For anyone not comfortable with command line and/or pushing files there is now a universal init.d installer app. Just install the app, Activate the installation and run the check to make sure it worked. This is very helpful for tablets like ours where we need to install our own tweaks because we don't have roms or custom kernels.

Hi I just rooted my Z1 using KingoRoot APK app and I installed Lucky Patcher to install Floating Fake Location as "system app". The thing is, I cannot uninstall Floating Fake Location afterwards using tools like Root Uninstaller Pro,KingoSuperUser etc. At first I thought it was Floating Fake Location issue but soon I realize I can't even uninstall other Sony bloatware such as Socialife, Xperia Lounge etc.
Please enlighten me why I can't uninstall system app even tho I am rooted.
P/S: it may have something to do with my root (partial? as I didn't unlock my bootloader), as I can't even mount r/w using root explorer or any other app that can mount r/w on /system.

You also need to instal Supersu, which is an interface for granting root. Then you will be able to delete system apps.

I am using Kingo SuperUser to grant the apps root permission. Had some trouble replacing Kingo SuperUser with Chainfire SuperUser but I figured Kingo should've done the trick as well. When I mount Kingo did prompt me for permission and I allowed it, somehow I think the root is incomplete ?

Does your device have recovery installed? You can delete system apps through it: mount /system through XZ Dual Recovery's TWRP and delete the folder with the app's apk inside. You could also try flashing a SuperSU zip this way to fix root, but make sure you don't use the systemless version.
I suggest you next time don't use kingroot or any one-click root: though uncomplicated, they're notorious for being untrustful, leaking private IMEI information to unknown servers, and unreliable. Read THIS thread thoroughly, re-root using the method in the 2nd post, and upgrade to 5.1.1, or get a pre-rooted FTF through XperiFirm.

No I haven't installed any custom recovery.
Cause I am already using 5.1.1 so I figured Kingo Root is the easiest way to go, didn't know it will cause so much trouble. So basically I need to unroot then root again using the "proper" method? I am already on 5.1.1 btw.

The fact that you can't install Supersu and get root indicates that your phone is not fully rooted. I bet you wouldn't be able to install recovery either for the same reason...
Do the classic rooting, install TWRP and then flash any pre-rooted stock rom you want...

I suspect I am not fully rooted as well. Can you point me a direction towards "classic" rooting my my Z1 5.1.1 ? Almost every post I went points me back to one-click-root solution.
I have the same problem, it's because we can't remount /system to rw ("operation not permitted"), so the update to SU isn't working as well, tried several different methods with terminal emulator but without any luck. Neither will total commander help in this situation. I'm begining to lose hope

Exploit maybe works with 5.1.1, but if not, downgrade your firmware to 5.0.2, use Easyroot to exploit, then upgrade back.
The "classic" root I was referring to requires downgrading from Sony's Lollipop/Kitkat FW to Jellybean due to Sony patching the exploits in the newer FW used for rooting. The steps are outdated now and is replaced by Easyroot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688933

It simple runs virtually.. use like a separate folder, it helps about compatibility, and performance!

Ok.. and what about custom rom and unlocked bootloader?
The devs are patching the custom roms with signatures, to spoof and pass the safetynet...
They are also working with bootlooader flag. It's possible to mask your bootloader state in most cases...
Other option is to buy a phone from a manufacturer that allow easily unlocking the bootloader without encriptation. Like OnePlus One unlocking process.

Is it possible to temporarily disable root on SuperSU????
I can't log into Snapchat, Pokemon Go (there's a new update okay...), or Android Pay with SuperSU root, and a full unroot would be a good amount of work, plus I don't even know if they'll continue to work if I reroot.
I tried unchecking "Enable superuser" and that seems to get rid of the root permissions but doesn't yield any results on those apps.

First, I'm a noob with some experience!
I know how to root my phone with Magisk and I helped Jen to root the LG G4 Vigor (H731) for Videotron/Telus. She was working on the H735 if I'm not mistaken but it worked for mine too since it's the same phone without the same name. It was with SuperSu, I don't think Magisk was out at this time.
Well... at that time I bought Busybox Pro... I don't know why except everyone had it!!
I'd really like some explanation. I searched for at least 4 days, 1-4 hours per day and it was a LOTS of different things! I'm really confused about the difference between Busybox and Magisk, expect Magisk is SystemLess.
I can install "add-ons" with Magisk like Xposed!!
I really don't know what I can do with Busybox except installing "things" but are those "things" are like a module in Magisk/Xposed?
P.S. I know that if I install Xposed in Magisk, it become systemless like Magisk!
And! I know that I can install Busybox from Magisk! But I bought the Busybox Pro app from Google Play Store.
Can someone tell me all those differences? I'm really messed up and really need help +++ I think a good explanation could help lots of others than me.

Busybox is just a set of tools that some apps/programs/processes/etc use. Magisk actually has its own internal Busybox that it uses for a lot of things, but it's not exposed to the rest of your system, which is why you need to install a separate Busybox if something about your setup needs it. It used to be more common that a separate Busybox installation was needed, but nowadays not so much, since most apps that need it already come with their own version of it to ensure compatibility. I actually had the same question. I've rooted a few of my devices already. And years back I've also bought some apps via Play-Store. But a lot of these apps seems to be dated and not maintained annymore.
For instance I've bought a few apps from JRummy back then, from which I still use Busybox and Rootchecker nowadays. But this bussybox seemed to be quite dated when looking to the last update moment.
I'm using Magisk now and I was thinking going to use it's integrated Busybox too. Can it just work next to each other? Or do I need to unstall the JRummy Bussybox before?

You can activate and use busybox by typing or copy and paste the busybox magisk location. Such as
/data/adb/magisk/busybox xz -d /storage/emulated/0/Download/root.img.xz
This is the busybox command to decompress xz archive.. as long as your root with busybox no need to install unless an application requires it.
