My battery drain fast - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help me im a newb, my 2nd handheld & sorry for my bad english,
How to reduce percentage of android system .?? Its too high % help me thank
Sent from my AD683G using xda app-developers app

It takes you about 0.5% per hour which is actually not very high...
I don't think you can get noticeable result without rooting and having a custom Rom/kernel
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app

One day I had AndroidOS accountable for 80% of battery usage.
If you have BetterBatteryStats you can try to search for the reason. In my case I had 2000+ wakelocks from fast dormancy so I deleted the fast dormancy apk from system/app (you need root for that and make a backup first).
Hope you can solve your issue.

You've lost 10% in just under 10 hours. I can't see a problem here.

Battery Drain in CM9/MIUI VengeanceNote

Hey guys. I'm getting terrible battery life with this ROM while only one other person I saw reported bad battery life. I'm on AT&T. I tried disabling FastDormancy and it did not make a difference.
Help?

Okay; so I used this and it appears that AudioOut_1 is causing partial wakelocks on my phone. I read up on it and I just disabled all OS sounds and vibration feedback. Is this an ICS issue?
Reporting back. Disabling system sounds did nothing. My battery drained about 8 percent in 40 minutes while on standby. AudioOut_1 is still at the top of partial wakelocks.

Extensive Battery Drain

Hey guys,
I have a rooted device, running stock jb (XXLQ4) with Cocore E 5.0
The battery life is pretty sucky tho
..it discharges like 30 % during the night (6 hrs of sleep). I have read in other threads that people usually have only 4 to 5% drain..
Can anyone of you tell me what it is that I should do to increase the battery life? Using no frills cpu or any other things that might help?
Im sorry if there was another thread with some similar content..I have googled and all but am unable to find data specific to this device..I'l be grateful for any help that I can get...
Thanks in advance..

Search for apps who stay weak and dont let the phone to enter in deep sleep.
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
Could you please tell which is the best app to use for this? Or do I simply go into the settings and tap on battery?one other thing, I had read somewhere in this forum about checking an option which enables deep sleep mode..is that so and if yes, where can I find that option?
Thanks again for your help...

You should use BetterBatteryStats, search for it in xda forums, as it is free for xda members (you can pay for it in Play Store to support the developer)
Search for Partial Wakelocks to track the apps that are draining your battery

obviously it's due to ROM i think? one is Sense 4.0 and another is Sense 4.1 though..
mine (viper ROM 2.5.3) with really heavy usage(screen never off), battery last for around 6-7hours..
What's your screen time, it looks like its behaving normally cause you've got a lot of screen on/offs and it wakes at the same time

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:

Seriously though this ROM is great. All that needs to be fixed are the camera bug, music wakelock thing, and heavy battery usage from Android System and Google Services and then it's basically perfect.

So, i guess its normal? But an actual CM User can give you better report. Not using it anymore.
awww, gregbradley?
30% in 8hours sleeping? horrible....but you are right, let it settle, fmlogin
Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..
The governor is ondemand and I didn't change the clock of cpu...
I'll install the app and come back with a screenshot, so I think it'll be easier to find some problem

Hi,
I'm running the stock firmware. The battery drain during one night (about 8 hours) is ~ 5%.

Mavhia, can you notice an unusual consume from google services?
Good to know that this isn't happening only with my phone.

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?

Got the same problem about 3 months ago..
I did a factory reset....back up all your apps and data, factory reset your phone if you can't find any other solutions...

Yes, I think it is pretty normal unless you find that your battery drains too fast. Let's say you have an app like Reddit sync taking 70% and android system taking 20%, than you'd say that Reddit sync is draining your battery. But if nothing else drains your battery, then it has to be android system that uses the energy coming out of your battery. Afterall, your phone is On and thus, the system needs to fonction to keep it going. Thus, I would say that optimizing your phone so as to have Android system using as much as possible, in percentage, would be ideal.
Fair enough, thanks
