HTC One Google Edition ROMs? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I just purchased a Google Edition HTC One and I'm waiting to receive it from shipping. My question is can I flash ROMs from the HTC One international version? Im not exactly sure how the Google Edition is identified so I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be sticking to this forum section for international unlocked devices or AT&T version for instance.
I know that despite it is a Google Edition, if I recall correctly, it's just possibly an AT&T or T-Mobile variant. So I just wanted to know, if I am going to be flashing ROMs onto this Google Edition HTC One, which version of the phone I should be in for forum sections before I cause irreversible damage. I really want to get Paranoid Android or Revolt ROM onto it ASAP.
Thanks for any insight

So, this is the forum you want, go to original android dev in this forum, these roms are there but still waiting resources from google!!, if you are asking about sense roms, i think you will be able flash them once you achieve s-off and supercid

Is there a reason why I must stay specifically in original android development? The ROM I'm eyeing is in the android development section. I'm not looking for any sense ROMs. I love the stock experience with the ability to change DPI's on my apps. That's it. Sorry if I'm not understanding it all right away, so I will be in HTC One forum but cannot jump into android development section just yet? I don't get what you mean by resources from google.
quick side note question, is the google edition bootloader unlocked?
Thanks for the quick responses
edit: i just realized Revolt ROM 4+, the one I'm looking to load, is in android original development. didn't mean to confuse anyone.

Anyone have answer to my earlier questions?

I wonder why anyone would want to buy a Google search edition phone but all you simply have to do is flash an appropriate ROM on the normal HTC One.

To answer your question.. I'm sure you'll be able to flash any roms you would like...don't see a reason why not same hardware basically

You can flash roms from the international version make sure have the things that are required for the rom you like take a look around there's plenty already

thanks.

[Q] Probability HTC One Google Edition ROM

Hi All,
Apologies in advice if the question I am asking is going to come across as a silly one.
I am about to purchase a new HTC One 4G LTE phone.
It will have the 4.2.1 OS with Sense 5.
I was holding out for the Google Edition but apparently it will take months before it gets to my region.
I am very new to the whole Android ROM flashing and BootLoader unlocking process - so am yet to understand how it all works, and hence here is my question
What is the probability that in the near future that I get to replace the current ROM with that of the ROM on the new Google Edition HTC Ones being released this month in the US.
HTC has released something on htcDEV for the Google Edition - what exactly is it?
Will it only be a custom ROM that mimics / or tries to do a close port of the Google Edition HTC One ROM - or will it be exactly the same?
Keen to understand how it all works and if I should wait or just go ahead and purchase my new phone.
Cheers.

The probability is very high that you can replace your current Rom with the official Google one...you'll have choices to choose from...if you want you can go from what exactly Google has provided or you can go more custom but with Google's kernel source in there... Whatever you wish...they released the kernel source on HTC dev..this basically killed any bugs we had left in our custom roms ..we can implement that in there...
I'm the next few days you'll see more development coming through with this new release
Presumably you can, since it's all the same phone with same specs. Best of all, devs will probably be able to fill in the missing gaps in original roms using data from the GE phone.

Nexus Ed. RUU on Normal One

Hi, I am planning to get me a brand new HTC ONE either tomorrow, or on Sunday. My biggest confusion is whether I will be able to flash the nexus edition ruu on the notmal HTC ONE that I get with att or bell.
Also, in terms of CM10.1, there are so many versions in the one dev forum that I have no clue which is the most stable/best one.
Finally, can someone please tell me whether the PA rom for the One is any good?
Thanks for all your replies in advance.
We don't know because we haven't seen a GE RUU.
Here you go DEV community!
One Google Play Edition Stock UI http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/m7-jb-crc-3.4.10-7edee3c.zip
One Google Play Edition Frameworks and supports http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/framework.new.zip
Neither look like RUUs though, so I am a bit confused as to which one IS the RUU.
Neither of those is an ruu.
A RUU would be obvious, you can't miss it.

[Q] Questions about the Google Edition

Hey guys I'm planning on buying an HTC one and I had a few questions about the GE version.
1. Where is the development? I can't find any recoveries or anything about the GE version.
2. Will sense roms be able to flash or since the bootloader is different that will cause incompatibility?
3. Do you think the resale value worse than say the AT&T version?
1. I don't understand that question.
2. Yes you can flash Sense ROMs.
3. I do not foresee things.

There is no official dev yet.

there isn't anyone witha shipped phone yet, and I seriously doubt many people on XDA would buy one. There's no reason to, the phone is identical hardware wise to the AT&T phone, software will leak for it, software always leaks.
Someone with an S-off phone can install the leaked RUU when it surfaces and convert their phone to the Google edition.
Thanks for the answers guys. I went ahead and bought a sense version.

[Q] HTC One Rogers 4.3 ROM

Hey all!
I'm a new poster to the forums, but I've been lurking since 2010 with my Xperia X10 (rooted) as my first phone, moving onto the Acer Liquid MT (rooted, was a pain to do so however) and then to the HTC One.
I recently rooted my One. The issue I have at this moment however, is that now that the OTA for 4.3 including Sense 5 is available, I cannot install it, due to the rooted and unlocked BL on the phone. I do know how to relock the BL using fastboot, but I cannot find the appropriate RUU for the Rogers 4.1 ROM.
There are a few things I'm going to be asking for here, just out of curiousity.
First, does anyone have the Rogers RUU for the HTC One? I went onto the dev site, and unfortunately, there is no RUU file found
However, I did find the CRCs for both Rogers versions.
Secondly, lets say I just flash an International ROM onto my Canadian device, will I still be able to use the carrier I am with (Rogers).
Thirdly, if anyone knows of a Google Play Edition ROM for the One that has functional Zoe features, that'd probably solve all of my current minute post-rooting woes.
Much thanks!

This should be posted in Q&A since this is a question. Not the general section..

[Q] Which Moto X ROM?

Having bought a Moto X off eBay that's preloaded with an American Movil build, I'd like to upgrade that to something more current. Assuming I can figure out how to flash it in the first place - haven't had any luck getting a reply to this proposed flashing process yet - what build should I apply given that it's an XT1058 device intended to be used on AT&T's network. I can apply the AT&T ROM, of course, but that reportedly comes with bloatware.
And in an ideal world, I'd get my OTAs from someone other than the carrier; currently America Movil, maybe AT&T in future. Is it possible, for example, to apply the Developer's Edition ROM to an XT1058 device, and if so, would I be likely to be upgraded more quickly? If not, does anyone have any recommended builds that are compatible with AT&T's network that are better than the AT&T ROM?

I would suggest unlocking the boot loader, flashing either cwm or twrp recovery and finally flashing superuser. Keep in mind that unlocking the bootlaoder will void your warranty.
The benefit to this route is you will maintain root access, also you can easily flash Roms without the problems that cone along with pwnymymoto and safestrap.
Cm10.2 is around the corner and there's already a T-Mobile ROM that has the camera update included

I would like an answer to this, if anyone knows.
I want to get a colored one through at&t, but I want the developer's edition rom with their OTAs. Kind of like how people are making their carrier HTC One's into google play editions.

don't think there is a dev edition rom to my knowledge. I haven't really read much about people saying the dev editions had anything different besides and unlockable bootloader which you don't have so you will only be able to flash roms through Safestrap if you haven't taken any OTA's yet.
While it should have been obvious, it's worth letting people know that the AT&T ROMs disable tethering. Again, most people probably know this, but coming from Nexus devices it hadn't even occurred to me. So if there is a dev edition ROM floating around out there where this isn't disabled by default, I'd love to see it.

There is a Dev Edition ROM and it is the exact same ROM as the T-Mobile ROM which is the only Retail ROM.
