[ROM] TOUCHLITE GE TOUCHWIZ Version 1.1 - Galaxy S 4 i9505G Android Development

[ROM] TOUCHLITE GE TOUCHWIZ Version 1.1 for the Google Edition Galaxy S IV
Welcome to the TOUCHLITE GE TOUCHWIZ ROM ( version 1.1 ) based off of the[ROM][MGA][26July] Barebone Firmware V3 by Stavr0s91i which is a I9505XXUBMGA Base debloated deodexed Touchwiz Firmware. First a Big Thank you to Stavr0s91i, for the Base to work with and Illogic6, nfsmw_gr who also made it possible for us to get this far. Finally a Big Thank you to Ktoonsez for his tireless work developing Kernal's. After a couple of months of modification we have something to start with here. I spent over a month using Stavr0s91i work to cut down the MH1 base with no success but thanks to Illogic6 he did get the Barebone firmware to boot by adding some libs and modules from the 4.3 OTA. I added some tweaks, applications, a kernel, and made some other modifications to come up with this lightweight and stable Touchwiz ROM. I have been testing it for almost a week and I have been very pleased with how nice it performs, the battery life is good as well. ALOHA from MJ

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. For the Best Performance Odin back to stock and Wipe Data to make space for Touchwiz ( Please Refer to the Odin threads ) You can store nandroid backups on your external SD card.
2. Place the TouchLite GE ROM on your SD Card
3. TWRP Recovery Recommended, WIPE data, cache, and dalvik 3 times, Wipe System once.
4. Install Zip from SD Card, ( Wipe cache and dalvik, Reboot and Enjoy ) Patience Booting up takes awhile.
When the ROM boots up it looks very bare so you will have to set up your Google account from settings, email, or the Play store and set up your lock screen and widgets. Also please note that you will have to probably input your APN ( Access Point Names ) so that Data works. I personally had to input my AT&T APN's.
Bugs & Reporting
As with any Custom ROM nothing is a 100% perfect. If you have found a legitimate bug please post as much information as possible so that I can address it. I cannot promise when or if this ROM or any other work I am involved in will be updated due to changes, time, or other things I am involved in which may take priority.

Yey finally!
Quick question though... Last night I was bored out of my mind, so I flashed one lite touchwiz rom from the i9505 and I flashed the 4.2.2 kernel after that, and I noticed that when im on the call, and i move the phone close to me and away, and the screen starts turning on and off - at some point it just turns off, and gets stuck.
I wanted to make sure that this does not happen on here too.
Other than that - thank you, sir

Alright,
A few things.
1st - the clock on the lockscreen is missing. Like, its there, but its invisible. It only shows up once I receive a txt msg.
2nd - Initial start of the rom - it will automatically load up. It doesn't ask about google account. Which means that once I set up my google account - it would not install all my existing applications back.
EDIT: To fix the clock - you have to go to settings->my device->lockscreen->lockscreen widgets->clock or personal message->choose clock->save
It does not work with personal message. Also, for some reason - weather is also missing.
Will report with more bugs shortly

Those are not bugs. This ROM is very light lots of things were removed like the google sign in and you have to set up your lock screen the way you want, widgets the way you want. If your looking for something that is pure stock with everything already running and set up out of the box this isn't for you.
Touchwiz is just too big for our partition so some sacrifices have to be made
The screenshot was how I set up mine you can configure yours as you wish

Have you looked at whats nesscary to get the CM mms apk to work on TW roms?
I know its changing some frame work and a few other things

Installed the new version. I'll kick, break, and test today and report back
I really am surprised how fast this is given it's TW..

great so far
I've been running since the release and haven't had any issues yet. Very quick
The only thing I did was install the email app from Aroma so I could still use it for work.
I'll keep using it for another week and report any issues I find
Good job on this release

I am interested in getting email app as well. Could you explain how you got it from Aroma?

I got aroma from here

you just copy to sd and run it from your recovery

No prob

Finally got to test the ROM last night....very smooth and fast. I've had no booting issues compared to the many other GE ROMs.
Thank you for your persistence!

Anyone know the right combo of installs to get the voice commands working for the camera?
I've installed S-Voice via Aroma and that gets me to the point of setting it up but once I say "shoot" "cheese" etc, nothing happens. Several of the other S-Voice commands seem to work fine but this one is stumping me.

[Q] RumRaider beta on Rogers HTC Raider

I was able to successfully flash the abv mentioned rom on to my device, however, even after adding the Rogers LTE apn settings, I am unable to get data service. Any suggestions/thoughts?
make sure ALL your APN settings are correct and reboot?
Data works here on bell with correct settings. Sadly No MMS at the moment
I think I figured it out. The APN Type has to be '*' for it to work.
Yes I used the apn backup app and just restored and it worked.
With stick it would actually say LTE on status bar with this it just says 4G, but it is LTE.

im working on that one. the quick and easy (read dirty) method is to rename some icons. i hate doing that, but i will if i have to.
Great rom pirateghost! I just flash the beta 7 and its working really well. I figured out how to solve the mms issue for Rogers, and it might be the same for Bell users. The last line where it says 'APN Type' it has to be set as "*". At least that's what did it for me.
Is there anyway of incorporating the Amaze 4G camera into this ROM? If so, it would be one badass ROM once completed!!
Thanks again for all your hard work, these ROMs are truly a blessing

I just replied to this at the bottom, but I believe for the MMS to work you would need to set the APN Type as "*".

The Amaze 4G camera has a better looking interface and a few more effects option. More importantly, it allows you to take video at 20mbps. There are also a lot of other nice little tweaks included in it. The holicakes rom has it if you want to check it out.
Here's a noob question... If I were to do a factory reset from H-Boot mode, would I loose my CWM recovery option?

You settings will not work. Not sure how it works with other carriers but on CBW you cannot use two different APN's for Internet and MMS. What I mean is that you're using "web.gocbw.com" for internet and "wap.gocbw.com" for MMS. Either change you Internet to "wap.gocbw.com" or make a single APN setup with both sets of setting (I'd use wap.gocbw.com still). Using one APN might not work as some devices are a bit touchy with trying to use one APN for MMS and Internet and some are fine.
Single APN setup Example:
Name: CBW Internet & MMS
APN: wap.gocbw.com
Proxy: 216.68.79.202
Port: 80
Username: cbw
Password: (none)
Server: 216.68.79.199
MMSC: http://mms.gocbw.com:8088/mms
MMS Proxy: 219.68.79.202
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 420
Authentication Type: PAP
APN: default,mms
Two APN setup Example:
WAP Settings:
Name: CBW Internet
APN: wap.gocbw.com
Proxy: 216.68.79.202
Port: 80
Username: cbw
Password: (none)
Server: 216.68.79.199

I feel like even though I do all the three wipes from the CWM, I feel like there are still remnants of the old rom I had on there previously. Just curious to see if its any different from doing a full wipe.

its not possible for remnants to be there. let me explain:
the install script for the rom does the following in regards to formatting:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p29");
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p35");
where mmcblk0p29 is /system (this is the whole rom, essentially. if this wasnt formatted there would be major problems loading a new rom)
mmcblk0p34 is /data, where all your user apps get stored along with settings (this doesnt get formatted in the actual install script, so its up to you if you want to format it)
mmcblk0p35 /cache
/cache
This is the partition where Android stores frequently accessed data and app components. Wiping the cache doesn’t effect your personal data but simply gets rid of the existing data there, which gets automatically rebuilt as you continue using the device.

doing a full wipe will actually FORMAT those partitions that you wipe....aka, NOTHING left on them. its not deleting and sending to a recycle bin, its actually formatting them, much like you do when you reinstall the OS on your computer.
basically, it will all yield the same results, with formatted partitions, so there is nothing that can carry over. the only things that can carry over are items on your internal/external sdcard and if you didnt wipe /data. i have never had any negative results from leaving stuff on my internal/external sd cards when switching roms, so that area is safe.

I just flashed back to the holiday ROM and then back to the RumRaider ROM and both times, my wallpaper and sound settings carried over. I'm not sure if thats the backup feature from google at work or not, but I will try and test it further.
I also noticed that with the beta 7 ROM, the buttons don't light up. I believe someone mentioned that in the dev section.
Thanks again for all of your help and input. Its turning out to be a great rom.
Amaze 4g Camera
I second that request for the Amaze 4g camera. I am currently running Holicakes .3 and I love the camera app, its slick. I am dying to try RumRaider and Sense 3.5. But, I want to wait for Beta 8 for you to improve the music app by removing beats. RumRaider + tweaked music + Amaze 4g camera + Sense 3.5 would be the king of all things Vivid Rom. Thank you PG for all of your hard work thus far!

Rogers Raider - RumRaider Beta 10 + Beats 0.2 mod
So far so good..flashed my phone last night and am already enjoying the differences I'm seeing.. Phone is nice and responsive, everything worked great and as expected the only thing I had to manually enter were my Rogers APN settings. Once I did that (I just wrote them all down & manually re-entered them) everything was perfect. Glad I read thru the dev forums or the data icons would have messed with me. LTE is working just fine for me. (shows as 4G but really thats what LTE is so..afaic its more accurate than stock.)
I also added the beats mod using cwm recovery, and I have to say that my Sennheisers really appreciated it. I mean, there are some ok EQ apps out there (like the EQ that comes with this rom for example) but there's a pretty noticable difference in the bass reproduction when using the beats audio mod. I'd say it was a definite upgrade to the rom, and I'm curious why it was taken out, as it was in the earlier betas..?
I like pretty much everything about this ROM.. no complaints, and my phone has even stopped randomly shutting off. Stock ROMs can officially bow to RumRaider and all involved in its creation - AWESOME JOB!! ...and of course many thanks, because as competent as I like to think I am, this was my first time rooting and flashing custom anything to a phone. I was a little freaked..but I lurked the forums for a couple weeks and kept tabs on the RumRaider and Bananacakes mods..but I ended up choosing RumRaider and I'm glad I did. Installation was easy, and the results were worth the risk. I'm excited to see when a "final" release is polished up and put out to sample. For now, I'm just glad not to have to look at the giant red rogers logo when my phone boots up anymore.. LOL!
^ No offense, but frankly speaking, beats was taken out because it sucks. Pirateghost did a lot of reading up in what it actually does and it isn't anything special. Real EQ? Try out poweramp. Beats is all for show, and that's exactly all it is for these HTC phones too. If you were really serious about audio, you shouldn't be buying HTC. You'd buy an old device out of the galaxy family with that Wolfson dac.

Facebook and texts issues
Thank you for your great work Tonyp! My husband is to blame getting me started on rooting. So I'm not much of an expert. I did search your dev forum and didn't see anything listed with my two issues. I did a full wipe, dalvik, battery, cache etc. However I'm getting two recurring bugs. With Facebook uploading a picture I get two notification of the same upload. One bar fills and shows it uploaded, then I can remove it. The other just stays at zero and I can't wipe if off the bar. I have to use a full reboot. The other is I keep dropping network signal. I have matching RILs, 725, and I'm using the 725 v10d Europe. I'm using ATT up in Alaska. When i switch to a CM7 ROM ( my best results are with the nightlies) I never have an issue, or my windows phone (which i reaaaaaaaaly don't want to use) But for some reason any CM9 ICS ROM i try to use with my phone always drops network randomly. Yours is the first one that has held on to the signal for the longest period without drops. (about 1-2 days) Right now all my texts are sent and I get replys. But after a reboot they all come back as failed even though i know they went through. I'm not sure if this is just a network provider issue since when I pop my SIM card back into my stock windows phone is works without issue or network dropping.
I apologize if these are petty issues, but my normal tech support is currently deployed and I've been trying to text him. Since its my only communication with him right I dont want to have to go back to a cm7 cause I love your ROM. Thank you for your time!
Oh I just remembered that I didn't have this text or network error until after I installed your Wifi drop fix the other day. The Notification bar issue ive had since i updated to build 5 from a full wipe 4. should i just reflash the rom and fix?
2 questions:
1. How can I change dpi of widgets, I searched in forum, but no answer, and I found this http://www.paranoid-rom.com/forum/paranoid-talk/40-widget-scaling
but i don't know where change this.
2. How can I change Photo app to tablet UI. In paranoid Settings > List of apps > I don't have system apps, only installed.
Thanks.
And I saw thread about opera mobile, only opera mobile that works in ICS rom is 11.50, works in paranoidandroid for me.

No idea about facebook.
The data dropping is an ICS issue for some people.
I posted a textfix regarding the data drops at the dev threads a couple posts back.
You can get it at my dev host PA folder as well: http://d-h.st/myfiles?fld_id=3819#files
Please install it and give feedback if it works.

1. Don't use the paranoid-android website, it contains mainly information for Jellybean. The option is at paranoid settings - list of apps - choose app - and check "force scaling" at the bottom.
2. there are tabs, you're at "downloaded" - you need to swipe the tabbar to "all" or sth. like that.
gonna grab this when i get home! sounds like its gonna be a good rom!
Out of curiosity I swapped back to the current cm7 nightly and I got the same text message failed bug. So it must be my carrier. *kicks ATT* ah well. I did use the WIFI fix you put up Tony and it works great so far! Thanks for the help

I'm on T-Mobile and I used to have similar issues with text messages. I found a solution by manually entering my network apn. Maybe it might help you as well.
I wouldn't know what AT&T's would be but I am sure you can easily google that.

Looked like it was put in auto on my phone all but the password. Put that in and its been sending now. Thanks
Great rom tony p appreciate your hard work completely man.. Been using this rom since the past few days and i must say it works like a charm.. the only bug i am facing is the 2g data drop sometimes.. saw your new fix for data drops.. hopefully that will work.. Thank you so much for the rom !!
Tonyp, thx for superb rom. Thank You for your hard and dedicated work to make our phone usable. Well, more than usable...it is great Last time a got this great feeling using my O2x was back then when I got temasek 127 build working (cm7). Just loving ICS features and fast and responsive UI.
After full week of using your rom (and this is my new record in last 2 months when I flashed new rom allmost every few days...I'm a flash maniac...and I'm proud of it ), let me report couple of things:
1. your browser fix worked as described and no more browser fc for me
2. in settings - data usage there is no option to set data quota for me, that line/button is missing.
Edit 3: added screenshot of my data usage screen.
3. in settings-display there is no option for notifications for me, that line/button is missing. You mentioned that option when asked on how to disable led notifications in your dev thread.
4. just flashed v5 over v4.1 (wiped cache&dalvik) and after system booted up I found that XDA app is removed (hm?! wtf?! was my first reaction, too). Ever heard of sth like that? I've been using custom roms for allmost 3 months now and newer had anything like that happened to me before. And strangest of all, after reinstalling xda app, my user name and pass was there, remembered :-/
Edit 1: same missing app thingy happened for another app.
Edit 2: SOLVED misterious problem with my apps dissapearing- my sdcard was unmounted after upgrade, now remounted and all is ok
Once afain, I must say thank you for everything you did, you do and will do for us. Devs like you are the only reason for me not to give up on my O2x ...and lack of $$$ to get another phone
The best ICS ROM for LG O2X ;c) I tried owein's ROM and Supernova but they were too unstable for me.

It got fixed (screenshoot enclosed) by updating to v5 (first update failed due to error in zip file, just dl it again and installed without any problem, wiped cache/dalvik). If it is helpfull, I can restore to v4.1 and post a screenshoot.
Edit: and there goes that screenshoot from v5

No need for a v4.1 screenshot. You said in your last post that you've flashed v5 so I was targeting v5 with my answer of course
Just in case someone missed it, head over to the dev thread to get some amazing news (IMHO):

Ok. Thx for your support and help
Allready read your newest dev thread post...looking forward to testing and reporting on v6. Keep up the excellent job
So I recently flashed this after having been a faithful Domination user. So far no complaints. I seem to have less free ram but performance is just as good.
I really like the date format and settings button in the status bar. It doesn't seem out of place anymore.
I only miss being able to "kill all" from the recent apps menu and inverting the volume keys when in landscape. These are very minor things though.
I'm really loving this port and want to say thank you
Edit: It seems that the Play Store hides certain apps that I could find before (even on the old version). Root Explorer and System Tuner won't show in the search for example. I have to search in the browser and from there open the Store directly on the app.
I tried resetting to phone UI and stock UI and clearing data but it still won't show the apps.
I have the modded Gapps with Google Now. Should I reflash or flash wo/ Google Now?

The ROM is working really nice and nearly lag free. I was just wondering if the lag / dalvik fix you made comes pre-installed with the app or do i still have to flash that zip file?
Also, amazing job with this ROM, it makes a very good case for not even needing hardware acceleration because everything is essentially working.

Help with Straight Talk MMS

Hey guys. I've installed this ICS port from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2021722
And while for the most part it works fine, I can't seem to get MMS working even though I'm using the same settings as what I had before.
Also, GoShare in GoSMS doesn't seem to want to work unless I'm on wifi but my 3G connection works fine for all my other apps.
Anyone?????????????
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
When you updated to that version, did you flash a new baseband file?
Yes. I had to
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
What baseband are you using?
I actually posted the wrong link. This is the ICS port I installed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960150
And I installed the baseband that's linked there. LG V18a
if it's anything like net10...
then you need to contact them thru customer support and explain the baseband flash and kindly ask for a reactivation... worked for me
You might try your mms proxy as 66.209.11.33:80 and leaving the "Port" field under it blank.
Are you using an ATT compatible sim or T-Mobile?

I'm using a Straight Talk sim in it. Though my phone is AT&T compatible.
Also I found out that I can receive MMS. But I can't send. Also my multi-page texts are being cut off in random places for some reason.
So does nobody know what's going on??????
Ok, this should get you fixed and running. Please let me know if you used the APN settings from the thread you posted.
The APN settings in that thread are wrong for Straight Talk. If your phone has not been unlocked then you should have ordered an AT&T compatible SIM card from Straight Talk. If you ordered a T-Mobile compatible SIM, these APN settings will not work.
In the thread you said you installed from, the .dll file for the LG Flash Tool is wrong. You need this file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=789339&d=1321818969
If you change your APN settings and you still have problems, re-install your ROM using the instructions from that thread EXCEPT use the .dll posted above. (Thanks to adixtra for the .dll) Delete all previous Straight Talk APN's before setting this up.
Straight Talk APN Settings (AT&T Compatible SIM ONLY)
Name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
Leave everything else as it is, save the APN, then change the default APN to the "Straight Talk" APN in the list. Reboot your phone. If you have questions about this process your should check here
http://www.straighttalksim.com/pdf/ST_SIMCard_ActCard_AT&T_R3.pdf
or here
http://www.straighttalksim.com/support.php
Let me know how this goes.
Okay. I'm reflashing everything now with that DLL. Maybe I'll hand this DLL to the person who posted that thread as well if all goes well. Thanks.
Okay I flashed everything with the new dll file.
However, it's still a no go.
But I went into my phone information. I noticed something strange.

Pretty sure it's not supposed to be like that. I can get a data connection. I can download apps, watch videos, and I can RECEIVE MMS on 3G but I can't send. Also my texts are still being cut off.
It sounds like it might be an issue with the baseband.
The problem with your message length is a known problem with the ICS ROMS for now. Maximum single message is 80 characters.
Does the number in the IMEI section match what's under the battery?
---------- Post added at 11:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ----------
Also, can you show a screen shot of your APN settings?
Yes it does match.
Here are my APN settings.
And in case you're wondering, yes I did change the LCD density value.
I'm working on testing the settings and the rom. I'll get back to you when I finish.
Well as far as I know I'm basically using the same ROM as you according to your sig. Because the thread I followed linked to that thread for the ROM download, I just used a different dll and baseband file.
So far, testing that baseband, I've had issues with my data not connecting properly and improper proxy communication. This seems to depend on the cell tower or area I was in. I'll post another update when I've had a chance to test the other available basebands. Proxy issues could cause MMS problems. Does your phone seem a little slow receiving texts?
Not that I've noticed. I mean I've texted myself a few times to test it out. Some texts do take a little longer than others but generally they come through within about 5 seconds or so.
But did you ever have issues? If not, maybe you could just send me your baseband file and your settings. You can use APN Backup and Restore to back them up and send me the XML file.
I would really appreciate it.

Q: How do I root this?
A: Enable root in the perm manager, which can be found in the security folder.
Q: Why is G-Apps not listed for Download?
A: Too Bloaty, add a Google account and install the play store as an APK, I suggest using Aptoide to find it.
Q: 4G LTE isn't working
A: Load the Phone, dial *#*#4636#*#*, goto Phone information, Set preferred network type to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL).
Q: Help! Phone/SystemUI/Keyboard Isn't working/Is Force Closing!
A: Make sure to do a completely clean wipe, also I'm not sure how well this will work if flashed in CWM.
Q: The Browser looks terrible.
A: Settings -> Advanced -> User agent string -> MiOne (It Renders much better & more naturally!)
Q: My Filesystems won't mount/My PC can't see my device/My phone won't act as a MTP/USB Mounting isn't working!
A: Settings -> Developer Options -> Enable Development / USB Debugging (switch both to on)
I'm getting a problem with having an invisible lockscreen, it works but there is just nothing there.

I am Tquetski not 2699462, It's a different person and this is a different ROM entirely.

Idk, I'm not that guy but there is prob. not too huge of a difference since they both seem to be AOSP base.
I don't know why his is as heavy as mine, the KB+ Translation files account for most of this files size and outside of that it's pretty clean (no weird code or custom APKs)
After Flash Report
Okay flashed this morning, because i fell asleep while formatting my data in recovery last night (huge fail) lol.
Haven't seen much reports on this rom, so i decided to flash & do it myself.
But anyway, so far on first flash, no problems what so ever, booted up normally & quickly, no force closures besides one (as far as i know), nothing major tho, just when you enable the 'smiley' button on the Xperia keyboard, the keyboard force closes, no biggie at all, us android users can easily switch key boards .
Another few UI issues i ran into (again nothing major), i guess a little glitch, the weather icon & calender icons are invisible, not 100%, you can see the shadows, but the icon design itself is missing, also the invisible lockscreen which was already mentioned, these icon & lockscreen issues are easily fixed by applying a theme, another thing, when setting a wallpaper, the alignment was way off, was easily fixed with a reboot tho, not sure if applying a theme also fixed it, but it works regardless with no effort.
Mms works, but i had to do a simple APN edit, honestly haven't checked if the APN settings that came with the ROM works, haven't tested it because i usually use this one specific edit for any MIUI Rom i flash.
Besides that, the Rom has been working flawless for me atleast, also not sure about battery life, when i woke up, my phone was dead due to falling asleep in recovery at 4%, so i will report back on that & any other issues if i run into.
To the dev, great job on the Rom, MIUI can be a pain to most when porting .
To the users, all issues I've reported so far shouldn't discourage you from flashing the Rom, pretty much one time issues, so no doubt flash away
Could you please post your apn edit for us?

Miui usually comes with its own core apks I believe, no need to flash gapps & for the APN edits, go to your APN settings, you should see 4 APN saved, edit any one of the last 2, for the name, put Sprint, for the APN edit under name, I use cinet.spcs then go down to MMSC, click on it and don't erase anything, just add "/servlets/mms" (no quotes) , save it, click on it, reboot & lemme know if it works, honestly, I think it was a trial so keep trying, also mess with the *#*# 4636#*#* menu & see if you get lucky
Well done on this. Hope your builds continue as the other MIUI roms will not work on the latest version of Philz recovery

A lot of those core apks do not work correctly while some do. its hit or miss. Or let me rephrase and say dont work as intended. Like the market that comes with miui is no where close to be like the play store and its in chinese.

I'd say the only real difference is that he used PatchROM where I just use the same Frameworks from my Razr XT926 and then fork it across every device I build for.. Interestingly in this case his release is more of an 'original work' even though mine is more functional but I'll get to that later.
The thing is that I don't really give a fk about being all original, I do care about results. If I continued to use XT926 components from my project here that would be the case but I seen the S4 mini had a working MIUI camera so I just took it along with the CameraParameters and forked it to this to see if it would really run, it did.
I'm not swinging my peen around by releasing over someone else; this port took 5 minutes real-time because my workspace is a little different than a Linux workspace; I fork to multiple devices for greater feedback so I'm really just testing here not trying to steal someone elses usersbase; I'm just playing around and having fun

Battery life is subjective to the way you use your device.
Cellular signal strength, wakelocks, refresh interval, what apps you have installed are all different factors that play a role into your daily battery. Just because I myself or somebody else has good battery life or bad battery life doesn't mean you will have the same results.
Any ROM gives good battery life as long as you have your phone set up in a way that it properly deep sleeps. I made the ROM in a way that it stays minimal without all the unnecessary features (in my opinion) and gives you Franco Kernel out of the box which already provides good battery life.

I don't personally use sprint so I wasn't able to test this but I'll look into it sometime tomorrow as I'm just heading to bed.
I did include the sprint and verizon apn, the verizon data build prop being ro.telephony.get_imsi_from_sim=true correct?
Is there any cellular data at all? 4g 3g edge regular phone call signal?

It seems the Sprint DM is not installed. I'm guessing that's why we have this issue? Under Carrier Settings you get a force close when trying to open.
I can send and receive SMS and a call. No MMS or other data available. I show as connected to LTE,ehrpd, 1x etc under Signal Check Lite. But no connection when trying to run a speed test etc. Great ROM, hopefully this is an easy fix. Thanks!

You can't get Mms because the stock Mms.apk is not included with this ROM. I didn't include it because people rarely ever use it anyways and can just get one from their GApps (or on Play Store). Do other ROMs you've previously used that had cellular data have SprintDM?
A log cat of Carrier Settings would help as well. So basically, you can receive text/voice calls but anything related to cell data doesn't work? Are you happening to be nationally roaming?

I can send/receive MMS when I switch on WiFi with textra. If WiFi is off, the MMS just sits there.
I've only used rooted stock and CleanROM which is stock based. Worked fine, as Sprint DM is included, not sure that's really the issue. I just wondered.
I have roaming turned on. But showed I was connected to Sprint towers. I'll mess with it a bit tomorrow if I can. Thank you.

Try
Sprint data dialer reset code:
*#*#72786#*#*
Select reset then OK to confirm
No data is lost.
Most recent PRL version as of 1/7/15:

or go into dialer -> *#*#4636#*#* -> phone info -> select preferred network type.. try setting it to CDMA/LTE.
See if any of those help. If not then it could be SprintDM.apk, see if you can revert back to that ROM and then try taking that apk and putting it into /priv-app/ and then reboot. See if something shows up afterwards.
If so, upload the apk and I'll turn it into a flashable zip that you can sideload and it should work on any ROM.
I've checked through everything and I don't see any errors on my part. I have the included parts that other ROMs have included, sprintfix.zip is simply updating the APN which the ROM's APN already includes sprint.

Might be a problem with the way you're installing it. The easiest way is to install universal init.d app and then open it and then press 01VomerTweaks and top right press Play.
Assuming you have dual or quad in the right folder then it should load all the settings.

I have downloaded the app selected 01VomerTweaks and press play but when I use the app CPU adjuster to verify the settings the CPU max is not underclocked. I have the dual in the folder. Screenshot attached.

See if any of those help. If not then it could be SprintDM.apk, see if you can revert back to that ROM and then try taking that apk and putting it into /priv-app/ and then reboot. See if something shows up afterwards.

Do a clean wipe and try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58133435&postcount=90
User confirmed it works with Sprint.

Seeing that the app has not been updated for Lollipop and was last updated on February 24, 2014. Try another app such as Trickster to see if it still says.
Use universal init.d to apply vomertweaks.
So I just flashed to chroma and love it! Except the android keyboard won't work, and it keeps telling me that it is broken through constant pop-ups lol. I used gapps 5.0.x beta from xda, and I went with the smallest google footprint model which doesn't have google keyboard. So I can't download a keyboard because have one, and I don't have a filebrowser to sideload. How can I sideload an apk keyboard?

As indicated in OP,
You can use any GApps you want to as they're universal, I personally recommend BaNkS' GApps.

Why are you using GApps other than the one I listed in OP? Your GApps is replacing the stock AOSP keyboard that is included with the ROM.
Use the ones I recommended in OP post.

There's a new update to VT and a new update to Franco Kernel. Be careful because conservative is better than interactive.
New build coming today.
