(q) how do you clean your htc one? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I work at a semi conductor parts cleaning facility and have used verious methods on cleaning my HTC one.
I use chemicals to clean and reshine my HTC one, I am having trouble with the whites on the silver version ie: the lines above and below the camera and in between the edges on the side.
Any suggestions.
Sorry if this post has been created before.
I use no case on my one, I prefer to not hide it's beauty from the world I use a dremel diamond cut for the chamfered edges whenever they get Knicks
The problem I am having with the edges is that my jeans have gave a blue tint to the white.

LG washer...hot wash...cold rinse....medium spin.....towel drying....

Funny. I remember my first joke.

I had the same issue with the blue of my jeans tinting the whites of the One. My solution was simple: Ghost Armor screen protector with a Poetic Atmosphere case. I know you mentioned that you didn't use a case, but without a physical barrier between the phone and your jeans, the blue will always smudge off.

What chemicals have you used to clean the phone?
I had issues with a case staining the white stripes on the back. I was able to get it back to looking new with nail polish remover and isopropyl alcohol.

I've used a nitric acid mix very very diluted.

Bugger messing around with that. I stuck a double dip and screen protectors on mine as soon as it was out of box. I love the look but I wanna protect it with my job and look at the beauty of it when I'm safe at home lol. I just give it a little wipe though.

Touch-up paint?

So I happened to drop my nexus one in a parking lot (bringing my 3yo daughter in to the er...phone wasn't my priority) and scratched some of the unibody at the top of the phone. I had an invisible protector on it (skinomi) but it still got damaged. Anybody know if there's some touch-up paint available anywhere for it? The damage isn't terrible, but I'd prefer to not try to match colors with automotive paint if I can avoid it.
Thanks for any help

Scratch-proof color without case and back film??

Hi all,
I know we will have to touch and feel & wait for through reviews when HTC One comes out. However, just like many of you, I pre-ordered one and I can't decide between silver and black. To be honest, I like silver and black and I don't think both colors can't go wrong. I am planning to use HTC One either black or silver without case nor film on the back or side. Which color do you think more prone to scratch based on previous experience? We know Iphones have almost identical material with similar color scheme.
get the silver one if you want scratch proof.
Silver will not show scratches. Black will show deep scratches, but HTC has much experience with aluminum phones unlike Apple, so they make sure to have the treatment go very deep to prevent the bare metal from showing.
No i both phones are anodized but the they did something else on top of the anodized aluminum to apply the black color. Then they applied some coating to avoid scratches. In short the black one isnt pure anodized aluminum. Search the video of the interview of htc's hardware designer

GUYS GUYS GUYS PLEASE CHILL
both colors are sexy...... and i found this video might helps you
thats what HTC used last year, a process called Micro Arc Oxidation....... so imagine now with new process
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teWhc6Ysflc
Micro Arc Oxidation is garbage. pure anodization is the best way.
Cool! So it won't scratch off and show red like the OG evo

Screen Protector - has anyone managed to get one on smooth

I have bought some htc screen protectors for the htc one and cant get it on successfully without the bottom left or top right being
not flush to the phone (ive tried both ways)
Is the screen completely flat or is there a curve on it ?
has anyone managed to get a screen protector successfully attatched to the whole screen ?
Bugging hell out of me
help
thanks
I got close, no air bubbles what so ever except the only thing wrong is like you said, a small part of the protector doesnt stick to the screen on the top left of the screen :l its bugging me too. I might just rip it off and apply a new one, see if thats any better.
I might cut a bit off. I use HTC's cover one with red and grey so I can lose a bit
Glad it's not just me

I got one on on properly, it's a spare from my One X, had to cut it a bit, but it is flat, no bubbles, doesn't cover the whole of the screen but covers the viewable screen and and leaves a gap of a couple of mm on each side.
Only problem with mine was when i went to take off the top part once it was fitted, the little pull piece came off! So i have the protective cover with its protective cover on it!
Lol I'm going to try to cut one down slightly on the top left
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I'm leaving it on until my other protectors arrive, ordered the one's posted in another thread from here, X treme guard.
Wet application, so should be a lot easier to fit properly. Can't go wrong for £2.38 for 2 full protection (front and back) sets with free postage!
Do they post to the UK ? Presume so with you quoting £

Yes, free postage to UK, will take about 3 weeks to get here but should give me a choice of options, either protective skin front and back if they look ok, or front protective skin and slim case for back. (ordered this one....Slim transparent case.
Theres quite a few different screen protectors on eBay I was looking at but want a perfect fit so looking at the official one I find screen protectors easy to apply, but people are having problems... thoughits not v clear whats the problem. Is it too big? or just bad application? Do you guys not align it prior to application to get an idea of the location and spacing needed?
Finally after a lot of trial and error managed to get one on properly this thing isn't coming off anytime soon

M8 rear camera cover scratches

So, I've had my m8 for a month and a half maybe, with a spigen slim armor case on it at all times. After cleaning my rear lens cover yesterday ( with a soft microfiber cloth) I noticed many small scratches right above the lens area.. Seriously?? I am super careful with my phone, considering I'm really into mobile photography as well. Is the cover made out of plastic?? Whenever I had whipped it in the past, always used extreme care. I can't believe that it's scratched.. Really bums me out that htc would use such weak materials to cover the camera lens. Other than that, the phone is great, no doubt. I can't imagine what it's going to look like in 6 months though.. Any others noticed the same ?

Mine is scratched to hell . my pics look hazy . there has been a lot of people with the same issue and some have been getting there's replaced .

After reading some threads like this I ordered a protector to cover both lenses. Wish I could remember the name now, but you get 2 sets for $3 and I've not seen any effect in pictures. God I wish I could remember the name. Would search but late for work.
Edit: Slickwraps.com
do you guys have cases cuz i have a
OB and mine are fine!
Mine!
I do not use a case, my preference.
My camera window is also scratched with a lot of micro scratches.
My question is, if people are replacing the windows, where are they purchasing the part from? Anyone have a link to a replacement parts site?
I use a tpu case . this is the only smart phone I've had that had this issue and I've owned a lot .

stop putting your phone in your pocket often
I actually was able to remove scratches...I sprayed resurfacing fluid from a CD scratch repair kit then put a dab of toothpaste on my fingertip and rubbed it in for about a min or two....scratches gone and pics are clear

After doing some additional research, I found many people having the same issue, that is possibly caused by heating, resulting in the coating not sticking correctly. There is also the assumption that the protective coating was never removed when manufacturing/assembly. I noticed that with slight pressure with just my fingernail on the front camera , same thing happens.. the coating scratches. And btw (for who thinks this is the cause) having the phone in your pocket has zero effect on this issue. I baby my phone , and always have a case on it, and would never put in anything else. Glad there is a simple fix, by removing the coating. However, a good idea would be to purchase a lens protector from slickwrapes just in case.

Yup, got mine almost done too.. Need a little extra work around the edge, and it's all clear again. I was really bummed out about this until I found out that there was a solution. I love my M8 once again lol. Looks like the front camera has the same thing as well.

Looks like it happened to me as well. Lens cleaner and microfiber cloth took care of it for me.

It happened to me too. My camera lens cover got all scratched and pictures were coming out really hazy... I took mine to sprint i told them I think its a camera software issue and they ordered me a new one. I'll be sure to take better care of this new one.

Well yes, but idk how they got there. My front camera and duo lens were the ones affected. I always have a case on and never have put my phone in any pockets. Only idea I have is cleaning my phone, in which I clean the lenses but shouldn't "scratch" from that. Just seems like a cheap clear coat that easily removes.

[Q] Red colour HTC One paint wearing off

Hi guys. I have a red HTC One. Now, ive dropped it a few times. Ive noticed that the red paint has started wearing off and the silver patches can now be seen. The most damage has happened on the bottom edge of the phone. Sadly, the damage is visible eben with the flip cover on. I know its not a really big issue, but the phone is really beautifully designed and its a pity that the drops have messed the phone. Is there a kind of paint or something that can mask the damage? I understand the body cannot be repaired as its unibody.
I would appreciate any kind of help. Thanks

bring your phone to any car paint supplier so they can scan your phone color and make you a 2 oz bottle of paint (used for touch up on car)
I don't know if you went that route, but you could always use modeling paint. Did that on my blue one and looks superb. Like there was no paint missing.

I know it has been a couple of years, but do you remember what color shade the blue was?
It was a clear metallic blue from hobby lobby if memory serves correctly. The silver didn't chip off so I used clear blue. I forgot if it had metallic chips or not. It was generic blue though. Nothing special like turquoise or baby blue. Just regular clear blue. I have tons of modeling paint, so I can't tell you which bottle I used.
