[Q] Z1 with AT&T LTE? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will there be a Z1 model coming that supports U.S. AT&T LTE?

Rumor has it AT&T's not going to pick it up, so we'll have to see if Sony sells it like they did the ZL on their site. If it goes to (only) Tmobile that could really screw it up for AT&T users like it did the XZ I imagine. Since Tmobile's coverage is getting better and their HSPA+ speeds supposedly blow away AT&T I might be switching.......

I don't care if AT&T is going to carry it, all I care about is sony releasing a model that will work with AT&T LTE lol :good:

Look at gsm arena. There's like 3 different models. Look for the 700 band one then buy that model

U need the c6906 for Att lte. Is the only one of the 3 that supports the 700 MHz band for Att LTE
I've been looking few online stores and so far none of them are advertising it. With the exception of the other 2 the c6903 and the other one. I emailed Handtec let's see what they reply. I asked negrielectronics and they Dont have that model to present order. Let's keep searching.

ATT has 4,17, 29 bands.
Z1 white paper states that LTE bands 4 and 17 are supported.
thus......

700 is the frequency of the band 17, and not the band itself

Nice, so we are looking for model C6906. And just to clarify AT&T LTE needs the 700Mhz freq. correct?

On GSM arena it says that all models support 1700 but like you said AT&T only uses that in some markets.

Sony said it was coming to the US so we might have to wait to get it direct from sony and it should be cheaper too.

Yea. Hate waiting tho. Lol. When the xz came out sony USA started selling it about 2 months or more later. I remember cause I bought the international version
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

I think sonystyle is only gonna sell the HSPA+ version, since it's rumored that Tmo is gonna have an exclusive on the LTE version.
Just like the Xperia Z, smh

It could be time for at&t to pick up Z1 because tmo already has Z like GS4 Active is at&t exclusively.

Seems most likely this time, both ZU and Z1's NA variant will be available in Oct.

As I know, C6906 could be confimed with Bell Mobility(LTE) and Rogers(LTE) in CANADA.
No information about the device for US currently

They said its and ocataband LTE phone and that it will work with all current LTE carriers..? At least that is what Clove says. Soo, were not fully confirmed it will have AT&T LTE..?

I wish that was the case, but the one on Clove lists the bands as:
4G Yes
Frequencies Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20
It is octaband, but we need another band for AT&T. Oh the irony!
Unfortunately for AT&T, we need Band 17.

Virgin Mobile is GSM in Canada and Virgin Mobile Canada is what the article is referring to.
I've been thinking further about this....it sounds to me like this will be a Virgin Europe thing....not US. In Europe, Virgin is also an MVNO. They use EE's network, who is a GSM carrier.

DevEd: Same bands as TMO?

Quick question for you guys: does the Moto X DevEd have all the same radio bands as the T-Mobile edition? I'm considering returning my MotoMaker version since some of the bands don't work with T-Mobile and was wondering if I'd be in the same boat with the DevEd; namely that certain 3G bands won't work on T-Mobile? I've been searching XDA and the Motorola website, but I haven't found an answer. Thanks in advance
Looks like they will. Take a look on the specs page

Yeah I'm not entirely sure, the spec page for the DevEd doesn't list the 1700 band, which I think is needed for T-Mobile HSPA+ unless your area has been refarmed to the 1900 band already. So I want to make sure before I take the chance on buying the Developer Edition.

Nothing in my area yet. I hope soon. If band 12 doesn't make things better I might be looking to jump ship. My wife has service everywhere I don't on att. LTE service.... What's the point of the fastest LTE if you can't access it.

Will Spice Dream UNO work in USA?

Hi All,
I may travel to USA soon. I am planning to use my Spice dream UNO there. Does our phone work in USA?
Please let me know. I don't want to buy a new phone. I am very happy with CM11 in dream UNO
Thanks
The only info I can find so far is that it is a gsm/hspa phone. It should work but I don't know what bands it uses. If you know please list them.

As per GSM Arena the frequencies are
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 2100

Ok so i am vancouver almost USA. And i had to buy a new phone. Went to a mobile center and they told me spice will
only work on ROgers, bel and telus .. So in a way yes it will work in USA . But many other Mobile networks like WInd or
mobilicity will not work. Thats why i bought a nexus 5. Trust me nexus devices and iphones (starting from iphone5) works everywhere.

Which Radio works best on Airtel - India?

I am on Chroma 24 Oct build, having MDM9625_104662.22.05.27R Radio, I am getting frequent Signal drops and LTE is patchy at the best specially in Delhi and NCR region. Has anyone else experienced this and have you been able to solve this and did you flash a different Radio? I am on Airtel.
All the help would be appreciated guys.
Thanks.
I'm on same radio and I'm in Baton Rouge. Great for me but some aren't. Base your radio on signal. Try a different one. Or two. Maybe find out what radio comes with the stock update in your area.

Was kind of hoping that someone in India on the Nexus 6, Airtel service provider, would be able to advise me what works best. Would wait and see if someone has already tried this option, else will flash a couple of radios and see what works best.
Thanks.

That's not how it works. How well someone gets a signal depends on a massive lost of variables. Being in the same.country and on the same.network doesn't come close to being enough. No one on your network will.have identical experiences with a radio.
All you can do is try them. There are no shortcuts.
Thank you
You're welcome.

Hello @vishalmmehra
Its not a baseband problem.
Actually LTE is still Under Development in Delhi.
You will face signal drops very frequently
Though you can try turning back to WCDMA aka 3G.
I don't think you will face issue again but if you, don't forget to mention me or my bud @blueyes for help

Airtel 4g support in Mumbai for nexus 6
Hi, facing same problem with airtel service in Mumbai. The service is not started in all areas and as confirmed with airtel, they are using 40band 2300mhz frequency. While nexus 6 supports 41band 2800mhz frequency, hence airtel people said to me that nexus 6 is NOT COMPATIBLE
Is there any solution to it (for using 4g on nexus 6)? I am running on stock mm.
Thanks in advance.
Had a big fight over this issue anyways came to a conclusion that it will not support unless they enable Band 3 for Mumbai circle.
in simple words find attached files they have 2 bands Band 3 and 40 and only 40 is enabled for Mumbai which is not supported by NExus 6 Nexus 5 .

Thanks so much I had to change network because of this issue, recently rejoined Vodafone and now m able to see the H symbol and not only the symbol, the speed is considerably fast. Also in mumbai they are going to start 4G services on the band that Nexus 6 supports. So its a good news for shamu users
