this likely has everything to do with your port. is your T-Mobile phone still working?

Yeah its still working. I'm at the store now and they're getting the same run around I was. Not one person on the phone understands what the motox is. I'm about to give up and send this thing back before they disconnect me from t-mobile and leave me in limbo

if you have the phone in hand it shouldn't matter what a moto x is. have port and activations port the line to att, add the imei and sim number to you account and activate the phone.
I have no clue what your issue is given the facts that you have laid out. do you actually have a phone in hand? nvm. I see that you ordered it.
fyi, I am a former att employee. worked retail for a while and in corporate after that.
---------- Post added at 07:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------
nvm. I see that you ordered it. okay, you can't activate that phone until you have actually received it. once you receive it you can either call customer service or go to a store and the phone can be activated.
to be clear a ported line can not be activated until you actually have the phone in hand. who initiated your port process?

OK well it took them an hour but finally got working I did have the phone in my hand they just didn't know how to get it activated

AT&T Nexus One, unavailable?

The order page currently states that the AT&T compatible version is unavailable. Does state temporarily. But has this happened before?
I mistakenly ordered a T-Mobile version but actually really think something malfunctioned in the order process since I clearly clicked the AT&T model and double checked it. The receipt stated the T-Mobile version though and I caught that too late to cancel it before it shipped.
It's going back to Google now. But I am now unable to order the AT&T model. Has this happened before? How long did it take to receive more? I'm curious because they've stated they're closing the web store and I'll be disappointed if I missed out because of a crappy mistake or technical glitch.
Edit: Post on page 2 gives confirmation that they aren't gone yet but are simply out of stock.
wow, that's interesting. its certainly new, as I ordered one thursday and got it today.
Sadly, I don't know if this has happened before though... :-/

This really bites, because I REALLY wanted to buy one today
If anyone knows anything, please do share... I sent off a message through the contact page, so I'll see if they get back to me.
It will be really hard to get one in Canada if they stop selling it...
First I heard of it being unavalible since launch. Could be because they are hashing the inventory getting froyo on shipping phones.
AFAIK google is taking down all N1's minus ones on contract, i heard that from one of the news sites a few weeks ago. Could be wrong tho.
I ordered mine Sunday evening and got it this morning; I hope they're not taking them down yet, I'm definitely enjoying this phone. Just afraid to flash ROMs and brick my phone. >.<
Flashing roms has never bricked an android phone...

I really hope that isn't true... I looked on ebay, and the prices for N1's are crazy... Rogers doesn't seem to get Android phones here until they're obsolete... And I refuse to get a phone with a fruit on it...

It is true. But they will not be taking them down yet. They said they would run the store for a long while yet, until the Nexus One is with carriers and in stores around the world. And still they said they would keep it up a while after even that happens.
Don't worry, the store is not going away for a long time.
hey OP, could you update this when you find out if this is permanent or not?
thanks

What he said.
Now flashing radio or SPL. That can brick your phone.
Yea, once I get solid info I'll update the original post to reflect what I find.
I still plan to order one if they become available as a development device. Was hoping for an AT&T version so I could swap sims with my iPhone and use whichever device fit my needs for the day.
I've been looking in to this as well. My girlfriend went to purchase one this evening after trying playing with mine for a few weeks and they are unavailable. I was aware Google was going to cease selling them online, but their blog post said the would first establish a presence in third-party retail outlets, then pull them from the store. Hopefully this is just a temporary shortage or something and not the end of the at&t Nexus One.
Edit: OP, I just stumbled across the answer to this on the Google Support Forums. A Google employee responded to this question saying they would have more in stock in the next few days. I'd post a link, but I'm too new lol

No worries on posting a link. I'll trust you since it makes sense based on what you said. I figured it was temporary but wanted to see if this was a normal thing or not.
I'll have to pick one up as soon as they become available. Thanks for the heads up

When Rooted do I have to go back to stock ruu it another account

If I can get one quick answer for how many times I might be torn apart for asking that would be great. Friday I added a new line to my family plan to get the evo. I am trying to put my hero running fresh 2.1.2 on another line that is one my account. I got it at Radio Shack and they had no idea what they were doing and screwed up my account. After a day and a half I finally got the accounts switched and when I activated the 3g wont come on the hero. I have all needed codes and have spent about 7 hours total trying to get it working. I am thinking about flashing back to stock but don't want to if not needed. Any help or at least a direction to be pointed. All else fails, I'm going to the sprint store.
Try it. Use the 2.1 ruu .exe in the 2.1 root guide. DONT DONT DONT accept the OTA when you boot or you can't reroot. Use the UNREVOKED.apk to one click root again.

Yeah, I'm thinking i was cause where I bought it. The people I got it from RadioShack had no idea what they were doing. They thought I was crazy when I asked them to switch some esn's around. When I talked to sprint they said radioshack had been screwing up alot of accounts. So if are buying from there, have them do nothing but sale you the phone and activate it. Heading to sprint, quick question, if I go in there with a rooted hero will they trip?

Usually they're dumb enough to believe you when you say "Oh, it's an app I found"

This has nothing to do with the phone being rooted.
FYI indirect dealers like radio shack don't have the full ability to switch around esns among lines on an account.
Basically three things have to happen:
first you have to free up existing phones on existing lines. (only sprint can really do this, save for doing an upgrade)
second you have to change the account to reflect the new phones on the new lines. (indirect dealers CAN do this once the line is freed up)
third: you have to initiate either an auto ota programming, or use unlock codes to edit the mobile identification number and your mobile directory number (these are both usually your phone number, but sometimes the MDN is not) Again, only sprint can do this as they have the unlock codes.
Your RS rep probably didn't realize this, and only changed around your account as needed. Now, true, they should have just called Sprint and made sure, or had you make a call on the hero to make sure it was working right... but let's be fair, I'll bet at some point in your life you made a mistake where you thought you knew what you were doing and it turns out you didn't.
Line switches like this aren't common requests at indirect dealers. They mainly handle new account and upgrades.
I work at a Radio Shack and we regularly switch lines around like that, we do have to call it in to Sprint though. As with anywhere it's rarely the company and more the person working that's stupid.

I sell att, verizon and tmobile for costco. I sell a lot of phones, but I've never sold a phone and sent the customer away with out the phone working and them to figure it out themselves. I usually reward salesman that overachieve and work for their commission by buying as much as i can. On the other hand I don't like to give credit that doubt know about what their selling. In other words, know what your selling, I always do and I've sold just about everything.

Bought another HTC One (M8) it's a little different

My 1st phone I bought on day one started with S/N FA has the "NO 3G of Death".
Sprint still has not even given an ETA on replacement (since last Sunday). F that. So I bought another one.
I did buy a Galaxy S5 first at best buy but they were $100.00 more. I caught them just before closing. When I got home my wife asked, oh you bought a Verizon Phone !!
So I returned that and figured if I'm gonna buy and return something why should BestBuy pay the price. I'll let Sprint take that hit.
So I did compare every setting in every ##nnnnn# I could find.
They were EXACTLY the same. Including Signal Strength.
But I noticed this phone is a little different. For one it works, that's always good. Side By Side they do not behave the same. On multiple Towers.
I notice the Power button is way more recessed. I like that. The first one was kind of high.
Second on my first one holes behind the speaker grill on top and bottom look whitish on the right half.
On the new phone they are black (hollow) all the way across.
This phone Serial S/N starts with HT.
Hardware Rev is the same.
I have applied S-OFF, Unlock, Recovery (Captains 2.7.0.7 this time) and running Bad Boys Harman 1.1. But I'm staying on Stock Firmware for now. Stock PRL too.
The Sprint fellow (through chat) that helped me activate the new one, was very good. We tried everything to fix the old one. By activating new one, then going back to old one etc.
It just misbehaved.
Some Sprint people thought it was my account. Nope.
Some Sprint people thought it was my towers. Nope.
It was the phone.
Still not 100% sure if it's hardware or software.
I did back it up with QPST first thing.
I can confirm that this does happen on HT serial numbers as well, waiting for my device which should be there on tuesday
Interesting. I had five OG Evo's, and three Evo Lte's. I remember the certain build of the Evo's having issue's, and trying to avoid those. I have an FA. Runs smooth.

I saw a tear down video that showed spring contacts to connect the antenna's BEFORE I bought it.
When I saw that, I thought, oh sh$t not again. HTC One X (I think that was the model, the model year before M7) was plagued with antenna Issues.
Some DIYers soldered wires to connect the antenna to fix it. I never had an issue. You could squeeze that model to "Temporarily" fix it because it was plastic.
You can't squeeze the M8 to test the Theory.
I was very tempted to take my broken M8 apart and retention the clips. I may still, since the broken one is going to be returned anyway.
You can see it in this Tear Down.

I could be completely wrong that those spring clips are related, but I was concerned BEFORE I bought it.
So I'm concerned too. One day at a time. I still prefer the M8 over S5 (Having never owned a Samsung).
I might have HTC repair my broken M8. Since I have a running phone (at the moment) I have the luxury sending it to them.
I just googled it. In the case of the old HTC One X it was the WIFI Antenna

I came from the galaxy s3, it was a damn solid phone. Never had issues with it. I like sense more than TouchWiz though. I just was in sprint chat again and they told me to go to a different store, and that they advised the store that the device doesn't seem to be working properly. I'll be going there tomorrow to see if I can make any headway. If not, I may end up switching carriers. Not sure yet.

I feel your pain man. Every store I went into I was more upset leaving. With them saying things like we know it's broken, we have shinny new ones here we can't give you.
You have to wait in line for a refurb.
What really got me was I was on the phone getting status on my back order and asking why he can't give me one from the store, you have them in stock.
He said "who told you that, we don't have any". That's the same store I bought the 2nd phone at !!!
I was ready to dump them too. But they are all the same. I have Verizon for FIOS and they are just as slimy and way more expensive.
TMobile seems reasonable but I'm not sure I trust having a GSM phone at my cabin. Most GSM phones get no service up where my Cabin is.
I also have the SERO 500 plan on two lines.
Sprint used to be much better in situations like this. I've never seen anything like this. I think I've been with them for like 15 years. New phone every year.
I think I'll be buying my next phone through BestBuy. But it's tricky with SERO Plan because I don't think BestBuy can activate it.
And I won't be buying another phone on release day. I rarely do.
I have the same plan. Hopefully I have better luck tomorrow. I don't know what carrier I would switch to anyway.
Just so you know you can't go just on the first 2 characters.... That just says where it was made....have to use the next few to determine a time frame... Seen some come out of the same factory and be world's apart.
There's a thread in the One forum going over SNs.....
Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
I'm amazed you still have the SERO plan. I had it then Sprint made me move to a new plan when I got my OG Evo when that came out.
Looking through other forums like T-Mobile and their new phones and there isn't much talk about this. Makes me wonder about good ole Sprint.

Yeah this is the first time I ever heard of this. I just switched to T-Mobile but still browse the Sprint forums to see whats happening in my old neighborhood. Ive never heard of the "No 3G of Death" on any other carrier forum. I wonder what the issue could be???
I don't think that Sprint has their network hitting on all cylinders. Upgrading their system to Sprint Spark while releasing flagship phones hasn't been smooth.

[Q] Registering Device on Moto Site

Every time I try the IMEI and MEID, the site says "Unable to retrieve device information. Please confirm IMEI/MEID number and try again.". I tried to go through support chat, but they need to escalate it for further review. I had tried multiple browsers, cleared cache/history... Bought directly from Moto and working on Verizon.
Trying to get Moto Care for N6, any thoughts on the issue?
Thanks!
I am having the same problem. I contacted Motorola and they said they put in a ticket for this and will contact me in a few days. Anyone else have the same issue or got this resolved some how?

Just got off the phone with them and they promised a call or email back within 48 hours. I cannot seem to register my device either. Pretty frustrating since I really want to protect this $770 investment ASAP.
Edit: Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I also noticed that before I unlocked and rooted my device that the bootloader showed that it was modified. I wonder if this was somehow a test unit or refurbished unit that someone had previously unlocked?

[Q] I got a 50$ N6 but need advise

Ok, So, I found this girl on my local face book and she sold me a Nexus 6 that has a shattered screen for 50$ I couldn't pass up the deal and I did contact Motorola who said that they would replace the screen for 175$ So, I am getting a great deal. The kicker is that I have no clue if it is reported stolen or what. She let me come to her house and assured me it wasn't and that she just didn't have the money to pay the 175$ for the insurance. Anyways, what do you guys think? should I send it in to Motorola? Can they keep the phone if there is something shady going on with it? It is from T Mobile from what she said. But I didn't get anything but the phone. I do have some sign of life. I just plugged it in and a green light came on up top but I have no screen action. The screen is shattered but the rest of it is in excellent condition.
As of now I have the One Plus One and I am debating on which phone is the keeper if everything does work out with it. Is there anyone else coming from the OPO who has an opinion of the 2 phones?
Any advise on my situation is highly appreciated!
Motorola won't keep it, they're not the mobile phone police.
With that said, who is this idiot girl? Why on earth would she sell a $650 phone, even with a crack screen for $50?
That's sounds shady if you ask me. Check the IMEI online and see if it might be black listed. If nothing cones out its at least worth fixing because that's a steal.
---------- Post added at 10:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:10 AM ----------
Also T-Mobile will black list phones if they aren't gift l bought out right and the account holder doesn't pay for it.
Even with a crack screen and bad IMEI number it's still worth more then the $50 he paid for it.

I don't know why she would do it but I do know a good deal when I see it. LOL! The digitizer isn't working so there is no way for me to get an IMEI # unless I open the back? I hate to invest in the new screen and it be blacklisted. Does anyone know if the IMEI # is located in the device if I took the back cover off? I don't know of another way to check unless I go ahead and fork over the $ for the new screen.

I just ran through a teardown of the N6, and it doesn't appear as if there are any stickers on the inside that would list the IMEI on the inside of the device. It would seem that the only way to know for sure would be to take the gamble on having the screen fixed.
Personally I'd get it repaired and take the gamble. It is very suspicious that she didn't give you the included box, if she did buy it what good would she have by keeping the box?
$50 is not that bad and the repair cost isn't too bad either. Take the gamble and see what happens.

Repair it because its worth the risk. Worst case she senario you will need a new imei but we aren't allow to discuss pushing new imei numbers to black listed phones on XDA but a quick google search could help you should you need it.

Grab a magnifying glass, and look at the sim card tray.

Son of a gun. I didn't even think of that. Only phone I've ever seen it there on before was the iPhone 4/4s. Well, that should solve OP's issue.

I believe you can find the IMEI on the SIM card tray. She should have provided the payment receipt so you could prove it wasn't stolen.

This, then go to http://swappa.com/esn and check the IMEI.
Well, Great news so far. I checked the IMEI # from the tray and it came back legit. So, I am winning so far! Thanks for all of the advise from everyone.
Now, I need to decide if I want to keep the Nexus over my OPO. I love my OPO but have been having an itchy finger to get the N6...We shall see!
Thanks again everyone!
DUDE!!! I have to share this...I called Motorola and told them that I got the phone from someone who didn't want to pay the insurance to fix it. They ran the IMEI # and I pre paid 175$ on a credit card and they sent me a new nexus 6 in the box with everything! Unopened!!! All I have to do is send the old phone back within a few days and I have just gotten a new N6 for 225$!!!Ya baby!!!
I couldn't honestly decide on what phone to keep between the Oneplus one and the N6 so I posted both on Craigslist and I said the first one that sold is the one I will get rid of and keep the other. Within 15 minutes of my post someone bought my One plus 1. So, fate has it that I have an N6! Now time to get this puppy flashed and dialed in. Thanks again !

I came from a OnePlus One, you won't regret it. Yeah the N6 is more wide but you'll get used to it, once you use the N6 you'll wonder why every other phone wasn't wide to begin with. OnePlus One does have better battery life but thats not to say that the N6 can't survive a full day without charging.
But congratulations, nice to see Motorola's customer service is quite nice.

Yes sir! I remember you! You helped me in the very beginning when I first got my opo. I was stuck and you helped pull me out of a bind. Good man, good man.
Well, I am loving the N6 so far. I have had the N5 so this is going to be fun. Time to start digging in and seeing what this puppy can do.
I had the OnePlus One and loved it but the N6 is better

My N6 is rooted and I'm running the Franco kernel for better battery life but once it's replaced the 4K AMOLED screen alone is a big difference.

Yeah your name sounds pretty familiar. I missed the Nexus community and it felt more true to "AOSP" as OPO ROMs/kernels heavily relied upon CM as they had a number of device specific code/commits.
I'm glad you're enjoying the device, a lot of N5 -> OPO -> N6 converts. I probably will skip on the OnePlus Two (or whatever its called).
I made my own custom ROM if you wanted to give it a try, if not then no bad feelings
