[Q] How can I hide on-screen button bar? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there. I've searched a lot but I can't find anything about Xperia SP, only for a huge amount of other Xperia models. So, my questions is. Is there any way I can hide the on-screen button to get really full screen games/apps? Like during the videos? I don't mind if root is needed, I just want to take of that 3 buttons bar while playing some games.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Thanks.
I assume that you tested it on SP or someone else did it. I really found apps like this, but was never sure about "may work with other devices". Anyway I'm gonna root asap and try this. Thanks for you attention.

Tested
When you tap red bar they will pop for second. You can adjust size place, look etc. Working ok.

Used it... works great!
However, my phone is rooted, so I was wondering if root is required to use this app. Do you have any idea?

[Q] Is there an easy way to do screen shot capture in 2.1?

While playing movies, for example, I want to capture the screen as a still picture. Same goes for a piece of info that I see on the webpage, etc.
In the iPhone environment, users could just press the power and home button simultaneously to capture it as a photo.
Is there anything like that on Android?
I only know one way and that requires root , then download app from market "Shootme"

Thanks for the info. Do you then assign a hardware button to do the capture? No problem capturing a movie while it is playing?

"Shootme" works by shacking phone left and right , i did not try capturing a movie but it should work it captures everything else on screen, there are more apps in market capable capturing screenshots , they all need root to best of my knowledge.

Shaking is a good way, as long as the orientation is not upset by it I guess.
Having go root the phone is a pity. Does anyone know of a non-root solution?

I dont have root either and i looked for screenshoot app as well, but i wasnt able to find any..
-TB-
It's due to Android's security settings that root is required to take screenshots.
No other way around it for now.
Read this thread, in the first post there is a link on how to take screenshots through the android SDK:
The screenshot thread
Wow, does it have to be this complicated just to capture screen?

you just enable debugging mode and connect, then use the android SDK

Just wait for 2.2 if you don't want to root, since it will allow you to take a screenshot with .. I think it was the back-button and home-button.

to make it work with more apps, the apps need to have call the correct api. In other words, you have to integrate the api into the apps itself.
For notifications, I use Light Flow and it works perfectly.

You simply turn it on in the accessibility menu and then chose which notification for which you want to configure the led. After that you can change the color of the lights, frequency of the blinking and when to dismiss the lights.
Its pretty simple actually. Try and let me know.

After pressing test you need to lock the screen to see the led test. Try that. :good:

I've been told it works if you select device Xperia U
Hello all !
I recently bought an Xperia SP, and one thing is embarrassing me. It's that the notification bar is active when the battery gets low. I think this a totally absurd option but anyway I tried the two app mentioned in this thread but no results ! I rooted my device and give the right to Light Flow but nothing (The test is not working either) !
So ... if you have any solution !
PS: Sorry if my English is bad, I'm French =P (Don't beat me xD !)
I managed to get it working by selecting Xperia U as suggested, but that doesn't seem to be able to disable the default functions such as low battery notification, it just lets you manage other apps.

Have a look at this thread from the Themes and Apps section:
Illumination for Xperia SP
It might do just what you want, but if not the developer might be willing to help you achieve what you're after, worth the ask...

Anyway to set the navigation buttons to disappear when not in use

Hi, I really like my A2 , nice phone, but I am wondering if there is an option to set the navigation buttons to disappear when not in use either by a button tap or an automatic timed function, I find it takes up a bit too much of the screen when browsing etc, full screen would be really nice.
My phone is not rooted and ideally, I would rather not root the phone.

You might want to put a 'caveat' on that recommendation "Need Root"
Because OP said "My phone is not rooted and ideally, I would rather not root the phone."
It will be possible in Android Pie update. It will arrive between next month and December.

Bad experience with the new One UI update

After the update, those 2 useless bars appeared I've tried to find every setting to turn them off but I can't find any (I already looked in the Edge Screen and all those advanced function settings) nothing helps
Please help me Thank you!
P/s: its function is Back, but I don't need 2 extra Back! My nav works fine!
(Solved) it turns out that the One Hand Operation+ app causes this, I uninstalled it and they are gone

I dont have the issue, i haven't factor reset too. Few people have it and it was solved by reset. It is highly advisable to factory reset. Those lines are actually a navigation gesture. If you swipe download from the line, it acts as back button and swipe straight horizontally to go to home. Swipe upwards for recent apps.
Make backup using smart switch and use google to sync game progress.
