[Q] "Contacts" is not registering "GOOGLE Accounts" - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, hope all is good
I just flashed "Ultimate N7000 LT4 JB 4.1.2 v6" on my n7000, everything seems fine except my contacts are not showing!
While trying to fix the issue, I noticed that the "Contacts app" is not registering the "GOOGLE Accounts" - Any help??
What i tried:
01. [Settings>Accounts>Google>[email protected]>] Checked if my contacts are set to sync, they were. (unchecked, synced, then checked again...)
02. [Settings>Accounts>Google>[email protected]>] Remove my Google account then adding it again. Even tried adding a different account.
03. Removing my Google account, then adding it through [Contacts>Accounts>Add Account] and here is when i noticed, accounts are NOT getting registered in the Contacts app.
04. Tried another contacts manager (Contacts+), same issue. I went back to [Contacts>Accounts>Add Account] and here i noticed ONLY GOOGLE accounts are not registering in contacts - the Contacts+, Facebook, whatsapp accounts got registered and their contacts show!
05. I even tried reflashing the ROM with another GAPPS verion, it didn't solve the problem.
06. I flashed the Older ROM "Ultimate_N7000_LSZ_JB_4.1.2_v5.2" it has the same probelm
07. Flashed the even older ROM "Ultimate_N7000_LSZ_JB_4.1.2_v5.1" it doesn't have that problem!
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mate such problems are common with ROMs under development, PM the ROM developer about this issue and he will iron out the flaw in the update...this is very common with ROMs in their development phase. Hit thanks if i helped

if you are not running a firewall app then try deleting cache and dalvik from recovery on safe kernel.
or via setting>apps, last tab clear data/cache from contacts, Google framework etc.
or update gmail app and see if it is fixed.
just guessing here.
you didnt reinstall any backups btw?
another thing you can check is logcat, clear logs, try sync and then check log for errors.

Google account not showing in Contacts
Did this ever get solved? I have the same problem on a new Cubot GT72. They appear to have succeeded in cramming 4.2.2 into the small memory of this phone, everything works fine, except that in contacts, my google account is simply not showing. When I go to Accounts in the stock Contacts app, all I get is a Sync menu -- I cannot select the account, like I can on my other Android devices.
Likewise under Settings / Accounts / <my google account> / Sync, I cannot select Touch to sync Contacts (there is only App Dataz (which does not sync the contacts, I tested), Gmail (I installed it hoping it would help) and People Details (which are not contacts either).

Calendar doesn't sync all Google Calendars

Hi Guys,
I have some strange Problems syncing my Google Calendars.
It shows my Default Calendar and syncs it, but all other calendars i have are not visible in Android 2.2's Calendar App --> Means that its not possible to sync them.
Once it worked by resetting the device to factory defaults - then it showed up all calendars. But that can't be the truth, resetting MY DEVICE to sync a stupid calendar?????.
I don't want to loose all my data and settings (of course i know that i can do backups etc...)
What i tried it:
-Deleting Dalvik Cache
-Deleting normal Cache
-Removing Calendarstorage
...but nothing worked. Just the default Calendar and no other...
Does anybody have a tipp for me how to FORCE google Calendar to sync all Calendars, is there a file i need to edit or someshing else? Maybe a fix from the market?.
I tried also to remove the google Account from Android but that was not possible in Android 2.2. I guess in it worked in Android 2.1....really strange!
Regards
What I did when shared calendars weren't showing up was to go to settings->application->calendar storage and do a 'clear data' and 'force stop'. Repeat for calendar app as well.
Next time it synced it showed the other calendars.
And yeah, I noticed too that you can't delete the account anymore due to it being used blabla
Are there any other fixes or workarounds to try, I've noticed I'm getting this problem too? It's probably been there a while, but it's only now I've updated one of my other calendars.
I've tried clearing data, forcing a stop, or rebooting, but nothing seems to work.
Curiously, although only "My Calendar" and the default Google calendar appear for selection in the default calendar app, all the other calendars (whether they're personal Google calendars or public ones like "UK Holidays") appear for selection to display in a few third-party apps I've tried. Unfortunately, all these apps seem to use the actual calendar data, so even if the other calendars are selected, nothing is displayed because the stock app won't sync.

I've got the exactly same problem. I am using Froyo 2.2.1 and tried clearing data, forcing stops, reboots, format cache partition...and nothing. I can select the other calendars in Smooth Calendar widget and Touch Calendar (although they dont show the events on the calendar) But I cant see them in Android Agenda widget and in Stock Calendar app.
This is really frustrating. Is it really that hard to make those small things work? Please help!
I'm using the Smooth Calendar app and have the same problem. (complicated by needing to use a VPN because of where I live). I'm also using eM Client for the calendar on the PC. Here is what I did:
1) checked on line to see if google calendar synced ok - It was ok
2) Installed Google calendar app on my phone - checked to see if it was sync'd - it was NOT
3) In Smooth Calendar select config. Under the heading "Application" | Calendar application: Select which calendar application to use > (selected "Calendar" which is google's android calendar)
4) Went back to google calendar on the phone and press the three vertical dots and then selected refresh
5) Went back to Smooth Calendar and selected refresh - all is well now
(I don't know if I'll need to do so much in the future)

I just realized that there are two "refreshes" in Smooth Calendar. Ones is visible when you press on the display. The other is when you choose "calendar" and you are actually seeing google's calendar at that point. Choose the three vertical dots and refresh there !!!

[Q] Facebook contacts won't sync

Guys contacts from facebook accounts won't sync but calendar syncs flawlessly. Other account would sync too. Can't contact facebook since there's no way to get to them. Did anyone ever come across this issue. Is there any possible solution to it?
I'm having the the same problem. Anyone? I'm on JVK Darky's RC4 if that helps.
I had this problem, but a while ago, while I was on stock rom. I had to delete de FB account from Acc/Sync, re-install FB for Android and let the app add the sync account. There's a small difference between the Facebook Sync account that is manually added or the Facebook Sync account that the app adds itself. You can even see a small difference in the icons (Account & Sync).
Hope this helps further ...
Facebook Contacts Won't Sync?
Don't know if you're still interested in the fix for this, but you'll need to go to facebook.com using any browser (don't need your phone for this), go into your security settings.
On the bottom left, you'll see a link for "Apps and websites: edit your settings," click on this and then edit the settings for "Apps you use."
Delete "Samsung Mobile."
You can log out now as you won't need to do anything else at facebook.
Now go into your phone and delete your integrated facebook account (if you haven't already).
Create a new integrated facebook account as you usually would. If you don't sync the first time, reboot and try again.
It has nothing to do with deleting the actual app. There are two Facebook services on the Android as Orvo has said, you can notice the difference in them by looking at the icons. Only one of them lets you sync contacts to your phone, if the first doesn't try, try the other. One of them works.
I had the same problem i fixed it by reflashing the whole rom with a full wipe.
Hope it helps..

Android 2.3.6 [BR] Facebook contacts sync bug

Hi, XDAers!
I updated my MM2 to Stock Android 2.3.6 and everything was working as well...
But I think I found a little bug in facebook (apk) contacts sync:
I just installed the app via Market and logged in, but for my surprise it doesn't show in Accounts > Other Accounts (as Twitter or even LinkeIn does) and sync is not working. (PS. not the Motoblur thing).
I tryed reinstall facebook app, reflash sbf, wipe data, restore factory defaults, santeria...
No success!
And there's no option in facebook app settings like in 2.2
Someone else can confir this bug, or is just me?
Well, yesterday I noticed the Facebook icon was shown in Accounts > Other Accounts, but when I clicked it, nothing happened... Thought it was a bug of Blur, so I took wipe data / factory reset and created a new Blur account.
Now, I noticed the icon is there and working (I've tested it)
Thank you for post it... I'll set up Facebook contacts from Facebook app instead from Blur (it has a lot of sync bugs)
--------------------------------------
EDIT: seems that there is no way to sync Facebook contacts using Facebook's own application. seems that the only function of the Facebook icon in Accounts > Other Accounts is just log into Facebook application. the only way to perform this task seems to be using the MOTOBlur.
Use Contact Sync For Facebook, is the best for me! If you talk about the same app sorry...
But there 2 apps Facebook Contact Sync and Contact Sync for Facebook, the second choice is best, but didn't have the options to sync automatically

[Q] [Help] Google Calendar sync broken

I can't get Google calendar to sync on my D415. I don't see anything under "Calendars to display" and "Calendars to sync" stays at loading forever when I push it. Same when I try to add an event. In Settings > Accounts and Sync it has a sync error for my Google account, but Calendar isn't even in the list and everything else looks like it sync'ed okay.
I have tried re-installing Calender, wiping data for Calendar and Calendar Storage (with Titanium Backup), removing and adding my Google account, factory reset, but nothing worked.
Phone is stock atm, and rooted. Anybody have any tips what else I could try (aside from flashing a new ROM )?
My calendar also is not syncing. I'm in CM11 in my D410hn

Google Contacts Sync

Anyone else having trouble syncing contacts through google? I am on MIUI 9.6 China ROM, and I have installed the Google Contacts app and Google Contacts Sync from APKMirror (August 7th Version). Currently, when I try to restore contacts, it says that "No contacts are backed up to this account." However, when I go to Google.contacts.com, I can see all my contacts. Is the restore within the Google Contacts app searching a different location for the contacts? Thank you.
delete the gapps you installed manually and try the GoogleInstaller_V3.apk, for me contact sync and everything google related is working fine.

Is that the one that comes from the Mi Store when you search "Google"? I tried that one, but it didn't have contact sync.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850489460
i used this and it included google contacts sync app (and its working fine)
install everything (except playstore), playstore just download, decline install - reboot - install missing playstore.
Are you already install Google contacts too from play store? If not try to install it then turn on the sync
Had this problem as well, but fixed it. Make sure to set permissions for both the Google Contacts app as well as the Google Contacts Sync app.
This is the step to sync contacts from Google account to phone.
1.Open your device's Settings app .
2.Tap Cloud and Accounts.
3.Tap Accounts.
4.Select Google (If you have more than one account on your device, tap the one you want.
5.See if the option to sync contacts is enabled.
key here is to go to the App settings, and make sure all the permissions for Google Contacts Sync are checked, also change Battery to No Restrictions
What finally worked for me was to follow the instructions to download Googleinstallerv03.apk mentioned above... but when going into Account -> Google Account there was no "Contacts" setting...
BUT I went into Xiaomi's Contacts app and in there I chose to sync contacts from a mail account. Gmail was one of the options. I had to sign in again and now I have The Google account and a IMAP/POP3 account pointing to the same mail but it was able to sync all the contacts AND in Settings -> Account -> Google Account now it says "Contacts" and it syncs correctly..
So that worked for me on a Xiaomi Mi CC9 bought in China with the Chinese stable ROM
I couldn't get this working on my Redmi K20 Pro...
I used the Contacts app's bluetooth import feature instead.
I faced to that before, I think you need to make sure you installed a right google service. I found some time the google installer install a wrong google service, you may try to fix the problem by re-install the google service. hope it help!
You can also restore contacts from device directly.
Step 1: Enter the "Settings" on the device.
Step 2. Choose "Accounts & Sync" under the "Settings" section and elect the "Add account" option.
Step 3. Tap "Google" from the list and then follow the prompts to proceed to the next step.
