[SHARE][APP]Proximity Screen Off - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hai guys nothing new here,i thought of sharing an app i found in the play store.. my mini's power button is almost dead, and i couldn't either turn on or turn off the screen using the power key. Then i found this incredible app called "Proximity Screen Off"
What it does?
-> It turn on/off screen with gestures :good:
How it works?
-> it make use of the proximity sensor. There are lot of gestures to select from, swipe once, swipe and hold and so on.
Both Lite and Pro versions are available in the market, give it a try :good:
Note:It drains battery very quickly but with right settings it doesn't drain you battery
Link to the lite version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.itsme4ucz.screenoff

its better if u use an app like power toggle or screen-off..they use accessibility permissions and 100% better than sensor based apps since they dont drain battery by taking any sort of wakelock..
just saying

But is it possible to wake up the screen by using power toggle/screen off? My mini is 2 and half years old,and almost all the buttons are dead by now.so i cant wake up the device by pressing the home key. Thats one of the reason i am using this app. Can you suggest me any other app which can wake up the device without using any buttons?

Zeus 6.36 not waking up after screen lock.

Hello every one 1 st of all thanks a lot to heuxx for a wonderful rom creation I have found it more fast and stable and I am using it.
It is my favourite rom after cyanogen 7 but I am not using cyanogen due to some sound problem that question I have asked in this question answer post.
The zeus problem started after flashing 6.36 base v 20 o .
After flashing update I have found that the phone is not waking up after screen lock I.e. when screen goes dark .
And important thing it's not happening always . Phone is waking up after pressing the power button and if I lock with power button it will lock and after that if I press power button again it will wake up and swipe to unlock screen will be there.
But after a 10 minute or longer period of time if I press
power button to wake the screen nothing appear.
I have tried to call the mobile in this screen of condition (not waking up condition) by other mobile Number and found Ring is going but no wake up (and Ring sound ) in my mobile with zeus 6.36
Also I doubt battery is speedy drawn I doubt. And I have searched xda and enabled disabled dvfs but no no result.
It may called sod as I learned from web.
Also I request huexx to make some tips for using the zeus tweaker i mean to make user interface with some compulsory tips so that before applying tips it the user can know what is going to happen.
The 6.36 is also showing false battery status I doubt.( doubt not clear)
Any way I have reverted to 6.35 v 20 o
Thanks again for a lovely rom

it was present in 6.35 also
the problem is since 6.33...zeus is becoming less fast aswell :/
Install patch2 for v6.36?
Turn off LGE_DVFS in Zeus Tweaker.
Base v6.36o is v6.3o, not v20o.
Turn off the DVFS thingy and your probleme is gone, i had the same problem, sometimes when you reboot car mode enabled.. after hard reboot :/

I don't know about the Active, but on the regular S4 the LED light from the "hold volume up button" is noticeably dimmer than when you activate it with apps. I'm using the Notification Toggle app from the Play Store to put the LED toggle in the notification panel. It's nearly as convenient as using the volume button and it's brighter without any risk of accidental activation in your pocket.

Yea it does have that option, just not the volume up with the screen off. You have to hold the brightness slider icon in the notification panel to activate it.
Not to be a bother, but I notice it works on some peoples phones and not others. Is there a special thing that needs to be done to get the vol-up for torch working? I know how to get to the secret settings, and they're set for me. It doesn't light up for me . Any advice?
Edit:
I'm running stock rooted with Xposed and Nottach Xposed
Use power toggles from playstore. The best

NottachXposed has both of those options. The volume up function is in the Lockscreen settings. You actually don't need Nottach to access it. It's just a convenient shortcut.

I think you need a deodexed ROM. Didn't work for me until I flashed the Mint Jelly ROM (which I recommend :good.

Alright, i'll give that a try. Not opposed to flashing roms, especially if they remove all this Samsung + ATT bloatware Thanks for your help.
Just an update.
I'm not sure if it was having a deodex rom, or just simply being on Android 4.2.2 (Might be the case). But my light is working now with screen off!
EDIT:
One more thing. Enabling this setting will create a wakelock that'll keep your phone at the lowest mhz you set it to instead of letting it go into deep sleep. It's a nice setting, but at the battery cost... it's something that isn't good enough for me yet. I have a profile setup in tasker for TelsaLED on with a shake on the locked homescreen to try my best and mimic this functionality (I was looking for something that starts up at boot, and flips the LED on from lockscreen). I know there's another flashlight that does this as well, but I ran into the problem of it not booting on startup, where as I use Tasker for other functionality so it starts up 100% of the time. It's not 100% since the LED takes a little to flip on... but it's better than having to unlock.
JUST an FYI to save people the feeling of underwhelming when it starts sapping your battery mercilessly!

thats absolutly not true, i use the feature on nottachs xposed app and my phone goes into DEEP SLEEP using ktz kernel, and there is another mod that u can use called 3 minit but you need framework but that has torch when the lock screen is on by pressing the home button, but i found i would have the light on by accident ,idk how but it would jsut be on with that mod.
3 minit work pretty well you can set it to long press home
Try flashlight led genius from playstore , no root need , you shake it when your on the lockscreen, awesome app

No need for framework changes or xposed

I'm going to stick with what I think then. After I flip on the light.. it never goes back into deep sleep. Try it yourself. I'll take a look at 3 minit
FYI the wakelock it made was PhoneWindowManager.mTorchlightWakeLock
This is a feature in CM10.1. You can add it under lock screen options for long press home button. Absolutely love it.

I think your Android version needs to be 4.2.2 to do the torchlight thing through Nova. I could be wrong though.
Ok another update on this.
Since djmouse wasnt getting any sort of wakelock, I decided to try again getting it working. I enabled it through xposed instead of the nova shortcut.... and for some reason it's letting me go to deep sleep now! ... I also flashed crossbreeder... so that might be the savior. Not sure, but happy to report the wakelock seems to be lifted. I'll report back after a few days if it stays that way.
THanks djmouse for challenging me to try it again!
Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.

It is not under screen wake control on trickster. It seems more for sweep2wake and user interaction to wake the phone, nothing about notifications.

fastest way to flashlight?

on my previous phone with cm7 i could draw patterns on the lock screen to launch apps/activities.
the only one i had was toggle flashlight.
is there anything similar that can be done with 4.4.3?
if not, any good rom to have that?
thanks

The Xposed module GravityBox allows you to have a quick flashlight shortcut. Once configured correctly, on your lockscreen you can hold down the slide to unlock ring to turn the flashlight on and off.
thanks. i still have to give xposed a try!
this will probably be the tipping point.
edit: after installing everything with flashlight on the name and without internet permission from the market, i finally found this:
https://github.com/theUltimateLabs/theUltimateFlashlight
it allows me to turn it on by pressing power button twice! xposed delayed some more
it's gpl. will recommend to fdroid.

I use "xposed torch" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.torch
and have it set for volume up= volume down=off, I like it because I don't have to turn on the screen to use it or open the flip case I use.
As you guys are talking about flashlight have you guys noticed that the app "Adjustable Torch" doesn't work with Moto X? It was the only torch app I used to use, but it doesn't support Moto X It was the only app which used the flash LED's intensity at it's highest (all other apps use a dim state of LED) and you could even control it! Damn.

[APP] [ROOT] Enable Double Tap to Wake for Nexus 6P

Hi there,
If you're looking for enable double tap to wake after reboot (event secure boot is enabled), you can try this APP.
PS. I'm using stock kernel and systemless root.

Yea me too.. works great
I don't notice any significant drain on battery. You're right in that it is similar to tapping the fingerprint sensor, however if I have it laying flat on a table and just want to quickly check time or notifications, this is a convenient way to do it

Works good for me. Especially when in the car when its in a car mount

Thanks, works great for me as well in those custom ROMs that don't have it enabled.
The app does indeed wake the screen up on my Nexus 6P but it wouldn't let me log in without entering the device password. Wouldn't let me go in with the fingerprint.
I'm on 6P running N with systemless root. Installed, opened app, enabled, and it immediately worked without a reboot or anything. Great work.
@blakey22 Two questions...
1) How come the screen doesn't turn on when you double tap the bottom or top portion of the screen?
2) Is the screen actually on when this app is enabled?

If you are using Xposed and Gravitybox, it has an option to double tap the Statusbar to sleep.
Double tap to wake after reboot is not working anymore on Oreo 8.0.0
Would be awesome if this could be fixed.

Yes, you either set the "Gestures" up during the initial setup in the Aroma installer (first time), or you can use flar2's kernel manager which is great. If you just blew through the initial setup and left the kernel defaults, I'm sure you can delete the Aroma settings file and then re-flash the kernel to get the options again. Better yet, try out EXKM.
