I could not put the link here but you can go to i9505 subforums and search volume boosteer. There are 2 mods...loud and very louder. I use very louder. You need root. Just simply replace the two files from etc folder with the modified ones and restart your phone. Works very well.

Volume booster mood for i9505 work fir me too
Works for me too however when I put volume to maximum volume goes down 40-50procent suddenly, and I can't listen loud
EDIT: after installed this mod "sanity" has stopped recording phone calls
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
EDIT: I went back to stock volume and now I have all the time message "earphone conected"but I did unplug headset.system still see somehow that headset are conected but they are not. I dont here any sound now
I do not recomend this mod

I never had a problem with this mod and I installed to my I9505 and now to 9295. I just copied the modified files to the root of the device.

what you flashed ?? and can u call and somebody else hear ur voice ?
Silly question, did you reboot it to release the lock?
I had some app also lock my mic, could not use it with BT. so I reboot and it worked. again
Maybe look in the market for a microphone control app. see if there is one that turns it on or off. and try to turn it on again
hi,
I dont flash anything. I can call & speak to others but I cant do voice recording. I also did system reboot.

[Q] Problems with Switching audio

Hi Everyone,
I have a weird problem. I tried installing skype from play store yesterday and DSPPack for player Pro and ever since i am having this weird problem.
1) When i plug in a Headset/Earphones the phone does not recognize it. The Audio from the phone calls continues through the earpiece and Music is routed to the Speaker
2) When i restart the phone with the Headset/Earphones plugged in, all the audio is played only through the Headset/Earphones (removing them the audio is not routed back to the earpiece or Speakers)
3) I found this app called SoundAbout, using this app i am able to switch between the Earpiece/Speaker and Earphones/Headset.
Can someone guide me as to how to fix this problem. I have done factory reset twice already but of no use
Thanks and regards
Sanjay

I'm on stock JB retail.EU too. I tried the features that make you problems to find out whether I've got any issue. Both video and Skype through headphones work normal, sound is transmitted via headphones. I don't use any market video player I suppose that you use MX Video Player. Try with stock player, you'll have excellent and smooth video playing. If you want to use other player because of subtitles, I recommend BSPlayer.
But what is important for the beginning is to eliminitate possible cause of your troubles. I suggest you to try these:
1. Inspect how are headphones connected. Thin click is to be heard when connected right. They shall not be inserted less and not beyond this click.
2. If you have bluetooth headphones or you can borrow them (stereo not calling headset) try whether you have the same problem with them.
3. Remove video player and check if the problem still exist with Skype.

1) The problem is not related to Hardware, otherwise SoundAbout would not work
2) Same problem with blue tooth headphones
3) I have removed skype, Player Pro
I installed Player Pro and not MX Player
I even made a factory reset (Settings - Privacy - Factory data reset).
I again made a factory reset now and as i mentioned before... the phone does not detect anything plugged into the Audio Jack. If i restart the phone with something plugged in the audio jack, all volume is routed only through the audio jack (if remove the plug, there is no audio from the earpice or built in loudspeaker) and i have to restart the phone again

Then is it obviously that you have problem with the system (JB or kernel). As I mentioned I have the identical system and no issues with voice switching. You could try to flasIt the JB once more but I wouldn't recommend. Since you have practicaly new phone the most logical solution is to bring it to the service. Its better that the service take the risk of succesful flash and it is usually done really fast.

[FIX][HEADSET MIC][CM][AOSP] Fix for not working headset mic and dock/hdmi audio

HI,
I've recently switched to CM 10.2 on my note n8000 and I've found "the mic bug on wired headset" as others have already told.
Now I'm running the last CM nightly build cm-10.2-20131213-NIGHTLY but I think this fix should work on all roms based on CM;
Just overwrite the file "GT-N8000" in /system/etc/sound with the one inside the zip attached to this post, set permission -rw-r--r-- and reboot.
Now your headset mic should work. Test it on n80xx, it should work for those models too.
If you have another model rename the file inside my zip accordingly to the one present in /system/etc/sound (like GT-N8013)
If you find any problem report here.
Attached v2:
mic volume was too low
Attached v3:
EXPERIMENTAL, UNTESTED
Set samsung default AUDIO settings for dock (analog output) and HDMI (digital output).
UPDATE: Audio will be reproduced with speaker when on dock, Hdmi audio still not working.
Attached v4:
UNTESTED: changed routing for hdmi.
Try this at your own risk, if it's working please report.
thank you so much, im finding for this fix a long time
Hey, kind of just bumping for visibility, but how did you come up with these changes? I'll probably incorporate this fix into Omni but I just want to make sure this is a correct fix and doesn't cause any other issues. Thanks!
hi there, i just found the bug, indeed your fix make headset mic work with most of applications but, now, it make me unable to make any phonecall, i can hear the other say but they can't hear me at all

Built-in microphone should be working during calls, but you can't use headset with mic.
If you use headphones (like the ones for a mp3 player, without mic) you should be able to make a call using the builtin mic of the tablet or you can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix to force the use of the builtin mic even if a headset is plugged.
I know it's quite "uncomfortable".
I'm already trying to fix that too, I've spoken with iofthestorm for including that in omnirom but actually it's a work in progress.

Try to connect your headphones after the call is started. Are you using the original samsung headset or headphones?

Download the program I've suggested two post before this. Open it, go to wired headset behavior and remove the tick in wired headset microphone. Now during calls it's used the builtin mic. For me it's working.

Disable the Loud Volume warning without Xposed

If you don't want to install Xposed on the Note 4 because of the S-Health/Private Mode/BT Audio issues, just install Hearing Saver from the play store:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jakebasile.android.hearingsaver
It allows you to set the volume with BT enabled/disabled, headphones plugged in/out and will bypass the message altogether. I've confirmed it working on my roote Note 4, works for BT Audio and headphones!
Not sure if this is public knowledge or not but I couldn't find any threads on it when I was searching for a solution earlier!

That is helpful. Does this run in the background all the time or does it passively modify system settings?
Thank you!! great, save my day , Xposed not working yet on Lollipop 5.0 Stock ROM.
(I don't use it to destroy my ears but because Bluetooth signal is low on my helmet , I can regulate it directly on the BT receiver)
wrong thread lol
