I use the mortorla s-11 Bluetooth headset. No need for an armband then.

I workout with a smartphone for 2 years and I made a conclusion that is just too big and heavy. honestly I find Ipod shuffle better suited for the job. its small and I don't have to worry about breaking it.

I used to use my former S4 while running on the treadmill.
I just leave my phone in front, connected to my LCD, and watch episodes while I run. I use a Sony BT headset too
Now, I'm just waiting for my Slimport adapter to come in so I can perform the same trick with my G2.
If you're gonna jog with the device, I suggest get a much lighter device... a dedicated MP3 player or such.

I'm also thinking of getting an arm band, my ipod classic is too heavy to run in. This LG G2 is light should be fine, I rather not spend money on another iPod. Problem is looking for a arm band that can fit this monster of a phone!

I never though of using a bt headset. I'll have to look into it. I was looking at armbands on amazon and they're cheap so I might just order 1 to see how they fit this phone and if it'll work ok

I've used a blue tooth headphones for about 2 years. In my opinion they are safer than your traditional wired headphones and your ports don't get messed up.

I use it to run, lift weights, heavy bag, etc. I just stick it in my pocket, been doing that for years. I have to have a smartphone because I only listen to streaming music like DI.FM. I also use BT headphones, the jaybird ones which are awesome and tiny.

I went running the other day with it. I don't have a case or anything and I was using wired headphones. It wasn't too bad but it did get slippery after a bit of running. I'm looking for some armband options or something and some bt headphones eventually.

So...to anyone who's using wired headphones + armband--did you have any trouble with the back buttons getting pressed while running? This is my biggest fear.
As for bluetooth headphones--can anyone recommend a cheap pair of BT earbuds? I feel like that may be the route to go.

I've been using a rocketfish bt (best buy in house brand) and an armband with multiple smart phones for a couple of years and can't go back. Currently using an old armband from my note 2 and have no real issues with running. The only issue is accessing buttons on back but doesn't happen often cause I can control most things I need via the headphones.

I use the new Jaybird Bluebuds which are like $160, they are worth every penny IMO. You can get their old BT style, the Freedom for $99, they are almost as good just a bit bigger. I know that's far from "cheap", but they have great sound and you can be on a trapeze and they won't fall out. I used a coupon code from a running forum and got the bluebuds for like $80 I think.

The Epic Trance channel is phenomenal for workouts !!!

I bought this a few weeks ago and it works really well. http://www.rei.com/product/798346/amphipod-airflow-microstretch-waistpack It stretches enough vertically so that the G2 just fits into it. For reference I doubt that you could fit a Note 3. It barely weighs anything and if I wear it over the waistband of my shorts I can't even feel the belt itself. I can feel the phone but it's not uncomfortable. I zip it up so that just the headphone cord pokes out of the zipper and it's been secure so far. Because of how it it is constructed and how much it stretches I think it would be secure even if it wasn't zipped. It doesn't provide any protection. I'm hoping it will still fit with the Diztronic case I ordered. Right now the phone is naked.I insert the phone so that the buttons are facing away from my body. It's not convenient if you need access to the screen but I don't find that I do.

i just shove it in the pant/short pocket
blue tooth headphones are a must, and the lg tones+ are pretty damn nifty if you ask me

Shorts pocket. I run lots of hills / sprints and have never had an issue with the phone falling out.
If I buy new running shorts I may look into an armband though.

I have the Jay birds mentioned above.... They are crazy good. The g2.sounds so good with them. I also own the LG tone... It's not bad and under 50.

FM Transmitter + Car Charger / Car Mount / Bluetooth

I am currently using a Note II and want to play music through my car stereo (no AUX and build in Bluetooth) so I need to have a FM transmitter. However, it will be better if it include the feature for charging, car mount and Bluetooth. Is there any product that is recommended for this?
I too went through this, found it easier to just change stereos, but you say yoursb has bluetooth already, skip the fmn transmitter, and just stream through bt.
Interested to see the responses as I'm also looking for a FM Transmitter that will charge as I use for my Note 2.

What I mean is that no AUX and (no) build in Bluetooth
I've found a couple. I can't tell you about quality or anything like that.
There's this that meets all your needs:

Or this that meets three of your needs:

Thanks for the product you search and they do exactly what I need. However, one of them is way too expensive and the other one is originally for Apple product where they just include a USB to microUSB for chaging the phone. And since they are design for Apple product, I doubt that it can fit the Note II as it is wider.

I've been using this FlexSMART since December. It's worked out pretty well. Little pricey at $50, but it works quite well and pairs easy.
Missed the part about the mount, but I don't think you'll have much luck finding an all in one including that.

Yes I do notice the FlexSMART on Amazon but not the mount you use. I have some question for you regarding these product.
About the FlexSMART:
I saw some review said that if connect with Bluetooth then will result in low music quality but is ok for the call quality. The music quality will be best if connect with AUX cable. Also, some people said their device breaks down after several month. Some said that they are having static while using. What do you think about the above problem? Do you mind to tell me how you use it normally? Also, can you explain about the 3 years warranty to me or how is it work?
About the Car Mount:
Can it be mount on the dash or just on the window? Is it feel tight and solid when mounting with the phone? How is the way it secure the phone? Is it convenience to put on and off the phone easily?
Lastly, can you re-post the review that you post on Amazon about these product at here? It will be easy for me to have an overview of how are these look like and the way they work. Thanks!!!
I use my GN2 in my '12 Mustang without any problem. It is mounted on a Panavise metal mount bolted to car and it's quite secure. http://www.panavise.com/
I havi on the swivel adapter so I can rotate between portrait & landscape modes.

I use it daily for music to and from work. If there are audio quality issues, it's not enough to bother me. I had some static at first, but a change of the frequency plus lowering volume on the FlexSMART and a couple notches on the BT sound setting on the Note 2 helped.
Warranty: Couldn't tell ya. I registered the product. If it breaks, I'll contact them. I'm hoping it doesn't. Keep in mind fuses don't last forever. You will have to replace it a few times a year.
It's worked well, and I like that it has a simple on/off switch rather than having to pull it out of the cigarette lighter. I also like the look and height as it sits well in the floor console of my Explorer and the buttons are easy to access and figure out without looking at it.
Now for the mount, mine came a little bit weird. I was expecting a suction cup deal with an option for window or dash. What I got was a suction cup with a foam bit glued to it with an adhesive sticker side to mount on another piece of round plastic which had an adhesive side to mount onto the dash. Anyway, I stuck it on the dash and it's held secure since I got it months ago. Holds my phone well. I figure I'll have to pull out the Goop Off to clean the dash when I'm finally sick of it.
To secure it to the phone it has one end that is spring loaded and you simply slide the phone in against that side. It holds pretty secure even with my Otterbox Commuter. The pads are getting a bit disfigured from constant use, but pads can be replaced (I mean, it's just a pad). It holds pretty damn tight and I've caught my finger in it once. It's pretty solid. Landscape or portrait, it feels pretty secure. For $10, it's not a huge gamble.
I haven't posted reviews on these on Amazon.

Thanks for your valuable review for those product. For the transmitter, did you try using the usb port to charge anything? And who will you contact for the warranty of anything happen? Amazon or the manufacturer? For the mount, seems like it is easy to install and hold the phone tightly but hard to remove but I think it will not bother me as I will not frequently change the position of it. But is it easy to access all the button and port while it mounted? Thanks in advance!!!

Been using it for over a year in construction work trucks so its durable not to mention its powerful enough to drown out some of my local stations and one day a coworker 3 car lenths behind me said he found my station and listened to it for a chunk of our ride. Almosy forgot the charger works fine but unfortunatly its only 500mv. Thats my only gripe about this product. It will keep up charge with pandora or something running but if ur watching a movie it might drain slowly. Also I just read the one guy said 50 was pricey I dissagree ive paid 99 bucks for a belkin that I wanted to throw out my window and run over (which I later did in an unrelated event lol) ohh and I think the quality is fine its not as good as with an aux cable but its good enough it shouldnt irritate u and call quality is good

Thanks for your info. I just found a car mount by iBolt for the model xProDock and it looks pretty cool as it has mostly everything in it and it will be perfect if my car has USB port and AUX port =.=lll
So now I am thinking of a few combination as below:
--> GoGroove ($50) + Car Mount ($10) = $60++
--> xProDock ($45) + FM Transmitter ($6 or $15) + Bluetooth Headset ($20) = $71 or $80
--> FM Transmitter ($6 or $15) + Car Mount ($10) + Bluetooth Headset ($20) = $36 or $45
For the alternate FM Transmitter, I am referring to as below from Amazon.
--> Coby CA-745 Wireless FM Car Transmitter with Digital Display and DC Car Cigarette Lighter Adapter ($15)
--> SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote ($6)
The only downside for GoGroove set will be answer phone call through in car speaker and phone build-in mic. Also, seems like the cheapest option will only have a limited experience with it.
By the way, is anyone has any other product that has the feature like the xProDock???
I went with the gogroove x2 and it has worked fine for me.
Combine that with Tasker (app) and everytime I get in my car, it automatically connects to bluetooth, and plays my music
I use the Jabra SP700 + a separate car dock (for charging). Works ok. The only problem with this setup is that the FM transmitter is much weaker than the regular broadcast. So you need to really increase the volume on your car stereo to get a decent level from your speakers.
But I am now considering a slightly different setup. I found an Aux adapter for my stereo at (connects2.com) and will just use a stereo cable to connect an extra Sony Ericsson MW600 that I have. I think the sound quality will be much better.

Bluetooth Recommendations

I have had both the Motorola elite Sliver and the jawbone era. They were both of high quality but I ended up going with the Sliver over the jawbone Purley for comfort reasons. However, the thing was so comfortable that it fell off my ear and I didn't notice it... So $129 down the drain. Right now I'm using a cheapo plantronics that I picked up at Walmart and it adequate butbi really want a nice headset again.
So my question is, do I once again choose between the jawbone or Motorola, or is there another option out there?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
sometimes the best place to start are the "critical" professionals: CNet's Best Blue Tooth headsets Personally, I like the Jawbone. I had the Prime then went to the Era. They felt fine to me. Although a little loose because I had worked in call center and had a custom ear mold for the phone's at work.
Thanks for the link mate, I'm pretty much burnt out on all the options presented in that review, but I guess there just isn't anything else for my money other than the jawbone. Good heads up regardless.

I've tried quite a few including the Sennheisser, Bose and Plantronics ones and the early Jawbone, and for me the best is the Jawbone Era. I also find the fit a bit loose having worked in a call centre too, but I do think it the best there (for me at any rate!)
I know it's possible to get custom ear molds for a lot ear pieces. One of these, I going to do that for mine and in ear canal headphones. After having used one at work for five years, nothing has come close, once you get use to wearing them. The one at work took a good month to get used to. After that, I would forget I had it on, unless it get yanked out; that's an unpleasant reminder.
As for the headsets, There aren't a lot to choose from that are quality and perform well. The Jawbone's definitely have a different feel for them since they sit an angel and need to rest on your jawbone area. Where others, sit more like other headphones with mics being perpendicular. Thus, at the start, they're not the most comfortable comparatively. I personally don't like or use the ear loop. Never have, and never used. I found, for me, I didn't need it with the Jawbone with their bigger earpiece ring.

[Q] Retro phone

Hi, i've bought the retro phone style to use with my phone. And I got a problem, whenever i try to plug it in, my sgn2 it recognizes it as headphones, and when i try to call with it i only get the speaker sound, but the microphone is dead, does anyone know what to do?

Yeah, need a link for an exact thing. I assume its a connection through headphone jack, just like any headphones with built in mic/remote. In theory it should be the same thing just a fancy replacement of headphone with some analog style retro phone?!? I would suggest to check your 3.5mm connector. Typically those will be partitioned into headphone/mic/control sections. The section for speaker on that connector is working ok, while the one for mic is not. Probably ask for a replacement? Also, if you have stock headphones or any other headphones with mic to pickup calls, test it out with your phone to make sure its not your phone connector problem.

I have one ( a different brand in black) that is pretty well made. It was cheap and its fun.
Nobody needs a music player shaped like a Victrola, or like an old vacuum tube radio, or shaped like a Wurlitzer Juke Box. None the less all of those sell.
There has always been a market for nostalgia.

LG Quadbeat 2

Hi, I was very curious about these headphones, so I ordered a set from EBAY from Korea. They are not that good at all, very poor bass response, feel somewhat cheap and fit poorly. If you are on the fence about getting these, don't bother.
try moving them around in your ear, bit tricky then you can hear the bass. So far they are the best I ever had with a phone (Iphone, Samsung), actually better then all the plugs I had.
The thick wires also untangle like a charm.
Sent from my LG-D802
They came in the box with my D802.
Tried them, put them back in the box, and ordered some good in-ear set.
The Quadbeats 2 are just horrible! no where close to the quality of the ones that came with the HTC One.

Lol didn't you get the memo? Apple should market their earbuds as "Intelligent Dual-Purpose (earbud + makeshift speaker) Headsets". When you're by yourself in a quiet space, they are painfully loud. When you're in a loud place with lots of other people, they leak sound like oil from the Exxon Valdez. It's basically impossible to listen to anything in class; everyone else can hear what you're listening to.
Anyways, I haven't tried Samsung, but however bad the Quadbeats are they MUST be far superior to those dreaded Apple earphones.

Agreed, though I like the over all sound from the apple head phones over the quadbeats
I just tried mine tonight, compared with my now a few years old Sennheiser cx300 (I think) in ears. Have to say I prefer the sound on the Quadbeat 2's right now. Definitely a bit lighter on bass, but overall a lot more clear. Very impressed for a pair of headphones included for free in the box!
Also, the phone volume for music can go a lot louder with the Quadbeats in for some reason too.
Combined with Viper XHifi I'm damn happy.

I have long been an audiophile for many years and have lived through the advacements from tubed systems through the 7 and 11 transistor radios to what is available today for 10s of thousands of dollars. Everyones hearing is different and what sounds like velvet to me may sound like fingernails being dragged across the chalk board to you. As such, you will either like these or not. I like them, a lot. Worth every penney I paid for them and I use Sennheisers in my home. For the price, these are more than adequate for the task when I am out and about. Of course I listen to Pink Floyd and not to Waka Flocka, and Bach instead of ..... Well, you get the idea.

No, it tells you that that is his preference. The general feeling on the Quadbeats 2 is very positive for bundled earphones.
I talk to a lot people that think in-ear monitors, on the whole, don't have any bass. These same people generally don't know how to fit them properly. There's a reason most IEMs include multiple tips. The wearer must find the right size and style of tip to properly seal in the ear canal. Some folks are lucky and can get good fit from a medium mushroom single flange. Others (myself and my son included) need to customize for best fit and comfort.
Some of the most compelling sound reproduction I've ever heard came out of a set of cheap customized wood (Altec?) IEMs.

There's a reason most IEMs include multiple tips. The wearer must find the right size and style of tip to properly seal in the ear canal. Some folks are lucky and can get good fit from a medium mushroom single flange. Others (myself and my son included) need to customize for best fit and comfort.
Some of the most compelling sound reproduction I've ever heard came out of a set of cheap customized wood (Altec?) IEMs.

...most people also don't seem to know what good bass really sounds like...but that's a deep, dark, scary hole to go down...

I know, I need a smaller sized plug on my right ear than I do my left, looks weird if anyone ever borrows them, but they're my ears dammit. For what they are (free in my box!) or if bought, a cheap pair oh earphones, they are a very decent bit of kit. Anyone expecting world beating results is looking in the wrong place however.

Well... I've been testing a lot on the QuadBeat 2, and compared to quadbeat 1, they are fare better
But, thier earbuds are very stiff, so my Beoplay H3 from B&O stays as my headset, on my optimus G2
I have the Bose Android sport from Amazon and the sound is incredible..

It should be though shouldn't it really. Comparing items from Bose and B&O with iem's that come free in the box of the phone is a bit redundant surely?

And yes your right. All though my head phones that came with my s3 sound great it seems like you win some and you lose some. My G2 is o pre order and I can't wait to see if the 24bit sounds even better..

I haven't even made use of the better audio playback yet. The 16gb limitation of the phone has me stuck. And Play Music, while excellent, won't stream my flac files.

Awfull
I received my LG G2 yesterday with Quadbeats 2 and I must say they are the worst in-ear I've ever tried.
They probably go to the trashcan, nobody would want them.
I've tried with all the plug sizes, and the medium size fits really well, but the sound...:crying:
If I raise the volume to 40%, just when you are expecting to "feel" the bass, the sound will start to break up, just like a couple of busted speakers.
My set must be broken, since I can not see how this would be an improved version of Quadbeats, since they are utterly crap.
Given the general overall opinion on them from other sites as well is positive, then yes, maybe they were faulty. But to suggest yourself that they may be faulty, but then also say they are crap is contradictory.

QuadBeat 2
hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm having problem with my quadbeats 2. I'm having channel imbalance. left side always louder than right. Is this normal or is my quadbeat 2 spoilt?

Harman Kardon headphones

So, the sales rep at the Sprint store told me that the headphones bundled with the Harman Kardon HTC m8 were great headphones. Since the beats audio headphones that came bundled with the m7 were probably my favorite headphones ever, I decided to give these ones a shot.
Quite frankly, I think they suck. I think they're definitely headed on the right track (ie. +/- volume buttons, pause/end call button & the little sliding piece that can be detached), but these were definitely a miss for me. If I take a single step, these things fall right out of my ears. I've tried every size ear bud that they came with and to no avail; these are pretty much useless to me unless I'm stationary, which is rare. I miss being able to answer my phone with a single button.
What do you guys think of these headphones?
P.S. Anyone want to trade me their m7 headphones for the Harman Kardon ones?

Same here. Maybe we just have...weird ears...lol. The only way they stay in for me is by using the smallest size covers and then jamming them into my ears...which will work for 20 or 30 minutes but they eventually work themselves loose just by the movement of my head. Which is usually a relief since my head has started to hurt from having them jammed in there by then anyway...
Mine are neatly packed up with the rest of my $5- $10 earbud headphones.....

Well... Seeing as I lost my m7 headphones, and am doubtful I'll find another pair that's just as good without spending a pretty penny... I'm just rocking these ones. Even though it's kinda miserable, what is an audiophile to do? Being an audiophile is half the reason I fell in love with the 'one series' in the first place.
But it's nice to know I'm not the only one that feels like they swindled me with some cheap $5 headphones lol...

Well, I've been carrying my studio -quality Sennheisers around with me....not the most convenient nor fashionable of answers but they do sound incredible after manipulating the 7 band equalizer just the way I like it. =)

I'm not sure what those are! But what kind of music do you listen to, if you don't mind be asking?

I had the same problem. What worked for me was applying super glue to the ear buds before using them. The only downside is that I can't seem to get then it off my ears for the last week, which has created some ackward situations at work the last couple days.

**Good** Dubstep (there really is such a thing^^) Or whatever rap collaboration catches my ear for the week(puts on flame-proof mittens).... I listen to a lot of other genres as well but those are my 2 main staples and my production is a mix of the two. =)

Haha nice! I love dubstep myself, but I'll always be a hardcore kid at heart. Anyways, my prerogative for asking you, was to see if you would grace me with your EQ settings haha. I could use some dubstep EQ's.

Truth be told I'm drum and bass at heart, lol. Just haven't kept up with that scene and have yet to find any I like as much as my old school favorites, haha.
Well, what app do you use for music? Also, let me know what Rom you're using and whether you've enabled any audio related kernel tweaks (i'm using several), I'll try to give you something you can plug right in to your setup^^
Lol you came from the MoPho 4g too? Haha, rocked that phone and miss the hell out of the keyboard >.<
Did you know you can fully brick a phone even though it boots up fine and can install any ROM on it? Lol................
Honestly, for the past few months I've found that cheap earbuds that I pick up from Best Buy and such just won't fit my ears properly. At least both at the same time. I've got some $15 Sony earbuds that fit perfectly in my right ear, but the left ear just slips right out, and even when it's nestled in my ear as snug as possible, I get absolutely no bass. This was the case with the Harmon Kardon earbuds until like a few days ago, when they just magically started fitting my ears pretty nicely. I always, always have to start with the right ear, placing it in a certain way and then pressing it in until it feels practically stuck, then moving onto the left earbud which fits perfectly. Don't know what kinda black magic was preventing me from wearing them comfortably before (I pretty much had the same experience as the Sony ones I mentioned earlier), but now I use them pretty regularly with the standard size covers. Don't know how much they're worth, but the sound is good enough for listening on the go, which allows me to keep my nice headphones at home.
By the way, I wouldn't say this song is straight up drum n bass, but it's definitely influenced by it, even some familiar sounding breaks in it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeJbLw2mK9o&feature=kp
