[Q] Can someone teach me how to port CM to desire C cdma (golfc)? - HTC Desire C

I've been waiting for someone to post a port of cm for my version of my phone but i just can't seem to find anything. And i want to take the initiative to bring my favorite android flavor to my phone.
My phone is rooted and i have a back up of stock.
i would also like to port Ubuntu touch but i guess one step at a time.
i also read the wiki "how to port CM" and i've gotten stuck, i just really don't know what im doing and would like a helping hand.
Thanks for your time.

You need to have the same base to port roms. You cant port a CM10 golfu without a build CM10 golfc

well if that is so. then where are the roms for golfc? or are you talking of the other way around?
other than your confusing answer does that mean not willing to teach/help me?

Change the Ril? and then have a kernel which supports that Ril? @soupmagnet was working on this kind of thing, think it's a lost cause as only like 3 people ever bought a golfc (not sure that even is it's codename tbh)
Just checked soups profile, his bio is legendary xD

Have you got an unlocked bootloader? and have you got a recovery? If so, try flashing my SHTD and then flashing NOPE/Prometheus and tell me what the outcome is.. SHTD has cdma i think..
And Nick, don't try tell me otherwise. If you can flash do it brother!
Edit: Dude, Thank me448 for helping you out, valuable advise right there, click thanks for him... It's what it's there for

Well, after hanging around here for a little while, I learned that you were definitely not exaggerating when you said less than a handful of people have the golfc and want to customize it. I have a new addition to my family, and with the new moderator duties and the Kindle Fire support I already provide, I just don't have the time to devote towards getting a working ROM for just 3 people. The golfc is cheap anyway and I just gave it to my wife because there's not much fun to be had with a phone that is only rooted and still has S-ON. Note to self: Never buy another HTC phone.
I still have a working root for it (Linux) if anyone needs it, but it's just a modified version of Bin4ry's "Root Many Android" (used with permission of course), and anyone with a little scripting knowledge can easily make his exploit work for them on pretty much any OS.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance

There is currnently no official GolfC forum. Since this is a GolfU only 1 or 2 ROMs will work on the GolfC.
Base: I mean a source built ROM with the device tree edited to the according specifics.
There is no device tree for the GolfC Neither is there a base to use because of that fact.
I have no experience in building device trees therefore I don't really have the ability to help you.
You could try SHTD (fuk u Olli <3) but be careful of bricking your device. I heard that installing GolfU recoveries and boot imgs will brick your device.
Make sure you have a backup of the current ones. Please.
If you do something that makes your phone melt or turn into a ring that wants to get melted in a volcano, don't hold me responsible.
I gave you all the information you asked for, if there is anything else go ahead and reply =3
Edit: @soupmagnet Congrats/feels for the new duty dude =3

Um, it can't be done by us, unless you learn to build from source (use google) and learn to configure RILs (google it) then simply no, it cannot be done, bad luck having a CDMA device /: I think that's 2 to the tally of CDMA now..
GSM: 7k+?
CDMA: 2-5

EDIT: Nevermind there is nothing in common with desire c and desire u, if those are the phones. Compiling isn't hard to do but requires patience. I can reccomond some helpful guides if you'd like

[PRJ] CM6 system 8/27/2010 ALPHA

Here is the CM6 system built last night by me. Go ahead and do whatever you want with it. This is for those having issues building. Here it is
www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/froyo.tgz
This is not a ready to flash ROM but just the system folder from the CM6 build for people to play with.
This is for devs looking to play with CM6 which was compiled for the vibrant and not just a generic build. This is NOT A READY TO FLASH ROM. I just built went to sleep and threw this up for people.
Enjoy!

Where was that indicated? There are only two how-tos on the Wiki for CM6 of relevance for Galaxy S/Vibrant: building the CM6 kernel from source, and updating the Galaxy S/Vibrant to CM6. However, the "Full Update Guide" includes the following caveat: NOTE: As of right now CyanogenMod is not available for the Samsung Vibrant.
There are no full instructions on the wiki for building CM6, nor for truly updating a Vibrant since CM6 has not been built for the Vibrant. You will also not find even an alpha release, nor any nightlies.
For those who don't understand why this is the case, or why flashing a ROM through Odin is different than through the recovery console, it's probably best to wait until there is a "one-click" for you ...
so many people are going to download this without realizing that this is for development only and not even for use yet

I semi understand that stuff but know my limits... But a huge THANKS!!! to those who do!!!
Patiently waiting for "one-click"....
Sorry if you took that as a genuine offer of advice, but it was meant as a sarcastic retort. People who don't understand what is technically involved in "rooting", what it means to "mount" a device or where the line between Linux and Android lays really have no basis in asking for aid when things go awry. (Sorry if I offend you, but seriously, you're asking for help in a development thread without knowing about which what you're actually asking for help? Really? Seriously?!)
No one has created a reliable method to fully supplant the Vibrant's recovery console, the OTA package that is normally used to flashed Android devices cannot be properly compiled and packaged for the Vibrant, users are still having issues building an AOSP directory structure—let alone a truly usable boot.img—and a complete system replacement is expected?! It really is no wonder why those really building apps and systems for various Android platforms avoid XDA, and leave it to those merely "cooking" as was previously the standard with WinMo.
(When is the interrobang going to be finally accepted as a true form of punctuation?! Really?!)
nice work, seems like a lot of devs are finally on this

People don't stay away from XDA because of the sometimes foolish questions people ask. They stay away because of the way they get treated by pompous d*cks like you that have no tolerance for people trying to learn and enjoy their devices more.
Everyone starts out without a clue and without help from others we'd all still be drooling on ourselves and sh*tting in our diapers.
Grow up and help out... or just go away.

Porting HTC Sense?

alright, im gonna start by saying im still a novice dev, but i would really like to make some kind of port of HTC Sense. if anyone could point me in the right direction? a tutorial perhaps?
Not to discourage you though but I'd like you to read this post.

You can ask these people, they are working on porting sense to SGS2, the thread is active and quiet recent (Not old dead thread) and they even have IRC channel where you can discuss and have tips and pointers to start with

[Q] Messed up flash what do I do next

I have a friends LG 2X and it was originally on froyo then i officially upgraded to gingerbread then unofficially uses smart flash to flash the ICS KDZ file and now I can't flash anythink including every version of clockworkMOD! please advise me on what to do! I'm going to try repartitioning with the "NEW" partition table.
more info: its randomly factory resting and rebooting, being really slow and sluggish and generally useless

I can give you a big list to try.....almost 95% of them are stable.....but you have to try it yourself and find out. 2013 is one of the best years for O2X for having a variety of ROMs....CM based, Stock based, PAC, and so on
nothing is wrong....be proud of this device which is almost unbrickable......so recover it and start enjoying it.

Rom port

Is there an easy way to port a ROM to my phone like maclaw does? I have read many guides in the forum about this and they say that I can just copy-paste some files from the stock rom to the one I want to port but will the ROM work? Can someone provide a guide?

That was the post I read. I wasn't sure that it would work for s3 mini. So I can download ANY official custom ROM like CM and port it? Will it work flawlessly or will it have bugs?

I think you can port any rom for our device, but be aware that some things may don't work. Well you need to read some more stuff to learn more (don't take me wrong), I think you know that can be a little complicated & you don't need to build or port, whatever, in 5 minutes right? Take a bit longer to do some really good. Well I wish you good luck.

OK thanks but I am a little noob to make roms a year ago I bought my first android s3 mini and I think that in this period I have learnt many things! I will try with a ROM but I don't think that I will succeed.
Most important maybe, make sure you replace boot and that mount points are correct in updater-script

[Q] Port HTC One ROMs

Hello all devs and HTC One users. I've been searching a lot on XDA, Google and all over internet but couldnt find a better place to post this. I just got a HTC Butterfly S and wish to use CM, Paranoid, Carbon or ANY other rom which I can use CM Themes Engine and have an AOSP look. I had a HTC Sensation before, and loved everything I had using CM ROM.
I wished some dev here could port any of this ROMs to this device, I know is not an easy job. I already tried to do such work, but all tutorials, guides and etc on XDA refer to a BASE ROM, and my device is unsupported, so I cant have a base ROM to port. I know M7 has almost the same specs as ButterflyS, so maybe is a little easier.
I hope someone can help me, because I THINK I did all I can. Thanks :good:
--EDIT--
I'd like to know how XDA works with hiring devs to do such work, I can donate money, it will be not for free. Thanks
PS: Sorry for my bad english.

We dont "hire" devs. Development starts from the people that use the device. Even big name roms will not work on a device that someone on the team doesnt own.
So your best bet would be to find someone with the device, Then track down all the kernel and device source code.
