i think it will happen, but, manufacturers just put skins over stock android anyway, so why change, for a fresh look maybe, it would look badass if it was red themed like

I must admit i'm not a fan of the card view UI that you can see people post about on Google+ . Those flat widgets and icons..just don't look right for me.

actually no i will not, the new trend is for more vibrant and alive colors with minimalistic line for the frames and borders just like the new music and store apps holo was good and battery friendly but it was way to dark at some times and also the black background in the app drawer must go, either make it transparent or give as the ability to choose picture or color
This thread doesn't make much sense until we actually see what KLP looks like. How can we "miss" something when we don't know what KLP will look like.
I might, depending on what KLP will look like. Right now, I'm using Makocolors ROM, which basically looks like Holo UI, but injects colors into icons and stuff in the menus/status bar. At first, Holo UI looks good and minimalistic, but after awhile, it just gets bland and boring, I feel like I need colors in my life after a few weeks. That, and the darkness makes my phone look depressing after a bit

I absolutely think that holo is being phased out, and I do agree that it is kind of for geeks. I really appreciate the new play store/Google now style, and think they are moving in the right direction. I'm always open to new designs and would live to have something new.

I think it'd be cool if the system trim changed colour to match the app. So if you have Music open the clock etc would fade to orange, Books, Facebook and so on it'd go blue etc.

Mate, the major idea of CM and AOSP-based roms is to provide up to date aosp experience to (mostly non-nexus and often legacy) android devices. It's thus highly improbable that developers of these roms will stick with "obsolete" ui.

Defiantly going to sport this theme for a while. It's a nice change of pace from all the other themes. Also, you think you'll make different colored themes in the future?
I really like what you did with the notification bar and the music and settings widgets. Looks really cosy.
But I'd make the notification dropdown menu a little less transparent, so the text is better visible (it looks ok on screenshots, but in real life situation you'd want some more contrast against the bright wallpaper, say, when you're out and it's sunny outside).
Same with dock icons. Jazzy, minimal, cool. Just the orange secondary text could be more readable on the white wallpaper background there. Consider adding a semitransparent dark dock background. This would help a lot.
Overally, looks like a solid work. Kepp it up man.

Thank you for the constrictive criticism. It's great to see users providing solid feedback . I agree with most of what you said and will work on it. For the pulldown, I was hesitant to make it less transparent as I didn't want it too dark but I play with it some more. Thanks again and keep the feedback coming!

I really like this theme but I'm on a MIUI rom at the moment. If/when I switch back to CM I will definitely be buying this. MattedBlues is by far my favourite theme and it looks like at least as much work has gone into this one.

Some people have no sense coming in here opening their mouth. Regardless whether you like it or not or if you think it's not "worth a dime", how bout' you approach it like an adult instead of like a 5 year old.
My only complaint is that I feel as if the signal and wifi icons dont match the battery and signal icons. I think they would look a bit better squared off and instead of filled solid yellow, have them filled like the battery.

Two points:
Firstly, the issue I have is the disrespectful tone you chose to use, from someone who makes themes themself I would expect better.
Secondly, none of those themes are better they are just different. Themes are about a lot more than just being 'different from stock'. Everyone has different tastes but you seem to be stating your opinion as if it is fact.
I am soo sick of having HOLO UI pushed out by Google when they don't even follow it!
The apps are just as bad with different color schemes, different header heights, etc
If KLP doesn't get this fixed...

Wow you guys.... Google is obviously about to do a major UI overhaul. They redid several things right before they released ICS (play store and the google search widget come immediately to mind). This is the same exact thing. They're not disregarding holo, these newer apps use a newer holo style. As for the drive widget, it's still just a dark gingerbread version.

I don't know about Google getting ready to do a major UI overhaul (again), that would firmly be in rumor territory, but it is true that different groups within Google lead development of different applications. GMail is handled by one group, the Drive application is handled by another, and so on. Some of those widgets haven't had their UI changed in a while, which is partially responsible. It is also true that not all of the Google applications follow an identical version of the design guidelines, which does lead to a little internal inconsistency.
That may partially be to show third party developers the different kinds of options they have, if intentional, or, if unintentional, might just be due to the disparate groups of developers at Google maintaining different applications separately. It may also be due to the very different purposes each of those widgets has, and what data, options, and features those widgets are meant to display. To be honest, it has never really bothered me personally, as the Holo theme is relatively flexible, aside from the heights. I do think the heights should follow the design a little more closely, since there is a guideline specifically for that.
Admittedly Google Music looks kinda cool, but outta place.
You will fall flat after seeing the music 5.0 app... Just like the redesigned market it has gotten a simpler ui and full white interface. Though background might change its a lot similar to Google now.
Music you own and suggested songs will seamlessly appear amidst each other. Lots of swipe gestures too. You can buy right off the app

There is "Holo Dark" just like the phone app & there is "Holo Light" like the contacts app
I think they should just let them user select-able in the next release just like windows phone and they should be applied to the holo system including the google apps
Holo is a set of guidelines. Not every app has to be the same color scheme. Some apps have new/interesting/experimental UI components, that's how they find out what works and what doesn't.
Inspired by Team Blackout. I have learned from the TBO guide, and am trying to bring support for a few more apps that they no longer do (or that I heavily rely on).

My theme is currently black and white, with pitch SwiftKey and everything. Black works well for me, but I'll consider the mind with colour. I don't exactly like things that are too bright though, as black is good for amoled screens. And do note that I'm still a beginner. Each of these applications probably took me a good 10 hours straight haha

I'm a beginner, and don't really have time to theme as much as the other guys as of now. If I have time I may try Pushbullet, but as of now I'll probably only be keeping snapchat up to date. I've tried bigger apps before and they don't look as clean when I do it. Baby steps

The colors don't bother me. Just the bright white background. Thought it would be a good one because Microsoft rarely updates apps. So once themed it will not need to be reworked for a while.

Been using the red version of this theme which I bought from play store. Will try this one too.
I am using cm theme engine from cm7 days and have to admit it's the best dark theme (along with vicino's bluemint) I have seen for theme engine. Sadly its also the most underrated may be because it didn't have an xda thread.
Only word to describe, Awesome.
I will request everyone to support the developer by buying it through play store, worth the penny you spend on it.
Best dark theme I've ever tried! I loved less ugly, but sometimes just having kitkat completely black/white is nice. Purchased with no regrets, my default theme now on PA and its nice with the new DSB alpha. Hope you keep updating it if there's anything else to add. I would maybe make a post in the Nexus 5 themes and apps section as well.

Cmon dude the guy doesn't have many sales as it is and you want him to put a sale on? lol
I suggested earlier he maybe does some sort of bundle pack like Veu and charge a little more, I think that's a better idea. He already posts his themes on XDA for free, a sale is not needed just now.

Things to know
1. the homescreen wallpaper always applies slightly to one side
2. if you select the lock wallpaper, you are stuck only using lock wallpapers from other themes at the moment (this is an issue with the theme chooser not me)

I used this dark theme as a jumping off point (not much of their work ended up in the final theme other than a couple of hex codes, but credit where credit is due)

Which sliders, the ones in in settings itself?
The reason why they aren't is they change other things in the system, like the dialog pop ups
Is this right? I was thinking of a more white overall design.
I'm using BlissPop ROM.
I'm looking for a theme that has a more white background a, more like the stock L.
Are there plans for that?

No, what I mean is that I think you have only applied your theme on CM's "stock" ROM.
I'm using BlissPop's and their theme has too much black in it, as you can see on the SS' that I posted. I'd like for the background of my settings to be white, just like it is on your screenshots. Same for my dialer and contacts background, it is still black even after I applied your theme.
I do realize that you did not modify all files, and that was my quesion. Are there plans for you to modify all files? It would be necessary for some ROMs where the devs modify the entire theme.

Nah no plans to do that, this is just using the theme manager. I have done some hard modding before but with ROM updates being at the pace they are it usually ends up being more hassle than its worth

Probably the best theme for now, very nice! May I suggest you to edit the Keyboard with orange and black in material dark and orange and white in material light? This would be amazing

I will look into it, and I should have an update to this theme soon.
Also i have been working on the calculator most recently, still needs some tweaking but its getting there

may i ask is this theme compatible with all CM based roms or just CM12,am running nameless rom 502 LP on my oppo find 7 and they have just merged the CM theme engine and some people have been asking about theme's for the rom
