Don't mean to sound fussy, but you may want to change "4.2" to "4.3" in the OP before some idiot screws something up

is there any ETA on when the GPS fixes from 10.1 will be implemented with 10.2?

FXP236 released

Hope I'm not breaking any rules here - I've also posted this in the 4.2.2 thread
I wouldn't rush to go to 4.3.
There are many complaints about "micro-hangs" where sometimes there is a small delay, or maybe you have to press twice on an item to get a response. This was very noticeable when using the AOSP browser in both the 4.3 ROMs I have tried on my Tablet Z (CM10.2 and PAC). I would sometimes have to press 3 times on an item before it would respond.
It was so annoying I've gone back to a 4.2.2 ROM (Baked, BB-9). No more problems with touches not working - and working GPS :good:
This issue was reported to & fixed by the ParanoidAndroid team in their ROM which I use on my phone. It's something to do with an official (JWR66V ?) and trial (JSS15J ?) version being released, and developers using the trial 'buggy' one.
Until the CM team state they have also fixed it, I am staying on 4.2.2

Did not notice it, which nightly of cm10.2 did you try?
Inviato dal mio Galaxy Nexus con Tapatalk 2

I've encountered this problem as well mostly when I press enter or go to a website it doesn't register it the first time you press it.
Also I'm getting the screen flickering every now then but so far only in the aosp browser and chrome, haven't tried Firefox yet.
Sent from my SGP311 using XDA Premium HD app

I was getting screen flickers only with stock browser as you and when renaming folders on the home.
I use Firefox in desktop mode and I have some issue with FB site when viewing images but I think it's a FB issue.
Anyway, flickers seems to become more rare as new nightly pulls out.

I just wanted to report that I unlocked my bootloader on the weekend and installed CM 10.2 (FXP236):
PROS:
- It's snappier than stock in every aspect
- All tested hardware components work as they should - not tested yet: Bluetooth, infraret and HDMI
- PIE controls are also a great addition freeing a small but valuable pixel stripe for my apps. I'm addicted already
CONS:
- The CM lockscreen is landscape mode only. Apparently there's no lockscreen available for CM that automatically changes orientation when the device is rotated. Sony stock did
- It's obviously impossible to recharge the device when powered off. Whenever I tried the system would restart and be very sluggish until a second reboot.

Yes, this was also a problem on 10.1
I'm surprised it isn't more widely reported as an issue. This tablet takes long enough to charge - having to leave it switched on while charging just doesn't help. No such problem on stock
For me, things like this go against what a custom ROM is about. Things should be better than stock, not worse
Oh well, at least GPS has been fixed at last.

Lockscreen on my wifi tab rotates no problem.
I've never tried to charge it while switched off - it took a good 3-4 hours on the stock ROM to fully charge from empty, seems to be the same (or possibly slightly better) with CM.

For anyone running this rom, is it in the phablet or tablet mode? Phablet is the mode the nexus 7 runs in.
I love you man!
I would think it would run on the 3113 but I'll wait.
Home launcher & app drawer stayed in landscape mode, enabled screen rotations, everything else can be rotated (settings, apps, lockscreen...) but not home launcher & in app drawer...
Wifi tethering not working, auto switching off after few seconds switched on...

If want to help do donate to help me get back my phone
Since I haven't seen anyone post feedback on this Project at all, and I'm not even sure if it will boot, but I'll give this a try as soon as my backup is done and I'll report back.
Zackconsole, could you give any pointers regarding on how to patch?
I'm mostly an app developer and I don't have that much experience with Kernels (yet), but I do know how to compile android, I prefer my own builds over FXP and CyanogenMod, because it allows a bit more customization.
Anyway, going to give this a try and see if it even boots (In the "working" list you only have the Arc/s noted as "booting") and then report back.
If I understood correctly this is based on FXP's CyanogenMod?
Dympy.
EDIT1:
Flashed, booted, and damn this is fast.
Going to mess around a bit the coming hour and then reflash my own CM10 backup again
BTW, donations coming your way, this has to be the best project so far.
EDIT2:
Donation made (not much $10) and I tested the slide out keyboard from the Pro.
The keyboard works, function wise, which is a good thing!
Rotation not yet and backlight of course, but we knew these things. What I understood from the backlight is that it's defined somewhere in the framework-res file. Not yet sure where, but I'll figure it out someday
For now back to CM10, keep up the work man!
It didnt work for me....i had boot loop problem. I had followed the steps which was mentioned

Just installed and using now.
Noted a gallery force close upon first boot. Also gallery3d failed, not sure if that's expected due to camera not working. Gallery is working fine though.
I tried to exit the settings and got a force close message from setup wizard. I have a screenshot, and then noticed the wallpaper changed back to default after having changed it. It has just happened the once.
I made a phone call and sound was working ok (just a quick call).
First time using aokp, but I'm impressed so I'll use it for longer and let you know of any bugs I come across
Many thanks,
Lunar.

Hello champ,
I was using my dock when i went to sleep last night, having the phone charge whilst using the night mode clock. I woke up a couple of hours later and the phone turned itself off at some point. The charge light was on but it hadn't charged at all.
A moment ago after using the phone to check Facebook and Twitter, it was left alone with the screen off, and it managed to switch itself off. No reboot, just off.
I have not adjusted the performance settings at all.
Cheers,
Lunar.

Hello,
I've reinstalled the rom last night to give it another go and try and catch a logcat (will be the first time, I presume adb logcat -v long is the best technique).
I haven't had the same problem yet, only watching video which I guess is expected.
I'll keep it running for a while, seems very nice.
[Edit] trying to use the swag wallpapers, a lot of them aren't loading up, is that a common problem? Would a logcat help?
Cheers,
Lunar.

So...
My Impressions are:
-Unstable (Reboots with Screen On and Off)
-All System Sounds And Music let freez the ROM
-Battery drain is very extrem (No Changes in Performance Control)
-Many stuff is buggy (Swag Wallpaper,Ui Settings ect.)
So not a daily driver for me... back to stock Wait for FXP214 Release with fixed Sound (In Call,Music Audio,Loudness on Speaker ect.)
Next release of KXP with fxp214?
And another request... Can u change the Startlogo (FXP->KXP)? Would to give me more AOKP feeling )
Thanks for all Champ :good:

This has multilanguage support.
I have been using this ROM for a couple of days, and everything seems to be working.
I also added emoji support, but the smileys are in black and white, unlike the official version.
nice ..downloading will try the Rom and will report with the feedback.
Flashed and perfect except one big problem: Gallery and Music doesnt recognise external sdcard files
And another problem: Slide down Music app icon, and also Notes icon; they FC.
External Sdcard problem solved by itself. Or just me clicked refresh button in Music folder.

Oh, i forgot about that.
External sdcard is recognized in file manager, though.
woah! Finally someone has done it!
Must have taken a lot of work, well done! I haven't used MIUI in a while, is the animation still frequently laggy when say... using any of the fancy desktop transition effects? Or when opening and closing folders containing lots of apps?
Thanks in advance :good:
i am downloading now too excited.. so wifi direct is working wow good job m8..
one question is there anyway with 3rd party app to have video calls over 3g?(no through wifi like skype or vider..)

Can you also provide a solution about led blinking when battery is low thing? In original Miui there is extra settings about phone but with Aosp this can't be shot down.

Is there a setting for this in the latest CM 10.1 ROM? If there is, i can try to port using CM.
Just downloaded and installed this ROM.
I now realize how much I've missed MIUI
Thanks @datagutt , MIUI 4.2.2 have been greatly missed for our S3.
It seems I have a tough choice ahead of me….-stay with 10.2 or revert back to 10.1 and MIUI
Will let the ROM settle for some days and see.

[WIP] [2014-12-11] CyanogenMod 12 ALPHA semi-nightly builds from Archi's sources

I don't actually do this romming thing, I just compile the ROMs. All credit to JustArchi, Moster2, arter97, etc.
Read the WHOLE OP.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*

*/
Working
- updater-script (flashing)
- kernel (booting)
- OpenGL (CPU rendering)
- MALI blobs (GPU rendering)
- HWComposer and MALI R4P0 drivers
- Rotation
- Camera (this DOES NOT include stock camera app, use e.g. google camera)
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- NFC (Android Beam)
- Sensors (ALL!)
- Internal / External SD Card
- Vibration
- GPS
- RIL (including mobile data)
Not Working
- Nothing?!?
This is NOT A STABLE BUILD.
If you suffer bootloops, or any other bugs, I do not care, unless you can provide a logcat.
If you have an issue that has already been solved or reported, do not expect a response. I'm 99% sure that your issue is known and is being worked on by the devs.
You do not need to flash this over any other ROM. Wipe dalvik cache, data and system before flashing. Allow some time for ART to finish booting.
If it doesn't work for you, and you aren't willing to put the effort in to either get a logcat or perhaps do a little bit of research by yourself, go back to 4.4. You clearly should not be running pre-alpha builds.
I use the ParanoidAndroid Beta gapps, they work fine.
And the downloads? (Changelog is in the next post down)

build date and cm version seem to be off. I don't know why, but the kernel version is right
If you like this, support JustArchi, Moster2 and arter97. They do all the code, I just build the builds.
I use TWRP, although any recovery should work fine. As long as your recovery is recent (i.e the latest version), it will not make a difference to how successful your installation is.
Installing in 4 simple steps!
Wipe dalvik cache, cache, data and system
Flash the ROM
Flash gapps
Doesn't work? Try skipping step 3. Still doesn't work? Logs or it didn't happen.
Fixing your problem in 4 simple steps!
Use the search function. Think of it as Google, but for this thread. Also search Archi's thread
Read the last 10-15 pages of both this thread, and Archi's
Still haven't found someone who has reported your issue or haven't found a fix? logcatlogcatlogcatlogcat. Post it here in an attachment. Explain how you produced the issue, specifically. "I pressed the button and then the thingy stopped working" is not enough.
"Wow it's been a whole two days and you haven't posted a new build?!?"
I have a life. I generally prefer my actual life over reading XDA. I do go places without an internet connection. I do not always have a computer capable of building Android. I do sleep. I do go out during the day. I do live in a timezone that is not in the USA. Therefore, I may disappear off the internet for hours, even days at a time. You can always build your own builds if you want!
These builds come straight from @JustArchi's repos. To duplicate my build, use the CM 12 manifest and put Archi's roomservice.xml in your local_manifest folder. I recommend getting a CM11 build working before attempting to build this.

problem with long sms
Hey,
First, thank you for sharing and your work!
I have only one question: does long sms works? I have issiu with Archi's Lolipop - If message is not too long (1 sms) everything is fine, but if im writing long message like 2-4 sms, message is not send, i can't call anyone till phone reboot and also i cannot retrive SMSC number. After reboot everything is ok.
Any fix or tip?

I have no idea. Get a logcat of what happens when you send a long SMS.
thanks, will give it a go.
Is the initial keyboard start-up issue fixed in this build? (or alternatively, is there a way to run the first time boot script after I enable the keyboard, instead of having to set up everything manually?

He is not a dev. He even mentions it in OP.
I don't get it.
What's the difference between this and JustArchi's? Sure this is a newer build but nothing else has changed?
I am not getting the point of making a rom by cloning Archie's branch. Is their any value additions? This is the main reason why Dhiru sometimes keeping his work closed. I am not demoralizing OP. Some difference/value additions will make our day.. Cheers
Could you add trim support to kernel?
other then that- rom works great. Hiccups i got on Archis rom are gone here. for now that is.
Difference is home button wake works(?)

Yeah, but still, nothing has changed from JustArchi's sources, which also has this features. The only thing is that this is compiled and released earlier than JustArchi's.
If that's the main point, to release a ROM based on JustArchis's sources before him, it's just so rude.
do I have to flash anything else exept rom, like gapps, 3g fix, camera fix ?
Did anyone tested the rom????????
