Again, Built using a 1GHZ Processor with only 2gb of RAM so even if you don't like the ROM, at least appreciate the time and effort which went into this ROM!
What is Carbon, you ask?
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

I am checking the other form. Very interesting stuff going on there. If you ask for some volunteers here, with certain troubleshooting / debugging steps we need to follow, then I think there will be enough guinea phone(owner)s who could take a swing at it
Maybe mix the rom with CM9 and other ics builds to make all components working?
Congrats Great_Day! Keep up the good work!

Thanks, I hope to release some more (better) versions this week. Wi-Fi for example was almost fixed, just like the network, just needed to do some more little steps, I think. But than I broke my ROM and had no back-up, had to start again from scratch...

I don't know about battery, there is no battery indicator (YET). But I do think it is not bad.

Looks like caused by libchromatic libraries, you might take them from a CM9 build, but doesn't look like a big issue..

Awesome work Owain, as usual...
To me it seems that devs should unite in a team for porting ICS roms. Obviously some are more skilled than others, therefore plugging of holes in the ROM would go much faster and will be more efficient.
On the other side, i understand that devs like to have "their own" ROMs out there and i'm just fine with that too...
Just suggesting something that would make progress much faster than "1 man army"
Best regards to Owain94 and Great_Day

porting ROMs is a piece of cake
it is just copy and paste some files in a zip file, everyone can do that
especially when you port a rom from the G2x to the O2x it is easy you only need to copy and paste around 10 files and change a couple lines for it
it is just 30 seconds of work
so i don't see the point why we should team up for porting?
every dev should team up for writing real lines to help arcee with cm9!
and with dev i don't mean people who copy and paste files but people who can read and write code
coz cookers are no devs they only know the basics of a computer

but i will ask him for a better change log. and update will come soon

Lockscreen wallpaper, of course
Also credits are needed, and link to the source, if he uses another kernel, not just the name. Plus I'd message the kernel developer first about using his kernel
It's okay, probably his first ROM, no one is a born Android developer.

It is simply a themed ROM. It's also still not got any sources or credits on the OP, so reporting it. The rules on ROM posting exist for a very good reason.
it has a source if u see the last sentence on the first post
and there is a good patch that i will introduce in a few days

That's not a source - that is the ROM .zip file that you install.
You might want to have a read of [ALL MUST READ] XDA-Developers and the GPL
To be fully compliant, the thread must contain.
@ ROM devs
if ROM uses custom boot.img, the source must be provided. If it uses kernel by someone else, the kernel thread must be linked in the OP
if the ROM contains stock kernel, source must be linked (official site can be used)
Using a non GPL compliant kernel makes your ROM non compliant and subject to removal
Violation of GPL is in fact a breaking of the law, so I don't have to explain what could be a final of this.

and possibly a read of XDA-Developers and the GPL as well for more information.
if u have read the first post carefully u wouldn't say that

and as i mentioned is not just a cm with a theme

I really don't think you understand
The 'source' does not mean the website you (or your 'friend' who has never made a single post on XDA) stole it from. It refers to the source code used for the ROM. This is a legal requirement under the GPL, as is providing correct credit and links to the person who created the kernel you are using and many other things = IANAL so don't shoot me if that is not exactly correct.
You are refusing to listen to what you are being told by people who have been on here for quite a long time - the rules exist to protect XDA from being sued or prosecuted, not just because it seemed like a good idea to implement them.
I have already reported this thread and am waiting for one of the Mods to wake up and deal with it accordingly.
well thanks for accusing me for stealing a rom
i said the dev does not know much about english and he asked me to introduce his rom at this forum
im not refusing to listen my friend
i didnt exactly know what is the source that i had to say !
feel free to close the thread
and please give me more information about the source that ur saying in pm
Thread closed.
No sources present, and no credits properly given. Doesn't matter it's from another forum, XDA requires proper sources and credits.
PS
Read the rules, English is the only language allowed, even if your words are directed to a specific person.

[ROM][WIP] osprey AOSP 6.0.x

Hello all,
I'm trying to port an AOSP ROM to the osprey, I already made some steps but would need some help from much better skilled devs.
Here is the code: https://github.com/motogaosp
The manifest: https://github.com/motogaosp/android_manifest
At the moment the ROM starts without big problems but there are some errors while booting up.
Feel free to participate, fork the code, send pull request or whatever you think can help the project, the goal would be to have a clean AOSP ROM for our osprey.
Working:
WiFi
Bluetooth
Back camera
Front Camera
Touchscreen
Sensors:
Accelerometer
Light
Magnetic field
Orientation
Proximity
NOT working:
Sound
RIL
Mobile data (LTE/3G)
GPS

is it 100% aosp without any cm patches?
Yes, from CM I use (for the moment) the build scripts part as it has all the stuff needed to include qcom repositories but this does not affect on Android itself.

As you as a moderator knows already xda doesn't accept place holder.

I don't think it's particularly considered a place holder when the source code and manifest has been posted in search for assistance to get to a user capable produce. Works In Progress are allowed and maybe the current developer finds it moot to release a link publicly that's just going to flood his thread with endless.... ("WTF, Why this no work? U said unfished product, but it have problems, I no approve") ..... yeah stuff like that.
..and the most stupid question is:

No problem brother. And thanks for answering. It's was a real pleasure to know of this project. Good luck!
Count me in, this is essentially what I've been working on with my build.
With the addition of all RRO commits but for now I'd like clean as well, I'll start forking this weekend. Thanks for this! Big help having other devs bring aosp for our device.
man , count me in ,im happy to help . I can configure the aroma installer for it ?

Honestly I don't think that Aroma installer would be so useful on AOSP ROM btw, feel free to work on it.
If someone wants to give me some more in depth instructions on initiating a build and where to find the proper Dev tree and vendor files for Marshmallow I'd be more than willing to help with development. Since Xenon HD is AOSP base we at least know it's doable. The only bugs with that ROM are that WiFi refuses to turn back on after a soft reboot, and the GPS is damn near inoperable.
I don't know much about building Android per se, but it's something I've been thinking about getting into. I may not be able to be much of a help but I'm certainly willing to learn.

yee! Finally got a fully booting ROM! :good: :good:
Today/tomorrow will try fix BT, WiFi and other stuff.

Here's a push to start guys, take your time to read read read. Once you're done these just rifle ROM build questions at Google and check out other devices for an idea on how the structure works.
( Senior member but am still extremely new at building, no public builds just small CM stuff but these guides helped me put a lot together. )

I started from Motorola sources (https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/tree/marshmallow-6.0.0-release-osprey) and then picked some patches from https://github.com/moto8916/android_kernel_motorola_msm8916 to get the kernel booting.
Dude, you are making really quick progress. Yesterday all I saw working was the touchscreen & cameras, now we have WiFi and Bluetooth up and running? At this rate we may have a fully working AOSP ROM in no time, thanks to you!
