Glass screen protector with case - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Hey guys so my note 2 is otw and I want a good glass protector for it. I have checked a few out and have seen good things about voyager 2, and the siedio vitro one. However will these fit with either a otter box case or UAG? Or are they to thick? The voyager I know is .4mm which is not to bad but wanted to check with you guys first.
Thanks

Uhhh.. what?

Can these protectors work with a uag case and otter box? Sometimes the protectors are thick and the case edges push them up
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

The Otterbox Commuter for the Note 2 should fit with a glass screen protector. No cases that cover over the front of the screen will fit if you use a glass screen protector.

Yes they're worth it. I think plastic ones are pretty useless because they're so thin. They can only protect the screen from minor scratching, but provide little to no protection against dropping or knocking. Furthermore, glass protectors are truly oleophobic.

But how does it affect s-pen functionality?

It doesn't affect it in any way, it's just like the naked screen.

It doesn't affect the S-Pen at all with my setup.

You may want to consider this case which has inbuilt glass screen protector. http://www.itskins.com/product/advanced-back-covers/lava_196_en.html?pb=71&pc=2
I bought it for $20 + shipping. The price is jacked up now but keep on checking. It allows the phone to be used in Landscape mode as well. I have ordered the case already and am waiting for it to arrive. I can post my experience after I have used the case for a few days.

the gap in between will likely create more reflection and reduce brightness more than a screen protector that just sticks to the screen.

The seidio vitreo glass screen protector is freaking awesome. Mine is a little scratched - just barely - in a few spots, but given my note 2 skidded some 20 feet screen-down over cobblestones, very impressed.
While it was on that regrettable journey, it was also encased in a seidio convert case.
I highly recommend both.

If the sound is muffled due to the silicone case, couldn't you just puncture a hole into it as the microphone is at the bottom of the case?
I ordered a commuter case and I'm hoping that it doesn't run into the same issues.

I also ordered the commuter case.Black on Black.
Yes it can be modified to open up the mic with ease.
I just received my commuter case and it's great. I have an opening for the microphone at the bottom.
I kind of messed up the screen protector install on mine. I checked on the otterbox site but can't find anywhere where I can order an additional screen protector from them? Anyone have a suggestion?
I like the otterbox one because it feels like the actual screen and not a rubbery layer. I used the ZAGG invisible shield on an ipod before and it wouldn't work well on a touch screen as it's tacky and you can press into it.
The plastic is weak I cracked mined

Is the call quality reduced too bad or is it bearable? I would rather take a little call quality away for protection!
There are no issues with call quality as long as the case is installed properly and the opening in the silicone is over the microphone hole.
I have been using this case for a week and like it. It provides good protection. I can rest assure that my phone will be protected if it ever dropped. The only complain I have is that the silicone part is a dust magnet. The day I put it on, it's never been dust-free. I would wish it is replaced by TPU instead.

Is it hard to get on and off? I had a plastic case once for my Nexus One. It was such a pain to get on and off. I swore no more plastic. So now I only use TPU cases.

Yeah..don't forget is super slippery.
It's annoying when manufacturers don't leave enough space around the charging port. It can be very frustrating to have to remove the cover everytime you want to plug in.

Surely not more slippery than having no cover at all?
I ordered this case more than 2 weeks ago (to the UK). Was dispatched on the 30th Oct. Hasn't arrived yet (I suppose it is coming from a long way though).
I'm not expecting much, just hoping that it's slightly better than no case at all (which is what I normally have).

Tempered Glass Screen Protector - Multiple Colors!

I had one of these for my S3 and now they have one for the Note 2! They are good quality and it took 2 weeks for the screen to arrive. Seller is legit. I may get a white one for my Note 2.
On my S3 I was able to use my Otterbox Defender case! I did however break this product Dropping my phone BUT my original screen was nice and safe!
Check it out!
Oh and one warning - There is a metallic sparkle in the colored areas like car paint has. It is not bad but wish the colors were more solid.

Question is whether the S-pen will work normally?
"Bullet proof glass screen protector" ermm...
who wants to be the guinea pig?
I guess this will be a great alternative now that spigen will not be producing glass screen protectors. The only thing is that I wish someone could just make a clear glass screen protector. One would think that a clear one would be easier to produce than colored ones.
S-Pen should be fine I assume? May have to test it. I do wish there was just a clean screen protector.

You ordered a plastic film screen protector. They ARE making those, just not the tempered glass ones.

These are the plastic film screen protectors, they make four different types for the Note 2, the link below to their site will explain the differences.

Did anybody get one of these on their Note 2 yet? I finally got my Otterbox Defender and want to punch out the built-in screen protector. Wondering if this would possibly fit under an Otterbox Defender case?
Actually I've been using one for two weeks now.
A black one, like the review posted on this thread.
I really have no major complaints. I don't really mind the black sparkle effect. It's really not that pronounced, and it gives the phone a different look. And since it is covering the Samsung logo, you cannot tell what phone it is anymore. Add that to my huge Mugen extended battery cover in the back, and the Note II is now a Franken monster.

Whats a good otterbox alternative?

I'm going to be doing some field work soon, and want to be able to take my phone with me instead of taking a cheap feature phone like I used to.
Problem is, its going to be dirty, cold dusty and jagged and I need a good rugged case with screen protection, preferably one that won't me back 40-60$ like the otterbox does.
must have features are port covers, a dust resilient screen protector, and a toughened shell/case.
thanks in advance for any help

Even if you were to go with something other than an OtterBox, for that level of protection I believe you'd still be looking at the ~$50 price range.
Im a field service engineer and let me tell you that my otter commuter saved my phone a few times - from multiple angle drops to dirty fingers. had it on for a week now and it works as advertised. was looking for a cheaper alternative as well but after reading the reviews and watching drop tests videos its the best protection you can get for ~50 bucks.

I am also a field service engineer and work with literally tons of abrasive dust. I have a cheap fosmon kickstand cover that I bought on amazon. it was really only a few bucks. I also have on a cheap wet apply screen protector I bought on amazon I think it is the just like glass protector. The case makes the softbuttons hard to use, so you may want to flash a rom with the nexus buttons enabled.

I have the commuter case. I believe it is a great case and I highly reccomend it. It cost me around 32 euros and I dont regret it. Most of the times when we look for cheap alternatives we end up spending more money on various cases just to return to our first and more expensive option. And if you want my opinion you dont just but 2 parts of silicon and plastic. You buy the reassurance that whatever happens to your case Otterbox will replace it. And of course you also buy their experience. Just check all these crazy drop tests on youtube.
