hi,,just try installing the recovery again..and clear cache...
then try getting into recovery..
(im guessing you have unlocked the bootloader to do all this..)
you can try nandroid restore with no root while quitting recovery.
or you can flash the maximus rom ...
im using the maximus rom...it works flawlessly ..thanks to maximus developer!!:good::good:

So this fix the infinite loop problem?
And other question now is how to unroot my phone
Thanks

I flashed it, but now I am unable to boot into recovery. It takes me to the bootloader instead.
The only way I can get back into recovery is to flash and older version of CWM. Is anyone else having this issue?
Same problem here, with i9020.
i've a german nexus s (.23) it works very well!

It also killed my recovery.
This killed my recovery too. I did as Suprakarma suggested and all is well.
From within RomManager, run the fix permissions script.
(This had a problem on my device, it appears it doesn't like the BusyBox that Titanium Backup installed, so I had to install a new copy from the market).
Once that script's finished, reboot, then reinstall recovery from Rom Manager. Boot into recovery.
Hope that helps.
nop working i fix permition and flash recovery and stell same no working

Just out of curiousity, can anyone confirm if this recovery works on the i9023 or i9020a?

[Q] Bricked Incredible S Help

I'm trying to install custom ROM on Incredible s following the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337105
I can't boot past the htc screen. only after getting to this stage did I come across the whole S-ON/S-OFF thing. unfortunately I am stuck with S-ON and no ROM to boot into. from everything I've looked up you can only achieve S-OFF through adb mode and considering I have no android to load I can't exactly do that.
I have Clockwork Recovery v5.0.2.0.
...and no I don't have a nandroid backup. I'm doing this on my brother's phone coming from my GNex where we don't have these problems.
also I've tried running RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_Optus_AU_2.12.980.2_R_Radio_20.2803.30.085AU_3805.04.03.12_M_release_185028_signed.exe but that just fails.
another question would be given the current situation would a nandroid backup solve my problems and if so is there anywhere I could get one as I can't find one online atm.
perhaps would there be a way to force the phone into adb mode?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

I really don't know what happened here but it's working so thank you so much! so then what is the deal with this whole S-ON/S-OFF thing? don't you need to turn it to off then?

With S-OFF, you can place the rom on your SD card and flash it, no need to extract or run adb. You can flash the whole rom without touching your computer. It is just easier in my opinion.

Help please....boot looping

Ok guys,
Im not even new to flashing phones but no idea what the heck happened....
To cut a long story short I tried Renovate which was great but i couldn't change my keyboard so I figured I maybe selected something wrong in aroma. I reinstalled it over my current set up and chose a different set up and flashed. Done. Great. When i tried to reboot it would just boot loop into the recovery.
Now i searched and saw similar issues which were fixed by relocking, and then unlocking the BL which I did but now its even worse. I can't even get into the bootloader. I can leave the device and it bootloops into the recovery but it fails to mount anything so i cannot flash anything at all....
Anybody please can guide me in the right direction?
THanks
Did you back up before flashing the rom again? Do you have that backup on your sd card?

The phone will NOT boot and is stuck in a bootloop or on HTC startup screen.
I cannot mount anything.
Side load isn't installing anything.
THanks for having a look btw

as i stand now, the phone is clean with nothing. I can get into fastboot and recovery. CWM installed.Any other ideas please?

do you have the non branded One right?

I think the reason it is not reading your sd is because when you flashed 4.2.2 it moved the data to some other directory.

boy, i don't know at this point, you may have borked the radio, i would try to ruu, get back to stock and start all over.keep in mind if you run an RUU you have to relock the bootloader to do so. then you can unlock again and go from there.install recovery etc/

Also, I suggest using the revone s-off method from the revolutionary team. It allows you to flash ROMs more easily without flashing the boot.img separately. The link to the thread on how is in my web signature.

Look at this index, how to unlock, root and install ROM.
Search and don't hurry.
I'm already rooted do I maybe need to unlock the boot loader?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Really? God damn it. If you'd bother to search you'd find the requirement of a custom recovery is a unlocked bootloader! Is it really that hard to figure it out?
