Wildfire, patience I note is a virtue...and given the short amount of time this device went to several stable 4.2.2 versions, it's worth the wait. Meanwhile I'm going to figure out which GAPPS is compatible with 4.3, because the 20130308 version doesn't appear to be..

Ok...so the gapps I have that works with PACman Milestone (20130812) is probably ok?
(5 mins later after reading another thread) CRAP! nope that gapps is for 10.1/4.2.2 not 10.2/4.3.X!!!!

I apologize to the moderators since this is in the wrong place, but I can't post to the development forums yet. In response to albinoman887's request to test in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343586&page=76 I flashed the zip released this morning and then flashed the boot.img. I have also removed the linero.config.svdo=true from my build.prop. The radio is not getting a stable connection. Wifi and camera work and I can see both the internal and external SD cards. If you need anything further, I'll be happy to test for you.
A little more information: When it's not working, I can go into the APN list and it's blank. Clicking on add then backing out if it causes all of the AT&T APNs to appear. It won't fix the issue however, because after a few seconds it clears out again.

hey there. try two things.. first of all... add that build prop setting back.. reboot.. when you get the apns to come up again. check the default apm. see what the APN type is, is it just default? if it is, delete it and find the apn that has this as APN type : default, supl, hipri. then set that apn to default...
i found this "fix" here.. by googling your issue dont know if it will fix or not...but i guess you do want that build.prop setting i just talked to dastin
herse where i found tha ttip if you wanna read more: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40203
also hit me up on gtalk/hangouts if you use it and are a knowlegable computer user who knows how to flash things manually copy files etc. i'm sending yo a pm with my email address

The default APN is ATT Phone and the type is default, supl, mms.
I created a new one like the previous ATT Phone, except for changing the APN type to what you suggested above. Still getting the same results.

yeah. i think you want ATT LTE to be default. look through all of them and find the one that says APN type default, supl, hipri. and make that your default
EDIT: yeah i dont think its just that setting that is different...there are more...so instead do what i said above. look for the one that is already set up with that as the apn type. (i think its ATT LTE) and set it as default

ok, hey 3 more posts and you can post in the dev forum!

Something went wrong, as now I can't get the APNs to show up at all. I'm going to wipe and start over. If you need me on hangouts I'm there for a little bit. I'll have a meeting to go to in about an hour and a half.

One thing I've noticed just now is that as long as I'm connected to wifi, the radio is stable. I can make calls, send texts, etc. The APN list doesn't disappear either. Hope that helps.
---------- Post added at 01:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 PM ----------
Yeah this seems to be related to wifi somehow. Calls instantly go to voicemail with wifi turned off. With it turned on I can get my calls and I'm showing a 4G connection.

Same results as far as the data / radio with the 08/26 11:25AM build. I can say that the camera works for me...even Focal. I can also state that both internal and external SD cards work as well as wifi.
FYI: I've deleted all APNs except for the ATT LTE one and I've set it as default.
---------- Post added at 02:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 PM ----------
There are three Preferred network modes available:
LTE/WCDMA
LTE/GSM/WCDMA (the default)
GSM/WCDMA preferred
When I try to change to a different one, it reverts back to LTE/GSM/WCDMA

We may have the signal issue under wraps. Unless albino wants to use the newer libril then he will do testing and my new pac rom will update to that once it has stability. currently we are working on camera and maybe even fixing sdcard mounting via usb mass storage

i was using 3G with T-Mobile since the euro baseband was released for the Optimus 3D. all you have to do is load the baseband and os onto your phone then go to settings - wireless networks-mobile networks- network mode- 3G only and ucheck use only 2G networks. after a while it would pick up the 3G signal. 4G might work but since I have Simple Mobile 4G isnt activated on my plan. Hope you get it to work for you.
So I need to download the EU baseband and install that. After that do what? When I goto my settings there is no setting for me to turn on or off 3g! There is no settings at all! Can someone please post some pics of this because this is really rubbing me the wrong way. I've been at this for over a week!! Thanks again for everyone who has been helping.

Make sure the phone you have IS the Thrill 4G 3D, for AT&T
after you've made sure is the correct phone, then load the KDZ or BB as is also called and make sure is V21D, I have tried V20C and it doesn't work
So after you've loaded V21D.
let it boot, go into wireless settings, access point, press menu and enter your own T-Mobile APN. The one I use is listed on the other thread about using tmobile 3g on the thrill, look for it, and good luck.
I'll post some screenshots when my daughter comes back from school later today and show the thrill running H on t-mobile network
Ok, did it again and still the same problem. I have a 4g lg thrill. This is crazy, why am I having such a problem?!!
screen shots as promissed
ok I look at your screens and the only thing I see different is that you only have tmobile listed as your apn but I have att phone and att wap listed on my phone. I do have the blue do on my tmbile and I've saved the apn. I think that maybe the problem. Is there a way to get rid of them? Thanks man for all your help, I feel I might get this taken care of.
when you are in the apn screen go into the att ones as if you're gonna modify them
press menu and delete, that should take care of your problem
it wont give me an option to delete or change them. Im going to post some pics of my phone so you can see.

Your problem is you STILL HAVE V20P
get rid of it and flash V21D, and then you'll have option to put your own APN
I see now where it says software version but I've downloaded the v21 6 different times! I've even done a google search and I will end up here for the version. The links I've tried here all give me the same one. I even downloaded another one last night before I went to bed and installed it and I'm still stuck with this one. How big is v21 so I know I have it exactly. I will put up screen shots of my computer to show you how many times I've downloaded them and what they say. If you have a link to where I can get it and you know its the correct one, please post it or send it to me at my name at hotmail. Thanks.

What I think is happening is the lg mobile tool is downloading the v20 and installing that. It always downloads a file that is around 425mb then installs that. What do I need to do to stop that from happening?

if you've followed this thread

and that didn't help you, then start over from the beginning and erase all the lg drivers in your computer, start fresh.
and if that doesn't help, then I guess The Dark Lestat can teamviewer you if he has time.

Need some infor for CM11 development on Atrix HD

So we are in the process of making one build that works on Atrix HD Razr HD and Droid Razr HD. I need someone (preferably on stock) to post the following:
Using adb shell or terminal:
Code:
su
cat /proc/cmdline
getprop
Thanks again. THis will save tons of build time every night for nightlies.
I'm assuming JB, right?
Give me a bit to set Windows up for flashing, get the fastboot, and I'll have that info for you*.....My Windows install doesn't have anything installed except the minimal required drivers for tethering and my Linux is down (having some fun with Funtoo, zfs root, & grub2).
EDIT:

OK so here is the initial test if you are brave enough to back up and test it
Post the output of:

Need to know if radio is working or if I need the specific libqmi and libqc-ril per model. and if the props are setting right.
Unified build for all Motorola msm8960 devices:

What should be different from this one and the nightlies?

Radio works but has the weak LTE/4G signal.
Comes with NFC settings, which the AHD doesn't have. Perhaps an init script to remove the app if it detects the phone as an Atrix HD? We get stupid questions here and I'm 99.99999% positive someone will see them and ask "How come I can't activate NFC? I see it as an option.". The same with CDMA settings, though I'm not sure if that's as simple as removing an app.
Only other thing I saw at first glance is the model number. It's listed as ATRIX HD and not MB886 like it usually is. Could have market issues.

I can disable the NFC during install by deleting the apk and permissions forgot about that.
I'll see if there is a way to disable worldphone via an prop. I set it for the others that can do both.

:good:
I think the gsm/cdma is going to be a bit harder. Those settings depend on a combination of Phone.apk and build.prop settings. On the unified build there's only cdma prop settings, which is OK because since they don't work for us it defaults to (I assume) gsm/wcdma/lte (still labeled as global). Anyhoo, replaced/removed all cdma settings with gsm ones (used the latest AHD CM-11 for reference), factory resetted, and still had the cdma settings available but it was at least using the gsm values I set.
The studying I did last night showed me that, at least with other stock phones' stock roms in our situation, that they ended up replacing Phone.apk from the GSM builds because no amount of build.prop modding would make it gsm only. So far my best solution would be a script (called at the end of the updater-script) to change prop cdma values to gsm for the phones that need it and deal with the cdma options being there. All the quick setting toggles, gsm settings, and all that worked, so as long as the prop values are set and a cdma disclaimer is added to the OP, there shouldn't be too many issues that aren't dumbass related.
I'm gonna look into it more later on today, hopefully a better solution can be found.
OK this build should work just like the regular CM nightlies now the NFC stuff is removed on install. Let me know if there are data/network differences from the official. I may need to use the libqmi/libqc-ril from atrix hd instead of the default ones.

Hot Springs isn't that bad, but all there is to do here is the usual tourist crap, Magic Springs (sucks if you've been to a real theme park), and go to bars (I don't drink)....dammit, and the Horse Track....caused my first car wreck and floods our already over congested streets with even worse drivers. We do have some awesome camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and everything else that's fun outdoors .
With Texarkana you have to deal with even more Texans than usual, so . If ya'll Texans like Texas so much then go back.
Not a problem. Someone has to do it and I'm probably the highest qualified that'll bother.

I gave this a shot and this is what I found:
Once Booted up couldnt sign into google because of no data. Ended up skipping the entire first time boot process.
Once I made it through went to Settings and few things noticed
1) Preferred Network was set by default at Global - I set it to GSM / WCDMA / LTE or any GSM related Network and it will give me Data like it should right after step #2. :good:
2) APNs were set by default to MetroPCS LTE (fast.metropcs.com) so I set it to my APN which is T-Mobile US LTE (fast.t-mobile.com) :good:
3) NFC still there as an Option but is useless even by clicking on it so is totally disabled. :good: (also no FC due to NFC calls on boot) :good:
4)BUILD.PROP File Notes;
a)The line at build.prop ro.sf.lcd_density=320 was NOT added to file so resolution was very small having a guess of 200 default.
b) Default Network was set to 10 instead of what would be for us 9 (ro.telephony.default_network=10)
Other then that everything seen to work.

No access to 3G and overheating during calls

Recently my phone randomly stopped being able to access my country's 3G network such that switching it to access GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto leads to the phone having no reception/signal at all. The only way to get any reception is to switch to 2G via GSM only and thus can only use EDGE data.
However if I call in GSM only or use the EDGE mobile network my phone starts overheating to the point where it will cross 65C when normally (before any of this started happening) it would not cross 34C.
My network provider has indicated several times that I am in fact supposed to be able to connect to the 3G network based on my account information and data settings. I've reflashed my ROM (Android Revoluation 41) but to no avail. Is there any other thing I can try to do? Would installing a completely different ROM or flashing a different radio help?
I would just run a RUU and see what happens.
If that doesn't fix it, it'll probably be hardware related. Although, I've never seen or heard of anything Ile this before.

If that doesn't fix it, it'll probably be hardware related. Although, I've never seen or heard of anything Ile this before.

How exactly do I run the RUU? (is there a guide for that?)

I think my warranty already expired and in any event since I rooted, I would have voided it even if the time didn't pass correct?

If it needed up being hardware, they should honor it.

Yeah, there are guides around here. Just look for a "Returning back to stock."
There's a post in the dev forum with all of the RUU's.
Really all you do is relock and run the exe

I've already flashed a completely different ROM, radio and kernel in addition to using my sim in a different phone (the 3G works there). I might as well shell out the money to buy a new phone it seems as sending to HTC might be hit or miss.
EDIT: I've also noticed that using 2G or calling causes my phone battery's amperage to increase from aroung 800-900 mA (when nothing is being used) to over 2000 mA with just the 2G on (and doing nothing)/calling.

[ROM][Moved to General Populatiion] [Depreciated]

Thanks.

This was discussed in his other thread. Use chrome not chrome beta, long press in the blue download now and open in new tab

The only thing I see not working is NFC... It don't even turns on so might be something in the device tree. I have never used that feature and may never.
Sent from my LG-VS980
Installed this last night and it feels very snappy, can confirm that nfc doesn't turn on. I do get correct carrier info (Verizon Wireless instead of Verizon)
Edit: no GPS either, showing 0/0 satellites on GPS toolbox
Yeah, GPS Status says no GPS device found on device. Rom runs real nice aside from that.

I just now noticed this.. I usually run location on battery saver or high accuracy mode. I will look into it when I get some time.

Not sure if it's fully aosp based or still using cm parts, but it's probably like cm based roms, there's an old commit that needs to be cherry picked forward to get GPS kinda working. Though it's still flaky even with that commit. I have the commits listed on post 2 of that PAC thread, if that's easier than searching JPCs thread for the past where he listed them.
It's the commit for checking if messages are supported or not. Even with that though, GPS will cut in and out in most roms.
Also USB tethering does not work, it says USB not connected. WiFi tethering works though!
As far as the "no GPS found" issue, a rom we had a while back did not have the actual GPS hardware file, after we pulled it from another rom it worked. I forgot where that file is located (/system/etc maybe?), could that be one of the problems?
Edit: /system/lib/ had no libgps, maybe that's where it is supposed to be?

System/lib/lib.utils.so and system/lib/hw/gps.msm8974.so might be gps.generic.so as well.
Fustercluck doesn't work for this ROM, from what I can tell. It hangs on the boot animation.before that everything looked good, but I didn't try GPS or NFC like others reported

This would need reported in the kernel thread so he can see why there is a compatibility issue.

Cdma only

Hey everyone, just was wondering if anyone else was having this issue where the phone won't connect on LTE mode on virgin mobile. Every so often I won't get any connection at all unless I set it to cdma only. I then need to go into dss and reset the connection.
I've tried multiplie roms, kernels, the universal apn fix etc.

It seems like you may have a weak signal to me. I don't think ROMs, kernels, or any fixes can help you in this matter. Does it happen everywhere you go or just in certain locations?
It happens everywhere, I was doing some digging online and it seems to be a fairly common issue. I tried multiple kernels etc because I noticed that it seemed to be better with different ones. Also sometimes, like now, my lte signal is great.
cant get LTE anywhere anytime
I have had this issue since I first flashed this phone back in December with CM11 I called virgin mobile back then and the told me that it wasn't my problem it was a issue they where having in my area so at the time I agreed with them and they even have me half off my bill $18 refund. Since then I have noticed that it wasn't them it was something caused by me flashing the phone. I've been on 5 different Roms and a few kernels nothing seems to change it but I'm not to concerned with it I still get great speed with it in 3g plus I'm on WiFi 18 hours a day so don't really effect me. BUT WHAT IS: I can't sent MMS messages or receive them right now I can't get the IP address etc for the network to work I tried flashing the VMU APN fix but when I did it caused WiFi not to be available (won't turn on) I'm currently on RaptorRomv2. Please if anyone could help with a solution that would be appreciated thanks.

Hello,
Are you on 1.48.652.2 or 1.47.652.1? I'm on Boost Mobile and I noticed the radio was updated on 1.48.652.2 from 1.46.40.1113_2 to 1.46.40.0721. I noticed I get better signal in my area with the new radio. LTE has never been a problem for me, but if you haven't upgraded, maybe this will help you.

That is the newest one, so I don't what to tell you. I have seen quite a bit of people on this forum with LTE/signal problems only with Virgin. I think it is on their side. It is weird, though, since they are a Sprint MVNO and no one on Boost is complaining of these problems.
So 1.46 is newer than 1.48 hows that make sense. I guess it does make Sense run huh lol

I think you misunderstand. 1.48.652.2 is the updated software/RUU that includes everything. 1.46.40.0721 is the updated radio for 1.48.652.2. The old software 1.47.652.1 had the old radio 1.46.40.1113_2. You can get the old software RUU and see if the radio works better for you. If it doesn't, Virgin has a problem that they have to fix.
Here's an update from me, I don't know what happened but I have not had the LTE/3G issue for a while now, pretty much sine the day after I posted this thread. On my end I am going to call this fixed. Only thing I can think is that the software did update from then till now so perhaps it fixed the issue.
