I got help from mamenyaka and he told me he would only help if I adder the device officially to Ubuntu page and did the project under my name.
I heard you and him had some discussion and fight about Ubuntu Touch etc..
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app

sure we did had some fights and overall he did help me too... just because I had exams and did not had time to work on it that does not means I should not any credits for creating the first version of the port... it is very low that I get seen as nothing when I spent sleepless nights trying to figure out and running around for help..

I don't care who starts or finishes the project. I will thank, and donate to ANYONE who gets it working as a daily driver.

Can somebody tell me if its necessary to have an unlocked bootloader?
Probably a stupid question... sorry.
Thanks in advance!

Of course it is. Everything in this section requires an unlocked bootloader.

But the community needs the help of all devs. Why dont you work together. Or may be individual builds.

Did he use your source? If he did then he should give you some credits for it. I think it's a XDA rule regarding using other peoples work. I did see his comments on your thread but not sure if he actually used your source from github or built from the scratch.
Anyways I hope you two can work together on this project and give us users the ultimate Ubuntu Touch experience. Thanks for all your hard work

[ROM][JB][4.1.2][N8000/13][Unofficial] Paranoid Android UPDATE V0.3!! Dec/14

I just finally got around to porting this thing over to Galaxy note 10.1
I really wanted the PA rom for my tablet but since there wasnt much available I decided to go and make one.
This is literally the first build so there are probably lots of bugs so please bear with me. (Also I am relatively new to building roms and this is my first public rom).
/*Standard disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that happens to you device so please be careful. I will try to help you as much as I can but give no guarantees */
THIS ROM DOES NOT CHECK WHICH DEVICE ITS BEING FLASHED ON (REMOVED SOME LINES DUE TO NAMING SILLYNESS) ONLY FLASH ON GALAXY NOTE 10.1 N 8013
INSTRUCTIONS:
0. Make a backup
1. Flash the zip
2. Flash google apps
3. Profit?

Yeah I can try to fix that. I will have to lower the DPI limit. I overestimated the DPI of our tablet.

Hey,
Can anyone tell me if there's a way that I can flash only the kernel from this rom? I upgraded to the OC kernel and it works but I am experiencing bugs in the wi-fi connection and short intermittent freezes. Thanks all.
Thanks for the great ROM!

I'm wondering the same thing. My device works very well with the leaked kernel, except for the battery life. If he managed to accomplish the impossible, I'd be very surprised.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Dear OP,
Thanks for your efforts in cooking the ROM.
However, your thread is highly misleading when some serious efforts are being put to develop a kernel.
Thus, sincerely request you to post a detailed description of your ROM which should include below:
> Screenshots
> Kernel version
> ROM Source
> Compiler
> Installation Instruction
> Known bugs / Issues
This would be highly appreciated by you.
Thanks

Random reboots every 10-15 minutes, hot battery, etc...
Not useful for me.

guys, please give more information. "not booting" says nothing.
please provide a proper logcat, and if needed a proper last_kmsg.
without such logs, developers can do nothing about it.
And as a side note, he doesn't even own the device yet, it's still on its way so have mercy with him he's only building from source and my vendor blobs, nothing more
yeah sorry I forgot the logcat, I just said here that it ain't booting probably some libs. will try to post one in a while.

What do you mean nothing more?
You realize i devoted a lot of hours to develop those roms, right?
Also i reported any problem found and fixed in my way to bring it to X4HD, so others would benefit from my work.
And here is an example so you dont think am only words:
https://github.com/TeamHorizon/vendor_xenonhd/commit/7de038f3b72b97bb5bef034e3954316e7d75931c
And the pm i have sented to the developer
Error corection in source for nfc
In nfc_enchanced.mk in your source it misses an "s"
vendor/xenonhd/config/permissions/com.cyanogenmod.nfc.enhanced.xml:system/etc/permissions/com.cyanogenmod.nfc.enhanced.xml
Should be:
vendor/xenonhd/configs/permissions/com.cyanogenmod.nfc.enhanced.xml:system/etc/permissions/com.cyanogenmod.nfc.enhanced.xml

sorry, it wasn't meant as an offence... i just meant that you can't test/debug yourself ATM, until you have the phone yourself
so you can't know whether it boots ot not. neither you can know of possible bugs
not that you do nothing except compiling
sry if i have chosen the wrong words...

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
DO NO FLASH THIS VIA RECOVERY (You will have to flash via fastboot, Instructions are in the tarball)
Download link: http://bit.ly/15emK26 (Fixed lack of boot.img)
Attention all 16GB users, you may need to apply this fix when coming back to Android or you may not have your full 16GB of storage (Thanks hp420)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As things advance I will post more up to date builds, and hopefully make this a easy flash .ZIP file
Alright! Out of curiosity, why didn't you post this in development?

Yes, when I synced up the repo it pulled a lot from android, but very little shows. I am pretty sure it mostly for drivers like Ubuntu OS
Thanks OP! Subscribing to this Bad Boy!

No problem, I plan on fixing the "blur" and making things seem a little more crisp like in android.
I stumbled upon this blog which seems to have a fix when for when I do my next build.
(Which should most likely be some time tomorrow)
you may just have motivated me to dust off my ns4g and try to get a working build for that sucker, too. I never was able to get any mobile radios working, only wifi.

You should be able to, there is a configuration for it. :highfive:
(Results from just running ./config.sh with no device selected)

Omni is a great new ROM that actually has it's own section of xda fora. http://forum.xda-developers.com/omni
It had a big announcement at BABBQ and the Portal later covered it. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/from-the-bbq-omnirom/
Is this sense or aosp?

AOSP. I'll add that to top post.
Looks interesting. Will be taking this for a spin this weekend thank you Xda fellows
Edit...just attempted to flash and it failed right away. Downloading again to see if it was just a bad download. Can someone else please provide feedback

Up until just moments ago, that did happen; however, there is a new build which should fix that issue. It was the updater_script failing due to a script missing. That has since been fixed, and it should flash now with no issue at all.
is this supposed to be CM's replacement? lol
Flash gapps for this Rom?

No. Omni views all third-party firmware as a part of the same community and is not meant to be a replacement, simply another member of the greater ROM community.

Yes, as with all source-built AOSP ROMs, this will require flashing the 4.3 Gapps.

Actually, I do as well; that's why I won't be able to run this for 1/2 the week probably. Also, since I use Ting it complains about the network and stuff.
