PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space.
Q. How do I access Pie?
A. Swipe your finger from the pie gravity edge (default is the bottom) toward the center of your screen. While keeping your finger on the screen, drag your finger to the desired button and release to click.
Q. My PIE doesn't look like the ones in the screenshots. I don't see the Clock or notifications.
A. Notifications work either through the status bar or PIE. If the status bar is enabled, PIE reverts to just the softkeys. To enable the full PIE experience, enable Expanded Desktop by going to Settings -> System -> Power Menu -> Expanded Desktop (Status bar hidden). Access the power menu and turn Expanded Desktop on.
Q. How do I change PIE colors?
A. Go to Settings -> Hybrid Properties -> Interface and change the Navigation bar color.
Q. Buttons or keyboard rows near the edge of my screen are nonresponsive.
A. PIE's trigger area overlay is covering the edge of your screen. Change either the Trigger Area or Pie Gravity in Settings -> System -> PIE Settings.
Q. I don't like PIE, how do I turn it off?
A. To disable PIE set Trigger Area to None in Settings -> System -> Pie Settings. Remember to disable Expanded Desktop to turn status bar on again.
ROM FAQ
Q.Do I need to do a full wipe before installing this ROM?
A. Unless coming from a previous version of PACman it is highly recommended to do a full wipe before installing. This includes coming from ParanoidAndroid ROMs.
Q.What do the settings in Hybrid Properties do?
A. ParanoidAndroid has an extensive guide to the settings at this thread: [GUIDE][PARANOIDANDROID] A Complete Compendium on ParanoidPreferences [PA-Settings] Please do not post questions related to PA Settings in this thread, they are not ROM specific and all we'll do is point you to that thread.
Q.How do I turn on the Navigation Bar??
A.To enable the NavBar open Hybrid Properties, swipe the screen to the right to peek through to the menu.
Select Interface, now set your desired NavBar size with the slider.
Q.Something isn't working. What do I do?
A. First, make sure you are running the latest stable version. Try a backup data using Titanium and do a full wipe reinstall. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
Q.What is a Experimental Build?
A. Experimental Builds are Linaro builds including O3 strict-aliasing optimizations with highly optimized TWRP recovery and a Over and Under clocked Recovery. They may get updated every week or so. These Builds can be potentially harmful to your device and are not supported by the dev by any means
Q.Can we flash this on Locked Bootloader?
A. No, This requires custom kernel and can never be flashed on locked bootloaders

The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing. Alpha quality software has undergone only the most superficial of testing. It may contain known bugs, and almost certainly contains unknown bugs.

Installed this rom with gapps from slim and temasek kernel. Good impression. :good: Thanks.

Does all the slim Gapps go dark with the Make it dark function?
Also is it possible to turn off the dual panel settings - I can't find the option

No.
You can turn off dual panel. Go to Settings-Hybrid properties-Apps, choose Settings, and set Size to 320, and Layout to 360p.

Sorry guys I was in a rush doing the thread before work. I'll update the FAQ and parts of the thread tonight or over the next couple of days.
Until we start rolling out nighlies I'll be posting builds every second day or so depending on the amount of changes. Most patches from our gerrit from today have been included in this release.

Is it possible to install over pacman 4.2.2 RC1 like you would normally install nightlies?
I'm getting 'Stopped working errors' for:
- dialer (the phone app)
- android.process.acore
Did anyone manage it?
I think its too much work to wipe everything and go through the process of setting up everything for 4.3 android that doesn't bring anything new.

Downloading, will test ASAP.
EDIT: So far this ROM is very confusing, the paranoid per app DPI change settings don't seem to work, either the settings won't save or the sliders won't slide.
Will keep testing.

got excited and flashed it,i can confirm that sliders do not work, anyway, thanks for the rom, hoping for an update,PACrom is really fun to play with.
This, as with ANY CM10.* ROM, must be trimmed to fit and work on our phones. Look at Rashed's threads for instructions, suggestions. A few: Anything that can be installed from Play does not belong either on the ROM of the gapps. Stuff that you will not use, take off both using any UI zip tool or Bill Wekel's trimmer. Voice recognition (old style! new will not work at all.) srec can be symlinked to sdcard. Move most the othe ringtones there as well--android will find them. Fonts which you cannot read can be removed. Etc. Etc. There is a new calendar on Play so no need for calendar.apk on ROM or gapps. Google Now, VoiceSearch and some others are installable as user-apps. Do this and remove from /system or from gapps if already done.
You do not need a lot of space on system in excess of desired gapps but you need some. Check before proceeding. If there is enough room on /system and on /data (if using link2sd, read my postings on link2sd's Achilles heel!), then everything should work.

Hi Marco,
Thanx for the ROM...itz pretty smooth & stable enough for daily use.
Bugs :- Video Recording & Panaroma is not working.
Edit 1 :- Video Rec suddenly started working , issue with panaroma exists.
Sent from my Optimus One.
Pls ignore my comment if itz against XDA rules or sounds like an ETA.
Thanks to everyone for reporting. I will try fix the bugs. Please wait
Lol,i can t believe we have tablet UI on our o1.The development for o1 has no limits apparently.I tried this rom,is smooth enough, something new but...not very practic.I mean the screen is 3.2 " with a 320x480 rez...text is too small, you can select anything else very often, etc. But is good work,so thanks
Thanks TS, another Great ROM, Long Live O1!
Is development of this rom on hold or its dead?
( Not trying to mock to the dev , just interested if its still alive)

Today i will improve the rom and delete unnecessary files
Thnx for the update marcomarinho 9
And by the way, are these gapps pulled from rashed's thread or these are for Paranoid Android??
Asking this because people had problems when they flashed normal gapps, but the problem got away after gapps for PA(talking about ics PA, maybe problem can arise here too)
Dont forget to update the thread when u have time.
:fingers-crossed:
Interesting rom. I like Paranoid and AOKP settings.
rom is amazing
but video recording sometimes fc n playback is a known issue..

Bugs & PAC FAQ
Bugs
Stable build v23 has problems with superuser. Install super su from playstore or flash the nightlies where this problem is fixed
Some functions of Rom Control do not work, one example is Signal/WiFi custom colours. Rom Control & AOKP are being worked on to bring these items up to date and fully functional.
PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space. PIE is what you see in this image.
A.First, make sure you're running the latest version. Try doing a full wipe(wipe data/factory reset and format system) and reflash the ROM + Gapps. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
A BIG thank you to IconRunner for putting together the FAQ!! :good:

Hey ixanza..got an idea...
How abt decompiling the camera.apk of stock....then convert it into java using jd-gui..... compare with aosp cam and make changes....or make the stock camera framework independent...... we once used labrynith apk...and turned it into our own app...for fun...but it was framework independent. Pm me if you are interested......

Re: [WIP][ROM][JB 4.2.2][PA3.00][AOKP-MR1][CM10.1]P.A.C True All in 1 ROM[26/02][V20.
Actually camera is lib dependent...Samsung has closed source libs, so some of them can't work properly...

Not possible. .ko and .so files have protection. Even if you decompile them you won't be able to recompile them

bionic is back ????
Thanks for the Bionic version! Glad to see that Bionic development still rolls forward.
I'm currently using the LiquidSmooth ROM on my Droid bionic, but thanks to SafeBoot, I can give this a fair shot. I tried this ROM on my Nexus 7, and continue to waffle between this and Vanilla Rootbox ROM.
Where & how can I flash this?

Slot 1 Only
Some comments:
1. Lock screen icons appear to be controlled through Settings > Lock Screen and not Settings ROM control. No big deal, just took some trial and error.
2. The Battery bar defined in Settings ROM Control initially did not display properly, but after a reboot, it now displays as expected.
3. The Battery Widget Reborn app Force Closes, somthing that I have seen on at least one other ROM (LiquidSmooth.) While unfortunate (I really like the Notifications graph) it's no big deal.
4. This ROM seems quite smooth and responsive compared to Stock. My frustration with Stock was that opening more than just a couple apps would grind things to a slow halt meaning upwards of 10-20 seconds for the system to become responsive again. So far, this ROM (like LiquidSmooth) appears to be performing much better.

Yeah, the link he gave is not an actual gapps file, its a rom for another phone, pasted the wrong link. Just use the 20130301 or a modded one if you like.

Pretty phenomenal ROM btw. It is truly dizzying the amount of options, and very highly polished. Might just compete for my daily driver spot.

I DO, I DOOO!!!
I saw the blog post on the PA site but I never thought I'd see it on the Bionic so quickly... Shazzam, there it is!
I suppose a mid-vacation ROM flash is in order.

No they're just Gapps use the latest ones on goo.
Is safestrap 3.11 the only way to flash this? I'm fixing a Bionic for a friend and would like to be able to do a proper install. My primary phone is an Atrix 4G, so I'm familiar with flashing and such. I managed to install this on the Bionic but I don't like being limited to a 3GB partition.

Nice solid rom! However i get an fc on system ui when i switch back to stock ui from phablet ui so I'm stuck on phablet mode

I finally got around to flashing this and ...WOW... what an excellent ROM! Thanks for putting this together!
It was kinda laggy after the first boot but I continued to restore my apps, fix perms and reboot. Everything settled in nicely and the PA settings work nicely! It takes a bit of tinkering but the reward is well worth the effort.

I'm so glad this ROM is back! I gave up hope when you pulled it from DH. I was loving Carbon but will be back on PAC tonight! Thanks BK.

Just reinstalled this. I stopped running since the OTA and been running Flying Jelly on Slot 1. Got this going and gotta say I like the halo feature. No issues as of yet. Just stopped by to say thanks.
Does this have the same bugs as other cyanogen roms? Or is everything working properly? Thanks.

FAQRead ALL of this before posting in this thread! Thanks.
Q: I don't use the on-screen softkeys. How do I remove the navigation bar?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Interface, under Workspace drag the slider for "Navigation Bar Size" to 0%.
Q: How do I disable the dual-pane layout that is preset in some apps (Settings, Gmail, etc.)?
A:Go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and choose the app that you want to change. In the top right hand corner, click "Reset" and it will change the DPI and the layout of that app to the Workspace default that you have set. If your default Workspace is phablet / tablet UI but you want a specific app to not have the dual-pane layout, then go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and set the specific app to phone UI.
Q: Some ROM Control options do not work?
A: ROM Control is still a WIP as of right now. The frameworks part of ROM Control has yet to be merged, so that's why some settings are blank. Please give some time, and it will be fixed in the near future.
ROMControl is now fixed and mostly working.
Q: Why did some of Hybrid Properties options disappear in the new update?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Tools, and check Expert Mode and more settings will appear.
Q: How to I disable the PIE controls?
A: Go to Toolbars --> PIE Trigger Size and set that to none.
Awesome!
But...the links don't work, and I see quincyatt in your device list but no quincytmo...

Haha. Really? Just 2 of you? Surely there's a few more LOL. Enjoy. I run the AT&T Note myself so testing anything may be - ummm - a bit odd if there are problems. Fortunately the devices are so similar that there should be little to no difference between them. I think the only difference is the radio/modem.
After a few hours, so far, so good. No reboots or anything.
I have usually just injected files into the ATT roms to have some choice but this is definitely a welcome sight to see a new rom here on the T-Mobile side of the house.
Thanks!

On the AT&T phones there are sometimes lock screen issues. These are being worked on. If you have one set you might want to set it to "none" if you intend to run the rom. Lots of things being fixed. It will only get better!!

So you probably have adb installed or you should. If not, here is a thread.
It is explained in that thread better, but basically, once adb is running and you can access your phone, plug it in and type:
"adb logcat > wifi-not-working-9-06.txt"
Then, after wifi drops once or twice, close the command window. You now have a log file in that directory, wherever you did it. You can attach that log here I guess if AD5GB wants to look at it.
Wifi was OK for me as I recall on this rom.
Too bad looks like the builds are not completing lately.

WiFi is working on AT&T. Since I don't have the T-Mobile version of the phone it might be a bit but yes a logcat will definitely help speed things up. I understood this to be working on the tmo.
If you don't have the ADK, adb or don't wish to fool with it, there's an app called CatLog that works pretty well on rooted phones.
Builds for all phones are struggling lately due to the huge number of changes and fixes being comitted. The code repository is very often in such an inconsistent state that parts of the ROM just won't compile thus borking the builds. If you are curious you can check the logs to see just where it failed, though sometimes the reason isn't always quite clear to someone unfamiliar with development. It will get better. This I promise!!!!

PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space. PIE is what you see in this image.
That should solve half the problems. If it persists, backup data using Titanium and do a full wipe reinstall. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
A BIG thank you to IconRunner for putting together the FAQ!!
