Wow very nice ROM! Love the transitions, so smooth.
So I found the rotation doesn't work and there's no recovery.
Awesome work! Can't wait for future updates

Fantastic rom!!! thanks for you work!!!!

I know it's a little too early to ask, but could you guys tell me how battery life is after a while? Better or worse than CM10?

Not sure if this is a bug or me being stupid but I've turned on the gestures in security and I've tried to turn then off but it won't recognise the gesture now and I can't do anything to change it
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app

No recovery built into this rom so you know
Edit: rotation is not working

this was the best rom i've tried on note 2 :good::good::good:
Eagerly waiting for the official stable updated release!

Alright folks, here's another update... 4.3 is officially merged!! I just did the last part of it and caught with CyanogenMod as far as frameworks goes.
Reference here to see what I'm talking about: IllusionProject Frameworks/base
Of course there's loads of things to iron out, but the overwhelming part of merging 4.3 is now behind us!
I'm still not going to promise an ETA, but I will be doing what I can to get everything functioning the way it needs to be. Thanks peeps for remaining patient through a busy part of my life recently. There's quite a bit in store for 2.5. I may even release a alpha version of 2.5 so you guys can get your hands on a 4.3 build with all the cool nifty features and such :victory:.

It's a CM base not stock - it won't work on a locked bootloader period. Only Sony firmware based roms for locked bootloaders.

Got it, thanks. Nevermind that then. I guess I will never get any of those awesome roms since I can never unlock my bootloader.....

Okay Guys got the 4.3 to boot up ,I know we are a little late to the party ...still...BTW no PA PIE and Hybrid for now...Next version Hybrid ...got halo and ribbons right now...and a new theme...its in alpha stage right now...
KeyLimePie theme will be hosted on Google Docs, along with a new theme called KeyLimePurple lol (i think).

Phone Bricked
I flashed the ROM for Xperia Z and my phone got bricked. Now its on boot loop with recovery lost... I've got a locked bootloader.
Does this ROM require an unlocked bootloader coz while flashing I got a msg saying "Flashing Kernel" which obviously won't work since I got a locked bootloader. So any solution for this?. Right now I am using sony pc companion to repair my Phone

Wont it be better to base it on the CM9 where everything works, and just fix the framework for it ? Because the JB ROM has problems with the drivers and the kernel

I prefer jelly bean, on other devices like ours it runs smother in some areas of the UI, so thats why im porting it from another device until it starts to run faster.

And what exactly should we the "users" do? Should i have a closer look at the ROM and provide you a logcat or do you have other testers and you're working on this ROM and we should wait for the next release?
KoolSavas95 have point you can just get the cm10 framework on top of the cm9 base
Cheers

I'm a nub to development so alas probably wouldn't (but not for long) be able to write any fixes for you however I am more than willing to test and write bug reports. I am learning to program Android devices and am thinking of buying a Wildfire to network unlock, custom ROM, and install rooted apps so I can resell for a profit. I started with an EVO3D and my first one took me 4 days to figure out (someone gave it to me for free bricked and I got it working again. I then went around to the pawn shops where I live and bought 2 more locked EVOs then resold them via classified adverts online. Sadly till I get either another way to donate to those specific devs which without their how-to's and tools I would never have had more than a 6oz paperweight and never had such a great time learning etc... I don't have Paypal and only a pay-as-you-go credit card. So I am having trouble setting up a Google wallet, I am working on that.
Anyway even when I get that donation bit sorted I still want want to help out and learn as much as I can so that I too one day, barring a stroke brought on by trying to grasp some of the more advanced stuff involved or act of God will become a developer too like yourselves. I also velieve in open source and by donation principles. And any apps, ROMS, Themes, etc... that I create in the future will be marketed in the same way. So if there is anything that I can do please let me know and I will to the best of my ability. And as I am still a nub if you have any pointers towards my achieving the gaol of developer etc... I am all ears.
Hope this finds you well may all your bugs be easy to fix.
Even though this is a port you still need to put a link in the op to the original rom or source used. Thanks in advance.

Added link to original thread.
Rebased on galaxy mini rom because its LDPI, getting closer to booting
Also ported CM9.1 from the same thread, it boots and im just tweaking it, plus its all LDPI so no re-sizing issues
I hope u can get the wifi working . In the build from source we still dont know how to get it working.
But very nice that u try to get it booting
AOKP jb boots!!!!!!!!!!:victory:
How did you get it to boot?
nice one
I think he edited the boot.img, but dont know it for sure. If it was the boot.img, i already could give u one that should have booted JB.
Now my bigest hope for your project is that the wifi will be working. If u got the fix i would happely know so we can bring CM10 from experimetal state to alpha/beta state
No boot.img changes, just a couple of libs
But whenever the screen is locked, the rom goes back to boot animation and bootloops from then on
hmm, dont know what that could be. But did u try the wifi when the screen is still on , would like to know if it works or not

[ROM][ALPHA] Official Xperia T alpha JB SW from Sony

Hi all devs,
This thread is intended for developers who want to give feedback on the alpha JB ROM.
See full post on Developer World.
Today we are making an early alpha ROM of Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) available for Xperia™ T and the open source archives, as a way for us to get valuable feedback from the custom ROM community. Thanks to the great dialogue we have with open community developers, we see this as a valuable tool for us to get more input, and for the open developer community to get to try this alpha out hands-on. The ROM does not have the final UI upgrades that will be in the official release.
Please note that this ROM is strictly targeting advanced developers, and it will not work for ordinary everyday usage, as it only has a limited set of features working (you can for example not make any phone calls). Several more legal and usage conditions apply – please see the Important information section in the post for more details.
Important information
Since this is far from the final software upgrade roll out, there are a few requirements to pay close attention to before you download and install the ROM:
• You should be an advanced developer with extensive knowledge in how to install and switch between different ROMs. If you are a consumer without these developer skills, then we strongly recommend you not do try this as you may damage your phone.
• You must be using an unlocked Xperia™ T. It will not work on a locked Xperia™ T.
• You must unlock your phone using Sony’s Unlock boot loader service, and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader of your phone. Sony can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unusable functions or loss of personal data associated to the alpha ROM being flashed to the phone.
• Also, if you unlock the boot loader, you will not be able to download and install the final Jelly Bean upgrade from Sony. For additional information about limitations and warranty restrictions, please see Sony's Unlock boot loader service.
• You should have read through and acknowledged the limitations of the software described below.
Only a limited number of features and functionalities are working and turned on in this alpha ROM.
These are some of the features that are turned off or not yet working in this alpha ROM:
• Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps are not included (for example, Gmail, Google Maps, etc.).
• Modem is turned off and the SIM card will therefore not be recognised (this also means you can’t make any phone calls).
• Bluetooth™ is turned off.
• Wi-Fi® is turned off.
• FM-radio is turned off.
• NFC is turned off.
How to install the Jelly Bean alpha ROM
To install the alpha ROM on Xperia™ T please connect your Xperia™ T to our Sony flash tool for unlocked devices and install the Jelly Bean alpha ROM. Check out the Sony flash tool page for more information on how to download, install and use this tool.
The Jelly Bean alpha ROM will be a clean flash, so make sure you do a proper back up of everything on your phone before you flash it. Please note that there is another software version available for Xperia™ T smartphones in the Sony flash tool for unlocked devices, as it is possible to flash Xperia™ T with an official Ice Cream Sandwich software versions well.
Developers, please let us know what you think!
One of our ambitions with this release is to get feedback from the great developers in the open community So if you flash this Jelly Bean alpha ROM and download the open source archives, please provide us with tech and developer feedback.
Hope to get your tech and dev feedback!
/Kalle
this is what we needed
proper libs to continue our work
thanks
J
Very nice!
Reserved this post for my feedback which will come in 1 - 2 days after testing and playing with it

Great work,
A nice general warning here - this is only to be used on unlocked phones via EMMA and is really only for developers not the consumer/end user. If you try and flash this on a locked phone your device will boot to a black screen and you will have to go back to the Sony Upgrade Tool to flash an official ICS software package.

Actually, since this is just a preview and doesn't have important things working, don't link to it in the all-in-one. This is not for the end user at all, and in fact encouraging people to check this out can cause more issues than not.
Wow. Nice - will test and this will be an awesome help for CM10 and CM10.1.

<3 the fact sony is using a 3.4 kernel :win
wow.. great work sony
looking forward for this release, hope no more graphic lag (homescreen especially)
Does it mean that we are going to get some stable ROMS based on official JB with 3.4 kernel for 2011 xperias? You guys are awesome
Thank you Kalled, and most importantly thank you Sony, for being one of the very few manufacturers that fosters the development and customization of the ecosystem.
And thanks in advance to all the dev's who are prime to put this to good and practical use.

Thank you for all your hard work! You're one of the few I've seem developing for the i9505g.
UPDATE: Its almost midnight here in Hawaii but I wanted to let everyone know I added an extended power menu, removed more junk, deodexed the ROM and centered the clock on the notification bar.
I have a few more edits and then I will upload the file tomorrow night. I may have one more basic update and then I am going to focus on my two other projects for this phone which is a from Source ROM and the TW port to give us some variety.

Yes, I am on the MH1 baseband and it showed the update on first boot. I may just restore 4.3 anyway until one of your other ROMs come out. 4.3 runs great for me. Are your in the work ROMs 4.2.2 or 4.3?

For everyone else as to why there is so little ROM dev for the GE S4 it is because you should be able to use any ROM made for the international S4. At least any AOSP/CM based mod.

[GUIDE/INFO] Which ROM is the best for my needs?

I see a lot of threads created by users with one question:
What is the BEST ROM for the Sony Xperia SP?
These kind of threads are not allowed here on XDA so I almost instantly report them
Well to give a straight answer to the question:
NONE!!!
Ofcourse you want to know Why?
~ Well lets start with the very beginning shall we?
There are a lot of diffrent custom ROMS. I know of the following:
No doubt there are more but I dont want a list that is miles long
CyanogenMod
AOSP (Android Open Source Project)
AOKP
Panandroid
MIUI
Omni ROM
Crystal PA
Carbon ROM
And ofcourse we have ROMS that are Stock Based.
To define Stock Based: Stock based are ROMS made from the firmware that has been released for any phone.
Below you see a picture with the Plain Stock Android Look and Sony UI:

}
This is one of the major diffences between the Plain Stock Android (from Google) and the Plain Stock from Sony. Ofcourse this is not the only diffrence. ROMS like CyanogenMOD, AOKP, AOSP, Omni and Panandroid do have the looks of Plain Android from Google.
As you may know by now Sony has his own Skin (duh!).. This skin is a layer on top of the Plain Android build from Google and includes:
Diffrent looks
Other App drawer
Other Homescreen layout
Other phone, conctact and messaging apps
Themed settings app
Themed Statusbar
Sony is the only brand that has his own theme engine!! Other brands like HTC, LG and Samsung have their own device/brand specific things
~ Some other layers on top of Android:
Samsung Touchwiz (Galaxy S4) against Sony UI:
HTC Sense 6 (From the M8) agains Sony UI from the KitKat update or Z2:
The above pictures only shows the diffrence between all the looks of the homescreen.. These diffrence are also found in:
App Drawer
Statusbar and notification area
Settings
On Screen buttons (only if the phone has them)
Apps
~ Lets get back to the Custom ROM talk shall we?
The main issue with most users is the performance of all the ROMS.. Plain Stock ROM released by Sony should be stable for daily use. This is not always the case and Sony is not the only brand that has issues with either updates, or their software.. Let me recall a few things:
Huawei Acend P6: 1 big bug. Wifi does not reconnect automaticly.. Wifi needs to be turned off and on again for connection
Samsung Galaxy S2: Update from GingerBread to Ice Cream Sandwich had battery drain issues
HTC One X: Hardware issues; poor wifi signal
Samsun Galaxy S3: No KitKat due to ammount of bloatware from Samsung
Samsun Galaxy Advance: Major lag since Jelly Bean update
So we are not allone when it comes to software or in some cases hardware. :victory:
Back to performance....
We all know that hardware plays a big part in terms of performance. Our Sony Xperia SP has good hardware for a mid end device.
Our hardware in short:
Snapdragon Dual Core running 1.7 Ghz
Adreno 320
1 GB RAM
All the ROMS will be running just fine on our device.. Our hardware is good enough to run it without issues..
We only need to remember a few words:
Testing, Alpha, Beta, Stable, WIP
Testing: Build is done but still in testing.. Things could be removed, added or fixed in a later build
Alpha: Build works proper but there are some bugs that keep the ROM from being a daily driver
Beta: Build is working enough for a daily driver but there are still some bugs
Stable:Build is stable enough for daily use. All the major issues and bugs are fixed and gone but it is possible you encounter one or two.
WIP:Work In Progress. ROM is build but far from stable and the work is in progress
Almost all the ROMS for our device are either in Beta or in Stable status. Which means that all the ROMS are working proper enough for daily use!
Thanks to all the hard working developers!! Thanks guys
But lets stop here for a second.. Not all the ROMs have the same feeling or gaming performance (as stated by some users) as stock ROM... Why is that...
This is an question I just dont know how to answer. All the ROMS are using other sources from other developers ( or development teams) so it is possible that a bug or optimatisation is missed. Just keep reporting bugs an issues to the developer and someday it will be fixed
So before I end this massive post I need you to do a small check list:
I want Root? (if Yes go to 3 if no go to 2)
Dont change anything
Root the device and go to 4
I want a custom ROM? If yes go to 6 if no go to 5
Install a pre rooted Stock ROM (See Android Development)
I am able to unlock my bootloader (Yes I can but I dont want to; go to 7, No I cant; go to 7, Yes i will unlock it; go to 8)
Install any custom ROM for Locked Bootloaders (Yes you can choose CyanogenMod for LB Look in the Original Android Development Section)
Unlock the bootloader and install any custom ROM you want!
How do I know which custom ROM suits my needs?
Answer:
BACK UP AND TRY OUT!!
You need to determine the following things for yourself:
Do I want the latest Android version?
Do I want to have Plain Android?
Do I want the SonyUI?
Am I willing to test things out?
Please remember some of the development rules:
Do not ask for ETA
Do not post issues without proper documentary like logcat, dmsg etc
Do not spam the development thread for requests
Be nice to each other
Be nice to the developer because he or she has worked hard on their rom
Moderator request : Make this a sticky thread...
Finally someone said it with big letters..Thank you @mrjraider !
That would be the third or fourth thread of me that is a stickey

I hope this thread will help users with their dilemma of ROMS.. If not do not hesitate to ask any questions here
Also I will try to update this thread from time to time
And I believe that these kind of threads should also be made in the General Android section of XDA

None : they all have little problems but these are different for each ROM. Again a problem could make one user consider the ROM unstable but not another user depending on their usage.

The Sweetner Pack is an ALL IN ONE aroma installer for your CandyKat Rom. It's meant to theme various aspects of UI and Lockscreen. This style of theming was hatched in the Candy Shop threads on XDA developers. It is the foundation of the vision and concept of the Rom. For more mods please visit your devices' Candy Shop thread. The Sweetener Packs will contain exclusive themes and mods just for CandyKat Rom. We will be updating libs and adding themes regularly!

hi
I know this is a testing build and not done but i was wondering if u could maybe port it for t210/r from this if u dont mind me asking
I'll definitely try once I get this one stable.
This rom should also be ported to the SM-T217T :fingers-crossed: that would be awesome...It's nice to see CandyKat on the T217S tho, awesome work
Oh my god! Finally a Rom for Sprint grab 3. I hope you get everything working. I'm so sic of stock. There's really no options. Do you know will this work with latest baseband NE7 once you get bugs worked out?

Can't thank you enough for your effort. This tab has been treated like a leper of the tab 3s for such a long time. This rom installed fine and seemed to work as it should. I've had the chance to try CM11 by eloper. The only thing that didn't work was the camera. Maybe he can chip in as to what stops wifi and BT from running here. I've also noticed a slight flickering which also existed in CM11, which has never been figured out by the dev. That, however, is nothing more than a minor annoyance and hence shouldn't be a priority of any kind. Would love to contribute except I'm totally out of my depth in this department. The only thing I can do is test.

I'll just tell everybody now; I don't do ports. I build from source. Not trying to sound like a jag, just sayin'. If you can get me device, kernel, and other repo files, or a local_manifest from git, I can try builds for other tabs. But, porting is tough and the success rate is low. I'm better at doing it this way.

I don't believe that the baseband version will be an issue, because the ROM is 4.4.4. You don't need to worry about whether you are 4.2.2 or 4.4.2. I could be wrong.

Kinda feeling that way myself. But, after I build Candykat, Beanstalk, and maybe slim for this badboy, I will share the wealth.

Keep in touch then, because as I move forward with this and hopefully another ROM or two, I will definitely need a tester to help with debugging and such. Thanks for your support.
I'll be working on this ROM over the next couple days and the weekend. If anyone has ideas, tips, help to offer, or any other kind of assistance, I am all ears. Hopefully I'll be able to work out some issues and get this ROM to daily driver status very soon. I HATE STOCK!
Stay tuned.....
Always back up your rom
I think it's worth mentioning that you should make a backup of whatever you're running before you flash this. This is a 4.4.4 ROM, and I have read that users running a later ROM version have experienced bricks trying to flash back to an earlier version(for example, flashing back to 4.2.2). DON'T LET THIS BE YOU. Your backup from an earlier version will cause you no problems. Trying to 'downflash' can be a huge problem apparently. ALWAYS BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING NEW... and restore your former ROMs....don't attempt to downgrade....just sayin'....:highfive:

Yes I got my device files from interloper. I am currently running that build on my tablet. Carbon had no WiFi when I flashed it. I have compared the CM build and my own and have not yet found the problem.

No. As of last nights build and test; still no WiFi, Bluetooth, camera, or storage access. Hopefully I can make some progress over the weekend.

Excited to see this! Will flash tonight! Thanks Dev!
Edit: can't find the download link....?

Flashed and lost root....? I installed superuser but no luck. That always seems to happen to me with AOSP/AOKP ROMs, what am I doing wrong?
BMP777 Thanks!!!
BMP7777,
Thanks for developing this tablet. Looking forward to your progress. Just picked one of these up. I'll be happy to test. Wish I could do more. I can offer support with a donation which I'm more than happy to do!! Thanks again!!
