No hepatic touch vibration - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have noticed that my note 3 no longer vibrates when touching the soft keys. I have the hepatic touch vibration on soft keys enabled. I have set the intensity to max setting. It was working and it just stopped. Rebooting did not fix the issue. Any ideas on how to get it back?

Your battery went below 20% and it automatically turned on power save mode haha.. Same thing happened to me, go to settings, power save, and uncheck the box to turn it on automatically.

Mines at 50 and it doesn't vibrate when I touch the soft keys like my s4 does

Hepatic feedback? I'd hope not, lol. My liver is just fine without Samsung.
Haptic is the word you were looking for.

Screen randomly getting dim

I have auto brightness off, auto adjust screen tone off and brightness set to max. My screen randomly dims and then gets bright again...anyone know what's causing this?
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Hmm is it this adapt display option maybe?
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Same here then I went into my settings to check the brightness (settings, display, brightness) and it said brightness decreased to prevent over heating or something like that ..check it next time you notice it dimming and see if it's the same thing ..pretty annoying

power saver uses the dimming option for low consumption of battery and make sure auto adjust is off in display settings

I'm willing to bet adapt display

Power saving isn't on. Adapt display didn't fix it either

I have everything turned off also ..I checked in my settings every time my screen dimmed and every time the same message ..it was driving me nuts for days (still is)

I've had this happened to me also.
It seems to be more frequent when I'm using Chrome ( not stock browser ). It suddenly gets dim and then may or may not eventually brighten up again, it's pretty random
Also happens when I'm on the launcher but not as frequent
- Automatic Brightness / Off
- Screen Mode / Professional Photo
- Power saving mode / Off
- Auto adjust screen tone / Off
Is there something else I may be missing?
It happens to me while using the xda app. Annoying as hell. It has the same message as Melissa

Does anyone know if this processor does thermal throttling? That could possibly trigger a power save dim with overheating. If we get root this can be disabled using trickster mod.

The Otimus G Pro had a setting in the hidden menu to disable thermal throttling.

Will do, you as well plz :good:
Thought this was an issue with my phone when I got it from AT&T yesterday. Glad to know it isn't just me. It seems to only have the issue when I am in a low-lite area (at least on mine) but when I am in an area with good lighting and the back light is 75% or more it doesn't dim nearly as much. Would be interested to see what a fix would be for this.

The service mode is brought up by typing *#0011# in the dialer on this phone but aside from that i havent had a chance to mess around in there. I do know that key imput 1 doesnt bring up the main menu anymore.

So I've been having this issue and noticed it like two days ago, and reading all your responses I looked through and noticed I had one of the features that I thought I turned off. Smart Stay says that it starts to turn the screen off when we look away maybe it's a buggy feature (one I never intended to use but it might be the one doing this dimming thing (being one of the first steps to turn off the screen)

Wake Up Lag? Is there a fix?

Whenever I try to turn on my screen, it takes a second or two to turn on. It seems like it sleeps and then wakes up.
I want to know if there's a fix for it. I'm on MJ5 firmware if that matters.
I have the same issue! I tried factory reset 3 times but still the same...... The weird thing is its not all the time.... I have also had the issue of no screen timeout but rebooting fixes that issue! When I was on ml1 DE LA Vega root I had none of these issue! I should have stayed on that.......

i hope they fix it with the next update
although theres wake up lag, the phone doesnt lag at all
Note 10.1 has same issue.

With the note 2 I had always heard the lag was related the the exynos going into such a deep sleep that it had to literally wake everything back up. Obviously that claim was bull**** lol

My screen wakes up instantly. Are you using your home button to wake the screen? If so, the problem is S-Voice. The solution is to disable "use home button to launch s-voice". To do this, double tap the home button/menu button/settings/disable home button.

Mine is also instant. is there something wrong with your hardware? might want to go exchange it, you should have a year warranty.
There is nothing wrong with my hardware.... When I was on ml1 it's was instant now on mj5 every once in a while it lags to wake up!

Haptic Feedback is not working??

I have the settings turnt on in settings but it it's not vibrating when I press the keys on the bottom like it should. Anyone having this issue and kno how to fix it??

Be sure you don't have power saving turned on.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Thank you very much that was why it wasn't working. I'm guessing it's bad to have power saver turned on because it effects some stuff on the phone but anyways that's part of saving the battery.

Power button is giving out

My power button is giving out and I was just wandering if anyone else is having this issue? It still gives a tactile click but requires it to be pressed a hard enough or a certain way. Makes it difficult to take screenshots lol but I'm making do with what I have right now as I can lock with double tap status bar and screenshot with the qs tile on nougat. Anyways, let me know about your problems.

there are a few apps that you can power on your phone with the volume buttons, worked great on my Nexus 5 when the power button took a dump after having to press it hundreds of times because of the boot loop bug
