This pretty much goes against other rumours where they were going to merge the Butterfly and One into
Be happy you're owning perhaps the last HTC phone with 3 buttons and Beats Audio. Unless this successor has 3 buttons but I don't think it will, most of HTC's phones this year are only 2 buttons except HTC First, Desire L, Desire 200 and Butterfly s.

I'm happy with what I have atm. I am aware that future phones may come without beats and feature only two buttons.

same, I think 1080p screen and stereo speakers, for me it doesn't need to get any better than that

The MicroSD slot is good for the 1080p screen too. Can store HD videos comfortably. The phone would have been even better if it retained the waterproof capabilities of it's predecessor and if it sported a SOC 800 but it's good nonetheless.

no, what i meant is there wer rumours that the two lines will be merged as one next year. No more Butterfly probably and instead just one distinctive flagship.
The other thing that makes no sense is Snapdragon 800. Current rumours are that One Max won't get 800 for many reasons (such as HTC struggling and being unable to afford it, or Qualcomm themselves not letting HTC have it because it is to much a financial risk)

That's just rumors. I don't think that such phone will be released at least within half a year. HTC has problems with ordering Snap 800 for the current devices and most of vendors have already got their prerogative in using these chips.

well, i would not mind a 5.2" screen and snapdragon 800, i understand this Butterfly II will arrive early next year
http://www.talkandroid.com/177162-htc-butterfly-2-front-panels-leak/
http://www.androidauthority.com/rum...terproof-capabilities-multiple-colors-278346/
hope it also has a 3000mah battery tho

i think we should just be contented with our butterfly s, the new models are gonna be pretty much flowing out all the time..
my only gripe with butterfly s is the snapdragon 600 =S

oh i'm very happy with my Butterfly S, not looking to replace it very soon
my previous phone was a Razr Maxx HD, so this is quite a beast in comparison
i'm gonna (try to) wait till after summer next year for a next phone
by that time we'll know everything thats to know about KitKat and there probably will be plenty phones released with 4.4 pre-installed

Disappointment

XDA's vote for the best smartphone of 2011 is here! Sadly, the Incredible S wasn't in the list, nor any other single-core phones which came out this year.
Is any one else disappointed in this?
Of course, dual-core phones have more raw power under the hood, but does it really make them that much better? Physical build quality is an important aspect to take into consideration as well. Furthermore, as far as the single-core phones go, I personally believe that the Incredible S deserves some merit as one of (if not the) best.

My phone is better than any damn single core phone out there....hell I would even dare to say that this is the best single core phone HTC ever built(android of course )

Don't you mean it's better than any dual core phones?

I'm happy with the phone I have, but to be honest I wouldn't rate it as phone of the year. There have been too many newer, faster phones since which have all its features and more.
Incredible S is a very good phone, much underrated

Underrated is the right word. It's a shame because of the timing of its release it got drowned by the media with HTC's own Sensation...

Why do you care about these polls. Just be happy with your phone and that's it. IncS is a great phone!

and sometimes misleading.
have you ever considered how many people actually vote and what percentage of people are voting for a phone they already have while other phone owners dont even vote.
i never rely on polls.
eyah.. really disappointment/
I am happy with my inc s but i'd swap it instantly for a sensation xe
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Incredible S is the best single core phone HTC has ever made. I wouldn't expect the Incredible S to beat out a dual core phone for phone of the year. If there was a poll for the best single core phone the winner will either be the Incredible S or Nexus S. Devs on Xda love the Nexus S.

Selling my phone

Hey guys, I decided that I am going to sell my phone 6 months before my contract ends and get something better.
Since this is only for 6 months, I can't decide between One X and S3, I know S3 is better as a phone but One X is so much nicer and as I said since this is only for these 6 months I don't know what to do.
Which one would you pick?

Thanks guys, phone is on ebay for sale now. Hopefully it will sell and I will get my hands on One X later this week!
SXL is now sold and One X ordered. It's such a shame that I had to switch from this great phone, but lack of developers is that pulled me to the One X side. I'll stay active here and I'll try to get those lazy One X developers to come and do some SXL roms!

[Q] HTC One +?

So do we think that HTC will bring out a 64gb version later in the year. As they did with the One x?
I'm tempted by the black but have a feeling that their waiting till every ones been sucked by the 32gb & then bring a + version out with 64gb.
What do you think
64GB isn't the One+... HTC has already announced the 64GB version as the One only

Can somebody please post a source for this? As HTC usually release a mildly upgraded version after a few months. And those are the phones I usually buy. (S2 + Sensation XE -> One X+)
I think it's more like one flagship phone this year. Already heard about 2 Desire # phone being released soon.
Also there's rumours of a follow up to HTC Butterfly in the coming months. Though would that be classed as a flagship, I'm not so sure...

Maybe they will make the butterfly 2 a 5.5"+ so they have to seperate flagships that don't really compete with each other ( kinda like GS/GNote or LGOG/LGOG Pro).

The butterfly 2/ dna 2 will be locked to sprint only. Don't take htc word I bet they will be releasing another flagship later this year they can never stick with one flagship
Last year they had 3 didn't they? Htc one X then one x+ and then dna?

[POLL] HTC One (M7) vs Samsung Galaxy S IV

I wanted to see a visual representation of which device people in the Vivid forums are switching too. Im with the S4 :highfive:
S4 for me as well...probably use my upgrade to get the att variant...then ill sell it at close to full retail price and use that towards the international version

If I had to choose between the two phones, I would choose the S4. The HTC One's issues with battery life is my biggest concern. I am probably not going to get either phone as my contract doesn't end till June 2014. If I was going to upgrade I was thinking about getting the Blu Life One, it is half the price, comes unlocked and there is no overlaying OS on top of Android.

While the one looks impressive, after having 3 HTC phones and **** support for all 3 including the major issues devs have had with the devices I'm def going Samsung next. All HTC care about is selling devices then abandoning them, and while I still love the look and feel of HTC they have dug their own grave.

ill be upgrading to the S4 as soon as it comes out

Should i sell my AT&T Galaxy S4 for a HTC ONE?

I have a month old flawless condition Galaxy S4 White. I'm not to impressed with the Development for this phone lately as it hasn't really been out that much less than the HTC one yet has 1/4 of the development. Ive been with HTC Phones my entire life HTC EVO 4G HTC EVO 3D HTC REZOUND HTC AMAZE I even had a HTC TOUCH DIAMOND. And the last 2 phones I had were the GS4 and the Gnex. I love heavily modded and feature packed roms. And the HTC ONE has all of that. And Mikes rom is doing Amazing on this phone so quite frankly im jealous. I absolutely love my S4 and it does everything I need but me being a crack flasher idk what to do right now and im stuck.
You should do what you're heart tells you. If you want to stick with the S4 do it. If you want a HTC One, buy it Most of the people on the One forum will tell you to ditch the S4 and get a premium aluminum boomsound One ( including me ) Fact is that the S4 and the One both are great high-end devices with excellent development here on XDA. Just do what you think is best!

I'm very happy now, I remember them saying that the Snapdragon S4 would have tons of custom roms.. but the octacore version was much better off .
I think after using the note for a couple of months and I got the S4, I saw nothing different. I think it was software and the build of the phone that got me. Also the development .
