Silent Camera for IZS - LG Optimus Black

The title says everything, Its the .apk file taken from the fabulous Huexxx IZS v1 and v1.1, where I modified the files to remove some sounds.
You just need to go with a file explorer with root permision to /system/app and replace the file CameraApp.apk with the one you want.
TIPS:
-Be sure that the cameraapp.apk is not in use (you can close it safely from task manager), otherwise when replace the phone will do a hot reboot.
Once the file is replaced you dont need to rebot, the phone is ready to take silent pics
Silenced shutter (only shutter mode 1, selected by default on every camera launch, the other 3 still working normally)

I'm not shure if this works on other versions/roms, if you test it report to me ^^
I hope that you find this useful.

"Silenced shutter+focus+secuence+camcorder (rec on /off)" works great on IZS v1.1, thanks a lot!

[Q] Gtalk video chat after root on D3?

Is it possible to install a custom version of Gtalk now that we have root on the D3?
Update: So, this has just become possible, but it's not a custom version, it's pretty legit since it was pulled from the leaked OTA update that was just released.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1243421
Stop reading my mind ! I was about to open a thread for the exact same question ! I'd try it in a heartbeat if we had a SBF to fallback on.... but..meh.
UPDATE/HOW TO INSTALL : See post #12 of this thread. Files are included. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17181195&postcount=12
Gtalk w/ video pulled from the OTA leak...
So, according to dincodee's post on the thread below, we should be able to pull the gtalk version from the leaked OTA update and install it over the existing gtalk installed on our phones along w/ tossing the file 'libtalk_jni.so' into the system/lib folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1243421
I haven't tried this, I'm in the process of downloading the update on my phone since I'm at work right now.
Update: I just tried this and it worked just fine without any issues. I haven't actually tried a video call yet since I'm at work. I will try and report back later.
so i tried pulling the apk and the lib file. everything installed fine but when i try to video chat it instantly FCs =[

Did you have any issues copying the libtalk_jni.so file into the system/lib folder? That folder requires read/write priveleges.
no problem at all. did it straight thru root explorer

Not sure what to tell you, I haven't been able to get a force close while video chatting. Does it matter who you video chat with or all contacts?
nope its with everyone. once i hit the video button it the app resets.
did you change the permissions at all?
wooooooo. it worked! extracted the files and put them in dropbox. used ES File Explorer to copy the files to the right spot. Opened the Talk2.apk so it installed and boo. now i have all the camera options. no one to video talk with tho
nosaturn on gtalk

I didn't change any file permissions. I'd say you may want to double check your file paths again.

I did the whole install - and it works fine. Grainy, but about what I would expect over 3g.
ZIP File
Good day to all of you.
I extracted the following files from the D3 update, tried it on my XT860, works ! Didn't get to video chat, but I assume that it should work.
Download link :
https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6768596_8_704484461
Content :
- libtalk_jni.so
- Talk2.apk
Installation :
- Renamed both original files to .bak.
- Copied Talk2.apk to /system/app/
- Copied libtalk_jni.so to /system/lib/
- Rebooted (just in case)
This might not be necessary, but I've set permissions in Root Explorer for each files to :
[X][X][ ]
[X][ ][ ]
[X][ ][ ]
Enjoy !

Droid 4 SystemUi

First Thanks that was quick! Second if I read correctly, I should just be able to install and reboot correct? then goes back to the battery or do I over write?
Just copy the file to your sd card, then move it to your /system/app folder. Once it is there, check the permissions by long tapping and going to permissions. The permissions for this file should be :
Owner - rw
Group - r
Others - r
I am pretty sure this should do it, obviously reboot after all of this, not sure if you need to wipe anything, but I don't see why you would.
PS I am using root browser, so depending on your file manager, adjust accordingly
Im sorry I need the default framework-res.apk also
Attached
IT worked but I had to fix the checksum on the file I replaced, but thanks to all.
Good stuff, I'm glad it worked

Broken Out Revo - Boot Sound

I found how get boot sounds on my Revo with BrokenOut. Here are the steps I used.
1) Find whatever music file you like (should fairly be short)
2) Convert it to an ogg file with your favorite music editor.
3) Rename the file you just created to VZW_PowerOn.ogg
4) Mount System as R/W if is R/O
5) Put the VZW_PowerOn.ogg file into /system/sounds/power
6) Reboot
Please let me know how works!
Thanks
Here is a screenshot while in Root Explorer.
It didn't work for me. I skipped Step 4 - I was able to create the /power directory and rename the .ogg file and put it in there, so I didn't think I needed to do Step 4. Is that where it went wrong? Let me know, as I think it'd be great to have a boot sound!
I added a screenshot to the original post above while inside Root Explorer.
This is for Broken Out. If you are using a different rom I can't help.
Another problem could be that the sound is too long. I would keep it under 15 sec.
Make sure the sound plays correctly on your phone before restarting.
Have a look at the screenshot. Make sure the sound is in the correct location.
Hope this helps!
works for me.

I am on BO and using Super Manager I do not have the extension of for power that you show in the screenshot.
I can get system/sounds/effect. It shows LowBatteryM3.ogg but does not show a power option. Any thoughts?
Just make the necessary folder and put the sound inside.
Need help updating
I would love to be able to update my revolution from gingervolt 2.0 to Broken Out Revo but unfortunately every link to the vz7 rom takes me to a dead end. This is becoming very frustrating, could someone please provide a link to download vz7 that actually works?

Steps To Modify SGS3 Photowall Live Wallpaper
Hi All,
I had tried multiple roms and when used the Photowall Live Wallpaper, I could not point it to the photo gallery to use my own pics. The gallery would never open and I had to do with the default pics which came with the SGS3. (Not sure if anyone has faced this issue).
After playing around with the apk files I did find a way to use my own pics in the PhotoWall Live Wallpaper. I hope you would like this.
A: Uploading your pictures in the Photowall.apk file.
1. Select a maximum of 8 pictures that you wish to use in the Photowall and move them to a folder on your desktop.
2. Rename the 8 pictures as follows: g1p1.jpg / g1p2.jpg / g1p3.jpg / g1p4.jpg / g1p5.jpg / g1p6.jpg / g2p1.jpg / g2p2.jpg
3. Extract the Photowall.apk from ICS ROM onto a folder on your desktop. (I used RemICS v1.3, haven’t tried this is on any other ROM).
4. Open the apk file using winrar. (Do not extract, just open)…. Navigate to the PhotoWall.apk\res\raw folder.
5. You should be able to see the files as shown in the screenshot 1.jpg
6. Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have stored the pictures (remember to rename them as mentioned in step 2).
7. Select the files and click “OK”. This will replace the original files in the Photowall.apk.
8. Once this is done, exit/close the apk file opened in winrar.
You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone.
B: Uploading your customized Photowall.apk file in your ROM. (Tested on RemICS v1.3).
1.Open the Rom that you wish to flash (I used RemICS UX v1.3) using winrar (do not extract)
2.Navigate to \data\app folder.
3.Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have saved your customized Photowall.apk. (Make sure that the name is “Photowall.apk”).
4.This will replace the original Photowall.apk with your customized file.
5.Exit and save the zip file.
6.Use the new edited Rom and copy it to the root of your “Internal SD” card.
7.Reboot the phone to “Recovery” and flash the new Rom. (I did not lose my data & settings as I did not wipe cache partition or Data/Factory, however this may or may not work for you. To be on a safer side please backup your data and applications. I will not be responsible for any data loss or bricked devices while trying this procedure. Try at your own risk.).
You can watch the video on the link below (sorry for the poor quality)

Special thanks toTeam RemICS for the beautiful Rom.

I think you over complicated the install process by a bit...
Why not just use a file explorer with root permissions and place the new Photowall.apk back to /system/app where it actually belongs, reboot the phone and be done with it? (/system/app is where live wallpapers that come with the phone are located by default, not /data/app)
As you can see here on my GS3, two of the several live wallpapers (phase beam and photo wall) are in /system/app
And these are the proper permissions for the apk
I tried that, but that wont work..... that the reason i mentioned
" You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone. "
Unfortunately wht u menitioned didnt work for me...
correct me if I am wrong... did u mention SG3... for SG3, you dont need to modify the photowall.apk, if you go to the wallpaper settings you can select pics from your gallery..

Yes, I understand that on the SG3 you don't need to do this, but on a Captivate, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to place it in /system/app and still have it work.

Disable camera shutter sound on LOLLIPOP

hi guys,
big problem:
the camera "shutter sound menu" is not shown on LOLLIPOP!!! i found this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795566
but nothing of this tips will work (no feature.xml, no others.xml AND NO ´/system/csc/´ folder exists. deleting the OGG files in the media folder will also not work). i think this will work on KK only. so i open a new thread for a lollipop-solution.
does a mod exist to enable the camera shutter sound menu ??? I HATE THE CAMERA-SOUNDS (click,click,click,click,click..... and all eyes on you); TERRIBLE!
regards,
chris
(device: G900F / Android 5.0 / BB G900FXXU1BOK1, stock rom but rooted)
nobody an idea????
You can just rename or delete the shutter sound inside system/media.
no way! after restarting the cam-app the files will be replaced.

Thats not true, I've done it. The system cant create a new audio file. Use root explore and rename all the camera click sounds in the system media folder. It really is that easy.

sorry, it doesn´t work. i deleted the files with root-explorer, but the sounds are not silent.
i toke a look into the "samsungcamera3.apk". the sounds are stored in this apk-paket. i think that´s the problem.
chris
This was what I was referring to but you can try wanam xposed for lolipop it has the option to remove the click sound. Requires xposed framework also.
