Need working link to Mavrom v4.0 or 4.5 for xt862 - Motorola Droid 3

Could some one help me out? I've been struggling to find a link for xt862 that works. I'm out of the U.S. until October using GSM but whatever rom I'm using now is really bugging me. Battery goes way too fast, the keyboard and touch keyboard become unresponsive for texts and sometimes the browser, random fcs, heats up occasionally, extremely slow. I tried minimoto while I was in the states but I found I didn't like it very much, does it support GSM networks anyway?
So I'm looking for a Mavrom 4.0 or 4.5 for xt862 if anyone would be kind enough to send something over to me, I'd really appreciate it.
I'm also learning Arabic while I teach korean and would like to be able to txt in both if at all possible. Does mavrom support this? The rom I have right now shows a bunch of boxes -_- Is this restricted by droid 3 in general? Or is there a "big" rom out there that supports both GSM and Arabic?

I used for a while (and translated ) the MAVRom, but since it initially has only English and Spanish, i think that Arabian support is missing, and i think is the same for Korean... anyway, maybe an ICS/JB rom could have it, since those roms have all the languages file... obviously you got all the stuff about non-working camera, but for common phone tasks, it works pretty well!
Here is the link from my translated rom it contains English, Spanish and Italian!
http://www.mediafire.com/download/qjtea0h8hs3x2xp/MavROM_4.5_TRADOTTA.rar
It was the easiest link to find i've found but i'm searching for an official link too!!
EDIT: ehhhhh it looks like every link out there is dead... mine should work!
Here is the untranslated MAVRom: http://www.mediafire.com/download/60lk1v3a55dm6lg/D3-MavROM-4.5.zip

Awesome, thank you!

Darn...
I'm gonna look into it, meanwhile, i found on my pc a stock rom... i'll upload it right now!
EDIT: Uploading now, i'll put it in my first post
Meanwhile... have you tried the D3-MavROM-4.5.zip file right? the other file contains the translation and the ics theme, so it hasn't to be flashed!

Thank you, you're a life saver.
Edit: Not having any luck with the 3g... tried the build.prop edits but no luck. I'm in the Middle East right now, have any suggestions?
nvm, had to set up the apn.

Mega ROM for Jade ...?

Hey guys,
althought pretty busy these days, I downloaded all neccessary equipment and read a lot in order to cook my own ROM with all the leaked Mega goodies (like the new TouchFLO). But it seems its not as easy as I thought (click-click-flash?) and requires a lot of work and knowledge.
But since the Mega is also QVGA and pretty similar to our Jade, it couldnt be that hard, right?
So I ask the chefs in this Jade forum, is someone already porting and cooking? It seems that more an more Jade-chefs leave us here alone..
maybe wait tommoy ack from his holiday
I've seen the Mega pack, too and thought about cooking a ROM, but i got absolutely no knowlegde about how to cook ROMs......
I've discovered a really good german instruction today and maybe i'll try as soon as i got time to do it.
I'd really appreciate if u'd accomplish cooking a ROM with the new Mega pack and would like to be beta tester or give u some help if possible!
Cheers
+1 here

Two tips for XDAndroid - Topaz 2.2 Froyo Beta v2

Thank ReWind402 first, bate2 v2 work well on my phone, in fact, this is the only one XDAndroid able to work well in my phone.
I have two tips for all of the V2 Players:
1, XDAndroid default is English, if you want to become Chinese or other languages but not in the list, you can install a software called "Morelocale", then you can choose any language supported by Android.
2, try the zoom in and zoom out "BAR" in the screen below, you will find interesting things.
If you find some tips, please write in below to share to everyone.

Thanks coolbluesea,
Firstly: Great thread you could rename it to "XDAndroid Tips&Tricks"
Second: The XDAndroid is not my work i am only the thread maintainer and updating to latest news and builds, and if possible help people to fix some problems they have, all the hard work is done by great developers with a lot of enthusiasm and if you want you could find the paypal link for donation in the 1# post of the general thread.
A good tip! I am Chinese, so I can use system within English, but I like Chinese more.
Really? Let me try, Thank you ~

[Q] I have e problem with translating MIUI.

Hi Guys,
ive started to translate MIUI to my own language norwegian,
i am using apktool to decode and compile the apk's
creating a new dic called values-no and place my own strings in there.
everything seems fine, i use root explorer to place my apk's in the system/app/ dic reboots my phone and absolutely nothing happends!
(I've even checked on settings -> system -> language & input settings.
i think i must be missing something crucial!
please help, i understand english well and have no problem with it really, but it would be cool to finnish it and make it happend.
I figured that my lang prefix must be wrong, stumbled upon it when i installed ubuntu yesterday.
Going to try 'nb-no' instead of 'no' tonight
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Nobody seems to care, but if someone should care for future referanse the name should be "values-nb"

No one may have responded, but don't take that as a sign that no one cares. Someone, somewhere, will eventually stumble upon this thread looking for an answer to something you already know. I always suggest to post a fix for a question you asked. It'll help someone out eventually.
hehe, yeah thats why i postet it too.
and a tips: if you are working on translating an apk, and your'e not sure wich prefix you should use on values-xx simply decode Vending.apk(Market)(or another apk you know to contain your language) go into \res\ and you will find a values-xx folder with your language.
Hi,
Manage to come across your post... Did you finally make it? I'm also translating miui for my phone, in my language, i tested translating the mms.apk. However i didn't seem to see the changes.
How do you add your language as a separate language in the settings menu? Cause what I'm doing is changing the /values which shows the changes, but what i really want to do is a separate /values-xx so that i can go back and forth to the default and my own language.
Hope you could help. Thanks in advance.
Hi
Norwegian is in the Language pack?

[Q] Problem with new ROM & Morelocale2

Hello, i am new to the world of custom ROMS. I followed this great guide and i installed to my IncS this ROM.
Everything works fine so far, but when i install Morelocale2 to switch to my native language, not everything is translated. Some words/phrases remain in English.
When i was on Icecream and Sense 3.6, i also had morelocale installed and every word was translated to my native language.
How can i solve this problem?

Thank you for saying my guide was great and am happy you managed to successfully achieve S-OFF or wherever u stopped.
But to answer your question i think this is more of a ROM related issue. You might want to talk to interaser about it and ask him.

[Q] How to pick language pack from one rom and put into another rom?

Hi guys.
I know our note's latest JB rom has almost languages and locale to choose but not all.
I'm learning Japanese ,so I want to change my note's locale into Japanese so my phone's languages will become Japanese.
but the N7000 rom does't contain Japanese because They has own Japanese version.
,so I've downloaded Japanese note's rom from Samfirmware but I can't extract it.
Can anyone teach me how to pick language pack from Japanese stock rom and put into any custom rom in xda?
More locale doesn't help this
Please teach me or give me some links so I can learn about this.
Thanks to every one.:good:
Adding languages to another Rom is possible (I did in my Custom Rom).
But here is a completely different Rom for a different CPU (in the "Docomo Note").
No chance to extract japanese there and add it to our Roms.
Thank you for your answer.
How about translate it manually? such as we have English UK and US and translate eng uk to Japanese word by word?

Yes you can do that - if you work 8 hours a day the next two years you might have a preview of a translated Rom.
I think this isn't practicable.
And: where are possible users? Why should anyone in Japan buy a N7000 and make a request for Japanese.

You can't "add" them in a simple way. It means a complete rebuild of the Rom (including decompilation of all apk). I made some batches and use some tools to simplify/automate this - but even then I need about 3 days for a complete build of an all-languages-Rom starting from the original JB releases. It's ugly idiotic and stupid work.
And now the important thing for modding: you'll have to build the language-Rom first, then add the mods by yourself. If you add existing mods to such a Rom you loose important parts of language feature because the mods normally change system apks. So for Ultimate or any other Custom Rom "adding languages" is no solution because the wrong order of steps.
But maybe - and that is not a promise - I will rethink my no-mod-policy for the all-languages Rom and try to add some Mods. Starting today I'll have a long weekend to fill without family...

I do not want to be a king (especially not for simple read-take-clone activities like modding), it's enough that I have a small princess at home. But I will try one starting in the afternoon.
