[Q] Creating a System Dump - Moto X Q&A

Hey guys,
I've been trying to create a system dump of my Moto X Canadian variant. I figure there might be some interest.
I'm stuck, since it seems I might need su access. I haven't rooted the phone.
Pointers?

[Q] unroot/edit my boot.img

Hey guys,
Since i rooted my SGS a while ago and then updated superuser to the last version available in market, that i'm facing an annoying issue i can't manage to solve by myself. Somehow when i applied one of the first update.zip files available in xdaforums to root my phone i got a su binary in /sbin. And now it is conflicting with the newer version. I can delete /sbin/su and its all ok, but once i restart my phone i've to do it again.
Is there a way to remove /sbin/su forever? I was told i had to create a new boot.img without /sbin//su but i found that a bit hard for me to do at this point. Would it be too much to ask, that someone used to it maybe could fix me and update.zip to reverse this?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Any KitKat ROM I can use in Safestrap on a Moto X from RW?

Per the subject line I have a Moto X I bought from Republic Wireless. Have since left RW, and have rooted the phone and installed SafeStrap. I have a slot ready to load a KitKat ROM, but it isn't clear which (if any) of them will run with this setup. I thought I saw that someone had done this with one of the TMobile ROMs, but can't seem to find the discussion.
Anyone who's done something similar who can point the way?

[Q] Using "dd" to write different partitions: don't know /dev/block/mmcblk***

[Q] Using "dd" to write different partitions: don't know /dev/block/mmcblk***
Howdy folks,
I have a US AT&T XT1058 phone, and currently it is running 4.4.4 (OTA update from stock 4.4.2). I can't use conventional fastboot commands because Motorola closed the loophole that allowed people to flash different bootloaders.
However, I think I may have found a workaround. I verified that I can get a temporary root, reload "system" partition as "read+write", then use "dd" from terminal emulator. If I have all the required images, I would be able (theoretically) to write custom recovery, custom bootloader, etc. Here is the caveat: I don't know which /dev/block/mmcblk*p* correspond to which partition. I remember that on my old Galaxy S2, mmcblk0p18 pointed to recovery partition, but I have no idea which is which on Moto X (XT1058). Does anyone have this info? Should I assume that these mmcblk*p* stand for same partitions on all Android devices?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!
That would be awesome if you succeed!
And while I have no answer for your question, I'm interested how did you manage to get temp root?
Never mind. I could get a temporary root only before I upgraded to 4.4.4. Now, I am stuck with the stock AT&T ROM (without tethering and with some AT&T bloatware). I am returning this phone back to the seller.
Oh and to answer your question about temporary root: I ran Sunshine app, so that it rooted the phone, but I did not purchase the permanent root. This way until the next reboot, I could have root. I could install some system apps, remount /system as writeable, etc. Then, I upgraded to 4.4.4, and now Sunshine is useless Would it be cheating if I used Sunshine to root the phone myself with "dd" for free? It's a moot point now.

[Q] Debloat D950

Night Everyone,
I just ordered a D950 LG G Flex AT&T, and i havent received it yet, however, i wanted to ask some stuff.
Im not a newbie on the android section, but each hpone acts different, as example, i had a E980 [LG G PRO AT&T] before this one, and wha ti know, is that, removing any carrier system app, using any root explorer, managed to get stuck at the boot screen on the device, saying, Security Error, and then had to reflash it again using the KDZ or the TOT method.
I wanted to ask, if its the same thing with the D950, if i remove the system apps from AT&T, will my device stuck at the Boot Screen with any kind of Security Error message?, since there is not much action on the development of this phone, i wanted to know before start messing with it.
I saw the ROOT method and everything, as soon as i get it i will root it and set TWRP or CWM, however, even on the E980, when the security error appeared, it was almost a 100% rate to flash it with a KDZ to get it working again, and i was curious if this was the same thing with the D950.
Also, i saw the Hyelton guide, its the same one to flash the KDZ, but since the E980 Bootloader was locked if i remember right, and it was needed to be lokified in order to isntall a custom recovery, is the bootloader of the D950 locked? will i face the same issues while trying to remove the system apps, i used to mod my R800X and my E980 ALOT, LIKE 5 flashes at day, both of them, and now i just wanna keep my phone without bloatware, and remove the system apps from AT&T.
So, im open to any idea/suggestion/advices or whatsoever.
p.d. Sorry for my mistakes if any~
Weekly bump!

New to the Turbo Family

Hi all! Just picked up a turbo still on 4.4.4, should be here in a few days. No real experience with moto devices that're locked down, I had a moto x dev edition before my nexus 6 (will be switching between the two) and am not entirely sure on the process used to gain root. I've heard something about mofo root but am just looking to clear things up before i jump in.
-edit-
So sorry about that, meant for this to be posted in Q&A, could a mod please move it? My bad!
theres currently a free root method, you have to pay for mofo to flash a modified sistem image to gain root
