Hi
i need your phone information, i don't know how much similar galaxy s 4 mini variants together.
but you can test it if works or not, its not harmful for your device. it will be done if everything will be correct.
if not works you can type below command on terminal and send me the output result here. i will make the correct one for you.
Code:
mount > /sdcard/mount_info.txt
** this command print the partition information to mount_info.txt file into sdcard.
send me the mount_info.txt to check the partition and fix this backup tool for your device.

EFS backup question
EFS backup is possible only from CWM?
Why to use CWM when I see the /efs folder and its content during the normal phone use? Never tried to copy, I'm just asking...
Update:
Backup now done using EFS Backup Pro tool.

[Q] Make an image from a rom

Hello all,
I'm wondering if there's any way of make an image from my phone, with all the softwares and data already installed and configured (just like Macrium Reflect do on Windows). Just like a backup, so if I have any kind of problem, I just have to flash my .zip into the phone again.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried ClockworkModRecovery?
Fruit cake maker is a better solution for your question. Plus if you name the .zip it creates pg58img.zip and place it on your SD card root. Then you don't even need cwm.

just make a backup through CWM menu, it will backup EVERYTHING on your phone and save to clockworkmod/backup/..... in your sdcard. The backup included few .tar files instead of a single .zip, but the result is the same --- you can restore it (overwrite everything) to your phone at anytime.

When you backup with the recovery menu(power+volume button simultaneously pressed until u see the android picture), you will find this backup files either in the EXT SD card or the Internal SD depending the CWM version, in the clockworkmod/backup. All you have to do is to get into recovery mode and restore.....it works perfectly
It worked!
That was just what I needed!
Many thanks for your help guys....

[Q] Please Help!! (TWRP BACKUP)

Please help me! I was on Sense 5 rooted with twrp installed. Decided id try out the new CM 10.1 for the HTC ONE. So i backed up my system, data and everything else and proceeded to install CM. Decided it wasnt for me, went to TWRP, went to restore and there are no files there? What happened? I can see I only have 6GB storage available so the file is there somewhere!! How do i flash the backup? i read about a twrp utility or that the file structure is off?
Thanks for your help!!
UPDATE: When I go into a file manager, the backup from today is there.. it is in TWRP> BACKUPS> HT34JXXXXXX> (2013-05-14 @ 8:06 AM)
and inside that folder are the usual backup files. BUT IT STILL WONT SHOW UP IN TWRP WHEN I PRESS "RESTORE"
Anyone? I'm dieing here!!!
Reflash recovery, and see if now work.
I've restored yesterday my backup and no prob with TWRP.
And search your file in sdcard/0
If it will not work, reflash rom.
Don't know if this happened but I had a galaxy s3 before I got the htc one and I understood that cyanogenmod is a 4.2.2 type of rom and we have a 4.1.2 rom. A lot of peeps in the galaxy's forum would have trouble going back to touchwiz roms because the say flashing a 4.2.2type of rom partitions the memory files differently so then the 4.1.1 stock or custom roms. You may have to somehow unroot the phone and "push" the phone back to stock using your computer. People had to do that before with the s3. Hope that helps maybe. I have to go to work now. Good luck
Should I try to flash clockwork mod? Just go into the play store, download and flash from within the app? I don't understand I made a full nandroid it is in my phone and on my computer.. Why can't twrp recognize it?

CWM can't restore TWRP backup.
If you backupped your rom with TWRP, this will restore it.
Did you try to see in sdcard/0?

This is in the stock cm10 file manager. This is the exact backup I'd like to restore but when I go into the recovery and press on restore, nothing shows please keep responding!!!!
For team win recover the files need to be in /sdcard/0 the number zero or it won't be recognized. Move the directory structure to /sdcard/0. Also copy the directory with the backup to your computer in case.
Can we see the whole directory structure of where these files are located? like /recovery/2012305/ or where ever it happens to be?

Search the SD card for boot.emmc.win you should get two results one from the original backup and one from the new one. You need to get both the backups together. Also copy your original backup to your computer so you have a copy of it in case you need to wipe or something.

OK so did you copy your backup to your computer yet???? Well if not now would really really be the time to do that. Looks like there is a issue with how CM is doing the SD card and TWRP. So first copy the backup off of your phone. Should I say it again? COPY THE BACKUP OFF YOUR PHONE. Now go get the correct RUU for your phone. Run that sucker and restore the phone to stock. You will need to relock your bootloader. Once that is done put TWRP back on your phone and copy your backup to the phone.
Ran into this myself. Because of 4.2.2's support for multiple users, it segments the internal storage into pieces(i.e. 0 for first user, 1 for second user, 2, 3, so on). I didn't realize this and had to start from scratch.
Copy your TWRP backup(and anything else you don't want to lose) to your computer and delete the 0 file. Re-add your files to the internal storage(be sure to keep a copy on your computer). Then reboot into bootloader, fastboot erase cache, reflash, and reboot into recovery. Don't let the CM10.1 ROM start up, otherwise you'll be doing it again.
Alternatively, use the All-In-One toolkit to adb sideload a non-CM10.1 ROM onto your phone, delete the 0 folder(after transferring to your computer what you don't want to lose, of course), reboot recovery, and attempt to restore.
Thanks guys, got it working

This is the same problems people with the GNex came across moving back from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2 last year - you have to remember the internal memory changed and manually move fles to the non-0 folders! You guys should read up more before jumping head long into a new Android version!
Glad it's sorted now though

OOPs--sorry this must be an HTC specific problem--sorry for poking my Samsung nose in...
Maybe I am not understanding the thread but--
In my Galaxy Note2 all my TWRP backups, and I have about 5, are all in ext.sd. card and I have used it to restore on several occasions--could be a device specific situation, but in Note2 it's fine to have them in ext.sd card.

[LB][TWRP 2.6.0.0][CWM 6.0.3.2] ZRDualRecovery

Again I'm not the dev of these custom recovery. Just that I pack them together and modified a theme to work with our ZR phone.
Installation procedure:
1. Just unzip lockeddualrecovery2.6.0-RELEASE.windows.zip in your PC and run either supersu.bat or superuser.bat.
2. After all files are installed, your phone should reboot automatically into CWM.
3. If you're unable to see CWM and your phone just reboot normally to Android, then you might be suffering from remount-reboot issue. Just run the fix for remount-reboot first.
How to enter CWM/TWRP:
1. During a reboot, when the LED turns green, press VOL-UP for CWM or VOL-DOWN for TWRP. The LED will then turn purple before entering the selected custom recovery.
How to apply the proper theme in TWRP to fix UI issue:
1. Copy the TWRP_theme_720_play.zip into /sdcard/TWRP/theme and rename it as ui.zip
How to restore stock recovery
1. Delete the following files:
/system/bin/recovery.twrp.cpio.lzma (or .tar)
/system/bin/recovery.cwm.cpio.lzma (or .tar)
/system/bin/charger
/system/bin/ric
/system/bin/chargemon
/system/bin/dualrecovery.sh
2. Inside /system/bin/ rename chargemon.stock to chargemon
3. Change permission for chargemon (chmod 755 chargemon)

- ClockWorkMod for CWM
- z31s1g for the beautiful Holofied theme. I only rescaled some images and edit the xml for 720p display.
excuse me for my ignorance noobish question, but why do we need a dual boot recovery? whats special about twrp if we already have a fine working cwm? or perhaps if one prefers twrp why whould be need both?

TWRP folder is on internal sd card so i copy the ui.zip into internal sd/TWRP/theme.
But when i entering into TWRP mode, i can only see the partial screen which contain install, wipe and backup buttons in big icon.
And no way to get out of recovery mode except removing the battery.

So it seems TWRP is unable to read the theme file. Can you check if your ui.zip file is corrupted?

[EFS][IMEI][ZIP]Nexus 4 IMEI/EFS Backup/Restore Flashable Zip

IMEI/EFS BACKUP
What is EFS/IMEI ?
Every Phone has a partition which contains data relating to your IMEI ,radio settings, data profiles etc.. This in particular is famous with Samsung devices which have the root /EFS folder and which is higly recommended to be backed up before flashing any Custom ROMs..However there is a common misconception that there is no EFS partition for the Nexus since there is no root /EFS Directory and everything is contained in dev/blocks ..
On the Nexus 4 the IMEI info is stored in the three blocks
m9kefs1 (/dev/block/mmcblk0p8)
m9kefs2 (/dev/block/mmcblk0p9)
m9kefs3 (/dev/block/mmcblk0p10)
These blocks contain all the IMEI info pertaining to your device. This data is highly Device specific that means each device has a different data in each block unlike the blocks for recovery, boot which are common for all . So EFS/IMEI of your device is Unique to your phone itself and hence it is necessary to backup your EFS.
WHY BACKUP EFS ?
1) Some points have been covered in the What section itself ( Unique to each device, important data)
2) Sometimes during a flash or even otherwise there is a bad block in your partition which corrupts a part of the EFS/IMEI partition . You are left with nothing but a dead weight you can use as a tablet without calling features or you will need to revert back to baseband version .27(This baseband seems magical since it still is able to read the corrupted data) and Android 4.2.2 .This makes it essential to backup your current partitions to flash the same if ever the same problem occurs with your device.
HOW TO BACKUP ?
FLASHABLE ZIP
Original Script from Nexus 5 thread courtesy @autoprime modified for the Nexus 4
*Download Nexus_4_Backup_EFS.zip to your SD Card from Links below!!
*
*Flash the same with TWRP/CWM no wipes needed-reboot
*
*This will create a flashable zip (efsbackupflashable.zip) in /sdcard/EFS_Backup/ ...
*
*If you can't find it under /sdcard/EFS_Backup/... try /data/media/EFS_Backup/ instead. (Thanks @pincher65 )
*
*Also the EFS_Backup will contain the raw images of the 3 blocks (m9kefs1.img,m9kefs2.img,m9kefs3.img)
*
*Note each of the 3 .imgs will be exactly of 780 kb each
*
*Save this folder to your PC/Email/Drive for safety purpose

To restore your original EFS just boot into recovery and flash the efsbackupflashable.zip in your /sdcard/EFS_Backup folder.
If flashable zip wasn't created or to manually restore efs img files run the following commands using adb shell while in recovery
If saved in /sdcard/EFS_Backup
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/EFS_Backup/m9kefs1.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8
dd if=/sdcard/EFS_Backup/m9kefs2.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9

This looks great, One thing I noticed though, downloading the F2FS version from Mega was that it was named the same as EXT4 version. Could you rename them to avoid confusion for users and prevent accidental flashing of the wrong format version. Also just to report the google drive links seem to just open up inside the folder and don't provide an option for downloading the zip as a package. Thanks a lot for your effort :good:

If I use a backup on a different Nexus 4 (brioken screen, would like to put the IMEI of the broken phone on the new phone), would that work?
basically extract the file from the broken phone and load it on the intact phone?

/data/media not data/media

[Q] i8190 IMEI NULL/NULL

Hello,
got the same Problem like alot others. Wrong flashing and the complete EFS was destroyed.
Now i go back to Stock, rebuild the Baseband and the Counter is 0. But still have IMEI NULL/NULL
I read now alot of posts in the Net and tryed a lot but nothing helped.
So my Question is, is there really a solution to build the IMEI back to the Original one if you completly lose the original
EFS Folder? Or do i need to get it to technican to get it back with a Box?
I tryed IMEI Changer App but this one doesnt work on my i8190.
If there is another way to fix this, would be grate to get a but of Help.
Thank you in advance.
So i try to change the IMEI with ALP. But ALP directly gets an Read Error while try to get the IMEI.
Is there a File i can put in and change it with ALP to get back my IMEI?
I had the same problem when i was on my SGY. Just reflash the rom through odin and fix permissions. ??
There is no bad choises, only bad results.
SGS III Mini
tenshi_xp's PAC Rom RC-3
KitKat 4.4.4.
Hi,
thank you for your Answer. But i already reflashed Stock Rom all things are back, i just miss the IMEI File or Area. Saw on the net there are IMEI Folder to flash with ODIN
so i can change it with ALP. But most of the Sites or Files or deleted, maybe false and Viruses, i dont know.
My Problem is that my complete EFS Folder was lost, no Backup nothing. With different Flashes and Stuff i got it back with Baseband, CSC and so on. Just my IMEI tells
me NULL/NULL and ALP cant get it, because this Part isnt available anymore
Can you tell me Stockrom or something i can try? Need something for an open German i8190.
Best Regards

Our IMEI number isn't saved in /efs partition/folder. It's saved in mmcblk0p9 partition which take up to 1MB. The efs partition (/efs>imei folder) only contains the IMEI key code to access the IMEI number in mmcblk0p9 path. If your IMEI key code got wiped and you didn't make a backup of your efs partition, then you will (unfortunately) never see your IMEI again
BTW : Does WiFi, Bluetooth etc. works or not?
EDIT : I found a interesting therad for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755787. Maybe you can use this efs backup from this user and change the IMEI to your original one.

Yes all other Services are working WiFi and BT. Just the IMEI Numbers are gone.
But if its possible to recreate the Folder and File i think its possible to change the IMEI Number with APS to the old one from the Mobilphone.
But i can get them back if i recover with a OctupsBox or how this boxes are calling?!

There is an alternative method. You can flash this efs.img (which you find in the zip file) with terminal emulator which needs ROOT access.
1. root your device and download terminal emulator from Google play store.
2. Copy the efs.img to your internal storage and open terminal emulator.
3. After open terminal emulator type su to give root access, (your supperuser app asks for root access, confirm with yes)
4. Type/Copy this code : dd if=/storage/sdcard0/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 in terminal emulator and press "enter"
5. Now your efs partition got overwritten with the efs.img
BEFORE!! you start this method, backup your "current" efs folder by type in terminal emulator : dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/extSdCard/EFS.img
Please do this at your own risk!

Im sorry but this didnt helped. I think i really need all Parts back to re-partition + Bootloader and all other stuff to get it back.
But i think to send it to a shop to get it back into life.
