Poetic Palette Slim Hard Case - G2 Accessories

This is a minimal case, it's basically Poetic's Version of the Incipio Feather Line of cases...that said I just need some scratch protection till some better protecting cases are out...The case itself fits snugly onto the phone, there is no lip and no top and bottom protection..attached are photos.

No lip meaning that if set face down the glass is contacting the surface?
How does the case stay on the phone?
Do the corners of the case on the top and bottom of the phone touch before the phone, meaning if standing on end does the case touch or the phone surface?
I ordered one from amazon today in anticipation of Verizon's release in a couple days.

Corners and the edges wrap around the bezel to hold it in but if you put the phone face down the glass will contact a table surface as there's pretty much no lip.

for like 7 bucks, eh why not. I'll get a 2 dollar TPU on eBay once they start coming out lol

Dang. Too late to cancel the order with amazon. Guess I'll be sending it back.

Thanks for posting! just ordered one off amazon!

FYI to everyone...this does NOT fit the Verizon version.

picked one up today for free from their warehouse, now if I can just go buy the phone tomorrow is a different story.

Another confirmation that this does not fit the Verizon model....

I really like the size of this case as it seems on par with the Rock cases I've used with my SGS2, 3, and 4.
Can you comment on the "textured" feel? What I really look for in a case is that it has some friction/grip to it so that I can rest the phone in my hand at an angle and it won't slide out.

it feels like soft rubber, kind of like the N7 (2013) back.

Lip is minimal but glass is not touching a table surface. You can test it with some source of light. Actually, lip is 1mm and lip cover whole left and right edges (including corners) of the phone. Whoever looks for Ultra-Slim case, this is the case to get. At least for now.

I agree! It doesn't draw attention, the lip is barely noticeable during usage and it's reasonably priced! :good:

wish it worked for verizon atleast they refunded me haha

Loving this case. It's slightly textured like the Rock case for my S3 and the Quicksand case for my S4, which makes the phone feel a little safer in my hands.
It's super slim and light. It was also crazy inexpensive. +1 from me.

This case seems really nice. I paid less than $8 for two (shipped). Got here in three days from California (i live in central Florida).
It's pretty well made and no giant bezel covering.
The link is below and a video review below that.
Excuse the giant thumb. I tried to rip it off today at work.

First of all thanks for the video review. I just bought one of these to hold me over till more high end cases come out and are reviewed.
The one thing I like about this case is that it offers a vertical and horizontal stand positions.
Also, you scared me for a second there when you pulled the knife out
On a side note what rom are you running.? I really want to move the notification bar to the bottom where the best home, back, and app list buttons are.
How easy it to pull the N7 off of the anti slip adhesive? Just asking in case I want to dock it.
Quite like the look and functionality of that case. But how reliable is the adhesive? I would be worried about the Nexus 7 falling off suddenly...
The dodo case uses it as well I believe.

now that you've used it for a few days, i have the same questions as above. how reliable is the adhesive and how easy is it to remove? does it leave a residue on the back of the tablet?
I noticed that the case fits the Nexus 7 very well. Do you think a nexus 7 with a tpu case on it would still fit inside? I am worried about the height.

I'm curious too. I already bought it (it was cheap and the dual stands look sturdier than on other cases) but I'd like to keep the back of the Nexus as pristine as I can for as long as possible.

I've been using this case for about two days.
The case leaves a decent gap for the speaker and the adhesive is rock solid. It doesn't leave a residue.
SCARY! Just wanted to let you know to be VERY careful! I am on my second Nexus 7 as my first one the screen did crack after a light fall. And Asus is not fixing them for very cheap! Around $195 for the screen and repair costs, so I just spend about $60 bucks more and bought a brand spanking new one. Waiting for the OEM LCD's to come out and then will just repair it myself! Thanks to ifixit anything is possible! Anyway re-cautioning you to be careful!
Cheers,
Vanka

How difficult do you think it would be to remove from the adhesive if you wanted to change cases or, say, had a really bad eye for lining things up but you're kind of a perfectionist when it comes to those things? *cough*

What I find most annoying about these cases is that they don't cover the top and bottom bezel, which is actually the part that will get scratched the most easily as it's the parts that have the most friction going into and coming out of your pocket! I can't wait to get some nice OEM cases (like the S3 TPU case that Samsung makes) or Case Mate cases or Seidio! Come on companies! Make your cases

Avoid the metal backs, I bought one for an S3 that I was trying, GPS dropped from seeing 16 Satellites to 3 and I lost 2 bars of cell signal. So if you want a metal back, make sure you can return it just in case.

Rule of thumb: never cover your internal antennas with metal! It messes with the reception and attenuates the sound of voices in phone calls. The iPhone can do it only because its antenna is on the outside. Still, I personally like the plastic. I mean, it doesn't feel as premium as other devices, but it still feels great in hand Love my device. I got a TPU case to protect it. I haven't dropped my phone in the past 4 years, so the case is just against scratches. hehe.

Nice 1 there...thinking of getting 1 too..but havent decided on the color..mine is the white version..any suggestions besided white @ black?..thanx for the review..
Here is how blue colour of this case looks on the white phone.
The front and one of the back images are taken with flash which kinda screws up the colour, last picture is how it looks in reality.
Frankly in person this case looks quality premium case. It feels nice in hands. I first got Mercury case for my original Note 1 and since then I was waiting for them to launch it for Note II. They have now become my go to manufacturers for cases for all my phones.
Do you think that white color case would get stained after a few months of use much like other TPU cases? Is there any way to order these without that antenna cut-out on the left side? It offers no scratch/drop protection on that corner.
beware, there are many fakes, if you are getting them from ebay, stay away from sellers from hong kong and china, may be other countries as well.
seller from korea are a safe bet, but cannot be too sure.
I have this case in pink and even though that corner is exposed it is a good case mines is tight and it isn't slippery in my hand.

I got three of these...light blue, black and white. they look great and fit great. I think they are the nicest looking cases I've had in any of my phones. so yeah, i'm stoked. specially for the light blue. great shade.
if anyone wants pics let me know. I thought of doing a review but then realized this was already up. no sense wasting time.
Arg this thing is so damn slippery. One of the main reasons I got a case was the phone was always slippery (although I tend to be a little more oily than most).
I loved the Incipio Feather on my iPhone. Slightly grippy. I like the protection and have contemplated going to something like the Rearth Slim because I love the slim cases, but would hate to see what happens in a drop. I did drop my iPhone twice while in the feather and the feather took the brunt of the damage, which was great.

Question
I am interested in buying this case but I don't like cases that stick to my pocket while pulling them out. Does this matte case have any problems?
I notice that there is a line/indentation around the back of the case - does this trap dirt/lint? I am wondering why they placed it there in the first place.
Thanks.

It goes in and out of my jeans pockets with no issues. If you wear skinny jeans, then I can't help you. It is remarkable to me how little dirt/lint stick to this thing. It is made of hard but flexible rubber, I haven't found anything sticking to it. Keep in mind, its a barely bigger than the phone and it does push up my screen protector in the lower left hand corner. My Spigen case didn't do that, but it made the phone feel huge to me.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. What kind of screen protector do you have? I have purchased Invisible Defender (screen protector) and diztronic case. Hopefully they wont cause huge problems.

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Spigen cases always seem to add unnecessary bulk, especially width to phones with their cases. And their colored plastic backs scratch and swirl like crazy.
They are extremely overrated and overpriced imo.

Its the best. I posted a bunch of pics on Android Central. The black/black in my opinion. It has a very matte tacky feeling that repels finger prints. Very good protection with minimal footprint. Better than Otter box Commuter I had on GNex which I loved.
Edit: pics I posted are here, page 9 http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-lg-g2/316095-cases-verizon-g2-9.html
I bought the case and really like it. If I had to find something wrong with it I would say that the rubber can be a lint magnet but it feels good to hold.
I also bought the "iGadgitz Black Leather Pouch Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 II N7100 Android Smartphone Tablet" to protect the screen. After using it for a few days it has loosened up enough to slide in and out with ease. Adds a bit of total protection for the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A25T6XU/ref=oh_details_o04_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've had mine for a week, and apart from picking up any lint like a magnet, which is true for all cases with silicone I've seen, it's fantastic.
Thanks guys, ordered! Went with the white/gray, I'll get a pic up when it comes in!
I like it a lot.
But no case will defeat a face plant on a loose stone driveway, right?
Hold on tight!

Someone in another thread said the white one gets dirty really easy.. 8t does look sick though! I have the black on black. Best case I've ever used hands down. It is quite literally perfect.

I like it a lot.
But no case will defeat a face plant on a loose stone driveway, right?
Hold on tight!
Case went to replacement g2 immediately after unboxing and just before this picture!

EEK!
Holds my baby closer...
I have it and love it. It feels great and provides great protection. I have the white/gray. The gray does attract lint, but not too bad.

I have owned the white/gray one for a little over a week. It is already starting to discolor at the corners and on the back. Pretty sad about that but still a great case. The two part design is great and it adds very little bulk to the phone. The Verizon version back is very slippery so i was happy to add a case that had a tacky feel to it.

I think that would be me, and it's only gotten worse. Too bad, because the white looked good at first.
Case with Verizon holster?
Does anybody know if this case will fit into a Verizon OEM holster? I know the feather did and felt appropriately snug, but didn't know if this would be too tight.
I got mine last Saturday. I picked up the white/gray one even though I heard it discolored easily, it really does pick up colors easily. If you don't clean it right away, it will be harder to clean later. I think I'm going to try and scotch guard it. My one beef is the headphone jack hole, Depending on the plug being plugged in, it sometimes doesn't seat all the way, or stay seated, I may try to open it up larger.
I have the black and the cyan version. Only problem with the cyan is when it gets dirty it will show. Just like with any colored case.

So, today is day 4 and the case has finally picked up some stains that aren't coming out. I should have had some scotch guard ready....
Wireless Charging
Can anyone tell me if the wireless charging will work with this case on the phone?

I had a Otterbox Commuter for my GNex also, which I hated how slippery the outer hard shell part was. Is this one similar or does it have a layer of "soft touch" paint for grip? I read in the second post that he thought it was tacky but wasn't sure if that was relating to the soft core or the shell... Thanks!
edit: received my dualpro and the shell does indeed have soft touch coating. It is still a little slippery, but nothing like the naked phone or my last Otterbox.
