. Regarding the prediction about 15 hours for 63%, take it with a pinch of salt. Check the actuals and see if it really is 15 hrs. Then we can check what is draining the battery. I think if you use it the same way, I see no reason why it should not come for another day..Currently there seems to be no reason for any alarm.
Just my opinion.

I did charge in between hence my problem. One more thing i noticed was that on switching off stamina mode and switching on low battery mode at the same 63% shows just 4 hours of battery backup. Whats up with that! Thinking about factory reset. Any suggestions?

Battery Drain While Powered Off

My Note 5 (SM-N920I) has poor battery life and after reading the threads on here I assumed that there could be many courses however after resetting my phone I left it turned off for 24h and it dropped 20% battery. I always turn on flight mode at night to and over 8h it will loose 15-20% battery. Does it sound like the battery is defective or am I missing something?
Please help

Do you have root? If you do then use amplify to stop some of the wakelocks and set CPU to change the CPU speed to the lowest when your device screen is off.

Thanks, I don't have root and it is loosing battery when the phone is switched off not just screen off. Surely it shouldn't be losing battery then.

Ohh ok I understand you now then sorry I am not sure how to help you then. But all I can say it happened with my galaxy s2 when I use to use it ;(

phone hardly ever goes into deepsleep

As the screenshot, my phone hardly ever goes into deep sleep, I have accubattery installed and I installed better battery stats to check for any unusual wakelocks but everything seems normal.
Settings :
Bluetooth always on connected to mi band
GPS always on but I hardly ever use it as the ss shows
Connected to wifi most of the time.

Is AOD on? I've had AOD on and the device never slept last night. It was only last night that I thought of measuring the drain overnight as I've been noticing an abnormal standby drain. In eight hours of sleep, my phone "slept" for only 14 mins. Tonigt I'll test the standby drain with AOD turned off and report back

Well AOD turns off at midnight automatically, so I'm pretty sure it's not the reason.

Try to turn on airplane mode while sleeping, that fixed the issue for me.
The phone for some reason is awake searching for networks

Well XiaomiEU ROM works good for the battery despite having some weird small UI bugs. Phone is sleeping now. I still prefer having a locked bootloader and an encrypted device, but battery is on a higher priority than that.
