How easy to scratch - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I read online that the body scratches quite easily but the reviews weren't with retail models. I've now got a case for mine but it really detracts from the sleek, chunk of glass that my phone was.
Can anyone confirm the scratch-proofness of it or how the Z was?

Samsung Galaxy S Advance

I'm brazilian and they are charging R$ 540,00, more less U$ 270,00....
Im pretty sure the "glass" you're talking about is a unit with the lcd.... you cant change it separately. And yes, it's by far the most expensive part on a phone nowadays.

Are you sure this device has gorilla glass? Btw it's just a single piece, I recommend you to buy a bricked i9070 and replace the motherboard from your device to the bricked device, (easiest than replacing lcd), or you can replace the lcd (maybe from i9070P too) it's the cheapest solution for you

I am sure.. Gorilla glass behaves different.. It's kind of bouncy when you tap with your fingernails or use a pen.. Same feedback from s2 and ace.. I think it's possible to replace only the protective glass
.. Unless the lcd and protective glass are fused (like in s2)

Yes, I heard about that our brazilian SII don't have Gorilla Glass, btw I'm sure that GSA doesn't have it too. I'll keep my phone until it get unusable or maybe I'll give it to my mother and buy another one!
After watching some videos on youtube, and find this front glass replacement at ebay Screen replacement... I would like to know if I could do the same thing to replace my GSA's front glass?!
first of all, it seems that's much more difficult to replace broken glass on such a device than just replace a lcd in a simple phone like nokia e51 or anything like that. according to some guy in another forum, at home you'd never be able to replace glass only in a device like galaxy s/s2 or s3 - it's told to be some kind of gel between the glass and the digitizer that you'll never be able to put it back together to make it look and work like brand new - even on successful tearing apart the old parts and putting them together to work, you'd still have some odd dull sound of empty space when tapping the screen IF YOU SUCCEED, but I repeat it's not obvious - guess why s or s2 with broken glass are so cheap? yeah, got it - it's really not easy to do it by yourselves.
btw. don't spread rumours about the brazilian i9070 to be deprived of gorilla glass - i9070 doesn't have gg, nowhere in the world. samsung sites were displaying this information some time ago but they seem to remove it - they no longer boast of gg in i9070
I had an LG Optimus 2X P990 with GG, and I replaced the glass by myself that time. It was was pretty easy.

Gorilla Glass 2 - Scratches

Hi!
I own my N4 for about 3 months now and yesterday I suddenly found some fine scratches on my display glass! I've had my HTC Desire (Gorilla Glass 1) for 3 years without any damn scratch! So I am asking myself if the old Gorilla Glass was better than the new one?! Well i've never used any case but I handle my phones carefully all the time and never put something else like e.g. keys in the same pocket.. Could this be a warranty case?

i only found threads about breaking / cracking glass, not about scratches..
but if you say there are some, i'm deeply sorry and will try to find them harder
You're pockets aren't as clean as you think they are.
And no, it's not a valid warranty claim.
And yes, I do have one faint scratch on mine.

Willing to trade white UAG for..

Would like dba ultra case, or maybe the aluminum bumper.
Anyways, if anyone is interested in swapping, my UAG case has only been on the phone for about 3 days before my black car showed up.
I can post pictures if you want, but it looks just like every other white UAG case.

I bought it from ebay. I can't find the seller, below is a link to another one, I paid the same amount.
I did test it out, it did not scratch my phone, even with the screen protector on.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-ALUMI...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item460a86cfde
I also had a similar but cheaper bumper before, that one does not have the cut out for the power button and volume rocker, it's also thicker in size. No problem with that one either.

I am not sure since this one is thinner, but I can check it out later when I go home.
I don't really care about that because I used aftermarket backs with the bumper. These backs are usually a little thicker so they protect the lens even if you set it flat.
I live near DC.

ok, so i have misplaced one of the little decorative cards that comes with the UAG case, and the screen protector (which was lame anyway) is no longer usable. Do you still wish to swap cases with me? PM me your address if you do.

Because you can pretty much scratch it with your fingernail. It scuffs and scratches way too easily, unlike the glass it's "protecting"

Anything to remove scratches?

Got some light scratches on the front glass before I got a chance to apply a screen protector. Is there any liquid solution available that can minimize the scratches on the screen of my z1
