I hope what the rom is ready for daily use

hope this will work

Not getting it because I need my phone intact.
But here's an idea: build it with inferior hardware (instead of 384MB of RAM and 800MHz, use 300MB of RAM and 600MHz) and modify it to recognize 384MB RAM and 800MHz. The RAM and CPU usage should be lower. If you didn't understood, it's like installing Windows XP on a PC with 4GB of RAM and a Quad-Core 2000MHz (it would be blazing fast) ;D
And you have to get all the drivers and libs from Gingerbread and ICS, and port to Jelly Bean. That would do it, but it requires time.
Anyway, it's good to see the L3 isn't dead. Greetings from Brazil!

nice work!
Working on rev0.2
This morning I have just made a small change.. (rev0.2) Havent had time to test it myself yet..
I moved ALL application from system/app to data/app..
In this way one should be able to delete ANY app.
Also Rom Manager is updated to latest version..
and Estrong FileManager is includded (I thought this to be the best since it has also build in FTP-support)
Coming up soon..
nice, is your version a2sd or a2sd+ ?
If you don't mind an opinion...there is now available an unlock mode with the optical trackball button, could be handy to include it in your rom.

Hehe.. that's a very good question..
For now I believe it to be a2sd (the one available in the Kitchen at the moment -- I will look in to difference between a2sd and a2sd+ really soon..
Futher planning is to include the unlock mode for optical trackball and also the batteri circle.. But I am at work right now and the rest of the day I'm celebreting my sons birthday... so moving on tomorrow with next rev..
The battery circle mod, shouldn't give you any trouble

Didn't work too good for me. installed with 32/512MB, Sense loads (after asking whitch launher to start, I can choose Sense or 2x Setup). after, a loop of FC on Sense, can't do anything else but power off... :/

Thanx for info.. as mentioned I haven't had the time to test the Rev 0.2 myself yet (Guessing that it is rev 2 you have installed)
I have to guess that it must be because some apps can NOT be removed from system/app.. I'll check up on that asap. Until that rev. 2 link has been removed.
Hi, and first many many many tnx for your work!
I've just flashed 0.2 rev but after 15' all I have is a boot loop with a blinking Android on the screen.... All wipe options were performed. Now I'm trying the 0.1....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install HOWTO:
1. Flashing the ROM
1.1 Preparing for flashing
- go to recovery
- wipe /cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats
- flashing this over mik's v6.5.x/6.6.x ROM without wiping /data should work without any problems.
- for any other non-CM7.1 ROM, wiping /data (factory reset) IS required (see FAQ and do not ask retarded questions)
1.2 Flashing the ZIP
- CWM should work just fine
- TWRP - works just fine if you disable signature verification (bug reported quite a few days ago)
- AmonRA - totally untested, definitely disable signature verification, if it does not work, try one of the above.
Quote:
Do not post lame questions about failed signature verification here!!!
1.3 First boot and initial setup
- reboot from recovery
- WAIT! Really, just WAIT!!! Even if it takes 10 minutes, there is no bootloop. Also, as long as the bootanimation is moving, the phone is NOT frozen and is busy populating the dalvik cache etc. Absolutely no need to pull the battery in that case! Once again, WAIT!
- In case you are flashing on a clean phone (/data wiped), you will get the initial setup wizard. If you want to change your language, do it. Tap on the Android picture. Either complete the wizard or skip it. I suggest skipping it, you can add your Google account and set it up just fine after all the setup is finished by tapping on the Market icon.
Quote:
IMPORTANT NOTE: In case you get some lame popup before the initial Android screen asking you to choose between something like "com.google.provisioning" and Setup Wizard, choose the topmost item, do NOT check the checkbox. (It is impossible to take a screenshot of that, so it is NOT shown below.) Follow the prompts. Again, suggest skipping the wizard as soon as possible.
2. Theming the ROM for dummies (picture guide):
2.1 - Lockscreen
After you have finished/skipped the setup wizard, your screen should look like on Picture 1. Go to Settings - CyanogenMod - LockScreen - Style Options. Select Lense as LockscreenStyle and check the Hide rotary arrows. Press Back a couple of times to get back to home screen.
2.2 Wallpaper and status bar transparency - part 1
Hold your finger on the home screen for a while. Select Wallpapers from menu. From the next menu, select Live wallpapers. From the next menu, select MultiPicture Live Wallpaper. On next screen, tap on Settings, go to Common Settings - Picture Source. From the popup menu, choose either Single Picture or Picture Folder. On the prompt, do not forget to check "Use by default for this actions" and tap on MIUI Gallery. Go to wallpapers folder, choose a wallpaper, duh! Press back several times until you get back to the Set wallpaper screen. Tap on Set wallpaper. You are back to your homescreen.
Looks better now, huh?
2.3 Choosing the theme
Tap the home icon - in the app drawer list until you find Theme Chooser (on the last screen), tap the icon. Tap on Apply button under the MIUI theme. Back to home screen, note the icons in status bar are now changed.
2.4 Status bar transparency - part 2
NOTE: Sorry, this part IS sadly required, I cannot include the patched SystemUI.apk in the ROM, because otherwise there is never any status bar, LOL. Also it causes quite a bit of trouble with the initial setup wizard. NFC. Do not ask me why.
Click to collapse
Finishing up!!! Press the power button, choose Reboot - Recovery - OK. Wow, the phone rebooted and you are now in recovery! Go to flash ZIP menu, browse to MIUIGEN71/themes/transparent folder and flash the statusbar_patch.zip!
Reboot.
2.5 Finished!!!
NOTE: If you ever get bored by the transparent MIUI theme, you can undo the patch by flashing MIUIGEN71/themes/nontransparent/statusbar_undo.zip from recovery and use any CM7 theme with this ROM. (A black MIUI theme with non-transparent status bar attached here. To revert to the original transparent theme bundled with the ROM, download the transparent theme and do not forget to flash MIUIGEN71/themes/transparent/statusbar_patch.zip from recovery.)
FAQ:
Q: Can I use this with the new baseband?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT!
Q: Not even with the mik's patch?! Will data work with that?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT!
Q: Are you planning to add support for new baseband?
A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT! It will be supported when/if mik's ROM supports it. I will NOT do anything about baseband.
Q: But... that sucks! I do not want to downgrade baseband?
A: Go use another ROM, such as the stock LG ****! Do not bother asking on this thread about baseband.
Q: Can I flash this over mik's v6.5.x/6.6.x ROM without wiping /data?
A: Yes, it should work without any problems.
Q: Can I flash this over stock ROM, GingerLOL or whatnot else without wiping /data?
A: NO! Do not bother with complaining about crashes and broken things if you do.
Q: Why franco kernel v1.1-24082011? It is unstable for me, I have random crashed, freezes, reboots, battery drains and it even drinks all beer in my fridge overnight!?!
A: Because the kernel works perfectly fine for me. If you get the stuff above, wipe everything (/data, /cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats), tune down your crazy OC (no, this phone will NOT work @1GHz) and enjoy your fast clean stable ROM with great performance!
Q: I still have kernel problems even after a clean flash? What now?
A: Feel free to flash any other franco 2.6.35 kernel if it works better for you. You can report bugs in latest kernel version to franco on his thread. IMPORTANT: Do NOT bother with reporting issues if you are too lazy to provide useful information about your CPU freqs, governor settings, provide logcat etc. and the only thing you plan to do is moaning about crashes, drains etc.
Q: I am having black screen/split screen bug!!! T3h suxxxx!
A: Sucks to be you, I do not have any such problem. Otherwise, turn off the CRT animation (who needs such stuff). If you get a blackscreen, please stop locking/unlocking the screen like mad every one second. Wait a few seconds at least. Also, there is no need to pull the battery or damage the power button by pressing it zillion times, just touch the screen.
Q: I am having battery drain! The ROM and kernel are horrible!
A: No, the junk you have installed is horrible. Grab BetterBatteryStats, find the offending crap and uninstall it.
Q: Battery life still suxxx! Only will last 3 days!
A: Go get a Nokia 5110.
Q: How can I switch to those other bootanimations that are included?
A: Run terminal emulator, then do this:
Code:
$ su
# selectbootanim
Click to collapse
Q: How can I test the bootanimation without rebooting?
A: Use adb:
Code:
> adb shell bootanimation
Press CTRL+C to terminate it.
Q: When I mount the phone to my PC, the wallpaper I set from SD card gets lost from my home screen/lock screen!
A: Nothing I could do about it. Normally, /sdcard can only be mounted once. When you use the phone as mass storage, it gets unmounted from the phone. Go complain to Google.
Q: But it sucks! I have my phone connected and mounted to PC for the whole day, using it as a thumbstick for playing my p0rn collection!
A: Buy a USB stick for like $10. This is a phone, not a storage for your PC. Or grab something like Root Toolbox from the market and try the dual-mount feature there instead.
Q: When I boot the phone, it takes some time before the background picture appears.
A: It takes a while to get the SD card partition mounted to phone. Go complain to Google.
Q: What are those sysro/sysrw scripts good for?
A: As the name suggests, to remount your system read-only/read-write.
Q: How to I use them?
A: Duh, use the terminal, luke!
Code:
$ su
# sysrw
... (do whatever you want now with files under /system)
# sysro
# exit
$
Q: What is nano?
A: A console-based text editor. If you do not know what it means, you do not use it. RTFM!
Q: How do I set the WiFi Tx power so that it does not needlessly drain battery?
A: Use /system/etc/setwifi.sh script. It sets the value to 20dBm.
Q: Can I change that value?
A: Yes, edit the script. (See nano above.)
Q: Could you include my cool 99zomgmakemyphoneflylikehellubercool tweak?
A: No, sorry. I only include reasonable stuff. This ROM and kernel have excellent performance without any tweaks. Flash those yourself and do not bother with reporting resulting issues here. Will NOT fix them.
So now this ROM is available for our phones too. Good.

Well... This rom have plenty of bugs, and sadly the original developer of this rom is too stubborn to even admit the existance of it...
I think the bugs comes from the mix of having a very very unstable kernel with very awful known bugs and the use of crappy apks which replaces the old good functional apks for only the looks...
Promising stability is impossible.
Bugs I had when I used this... for a month:
(I DID NOT: Overclock, install other tweaks than transparent taskbar)
-Weird battery behaviour (sometimes lasted up to 2 days!; in the worst, just a night)
-Installed apps gets deleted from the menu (but installed in the system, worthless since you cannot access to the app but still uses the memory)
-When the rom gets buggy, it restarts itself with the screen issue... fixed easily, putting the phone to sleep and in the wake, the screen looks normal.
(but the restarting thing was loopy... restarted the phone itself w/o doing nothing for half an hour... I had to pull off the battery and wait some time...)
-The screen resolution was weird also... for some reason the apps looked with less space and for some apps it messed up the original look (like zombiebooth, no big deal tho)
-Buggy Videorecording/ photo taking (problems with the app, and with the codecs of the videos recorded with the cam...)
-The Compass was totally off... (no big deal for me tho, but it's a bug)
-Glitchy look for some apps (like FriendCaster, I read before that it was a bug because of some setting of the kernel... but it's a present bug anyway)
This is not acceptable for calling a rom Stable, the only dealbreakers was the restarting stuff and the battery behaviour, because sometimes I needed the phone and it was dead or looping...

You forgot to mention something.. did you do a clean wipe & install? Some are really bugs. But the battery issue is surely a problem from your side.
Personally if this is Drnotor's rom, there is no problem with me for overclocking or apps. I put dartktremor's app2sd, no problem. With the ungaze's one, not working to update the kernel. Yes there is a bug with the camera, it hangs, there is this option of blast shot or something, whatever. I select this option and then it works fine. I did clean install, then titanium backup, and I stick with the 240811 kernel as the next one did me fast burning battery on 3G. I do many internet and pandora radio and no games. Before this rom I was on void#forever, now I'll wait for andy's rom, but I don't know why people would have a problem with this rom. It's as good as any other, wifi thethering work, usb i don't know but it's enough for me.
Good battery, overclocking available, fast rom, so far so good.

This ROM works well.
Most of the bugs you mention belong to the kernel (if you read the FAQ you'll see that it mentions something like this, "If problems persist try another version of the kernel"). The compass works fine if you've successfully calibrated your. If you did not work, I can only think that your compass is bad and take your phone to a service technician to review it.
If you still continue with "your" problems then you should go to the forum of dr.notor and report back all this, as seeing who is in charge of the subject's ROM here at XDA (no offense) I do not think that this topic be successful...
Off Topic
Sorry if I respond aggressively but I'm tired of seeing every issue of this section of developers (yes, I am not a developer but as I have space to say) many response where blame the people who make these great Kernels or ROM's, without given the time to figure out that **** is for the problem they have, and always the most problems come from users themselves and not the people who develop these things ...
P.S. I don't know how sweattami got to hold this thread, however personally I'd like to see a Thanks to Drnotor in the first post, he did put the rom together after all.

Problems & Solutions
If GPS isn't working:
open HiddenMenu with 1809#*990#, choose GPS Test
In Settings:
"MOLR Protokoll" -> "User Plane"
"SUPL Settings" -> "SPL Server" -> choose "LGE SUPL" instead of "google(Open)"
SLP Auto Provision activated
"C-Plane" -> "Loc Estimate"
"Misc" -> activate "Auto Cold Start"
Second possibility: put gps.conf (1.32 KB) http://www.multiupload.com/F4AQDOJ9N5 in the /system/etc folder. With this you have to boot your phone with activated GPS otherwise it might not get a fix!
If you get freezes using RC11, try not to undervolt, make sure you don't use pathed SQL libs and if this doesn't help try another Kernel from post #1. With the older kernels you can also use the patched SQL files linked in post #1 which will give you higher benchmarks (though no real higher performance).

This looks good, great work!
Hej Gueste,
This ROM is very welcome to XDA..!! I have used the ROM , downloaded from handy-faq ( google translate, ofcourse) and very much delighted by the smoothness and reliability of it. This one is a neat and clean ROM, with pretty much everything one should ask for ( or make what we would have thought when we bought a P990 in the first place).
I have been using Topogigi on a regular basis, before actually seeing your ROM. I found it is a better and stable alternative to people who want their phones to be reliable and actually useful without problems ( not that I have encountered any problems so far, but that is my experience).
Thank you very much for bringing this great work to the rest of the humanity
Welcome here too. Thanks for zour rom.
Very good one

Fix the link please. TIA
Re-upload this on multiupload or somewhere. " HP_Kernel_RC11_TB_modForGueste2xv2.1.zip (6.4 MB) "
Thanks.
Im gonna be using this rom rather than hell_97's because of filesonic.
Juice Defender always freezes the phone for me, can this be used with a phone that's already uv/oc?
Edit: Phone froze on me again, pulled the battery and this time the whole system gets corrupted. I get lots of FCs on reboot and telling me to reinstall my keyboard, whatsapp, etc that runs on startup. Must be the rc11 behaving like rc10.
Going to try SR2. I'm guessing these HP zip files are custom tailored for this ROM so I can't use the official zips. Can you make one with RC9? That's been very stable.
rom looks good, but gps is not working.
FYI
Rom link in post one broken:

ROM looks quite fast but i had three freezes with three calls....had to pull out the battery and restore....
Used the RC 11 link and did the flash...is it because of that....I have BB20M flashed and also the RIL using GetRIL...
restore the Topo 20M updated by Striatum_bdr...
Thanks for the hard work but would like to know the reason.
i think rc11 is the culprit for the freezes! the rom is really fast and stable now im using it with rc9 and launcher7 without any lag.. for the 20mb hack, if it's possible then i think it would be a great addition to this rom.. we can always make use of extra 20mb rather than leave it to useles ota update right?

[ROM][NEW RELEASE] LeWa ROM U9000 12.04.13 UI2.0

Download ROM here:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/PEuuY1ri/LeWa_ROM_U9000_120413.html
or
http://minus.com/mK4mnuWX
Steps of installation:
(I prefer clean install - full wipe)
1. Flash ROM
2. Flash mOCk kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1345481)
3. Reboot system
(vivekb, no gapps flashing already included)
This is a full ROM, not OTA update, why? Because my first port for LeWa OS UI2.0 was a combination with U8800 & C8650 sources, this new one is totally from U8800 official LeWa OS 12.04.13V (UI2.0).
Why I prefer solid porting from U8800? Native tether works!
Now, we wait whyzee to fix the headset. I try to use first whyzee fixed for LeWa 12.03.09, its not work, bootloops! I cannot use whyzee fixed for my first LeWa UI2.0 (12.03.30) because the ROM framework was originated from C8650, this new one is solidly from U8800. So vivekb, for sure MOKEE headset fixed cannot works, the service.odex modification by whyzee is depending to the whole contents of framework folder, not just a single file matter.
Update: whyzee headset fix is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25044942&postcount=202
Credits go to:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
This new lewa rom with new user interface has been launched on 30th of March 2012. New UI codename UI2.0 is a symbol of commitment by lewa team after 1 year in the market, lewa 1st birthday is on 1st of April.
My 1st challenge to port this new released rom is to download it from original sourse, lewa website. I took nearly 20 times to download the official lewa rom for u8800, bcoz they used 115.com server, its too slow here.
After successfully downloaded, and did my porting work as usual, according to my own porting SOP (standard operating procedure), I faced 2nd setback, my rom not booting. It seems like for this UI2.0 released for u8800, lewa solidly used .35 kernel as a strong base, with all customizations totally depend on .35 kernel, so its impossible to boot it using .32 kernel. What I hv done to fix it was by extracting another official lewa rom for c8650 & combine it with u8800, and my luck still there
Next step was asking whyzee to fix the headset issue, after a few try, he managed to make it working.
So this is the rom (this is a full rom, not an ota package):
http://www.4shared.com/zip/j7hswa0X/LeWa_ROM_U9000_120330.html
(sorry poyensa, I still use 4shared.com, I think its not against the xda policy, since I hv tested downloading some stuff from there without logging in, and I got no restriction & problem)
Full wipe (except for those who are already in lewa, just wipe dalvik & cache)
Flash this rom through CWM.
Flash mOck kernel (get it here: http://tinyurl.com/bnrshpl)
(No need to flash Google patch @ gapps, all included in the rom)
Reboot system

Hacked calendar.apk which is working flawlessly with this rom (tq whyzee):

I think apps that r still in chinese r not important one i will try to use android.policy.jar frm old miui version, see whether it can fix headset or not. But headset working with spirit fm radio, just the sound is terrible

Should I replace android.policy.jar in framework folder, do I need to give permission to make it work.
Regarding Spirit FM headset are working like antenna apart from that they are not working.....

the one thing I love the most about the ROM is the ability to side swipe in many of the apps ala ICS. Thanks zuk, you are awesome.
PS. I think there is a bug in the dialer, It wouldn't search when 6 is pressed first. So that I can't search for names beginning with M, etc.
Also is there translation for the calendar app. I thought it looked kinda cool
I flashed this over miui..
Here's my review:
+ swipe ui on setting, mesage is amazing
+intrnet speed is fast, gps work fine
+battery live is good
+ camera works,
+very stable
-show"unknown" on my cariers name
- theme is less than miui, and not customizable at status bar
- default launcher is preety laggy
-some chinese app, in chinese language
Overall, its very good...
Must try!!

LeWa is very good,
Headset are not working .....only ....
Can anybody confirm the bug in the dialer? Pressing 6 first does not initiate a search for MNO.

Hi users.

Whats not working:
- ?
Fully working , stable and super fast 4.0.4 for GT540! You love it because i love it. Try it!

Extra Patches:
*DevSwift's kernel - if you want , try original rom kernel from here http://www.mediafire.com/?6ib6e8z1c4z7pvg .Im not tested it long time so , some features may didn't work. To go back Miroslav kernel , flash this http://www.mediafire.com/?nxik9gzvsj5ctb2 .
*BTDialingFix - (if you really need dialing with bluetooth, but you lost 6 volume speaker level (only this one , you still have six others) on dialing , so don't flash it if u not use this function!)
*12dalvikcache.txt - first rename it to only 12dalvikcache , move to system/etc/init.d and change right permission. Reboot. This script created dalvik-cache folder in cache partition and moved system apps dalvik-cache. Now you have more free space on data (for apps). And be careful when wiping dalvik in recovery.
*Memory_optimizer - download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41253571&postcount=55 please just flash it after installation system.
*DSPManager - for performance it was removed from rom , but if someone want....working with any players.
Rom have stock MusicFX from ICS , is very good but working only with stock music player.
*wpa_supplicant_adhoc & standard - are you using AdHoc wifi networks? Or you don't know why your phone doesn't see wifi?
Android have some bug , don't show AdHoc wifi networks.
If you need this , please install wpa_supplicant_adhoc.
Now your phone see all wifi signals , but lose blue signal rows on status bar.
When u save your AdHoc networks in wifi settings , now install wpa_supplicant_standard. Now blue rows on statusbar come back and you can connect to saved AdHoc.
*key_original - flash it if u want original keys functions.
Congratulations for great dev's:
- DevSwift
- Miroslav_MM
- LeoPosas
- and AOKP team for wonderful rom
It was last rom from me...good bye!
Great job man, I am gonna test right now :good:
Going to test it today, if this is your last rom, then thank you and good bye, you did great job with all of your roms.
Maybe , maybe its not last , but i need break.
Then get a solid break then, I'm downloading right now.
Super smooth ICS ever made
Think we will need good mirror for this rom . If somebody can , please give it users , because dropbox is not so good...
Little fix for stability ( sometimes rom was unstable for me , it was my bad) and better audio codec for camcorder in first post.
Sorry about that , please install it.

You need swift boot loader builder to resize partition

I'm testing it since today and I have to say that this rom is the best 4.x ever made for our device. It's very smooth, fast and it seems to be stable. I was concerned about the ram usage of system processes but it's not that bad, actually there's 80-90 Mb of ram available for user ( after clearing the memory ) with Adw launcher and with lowered heapsize settings ( 64 Mb to avoid problems with some applications and games ). Games runs great as well, some even better than on SDSL v4. After long time of searching for suitable 4.x rom I found it ( I lost faith that there might be a fully working and fast android 4.x for this device ) and this is my daily rom now.

For wipe I do in CWM- factory data reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
and in mount and storage-format-boot, format data, format sd-ext, format system
This is just for me, but if u wan't wipe full in different way then try this

Is this rom better/faster than AOKP Milestone#6 r2 by rishabh.raj37? It's my daily rom now, and I'm thinking if this rom is worth reflashing my GT540.
