I was getting bored of the stock Sony boot animation on my XZ and decided it was time for a change!
So I took the boot animation from the Galaxy S4 Google Edition and replaced the Google logo with the Xperia logo using Photoshop
Hope you like it!
It should work on any firmware on the Z, ZL and ZU.
Installation using CWM/TWRP (ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download and flash the XperiaGoogleBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post, simples.
Or if you don't have a custom recovery (AGAIN ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download bootanimation.zip from the bottom of this post
Copy it to your SD card (internal or external)
Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, move the downloaded bootanimation.zip to /system/media and overwrite when prompted.
Make sure the permissions are set to rw- r-- r--
Reboot and enjoy!
To revert to the stock boot animation:
Flash the StockXperiaBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post using CWM or TWRP.
Please ask me first if you want to use it in your ROM.

It should work on any version, just push it to system/media + give permissions or flash thru cwm (the package, not pure bootanimation)

you mean the preview? dont use the XDA app, load it through chrome or another browser.

It would probably look a bit strange as the resolution is set to 1080x230 (designed for 1080p devices).
I'll see about resizing it to the Xperia U resolution, it might take a little while.

That's strange, I'm on mebitek too, and zip worked... but I noticed that some zips randomly don't want to flash for the first time, second time always works
tried on stock roms, but didn't work out. boot animation just goes blank.

It was tested on emanon 7, and it worked... try extracting bootanimation.zip and put it manually
When doing it manually set permission as followed:

works on stock ron bro..tried on Emanon v6/7 and also on Andro-id v3.3.1

Just use root explorer or es file manager and put bootanimation.zip in /system/media and set permissions... and about screenshot, it works for me you can search youtube for nexus7 bootanimation

Sony has used a new horizontal all white battery icon in Xperia Z2 KitKat firmware..
To install it on your Xperia Z, it must be rooted, just download the below mentioned file and push it in system/media/app folder and replace it with the available file. Set correct permissions rw-r-r and do reboot. Kindly make a backup of original file before replacing it with the modded one.

here try the one i uploaded its only for .569 fw... cannot get the battery % icon from sirius cause thats more than just editing image files.
this one has a smaller sirius normal white battery and status bar handle.
When i replaced it, and set the permissions, when restarting systemui just fc, another questiin is where are the battery pictures located in the app, when decompiled?

It worked for me,using eXistenZ v6.1, u need to edit it to SystemUI.apk it will overwrite your file.

I just checked systemUI and Sony is still using old png's for battery but there's new icon + stamina icon that, as someone already said - can't be added with just image editing.
We should add new somc_battery strings (battery and stamina icins are merged now) and that's, for me too much job for that new icon that I really don't like.
First thing when Kitkat comes will be to replace new battery icon with old one

I did mine by using an image processing software like Chasys Draw. Then changed the resolution exactly for xhdpi and removed alot of noise. I'll share it when my net is better.

Of course, but that doesn't mean it'll show all assets right.
I'm supporting only xxhdpi devices in my themes (mainly because theme size).
So, it should work on all xxhdpi devices but even then, some devices could have problems...

If the wallpapers only changed so you need to reflash the rom
If you have superuser mod enabled and didnt worked too so make sure the reflashing is the only way to fix

ps. backup your data ONLY, via TWRP recovery then do full wipe from philZ or CWM and install using CWM or philZ and after you finish boot to system and wait few time the go back to TWRP and restore the data backup!

I have xperia z(C6603_10.5.A.0.233_HK.ftf) root whit (EasyRootTool_v7) she is the same ?

you can use any FTF/zip
make sure you have a working dual recovery so you can backup your data as i told you
