Request: HTC Gallery for Google Edition - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I will donate a sizable amount of money to whoever can get this working properly. I might be broke.. so it maybe a $1.. and don't tell me it wont work. They said that about the camera, and it worked fine. I want a positive attitude about this.

O__o why its horrible

Because I want my Zoe's to function properly, and I like the Events it creates. Plus it works great with the Camera.
There is a lot of people looking for this to work.

Some of us would like to have the slimness (no bloatware) and items from google edition with one or two Sense items.

FWIW, I too would be interested in having the HTC gallery app. Has anyone got it working with a GE ROM?

i would love this as well.
Where is the Zoe camera app for Google edition? does it work perfectly?

The camera can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351965&page=2
but there is no thread about a working gallery yet...
So you can make Zoe pics and stuff, but can't watch them on the phone without the HTC Gallery. Flashing back to Sense roms, shows all photos and movies made before.

[Q] Stock Android 4.2 for regular HTC One

Would it possible to "officially" put stock android 4.2 for a regular htc one (not the google edition).
Or stock android comes only for htc one google edition?
I think so yes. There are rumors HTC is going to give early buyers of the One a chance to make it a Nexus Experienced device. That's because there will be a Google Edition of the One soon.

Sure, when the Google Edition gets stock android, it can simply be ported over to us Don't know why you'd want it though!

Because I hate Sense. Especially blinkfeed and all that crap. Oh, yeah and facebook pictures popping up in the gallery, etc. etc.
So why buy a htc

[Q] Camera: Sense vs. Stock?

I read the Engadget (or was it Gizmodo) article comparing the two phones and they claimed that Sense camera app took better photos. However, they also said it could just be built-in processing. I don't care much for the built-in filters since I do most of the editing with 3rd party apps. So, I'm wondering whether it's /just/ the processing and not that the Stock app can't take advantage of the bigger pixels. I would flash stock and compare myself but am too lazy to ;P Hoping somebody will. Cheers.

It's roughly the same. AOSP does fine with the 'ultrapixel' camera. They are just talking about the tweaks that HTC put into their camera software. You can do all of this with post processing.

probably not same distance but close. there is a google camera apk from the system dump in the themes and apps section
If you're running an odexed 4.2.2 ROM, you can install the Google Edition's camera and gallery applications (and they won't remove your Sense ones, don't worry) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340853
I'm installing the google edition rom from trickdroid right now, I'll let you know how the camera is

Thanks for the effort, but second pic is shaky so can't really compare.
I took some with both and in daylight I can't tell a difference. I'm going to try some low light shots and see how the GE camera handles it.
First one is GE and second is Sense.

Anandtech has already done a comparison of Stock vs Sense vs Touchwiz camera
http://anandtech.com/show/7107/htc-...s-4-google-play-edition-review-nearly-nexus/4
Is the GE camera capable of doing burst shots like the Zoe does? Also does the OIS work for GE?
These features are a must for me while taking pictures of my kids running around..

Is there a way to have the Zoe app on the GE OS? Or is it deeply integrated into Sense?

That ^.
I use my Sense camera more than anything, I really take advantage of the Zoe feature, but I also have the aosp camera for it's 360 capabilities. If only there were a way to integrate the two, but I had an Evo V prior to my One, and I know how HTC can be with their cameras.

u just answered ur own question

[?] AOSP w/ Zoe?

Anyone know if it's possible to run a AOSP rom and have Zoe functionality in the camera? I am thinking of installing cyanagenmod but want to still use Zoe. Maybe there is an alternative equivalent to Zoe that anyone knows of. I am hoping an AOSP rom will help speed up and and perform overall better.

Will never happen. If your lucky somone will put a zoe-like app in the play store but for whatever reason nobody has tried to ape it yet.
ACTUALLY. If you use the Google Edition rom then you can install the Sense camera and zoe's will work perfectly
well you can shoot the zoes but not view them until you're back on a sense rom.

google edition is not AOSP though and the camera apk does not work on 4.3 GE.
Yup, Google edition is not AOSP. It's more along the lines of a themed AOSP rom.

Yes, I know it's not FULL AOSP. But if you want aosp and zoe/sense camera that's as close as you're gonna get. Also we don't have 4.3 GE, we're still on 4.2.2. Therefore the camera still works

Replacement camera app.

I'm using the latest GPE rom and wanted a recommendation from the community on another camera app that has video recording capability. I've tried the LG camera from play store but video is choppy, maybe it's my settings? Anyways, any recommendations would be helpful. Tia

Honestly, I'm really liking the Google Camera, it's not a huge app but it has all the essentials and works great with the M7.

HTC Sense for 6P

Some of us come from HTC's devices and miss some of the great HTC Sense apps. Well, here they are for your enjoyment: http://www.fulmics.com/htc-sense/
HTC Camera can be found here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-co.../htc-camera-7-30-581119-android-apk-download/
You need HTC Service Pack installed for some apps to function properly.
Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to want to connect or update.

Digitalhigh's ROM also has the Sense apps built-in, and can be updated in Google Play Store.

Thank you so much, now my Nexus p feels like the HTC Phablet Ive been waiting for from HTC. Thanks amillion
Htc does make a great video, camera, gallery and editor! You can install the xposed sensify module and the flash stock M8 or A9 htc camera and gallery and it will work very well.

Awesome!!! Former HTC user myself and love having some of those HTC apps. Is it possible to get the HTC dialer as well? Of all things HTC I miss it the most!! Merry Christmas to you all!!
Good question, I can't find this as a downloaded app, but might be able to pull the file from my M8 or any HTC device and test.

HTC Service Pack force closes constantly. I had to uninstall the apps because it was getting extremely annoying. Hopefully HTC will release an update.

Download the sensify xposed module. Then you can get the latest apps on the market. Mine's been working great since day one. No force closes.

Yes, I had the same issue as you with the downloaded version from xposed. So what I tested was pulling the module that is working in DH's ROM. I figured the one in there works fine. I think that's the new version he's working on for general download. Your mileage may vary.

So, I pulled the dialer app from my M8 with Marshmallow and it looks like it definitely works, but the People/Contacts portion doesn't pull any of the contact info. I'm playing with other related apps to see if I can get it to work. If so i'll report back when and if I figure it out.

Hi. Were you able to port the dialer? I am also looking to use the analog clock widgets without the need to use HTC launcher (I use Nova prime). Any way to do that?
