Testing. So far every 4.3 ROM had power issues draining loads of power over night. Hoping this one doesn't.
The ROM itself looks good. Tablet UI is available and fully customizable. Really nice and quick.

Did you look whether certain apps cause the power drain?
Did you try Greenify to eliminate power drain in standby?

I did check for apps draining yes. I have yet to try greenify though.
I will try and check over the next night how much power drain i'll get.
Again: This was not with this ROM. Might be all good.

new build up
camera fixed

Been using the 4.2.2 version of the ROM and I must commend you. Brilliant work, I don't have the time to test the
4.3 alpha builds because I'm using my tablet for school work so I need something stable. Keep up the good work
Sent from my Venom Infected One X

Awesome! Running without many major hitches so far on my WiFi Tab Z No GPS at this point though?
Also, camera doesn't seem to work. Gives cannot connect error.

Something is not right with my battery usage i think. This is a clean install. I installed greenify to see if it helps but it doesn't:
Seems an awful lot of battery usage for android system.

Mine could do that. I loose about 1% per hour if the tablet is not used.
I did use it to watch tv and browse the web.
It's just strange that that most of the energy went to android system. Usually most juice is used up by the display is it not?
If this ain't normal i willwipe everything again completely and reinstall.

Man, you most probably simply have some synchronization or messaging app or background service running which drains the battery.
Install, for instance, "Wakelock Detector" and find out what is consuming battery in standby. Then either deactivate / uninstall it or use Greenify to tame it.
It's definitely NOT "simply Android going nuts" which sucks the battery empty.

I'll check out wakelock detector. Thanks.
Edit: Installed the app and watched overnight. There is no app active. The tablet is never in deepsleep though. Shouldn't it go into deepsleep?

Can't seem to boot into recovery with this ROM. LED goes yellow and the screen stays blank after the AOKP logo. Tried using the advanced power menu to get to recovery and tried pressing Volume UP while the LED is purple also but they both lead to that blank screen with yellow LED. Device still boots normally after a hard reset.
Any suggestions?

When I click on download filename, it just downloads a 26kb "zip link"
---------- Post added at 11:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 PM ----------
Sorry - looks like it's a setting or problem with my AOSP browser. Just clicked on the link on my PC and it takes me to the download host site.:silly:
(had to do this as a post - XDA post editing seems to be broken tonight

On Android devices, Firefox is the only browser which can handle all download links properly. Next time try it.

I am having an issue. Whenever I select "Device options" from settings, Settings crashes.
Also, how active is development on this? The last nightly was a few days ago, but the one before that almost a month earlier?
edit: I take it back - a new nightly was just posted!

about to install this ROM on my tablet. anything I should be aware of (e.g. known bugs/etc)? thanks

new official nightly out (4.3.1)
consider that release candidate before we have miletsone for 4.3.1
report bugs on bugs.aokp.co if found any.
thanks

Just installed and using now.
Noted a gallery force close upon first boot. Also gallery3d failed, not sure if that's expected due to camera not working. Gallery is working fine though.
I tried to exit the settings and got a force close message from setup wizard. I have a screenshot, and then noticed the wallpaper changed back to default after having changed it. It has just happened the once.
I made a phone call and sound was working ok (just a quick call).
First time using aokp, but I'm impressed so I'll use it for longer and let you know of any bugs I come across
Many thanks,
Lunar.

Hello champ,
I was using my dock when i went to sleep last night, having the phone charge whilst using the night mode clock. I woke up a couple of hours later and the phone turned itself off at some point. The charge light was on but it hadn't charged at all.
A moment ago after using the phone to check Facebook and Twitter, it was left alone with the screen off, and it managed to switch itself off. No reboot, just off.
I have not adjusted the performance settings at all.
Cheers,
Lunar.

Hello,
I've reinstalled the rom last night to give it another go and try and catch a logcat (will be the first time, I presume adb logcat -v long is the best technique).
I haven't had the same problem yet, only watching video which I guess is expected.
I'll keep it running for a while, seems very nice.
[Edit] trying to use the swag wallpapers, a lot of them aren't loading up, is that a common problem? Would a logcat help?
Cheers,
Lunar.

So...
My Impressions are:
-Unstable (Reboots with Screen On and Off)
-All System Sounds And Music let freez the ROM
-Battery drain is very extrem (No Changes in Performance Control)
-Many stuff is buggy (Swag Wallpaper,Ui Settings ect.)
So not a daily driver for me... back to stock Wait for FXP214 Release with fixed Sound (In Call,Music Audio,Loudness on Speaker ect.)
Next release of KXP with fxp214?
And another request... Can u change the Startlogo (FXP->KXP)? Would to give me more AOKP feeling )
Thanks for all Champ :good:

Great to hear! Can you try some heavy games, see if they freeze like in the CM version?
I do not play games so wont be able to test that... But so far the rom works better and more stable then the latest cm release is. Have installed about 20 apps so far and none of them caused any crash or freeze. "so far..." Wifi works as it should, will try bluetooth tomorrow at work. I stream music trough BT all day so I will know how it works after that.

First my thanks for your hard work.
My fone has been on tilals cm10.2 and TWRP.
First time I flashed your rom I only wiped cache, but the fone didn't start up to home screen.
I could see the unicorn first, then the colored x. After 5 minutes I did a cold start.
Now I flashed twice, after first flash I full wiped than flashed again.
But now I again see the colored x for 10 minutes at this moment.
I will go back to tilals cm10.2.
Thanks

Thanks for your answer! I was mostly interested in battery life, because the superfast drain that occured in CM 10.2 was the reason I went back to 4.2.2.
Flashed and it started off good, But not long in to using the rom i had a Blue screen, also couldnt download from the play store, it just hangs when you press install.

Works perfect so far. No reboots, no blue screen, no lag at all! Can't tell about battery life so far, but awesome build! Thanks Championswimmer!
Can those of you testing the ROM post your battery life results in like a day or two? I'm curious to see how different this is from tilal's CM 10.2 builds in terms of battery life.

I tried making a fresh install, but I was overwhelmed by the amount of settings, and since I wanted the phone to be ready as I was leaving home in a while, I restored my cwm backup.
I'll wait to hear about the battery life from other users and try again in a couple of days!

Runing now, my fault was to restore data from recovery.
All works well, battery drain seems less then cm10.2.
I miss profiles a bit.
Will test the rom a bit longer.

does this support tablet ui change from the settings?
No pollux_windy files at the moment- link goes nowhere
initial builds are like AOSP. no custom options or features. enjoy clean vanilla android
May I ask where are the files? The goo.im link is dead at least for the Wi-Fi version. Thanks
Is there a problem with the windy version? Seems only Pollux is getting KitKat loving

i dont have a windy
i'll put up a build or two for testing for windy tomorrow
if everything is ok, i'll add that to official nightlies
I'll test. thanks
ps. we've had builds windy in the past too and you're also the maintainer?
@championswimmer where can one follow the real time progress of the rom. AOKP is what CM used to be and it's my preference and opinion.
Thank you for maintaining this device

pollux_windy build updated
please test and i will enable official nightlies then
Hi, I just tried the latest nightly for Pollux Windy, coming from cm11, I wiped everything and installed the rom and Bank's Core gapps for 4.4.2, after the initial setup a popup kept informing me that launcher 3 had stopped. Could this be because I should have used a more complete gapps package? Fortunately I got to go on Play store and download Nova, my preferred launcher and all is well! I use core gapps as that's all I need, should launcher 3 come with gapps or rom?
Tapatalked that shiznit.
Same here no matter the gapps pack, i tried 3 different ones.
Also as Vanir rom, when its in portrait no problem but in landscape, back key is calling google searchbar. I mean its like when u tap in search bar: keyboard popup and u cant get out from there...just by tapping home key
Sorry i needed tab so i flashed back cm, will provide logcat later...

If you would like to use TWRP Recovery with this ROM, you can use this app to install it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mer.twrpxperia
Also, this app allows you to come back to CWM if you don't like it. This app works on all custom ROMs (that have FXP-based kernel) and allows installation of TWRP to FOTAKernel partition.
Just flashed the latest windy nightly, and it softbricked.... The tablet won't even really even turn on for recovery. Thankfully, I have access to flashmode still.... I'll report back... If you are thinking of flashing this rom, make sure you know what you are doing...
*EDIT* Running stock 4.3.... I'm not very knowledgeable, but it seems like at least the 02, 25 nightly perhaps has a bad boot image...
NFC bug
Hey there,
first of all: Great rom! working fine overall. :good: Just one thing thats bothering me. NFC is always on and can't be turned off. Even tried to uninstall it using recovery exploit with Titanium Backup with no success...
I'm on the latest pollux nightly btw. Any suggestions how to get this solved? It really eats up the battery...
Did not find really much about it on the web. Just that this bug seems to be pretty common with cm11?
Edit: Don't know if anybody else has this problem... Just in case: I finally managed to solve the problem by unchecking NFC in options and then rebooting the device right from that options screen. After reboot NFC is successfully turned off.

Install Greenify app - then you can set nfc to hibernate when not in use.
This ROM is actually quite good. ART is working fine with this one.
The typical bluetooth bug is in this one too though.
There is also no double tap to wake.
Would be nice if the maintainer adds that into this rom if anyone is still reading this.
Latest nightly lags very badly. System reboots constantly... Unusable...
Flashed with full wipes

Would you build for jflteusc...dying to try the out!!!
About four or five reboots immediately after apps installed but nothing since. Looks like a great ROM. Fast and smooth so far.
Update: Random reboots. They seem to happen when I receive a notification on my lockscreen when the screen is off. Any suggestions for a kernel? JFLTESPR
Looking forward to giving this a try.

We'll build s4 usc variant later today.
Whoha there are a heck of customizations backed in .
I can't say mutch about battery life, because right now i have no apps installed (For only the naked rom, the battery life is very good. I had some 5.x.x roms they they drained the battery even i had no apps installed) .
I had some small issues:
-Pie won't show (Maybe i did the wrong adjustments)
-When I have navigation bar on and have a menu-button in it, it disappears after I close the settings. It only shows the dotted menu icon/button on the right
(Can you maybe fix this:fingers-crossed:? I like to have my navigation bar like the hardwarebuttons, but i dont like the hardwarebuttons)
-And this screencolor bug from cm is present (like on ervery other rom, i hope they fix this soon) //adaptive brightness was on
A big plus for the navigation bar customization (better as this crap from cm)
F2FS compatible? Also do you guys build with any tool chains or flags?
Data and cache are good with being f2fs...don't know about system
Tested the jfltevzw version on my jflteusc and everything worked fine...I just didn't have call or text due to the ril file being different between the 2 phones
Sounds like fun, I'll run it on my Sprint S4 in a moment!
For the Sprint users out there, and maybe others, I was getting reboots when I received notifications on my lockscreen with my screen off. I flashed the Alucard kernel (v1.1a) in the I9505 thread and everything seems to be working fine. Awesome ROM! I also lost the green tint!
Hmm, everything seems to be going well on my end. The only issue I've run into is the V4A doesn't seem to like my phone. It will FC on the first open and then it gives me an Abnormal Status and Unsupported Audio Format. I tried uninstalling and installing every driver (and rebooting) and had no success. Finally, I gave up and used the System App Unistaller built in and rebooted to see...it didn't uninstall the app. I tried using an app for the unistall, it succeeded, and after rebooting I installed V4A apk but that also had given me the same results. The sound I do get is a bit tiny and distorted. Outside of the V4A issue this is an amazingly smooth ROM with an impressive amount of baked in features.
