..... 8 Gb Internal.... Now we all Know thats a Lie..
You by far only get your 4 Gb if a lot and those with 16.. well Ok? I suppose
But here is my true Issue, we all Know that you can insert a MicroSD Card in the phone right?
But why is it that its absolutely impossible to install anything on the sd card!!! Is it my Phone or??...
Apps fail to put their data on the Card.. you see I have a 64 Gb MicroSD Card I'm a very huge game enthusiast
most of my games are always 1Gb and above so by best I can only have have 3 HD Games??
now how is that Fair whilst I have a 64 GB Card
so is it my phone or do yours have the same issue??
Please let me Know if you have the same issue or the Solution I am totally Lost :crying:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slf.ListglApp&hl=en
But root required.
Oh and you're not the only one with this issue. But, as far as i know, without root, you can't do anything about it.
Yep you cannot install apps in the external SD Card. That's not your phone's problem, it's Android 4.0+ problem.
But then ofcourse if you root, you can do anything :good:
U always can use Link2sd, but 64GB sdcard?
S advance suppost to support up to 32GB only i guess

Hey guys hope someone have experienced it but i want to know what would be the best storage location for apps? Would the phone run faster if they are in phones memory? Or the sdcard?
Is there any differece about it??
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
It depends on your sd card class a. Class 10 would be faster than internal memory
Thanks for reply.! I currently have 8gb class 4 what would u think? Keep apps on internal memory or on sdcard?
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Class 4 is enough for smooth running from sd card, but faster is better!

mine's 8gb class 4 too and it seems fine for me,well apps which has widgets etc shud be installed on internel memory, other apps and games to sd card, install app2sd,it will notify automatically whether the app can be moved to sdcard or shud be left on internal memory

With class 4 there is always problems with your phone recognizing the SD card. Class 4 will work on stock but most of the time it wont work on a custom kernel. I always suggest people to get a class 10. Search the internet you will get it for cheap
Stuff that you have running the whole time you need keep them in memory. With games i suggest putting them on an external SD card. Even if its a slow SD card you save space with your internal memory.
Thanks for the reply guys hey have someone ever tried partitioning the sdcard, and would the phone read the 2 partitions as external storage? Might be a noobi question
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
With app2sd app u create 2 partition, one for storage and one for app2sd.U see one partition(for storage),other is "invisible" because it is for moving apps to sd card.

I have a class 4 16 gb. Its is ok for running games and other stuff. For important stuff, like things that need SU and things you use daily, it is best to keep it in phone memory.

Use ext2 for the second partition. And use app2sd script to make it work =D

I have a samsung galaxy gt-i9001 and I am a big fan of gameloft and there games. I play a lot of different games on my phone. But slowly my internal sd card begins to fill up. Now i only have 5 mb left. But i have a 16 gb micro sd card. And there is plenty of memory left there. I was wondering if it is possible to mount my external sd card as my internal sd card, so there will be more space for games and other files needed for apps. Currently i am on the latest cm9 rom. But i am willing to change this.
Also sorry if this question allready was answerd in a different thread. I googled the question but nothing came up.
Also sorry for bad english.

Isnt working for ics... do i really need to downgrade back to gingerbread to be able to do this?
sent from my gt-i9001. running on cm9 build 4
So basically my question is: is it possible to do this on i9001 running on ics?
sent from my gt-i9001. running on cm9 build 4
go in settings/apps/pn sd card/pres app/mount to sd card.
No. Thats not it. Thanks for reply anyway. I would like that my phone "thinks" that my external sd card, my internal sd card is. (Sorry for bad english) so that then actually swap. So when a game saved data automatically on the internal sd card, it will actually be stored on my external sd card... but the apps think they store data in internal...
Am i so unclear?
Greetings

The vold.fstab way is not working in Android 4.4 KitKat ... but upto 4.2.2 this way worked nicely.
hello everyone,
I think I saw someone (forgot who) who is using a 64GB micro SD card for his SGS - however, when I tried one, I cannot seem to make it work (getting an error in the notification bar) even if I tried formatting the card.
Does anyone know how I can make a 64 GB micro SD work for my SGS? Or is it even possible to make it work? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes! You can do that by swapping.
Search for swapper on play store. But its only good if u use class 6 or 10 sd card.

can you suggest a good 4gb sd card for my ace with which i can partition my sd card and also use swapper also is there a way with which i can check class of my sd card that came with my ace
Class is written on ur sd card itself.
Ex. if u have a class 4 now, its written 4 inside "c" on sd card
And i would suggest u sandisk 8gb class 6 or 10 sd card.
Because i think 4 gb will be very low as if u give 1 gb to ur system then also u'll get only 3gb. Very less for me
But if u want 4 gb, then also sandisk 4gb class 6 or 10

Don't use swap. It killed my brand new memory card tragically. There are many other ways to have a better ram usage. Try them !

@adinatsu I recommend you not to use swap as it would have a negative impact on your microsd. I had a class 10 sanddisk 16gb which died testing this
do not head for swapping . You can use gpu rendering scripts on ur ace.

I just got a 64gb class 10 extreme SDXC. Super fast, but I can't seem to find it when I go into safestrap recovery. Anyone know if I need to repartition it differently so that it will work?

Slower, no. File size limitations, yes.
