Confirmed Working USB cables - G2 Accessories

All,
Just wanted to post this up since we have been having trouble with chagrining on our phone. I resonantly ordered 4 cables off amazon, all are confirmed working.
Here they are post up all your working UBS cables. Remember the charger needs to be at least 1.8amp. I suggest a charger capable of at least 2.0amp for best results with different cables.
OK so they problem I was having was that it would show charging but would not actually be charging. After being plugged in all night the phone said 80% charge. Restart the phone and it says 100%. Not sure what the deal is but a simple restart solves it.

To be clear: these allow "fast charging" with the supplied charger? I'm on the VZW, but it should be the same across devices, right?

Yes they support fast charge with the supplied charger.

Best buy has rocket fish changers that are 2.1amp. They work I bought one today. I bought a car charger that said 2.1 amp by rocket fish and it works perfect to (using a logitech mouse charging USB cable so I don't think the cable matters)

15 foot cable with fast charging ability?
I have a long run in my car to route the usb cable from the cigarette lighter up and around the dash to the phone's mounting location. I need a 15 foot cable. Unfortunately I could not find one of these brands in that length. Any confirmed cables of this length that will allow for fast charging?

Just out of curiosity... Example how long should it take to charge?

Got the schoshe (sp?) car charger from Amazon and 2 mediabridge cables. Unfortunately, this combo also generates the slow charge notice. I was hoping to find anything that gives fast charge, but they seem to be hard to find.
I need more than one charger (for in the car and on travel). Guess I have to send them back and try again.

So are the mediabridge and amazon questions out of the picture as well?

I can confirm the Amazon and Blue rigger cables do not work. The blue rigger do slow charge and Amazon says it is not compatible with the phone to charge....
anyone has found cables that work?

I have a Nexus 7 that came with an Asus charger and accompanying cable. This works with proper charging on my VZW LG G2(non slow).
I have also found a way to have charging (non slow) in my car using Ibolt Xpro dock. You cannot use the cable that they send you however. I have a VZW official car charger and plugged into the usb port on that is the usb cable that came with the LG G2 phone and voila it works. How is that for confusing. I would love to be able to find other usb cables that work though.

I have the Mediabridge cable in the 3ft. length and it charges just fine with my stock charger as well as my 2.1A car charger.

My Nexus is from 2012. The usb charging adapter reads model: ad83531

I'll have this back up soon. I figured it out. Phone would say 80% after charging all night. But after I restart the phone or says 100. Sorry for the delay I have been traveling.

Amazon item number - B008TYKEWS
In the meantime I have ordered the 3ft mediabridge in hopes that it will work.

charger problems

so i went onto ebay and bought a official OEM droid 4 usb cable and AC adapter and for some reason the AC adapters dont work but the usb cord is just fine
the AC adapter i got was a SPN5504 which has a input of 100-240V 50/60hz and 0.2A and output of 5.1V at 850mA
is this not the charger that came with the droid 4? it will not charge at all in the wall but when i plug the usb cord into a samsung wall adapter it works fine
Pretty much any USB charger should work. Sounds to me like you got a dud...
Agreed, dud. Some are better than others, I get all mine off of ebay, so I have a bumch around the house. The cheaper the more likely its crap, but at .99 I can't argue. So I order 4-5 and I might get a bad one.

Clicked thanks on accident lol. Any USB car charger should work, but I would make sure you grap a 1 amp one just so it has enough output to charge the tablet at a decent rate.
probably better with a 2amp one. samsung makes one for the tab2, about $12 on amazon, and just use your own microusb cable to connect to it.

Yup, go with a 2Amp one. Most of the cigarette lighter usb chargers are 2.1A.
Avoid the cheap Chinese 2+Amp car chargers, they can be so badly made they cause enough interference to wipe out your FM radio.
/edit 1Amp will be fine but don't go lower, the N7 would likely burn it out.
FYI I tried a 5v 1a wall charger and my gnex7 said f u wouldn't take the charge. 2a or nothing I say

Do you already have the Nexus 7? If so, can you take a look at the charger and see if rated at 1A output and/or try to charge it with a charger that came with your phone?
I am just curious if it can actually charge with less than 2A. The charger listed in the Play Store outputs 2Amps and I thought most tablets require 2A to charge.

Still waiting, should only be a couple of days now though...
I know this is something most people never do...but if you read the manual for the Nexus 7 it says you can charge it on a standard USB port with the Nexus 7 in sleep mode (no doubt because the power draw is much less). Standard USB ports are typically .5A...sometimes less. I would say that's the actual minimum. For the fastest charging 2A is what you want though.
The ASUS charger that comes with the N7 is rated at 2A (10W). I tested an old BlackBerry 0.85A (~4W) micoUSB charger and it seemed to work fine and the N7 didn't complain though I didn't do any scientific tests against the charging rates.
The 0.5A (2.5W) chargers probably won't even charge the unit if you're actively using it.
Cheers,
Kermee

Yeah...read my previous post...the manual says you can charge on a standard usb port (0.5A sometimes less) but only if the Nexus 7 is in sleep mode...ie you're not actively using it. If you can't charge it while connected to USB and it's in the sleep state...then your usb port is probably a low power USB port (<0.5A).
For those looking for a good backup battery charger for it...I recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGKR54/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
works perfectly with my Nexus 7 (just make sure to use the correct USB out port on it as only one of them is 2A)
DealExtreme Charger
Saw this one on DealExtreme, even come with cable:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/car-ci...-port-for-google-nexus-7-tablet-146751?item=8
Will be ordering will update when arrives. Also they're carrying Nexus 7 Cables in Pink, Green and Orange.
Was using a Sprint micro-USB plus charger (model PVX8823) with attached cable and standard USB port for 2nd device that I was using for my phone. Output is 0.65Amp which isn't sufficient and will slowly drain the N7 battery while in use. ~$35 at Sprint retail store. Wouldn't recommend for obvious reason.
Fortunately, had a spare Motorola SPN5400A 1Amp I bought with some screen protectors from Amazon because it was cheap like ~$5. 1Amp is sufficiently to maintain the charge while in use at near worse case running 3D games like Dead Trigger, Shadowngun, etc. So, 1Amp is minimum threshold.
You need a charger that:
1) Is capable of 2A (1.5A may be sufficient, 1A is a little too low)
2) Shorts D+ and D- together - This rules out most iPad chargers.
If it says it is made for iPod/iPad it will not work without modifications or adapters.
Samsung tablet chargers will work.
If you take an iPad charger, open it up, and short D+ and D- together, it will work.

Most chargers for android phones will work. I use my HTC charger for ,mine and I bought a car charge that has the standard micro USB connector but also has another USB port so I can charge 2 devices at the same time with 1 charging unit. You droid razor charger will work just fine. You just need to locate a charger that is capable of charging 2 devices at the same time such as this one

Check out this oem charger from Sprint. Its a dual port charger with a 2a output and you dont have to worry about buying a knock off charger that may or may not perform as expected. It also can be used as a wall charger. Good price too....

So are any of these confirmed 100% to work? the one a few links back (GTMax) says works with iphone, and I thougth that meant would NOT work with N7. So I am confused on what will work, and I am already on my 2nd Nexus7 being I blew out the USB trying a bunch of differnt chargers for the car.
I would like something that is small and can have multiple USB plugged in, but not a show stopper, just hope to find something on Amazon (Prefer Prime) so I can oder with my case today. Really want to use this in the car more (GPS\GoogleMusic..ect.), but with no power not a great option.
Thanks in Advance,

2A Charger Please

I have read countless threads and looked at many chargers and I just can't seem to find a 2a car and a 2a home charger. I just ordered this charger and this cable and it just doesn't work above 700ma. When I use the stock cable I get to 1300mah for a sec and then about 900 steady. This is on both ports. Someone please help me before I lose it! The only one that works at 1500mah is the cable and charger that came with my phone.
Charger
Cable
Thanks in advance.
Well, I can say from repeated certainty that this 6' cable charges at the same rate as the stock cable but is actually nice.

Also, my Qmadix car charger with dual 2.1A ports does very near stock AC levels when charging 1 device. My results are in the mega 2A car charger thread, but that's a spendy charger.

I'm also looking for 2A replacement... How's the charging time compare to the stock Note 2 charger?
how do you measure the output while the device is charging? Is there an app to test how much juice is coming in real time?
I use a 2A HP Touchpad charger in my living room and a T-Mobile branded 3A dual USB charger in my bedroom (see links below). The T-Mobile charger charges my Note2 from 9% to 100% in less than 2 hours when I only use 1 of the USB ports. I'm not sure what the rate is when both ports are used. I've had this for a couple years and use it to charge (individually and simultaneously) my phones and tablets without any problem.

That's because the iPad charger doesn't have the data pins shorted out to enable fastcharge . Easiest way to accomplish fastcharge with your charger, is to buy a charging cable (data pins shorted out, so it is not a data cable:
http://dx.com/p/usb-male-to-lengthe...for-samsung-i9500-9300-htc-white-100cm-207353
It even has the lengthened micro usb connector the Nexus 7 needs.
Or maybe better, buy this one, found in another thread here on XDA, this one is confirmed to work in fastcharge mode with any usb charger:

Yes I know, and that's the reason the iPad charger won't work on fastcharge.
You need to either shortout the data pins of the iPad charger, or use a charger cable with shorted data pins ( a so called charge-only micro usb cable) to make the iPad charger use full capacity (fastcharge mode). There are also cable adaptors for sale that will shortout the data pins for you.

No iDevice (iPhone/iPad) charger will fastcharge an android phone or tablet without modifying the datapins or use a charge-only cable / adaptor.
The Blackberry Playbook charger is known to work
Get an HP touchpad charger if you can. I can provide empirical evidence that it will actually charge your n7 20 minutes faster than the stock charger. I posted a thread about it here some time ago. "Best aftermarket charger ..." Or something like that.
Plus, my HP touchpad charger hasn't failed to work with whatever device I've plugged into it - idevice or android.

I will suggest the HP touchpad charger for use with the N7... they work great and produce no noticeable heat when not connected... shows good efficiency.:good:
Check Ebay -= just did a quick search and got 131 hits anywhere from 8-20 USD. I"ve bought 2... one is firmly set to be my preferred travel charger for any USB device.
+1 Re: HP Touchpad charger
Someone did a in depth look at factory and aftermarket chargers and it came out way better in terms of current provided and cleanliness of power without spikes or dropouts.

Do I still need a aftermarket cable w/ the data pins shorted out? Or will this all in one package: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-HP-North-American-Power-Charger-FB341AA-AB-for-TouchPad-Cable-/251250614212?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Do the trick?

That will do the trick - but you don't need another cable if you already have one.
I went with the charger without cable option and got 2 chargers for less than that price. Just have eBay sort the search results by price+shipping and optionally USA sellers only to find a better price without waiting for a slow boat from China.

Will using chargers not putting out the proper amperage cause any hard ware issues? Just curious.
Thanks

If the charger puts out less than the tablet needs then it will just charge slower (or not at all if it's really low) and if it puts out more than the maximum the tablet uses the extra will just go unused. Voltage is a different issue.

Having your device plugged into a USB 2 500mA computer port obviously charges slower then a 2000mA wall charger. It would be pretty faulty design if plugging your device into your computer would cause hardware damage.
Man, this really sucks, the Monoprice cable mentioned earlier in this thread is having the same issue I had with another micro USB cable, it doesn't seem to fit into the Nexus 7 snugly, it doesn't seem to go in all the way. (I hope I don't have a busted charging port), It doesn't seem to charge it at all, even with the stock Nexus AC adapter. I'm about to break down and buy the official Google charger again, even if all I need is a new micro USB cable.
I'm using 2 different monoprice cables, one in my car and one at home, and both fit well. Sounds like the port has gotten damaged.

So, I just decided to buy a whole new charger off Amazon. If that won't work and I determine that the micro USB port is busted, I'm not going to be very happy, haha. does anyone know if Google repairs them for a fee?
I use a Playstation Vita charger which seems to charge my N7 very fast. On the other hand, I've tried an old mobile charger also and the battery level goes down whilst plugged into it.
If under warranty and purchased from the PlayStore, yes, otherwise, if under warranty, ASUS.

USB Charging cables for G Flex?

Anyone find any good USB charging cables for their G Flex?
I've ordered and tried like over 15 now and none really work like the OEM USB cable... either they give me a slow charger, they fall out of the phone's USB connector, or they won't charge at all.
I've tried like different ones from Monoprice, Fosmon ones, and 2 different ones form BB.
I know its the cables because when I use my OEM LG cable with an old HTC charger it works just fine.
I ordered this 6ft BB Playbook charger over the weekend: http://www.amazon.com/Blackberry-Folding-Blade-Charger-Playbook/dp/B004OZMWUS/ because I've heard people having good results with it. I'll post a review when I get it. Fingers crossed.
sure
Hi
I can only recommend this special low-resistance charging cable from PortaPow.
portablepowersupplies.co.uk/portapow-fast-charge-micro-usb-cable
Please check out this cable here
I got one of the 2.5 meters version and the charging speed is still awesome with this cable! Its perfect for the bedroom.
Greetings
You can buy lg oem usb cable on Amazon. Try search for the cable under different lg phone model. I bought a few pairs for $ 3 each. It don't have necessary said for flex since many other lg phone use the same type of cable.

I give the BB Playbook Blade charger a C+ for charing the G Flex but a A+ for charging any other Android device.
It charges the G Flex really super fast... prob the fastest out of all the chargers I've tried from what Battery Monitor Widget tells me BUT like all the other USB cables I've tried the connection isn't secure and iif I move or even just do the knock-knock code the cable slips out of the socket.
I did order 2 more off eBay for charging my other android devices... the 6+ ft cord is really useful. Just wish it would fit the G Flex micro USB socket.

I think this might be the best route because I haven't found 1 USB cable out of 20+ test that will stay in the socket when the phone is moved.

I've always just purchased htc oem cables... since I had my EVO, then with my Galaxy Note II, and now with my Flex...
These work great and fit snug. Best cables I ever bought.

It's $11 because it's 10 feet long and braided.
Do U use Mac or PC?
I have the same issue, I got a 750mA charger from a Nokia and it charges faster then my 2.1amp oem Samsung charger. I have had a really hard time finding a good cable that works with this phone. I lost my OEM LG Charger, I think it's time to buy one again.
Try charge only cables. Worked for me..
I use blackberry cables. Very high quality, and have never had issues.
ROGERS • LG G Flex D950G • Stock ROOT 4.4.2 • V4A • 180DPI • FLEXIN'
The samsung chargers work pretty well too. Sometimes i get a slow charge when im plugged into like a power brick, and not plugged directly into the wall outlet.
Know it's weird but next plug into a brick or strip an get the slow charging flip the adapter around in the socket
my problem is similar
Ive tried multiple cables, but in the car, it will always give me a slow charge (around half a amp, when i think it should be 1.8)
so bacsically i can get no rapid charge while in the car
Again, ive tried multiple cables and multiple chargers. even 2 that were supposed to figure out the max input of the flex, and use that to charge it rapidly. but i ALWAYS get slow charge
the only time I dont is when I plug it into a standard wall charger,it will rapid charge then
what car chargers have yall used that will NOT give you the slow charge?
please help. Ive spent $80 in trying
