Stock OUYA backup - Ouya Android Development

Can anyone provide a full stock OUYA backup to bring back with CWM? I screwed up but can go back to CWM and lost my backup. Would be helpfull, not just for me, i think.

I picked this link somewhere in the Ouya threads: https://ouyafw.skumler.net/
Firmware collection. Wipe system, data and cache. Flash the latest ROM.

Personnally, I flash latest fw on ouyafw website over Stockplus, wipe cache and dalvik, and do a factory reset with OUYA fw (not with cwm)
Envoyé depuis mon Galaxy Nexus en utilisant Tapatalk 4

thanks for the link
but it didn't solve my problem
I formatted everthing i could (inkluding:SD card data andchache) had to bring back a recovery and did it with "ouya one click cwm recovery" from this forum. after flashing the firmware and booting with the boot.img from the zip i always got stuck in the bootscreen. also with cwm recovery my device is not recognized as ouya in ADB but "(a long hex code) recovery".
any suggestions but a full backup?

Latest ROM directly from OUYA servers
Try with some older versions of ROMS from the link I posted.
One more thing i ripped from the Ouya firmware...
You can get the latest ROM directly from OUYA by going to this link: https://devs.ouya.tv/api/firmware_builds
On the page, you will see the link looking like this: "http://x.cloudfront.net/ota/RC-OUYA-1.x.x-r1_ota.zip"
Copy the link and open it. This way you can download the firmware directly from the Ouya servers.

I don't have CWM but I think he need a full backup ( maybe without data ) on cwm for restore it ...
If anyone can do that ...

Maybe you could sideload a rom via CWM. Does ADB see your device?

Part of the insane way OUYA Inc operates is that every update is actually a full Rom. You may have some luck with 109(?) It would be three updates back, that's the version of StockPlus I'm running.

Could you also upload your source files? I'd like to take a look at what's changed.
I plan on working on it more mid may when my semester ends.

Just wondering if one could do an Android restore from files created with CWM 4.0.1.4 using say CWM 5.0.2.8?

Going to give this a try with ICS B4 and see if it can handle it.

Try this recovery for ICS maybe work. If boot work maybe in ICS the problem is recovery.fstab
The partition is different of HoneyComb?
Greetings
I just tried it on ICS B4 and get the same "Can't mount /data!" error after backing up the boot image, recovery img and system that I got with CWM 4.0.1.4.
Backup to internal card errors with "Can't mount backup path". Whoops! I didn't mount the EMMC. Probably would get the same error as with the external sd.
Recs designed for HC wont wont on ICS as ICS has different partitions.
If we ever get an ICS build that uses the same partitions then the recs for HC will also work on it
Edit: 5.0.2.8 is mirrored and linked to the wiki now

Thanks.
Any with ICS, You can enter the recovery (CWM 5.0.2.8) and go to Advanced-> Show Log
After this reboot to system. Open Root filemanager and go to cache/recovery/last_log (To read the last_log must copy it to another route) & copy the info here.
And repeat the process with Stock Recovery of ICS (Attach ICS Stock Recovery of the ICS B4 of DJ_Steve ROM).

Man, ok heres my story.
Actually iam trying to flash a recovery mode but there so many threads that i dont know wich one is better. I tried some of them but i dont know where to start. I only end up at the fastboot mode and not pass that.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
and you ran "fastboot flash recovery ./recovery.img" ? And you made sure your device is in fastboot mode first?
ok this what i did, i Press VOL + AND POWER at the same time and gave me fastboot.
Then plug in the phone to the computer and the computer detects it but when i go to the computer devices it does not show anything available.
I do have the ROM MANAGER app Installed and flash the recovery mode but it does not show up when i press VOL - AND POWER, It just turns ON.
just type in "fastboot devices". if you see "? device" than you are good. If not you need to install the fastboot drivers.

[RECOVERY] [Crespo] Official TWRP 2.8.x.x

If you want the Official TWRP Recovery (now compatible with KK) for your Nexus S just check this link, there will always be the latest TWRP recovery officially out.
For now the latest is: TWRP 2.8.7.0
LINK: https://dl.twrp.me/crespo/
How to flash this? (Recommended way)
- enter in fastboot mode
- plug to your pc
- open a command prompt at the path where fastboot.exe is located
- type: fastboot flash recovery (drag and drop .img file)
- when done, type: fastboot reboot
PS: You now have a custom recovery and you are rooted. Since 2.5.0.0, TWRP roots your phone for you. Just reboot to recovery, and reboot system, if you are not rooted it will prompt you to root, just slide to accept. Let it reboot ,go to the playstore and download SuperSU.
Or if u are rooted:
- download from the playstore: [ROOT]*Rashr - Flash Tool (Playstore) / [ROOT]*Rashr - The mobile Android Flash-Tool (XDA Thread)
- download the latest TWRP.img
- open the app
- select Flash Other Recovery Image
- browse to your downloads folder
- select the TWRP.img file you just downloaded

Two question:
Is there a way to understand way stuck on boot?
If I restore /system from backup one (same rom) and /data from the last one is the same as full restore the last?
thanks

Just tried to restore a TWRP backup, said it was successful, reboot to system and all I get is "Fastboot Mode - No boot or recovery img"
I can still boot to recovery (TWRP)....
What should I do??
Here's what I did to fix: After restoring backup I wiped caches and installed ROM over the top. It is booting now. Thank goodness... I really didn't want to have to start over from scratch!!
Sucks that I can't rely on my nandroid backups though. Unless I am missing something.. This bug needs to be fixed!

[Q] Doubt about Recovery (PhilZ and CWM) & wipes

Hi everyone!
Maybe I have a basic doubt, but because I don´t understand, I like have clear this. Yesterday I decided root, replace the recovery and install a custom rom on my Note (N7000). I choose the kernel from PhilZ and install following the recommended method (very easy).
After this all work perfect, I do a full backup of actual system (this is nandroid backup, right?) and after this I install the CM 10.1.3 that also work well. I not rememeber exactly, but following some steps to install this ROM I do before or after install this procedures also: WIPE/DATA FACTORY RESET, WIPE CACHE, WIPE DALVIK CACHE. This procedures are correct?
The device work well, but I have a big doubt because if I boot into recovery I not see anymore the PhilZ touch interface, now I see:
CWM Based Recovery 6.0.3.6
that is other recovery, right? Is normal this behavior? I not understand in what step I change the PhilZ recovery to CWM.
Thanks in advance for all info and help to clear this
This is the CWM recovery same as philz, the difference is that, the version you used before.. It was touch, and after flashing the recovery changes as the CM 10.1 flashed their own kernel...
so it is the same recovery, do not worry
and yes, AOSP/CM roms have their specific kernels, so please do not flash philz on the current recovery...
and one more thing... the process is correct, do a wipe data and factory reset and then format system and preload
Thanks NoteboyTech, yes, I know that work basically like PhilZ, but my main doubt is in what moment of all procedures are installed the CWM Based Recovery. This mean that this CWM are installed in the moment that I install the CM 10.1.3?
Now if I like keep the PhilZ, is safe if I boot again in recovery and install from the .zip file from PhilZ again? or not recommend this?
The wipe: I need made the wipe factory, cache and dalvik before each time that I like restore a ROM or also kernel?
Thanks!!!
You are using a cm rom. Philz kernel Tw doesn't work with cm rom. If you flash philz on cm, phone won't boot.
There is no need to wipe if you just changing the kernel.
If you want the touch recovery, you can install nx kernel which includes philz recovery and is a cm based kernel.

Perfect. This mean that if I like keep the PhilZ as recovery I need install the nx kernel, right?
Now, if for example in the future I like try one new version or actual version of my stock ROM, is safe to download from Samsung Updates website, install from .zip like I do with the CM, and ready, I have the stock ROM. Is correct?
OK, I not need wipe anything for kernel installations, but yes for ROMs, right?
Only data/factory and cache or also dalvik?
This wipes I need made before install the ROM or after?
Thanks for all!

Some days back, with the PhilZ recovery, I can do very easy.
To restore a nandroid backup I need use the same recovery or the generated files are compatible with all recovery?

Option to backup efs is in the philz recovery. Or you can use ktool from the playstore to backup efs. This has to be done as soon as you root. There is no point of backup if the imei has already changed.

No, the IMEI is correct, the change is in the SERIAL NUMBER of the device, not IMEI. This can be fixed writing the correct serial number?

It is just name of the ROM, and the developer writes you clearly in the first blue field, in the first text line:
Android Base CM10.1.3. RC1 JellyBean
JellyBean is not ICS (ICS is 4.0.x) so you need Gapps for CM10.1x / Android 4.2.x
CyanogenMod 9 is based on ICS

This isn't meant to be flashed via Odin.
Download the rom + addons + gapps + CM9 (you don't need CM9 gapps). You can download the rom + addons from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075058
1.) Backup everything you need to- call logs, SMS, bookmarks, etc with Titanium or other methods of your choice
2.) Reboot into recovery. Perform the three wipe combo (data, cache, Dalvik)
3.) Flash CM9. You'll probably have to flash it twice- once for the kernel, another time for the rom. Let it boot.
4.) Once CM9 has booted, check that you still have reception.
5.) Reboot into recovery again and do the wipe combo. This time choose to flash the base rom. You'll need to flash it three times- once due to the incompatible partition (first flash overcomes this), another time for the kernel, a third time for the rom.
6.) Once the base rom's finished flashing, reboot. Check you still have your IMEI- you'll know if you still have reception.
7.) Reboot to recovery, flash addons (flash Addons then Addons_V1)
8.) Reboot
9.) Back to recovery (AGAIN), flash gapps.
Unfortunately a one-time flash with Odin isn't possible. But the endless flashes you have to do for RemICS V6 is well worth it

thx for your reply and apologies for getting back to you late.
If only i could do it the way you suggested but for some reason (me) i have messed the phone so that it now no longer is able to mount the external SDCard so putting the relevent zip files on the ext card is useless because in recovery mode using CWM these files fail to show.
I note that via CWM it shows the card as unmounted. If i try and do a mount it fails.
any ideas?

What about your internal storage?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
Here is where my noob-ness kicks in.
What internal storage is available by default on the Note1? Is it just the internal sdcard?
what puzzled me when I last flashed with odin (repeated it a number of times as I was trying to get the device to recognise ext sd card) to get the current Darky Extreme rom on (which is working fine no problem at all) is that there was still some relic directory structure left over. These were all empty folders visible when navigating within CWM. Didn't matter what type of formatting I did they wouldn't go. To summarise: much confusion and something got twisted.
So questions arising are:
-How to nuke the internal disk/card properly so there are no remnants prior to me doing another darky reinstall?
-Then, how to copy a zip file to internal card but still have it remain after the format and wipes that would precede a zip install?
-How to fix the device to mount the ext sdcard? FYI other sdcards can't be mounted either. I have tried 4 different ones. And here's the kicker-once booted I go to file manager and there I can see and access all the files/folders on the external card!!! So it's definitely a phone problem as opposed to a sdcard problem. Something got flagged along the line.

Have I Bricked my Phone?

I am only just new and have been playing around with this custom rom stuff for a short while now, I have ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7 on my I9305T. I have tried a few different Roms so far but they don't work. I tried just today "RevolutionaryS5-V3" it obviously went through the installation process but did not boot into it, just came up with the samsung default ( samsung S III GT- I9305T ) logo in white. It disappeared then came back looping that way.
So now I have went into the "Advanced Menu" and then "show log" I don't know if this will help you but, it displayed this:-
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7
persist.sys.root_access=1
persist.radio.adb_log_on=1
persist.radio.add_power_save=1
persist.radio.apm_sim_not_pwdn=1
service.adb.root=1
keyguard.no_require_sim=true
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice
mobiledata.interfaces=pdp0,wlan0,gprs,ppp0
I:Checking for extendedcommand...
I:Skipping execution of extendedcommand, file no
t found...
I:Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/pl
atform/s3c-sdhci.2/mmc_host/mmc1
The roms I have downloaded are:- aicp_i9305_lp-10.0-RELEASE-20150708 (this one looped its boot logo), cm-11-20150907-NIGHTLY-i9305 (i have the recovery .img for this), cm-12.1-20150926-NIGHTLY-dogo (i have the recovery .img for this), FlashingDroid_S5_v2.2 and RevolutionaryS5-V3, if these roms are any good for my I9305T, Can anyone give me some advise on what or how to install these roms.
Regards,
Wayne
Something went wrong while flashing rom or maybe the rom data is corrupt.
Bootloop means your device fails to boot if system data is corrupt by flashing rom
You had soft brick.
Reboot into recovery and restore the stock rom if you had nandroid backup.

RevolutionaryS5-V3? that one is not for the i9305 unless i have missed a thread for it. The roms for your phone can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development-i9305
but as stated flash stock rom again, flash custom recovery and then choose the rom for your phone
Hey Piyush,
Initially I did try do a Backup using Titanium Backup app, first try I think there wasn't enough room on the internal HDD, so I tried on the external HDD which I thought had done so.. So when I came to this problem, the backup did not work.
Now at first before I rooted the phone. It was done by odin v1.85 and of course it did root. So I know it has superSU, but I can't get onto a stock rom for this phone because of my **** sat internet bandwidth and also a good site to download from. I tried the samsung-update site, but the 2 links don't allow me to finish the download. Do you know of any links that i can download the stock rom for my i9305T my phone was running android v4.3. The link I just stated was for v4.3.
Can you give me some advise on how or what I should do?

Wayne

I'm not sure if you can downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2 or earlier. If the phone was running 4.3 then I'd install 4.3 or 4.4 to get stock recovery back. Then you can install a custom recovery. No need to root your phone for that.
Do you know a link that will take me to a compatible file for my GT-i9305T, I'm just not sure what to look out for. Also would you be able to give me a quick rundown/instructions on how to do this. Will I need odin, and which version will I need. Currently I have v1.85, that's what I used to start off. I really don't wanna brick this phone.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ck-rom-4-4-4-gt-i9305n-i9305nxxufni4-t2886807
there you'll find the Kitkat DBT for i9305. Will work with your phone as well. In the OP you'll find instruction on how to install this version via odin. Odin is included in the zip.
After that you put your phone into download mode again and flash the preferred recovery via odin. But don't use TWRP 2.8.7.0 from their site. That build is broken and is getting fixed atm. Either use TWRP 2.8.5.0 or latest Philz Touch. If you decide to flash a custom ROM again, make sure you're in the right forum, e.g. i9305
Thanks heaps for your help so far maultasche, I will let you know how I go with this.
Cheers,
Wayne

From backup I actually meant if you had cwm and you did a nandroid backup of the stock rom from the recovery itself.
If you are getting bootloop you can easily fix it by restoring the backup.
Search on the net about recovery from soft brick and bootloops.
Nandroid backups can atleast get your device in running condition.
If you have custom recovery backup your rom first then you can flash any desired rom.
One more thing if you had flashed custom rom do not factory reset your device, this may result in soft brick.
Hope that helps!
Is your device booting now??

Yes, I successfully got the phone to boot up and run. I used the I9305XXUFNI3_I9305DBTFNI3_I9305XXUFNI3_HOME.tar file using the odin v3.09 and now it has asked the country and so on..
It was a bit daunting thinking if it was going to brick or fix the phone...
Thanks for your help, time and kindness for the files you gave me.
The next couple of days I will try attempt install Cyanogenmod 11. Will I need to use odin to install the recovery image, just like I did for the I9305XXUFNI3_HOME.tar file?

You're welcome, glad it did help.
Yes, you need odin to flash the recovery again. No need to root your phone just to install the recovery, as mentioned. Then you can flash whatever ROM you'd like. One thing - although CM 11 still gets nightlies from time to time there is no maintainer left. He switched devices. If you encounter any issues which might be device related they probably won't get fixed.
Is sending pics on pc still an issue? Sorry, I wasn't online and I forgot to check the thread :/
HI Maultasche, so I have been looking at the" Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.6" rom and have been downloading the files for it, but i am not sure what the "changelog" file is for or what it does. The page - forum . xda-developers.com / galaxy-s3 / development-i9305 / rom-resurrection-remix-4-4-2-kitkat-v5-t2704828 . It tells me I need these Installation Files:- ROM , Gapps & Changelog. Do you know if i can install this Rom using
CWM v6.0.4.7?
Oh, and about the send pic question, I wanted to send you a pic of the odin mode screen from my phone, but the only thing I could see was the "insert image" button. But it wanted me to enter a URL for the picture. Whats the go there?
Regards,
Wayne

The change log file only shows what has been fixed and what has changed to previous builds. Nothing you need for the ROM
You only need the ROM, gapps and the recovery. Use the recovery rodman has mentioned in his post.
Insert image button? Via Tapatalk? Don't know what you mean to be honest.
Me Again, just above this message box there is the insert image icon. Doh... So now I have spotted the Paperclip icon above and now feel a **** for asking how to send a picture.. Sorry.
So again I thank you for your help, it is much appreciated.

Why won't my phone show up on Odin?
For what? Install lastest Samsung drivers and make sure Kies is not running
Need to install a ROM without a PC
Hi maultasche, Can you help me with this, I have my wife's phone which is a S3 i9305 as well. The USB connection on the phone has been damaged and so the cable can't be connected. I was wondering if I could still install the ROM without the use of a PC. Can you tell me the best software I could do this with? Also I am not sure the best way to back up the phone, not wanting to root it.
Regards,
Wayne
hi,
what ROM youre talking about? Official firmware? If you have a flashable zip yo could do that with flashfire, flashify, rashr etc. Or via custom recovery. For a custom recovery is no root needed.
As for backups depending on what you want to backup (whole system including data etc. or just apps with apps data). Without root your backup options are kind of limited. You can backup apps and app data via helium but not every app can be backed up using this tool. You could do a back up via adb but not sure how complete such a backup will be. I never did that. Or a backup with a custom recovery again. Might be the easiest way.
