I bricked my Kindle Fire HD recently and was hoping that there was a way to enter fastboot on it without purchasing a fastboot cable. I don't have the money to buy one either. I have the img files and everything else needed. Thank you for your reply.
You will have to make one if you can't afford one, or try jumping two points on the motherboard with a wire. Fastboot cables are pretty cheap though, only around 5-15$.

Do you know how to jump 2 points on the motherboard with a wire? if so could you point me to a guide?

Lawlz I would rather not do that. Do you know how I can make a Fastboot Cable? I have about a million cables for the device. So could you lead me to a guide that I can use to make one with. If I take the device apart the chances of me breaking it is even higher.
If you don't have a soldering iron this could be very difficult to do by jumping a wire.... I believe Samsung cables are recommended because not all cables have a spot on the PCB for pin 4, and Samsung's typically do.

Buy a fastboot cord for 10 bucks. Meanwhile install ADB drivers and Kindle Fire FirstAide.
When the cord gets to you, run KFFA and restore to 7.2.3 and root and remove OTA updates all from KFFA.
You'll restore to 7.2.3 so you will have a nice matching boot.img to use from Hashcode's thread when you go to flash a 2nd bootloader and custom rom.

Maybe the face palm will fix your eyes so you can read the many other posts posted on here dealing with this issue. Like the part that recommends having a fastboot cord before messing with your tablet. Or how to UTMFSE to find the pin out diagram to make your own fastboot cord.
I wouldn't waste ten dollars on a fast boot cable till I needed one if your careful and all goes right there is no need for one and even at that I'd rather make one than pay for it given I have a Samsung cable.
I grant you I used one but just because I felt like making one. Didn't even use it for a few months

Well after i opened cable up, I realized I don't have any Solder. LOL. I have a Soldering Iron, but no Solder. So now I just wasted my time practically until I can get solder.

Quick question. Before I purchase a charger for the kindle fire had I was wondering if it was ok to use one from a different device such as a cell phone. I have 5-6 different wall chargers that would work and I would hate to waste money if those would be ok and not harm my new device. Thanks

Some chargers are more powerful than others, just keep that in mind.
Hey Guys, i just got my brand new Kindle Fire HD 7'' just a few hours ago. Didn't do anything much on it, didn't even install drivers on my pc for it. i just connect it through WiFi and that's about it. i got a problem when putting in my email, so i guess i just put it in wrong so i was goin to try back later. When i came back to the Kindle, it was just at the boot screen ("kindle fire") and its been there since. I tried draining the battery, i also tried the hold down for 20 seconds but still no prevail. Guys i need your help i just got it. I live in Trinidad and returning the thing from amazon is a pain. it cost a lot of money to send it back. so help me out here guys thanks. :crying:
I am gonna guess a failed amazon ota update?
It sounds like you are gonna have to use the recovery software and a factory cable (usb with pins 1 and 4 shorted together)
And flash it back to stock, since a return to amazon is out...

Last night, i was using the Kindle Fire First Aide to restore my kindle fire hd to 7.2.3. After it downloaded the files, it failed on one when flashing. All was fine though. I rebooted back to normal mode and it booted fine, i was using the Kinology rom. I then factory resetted my kindle and after rebooting, it now bootloops all the time.
My question now is, do i need a factory cable in order to fix my kindle fire hd or is it bricked??

Power off the kindle, plug cable into Kindle, plug cable into computer.

Every once and awhile when i restart my KFHD 7 it will go to the Fast Boot Icon even though there is no cable plugged into it at the time. It becomes very difficult to get it out of fast boot mode and restart. Any suggestions on how to get this to stop?
I would take it apart and inspect the usb connections I'm betting you spilled something or a wire is shorting pins 1 and 4 together either inside the usb connector oron the boards solders

Thanks, for the reply. I cleaned it out, doesn't seem to be a speck of dirt in there. Restarted it a couple times and on the third restart it went to the fast boot screen.

Have you used the fastboot cable before? Flashed a custom 2nd-bootloader? If so, I would recomend redoing the process o ensure that everything is correct.

So i plugged the fastboot cable and again started it in fastboot mode. Then closed out and unplugged. That seemed to do the trick. It hasnt come back since
I posted a thread earlier asking how to flash the Kindle Fire HD, and now I have bricked it, I read another thread that there was no way to fix it,
I followed SgtTom123's videos on youtube but then clicked on the wrong one and used the Kindle Fire Utility and used fire fire fire, the device does not boot now.
Any suggestions?
Sorry no. At this point in time there is no simple fix to this. In all honesty with the age of this device now and price of devices going down I doubt there will ever be a service to fix it unless someone does it for the community.

Kurohyou just released the pin outs on the 8.9" kindle motherboard for the emmc, so we should have the pin outs for the 7" soon enough which means we can fix it, we just require enough skill to solder some points on the motherboard to wires soldered to a USB sdcard reader. From there we can reflash the boot loader using the dd command from an Ubuntu live CD.
