Custom boot animations for GT-I9000 on ICS 4.0.3 RC3.1?

Hey guys,
How can I create custom boot aninations for my Galaxy S GT-I9000 that is on Android 4.0.3 RC3.1? I have read other articles and tutorials but nothing seems to work. Can anyone give me a link or even explain it here [if its possible]?
Cheers,
there are a lots of boot animation collection in the forum..... choose between them, what boot animation u want to download....the downloaded file have to be named exactly like this "bootanimation.zip" (without the quotes)..... or if u r good in making animation, then u can make ur own animation sequence and put them in a zip folder ( bootanimation.zip)..... if u r confused about the picture sequence and more details, then just download a "bootanimation.zip" repack and look inside....u will understand....
then u have to use ROOT EXPLORER or similar file manager to put them here : system > media. Then do a reboot.
best of luck.
hit thanx button if it is helpful.
thanks pal, i was just stupid. I was puttin "bootanimation.zip" file into "system/bin". I thought that was the location because there was a file named "bootanimation" (not zip) in it. Thanks really man,..
Cheers,

How to change bootanimation in froyopro..
I've tried pushing the zip file to system/media, replacing the original and changing permission but didn't work.. It shows some other animation which is "android" written with some font which is also not the original one that i had on clean install.. I didn't find the zip file for any such bootanimation in media folder.. There were zip replaced by me..
Plzzz.. Help...
You were shown the stock Android boot animation because your one didn't work.
You must rename it to bootanimation.zip. Did you do that?
Yup I did it.. infact later I had a look at the froyo's bootanimation zip which I had backed up.. renamed similar to it.. it was "bootanimation_cm6.zip" and other had cm7.. but still didn't worked..
Ah yes you're using FroyoPro which is in fact FroyoBread. Just make a copy of your boot animation then name one of them bootanimation_cm6.zip and the other one bootanimation_cm7.zip. Finally, just overwrite the system ones. Should be good, I've done the same thing.
Also, did you create the boot animation?
Sent from my E15i using xda app-developers app
open the rom ZIP file
the go system\media
u can see the file bootanimation.zip
open it and see wt inside
i hope this useful xD
@chris
Nope.. using minicm9 bootanimation and if I remember it was created by u and Acheap posted by rohin, so there's no scope of any kind of problem in the zip file also i was using it on gdx.. will try as u directed..
AChep and I have never made a boot animation. Rohin though has posted the CMX boot animation.
Ok.. but I'm sure it was posted by rohin.. anyway's I'm back to gdx..

But I don't find any tutorial that explains how to change bootanimations in stock roms.
Try here

I got the desired result on top why can't you
I delete "samsungani" file from system/bin/
I renamed "bootanimation" file from "system/bin/" to "samsungani"
I copy "bootanimation.zip" in "system/media/" , and the animation steel dont work.
you must be doing something wrong or the bootanimation is not created properly
to check if bootanimation is OK type su then samsungani in terminal if the bootanimation is played the bootanimation is OK and if not thenin boot animation something is wrong
I tried this bootanimation ( i attached it), but when I type in the terminal emulator "su and then samsungani" it playsa part of an old bootanim. ( not the stock one, the first custom one that I tried). I dont know why he do this. In media folder I have just the bootanimation arhive that I atached here.

[Q] Custom Boot Animations Play Forever!

I'm trying to get custom boot animations working on a stock deodexed ROM. What I've done so far is in /system/bin: deleted "samsungani" and then renamed "bootanimation" to "samsungani". This got rid of the Samsung boot animation in place of the Vanilla Android one and this works fine (although it is rather crap!).
However if I place any custom boot animation at /system/media/bootanimation.zip it works, but it just plays indefinitely and fails to disappear once the Android interface has loaded. I've tried editing the animation settings inside the zip file. I've also tried a boot animation pulled straight out of the Simplicity v2.1 ROM's zip file which doesn't work either, so it is obviously not a problem with the actual bootanimation.zip as that one must be preconfigured to work on an S5830i.
I must need to change something else but I have no idea what? I tried deleting "bootsamsungloop.qmg" "bootsamsung.qmg" from /system/media which done absolutely nothing.
Bump: I think custom ROM developers should know the answer to this or anyone else please?
EDIT: I worked it out. If anyone wants to know, forget about what I said in the first post. It seems that /system/bin/samsungani is modded in ROMs with custom boot animations as there is a difference in file size. So just overwrite your samsungani with the modified version from a ROM's zip file that has a custom boot animation, such as Simplicity v2.1. Then put your bootanimation.zip in /system/media and that's it.
To remove/replace the boot animation sound the file is /system/etc/poweron.ogg, delete it or replace it.

change boot logo

hi. i want to change my boot logo but i cant and was hard to me. any one knew easy way to change boot logo . my rom is xosp marshmallow . i am sorry my english is not good
Boot animation comes with a set of images, packed in a compressed folder with the format zip. Its name is "bootanimation.zip", located in the system directory /system/media
If you have a boot animation zip in your possession, just replace the original one located in the system folder. For safety, you may instead rename the old one.
Note: boot animations may work differently across devices and ROMs.
how can i extract logo.bin in custom rom
The bootanimation is in "ZIP" format, you can find it in System/media. Just copy it from there to your external sd and copy it to your computer if you want to edit it. Likewise, you can copy another bootanimation.zip ( the bootanimation you like ) back to the device
Just copy it to system media and change the permissions to rw-r-r ( 0644 ) and you're good to go
why you are talking about bootanimation? i want to extract logo.bin to change SONY bootlogo not change the bootanimation.
please answer to me
Why????
