Got mine to install. That app is probably one of the best things to happen to this device!! I liked the watch before, but that customizable watch faces makes it fuggin awesome.

Yes, The Watch Styler app can do the watch face (created by your own or created by the templates).
You need to create, apply to Gear. That's it!
Is that clear? or any more point still in question?

there does seem to be unnecessary steps to make it happen, but that's because you're using 3 apps on 2 devices to make it happen...
But it works just fine for me on the first try
Quick question, I have created several watch faces but sometimes, I pick the picture in the styler, resize to as large as possible the section I want but, when I hit the watch preview, the picture is too small and fits about 50% of the watch face.

HERE is might the final solution for you to make it possible.
1. Connected GEAR + Your device
2. [On you device] : go the Gear manager > Clock, then click on the 'setting icon' after the WatchStyler, then click on the watch face you like. [Apply/OK]
3. [On you GEAR] : go to Setting > Clock, then Clock Type : now you choose the 'watchstyler'.
That's it! Now you see your selected watch face.

Thanks for taking care of that ba_hamilton. Attached is an update zip (another 70 icons). There's some obscure icons in there but I'm getting through them in order of when the other set versions were made. The updates are included in the OP zip.
I'm trying to get in touch with docsparks to see about an when he has time to put together the APK but haven't heard back yet. He's a busy guy so it may be a few more days.

My watch arrived today , first as always with anything I wanted to modify it, I didn't find many watch faces in the playstore, and checking this forum and finding it empty, but friend of mine with a 360 pointed me to an app called facer, check it out, most faces are for 360 but they work fine on ours, until this themes and apps thread gets filled up anyway, there's also a good site for faces called facerepo,

on the facer app, and in the repo there are now a lot of G watch R faces http://www.facerepo.comwhen you go to install once it will tell you if its a moto one but they usually work fine.

It might be that they'll look just good. Those faces are basically just .zip files. If you open one and look what's in there. At least one (background) image on images folder (without file extension, but when renamed to .png you can open it). None of these images have been rounded as far I have checked.
Also there is this watchface.json file. IF there even is way to make face just for Moto 360, it has to be in watchface.json (but I somehow doubt it). Then there is this preview image, which is screenshot from Moto 360 or done in some photo editing software to have that flat tyre - if I'm right.
So I'm believeing - without owning this device (yet) - that they'll look just fine on LGGWR.
Most 360 watches work fine, the only gripe is that they usually come with a bezel, where as ours has one already, but now with the increase in the release of the watch I'm sure we will see more faces

i can only second that most of the artists never bother to specially cut out the lower section, at least i didnt bother i always made a full circle, the previevs on facerepo just cut the lower section out if the template is for moto360 but the full image is there

Me too, but i'm screwed as i'm in europe, so probably no xmas surprise -.-
I wonder if there's a way to activate the apps without the Gear vr. Maybe connecting it to the pc and running a application. I'll have to check out there development forum. That way we could find a way to run it on other headsets.

A short book could be written answering those questions. A better question would be what brought you to post in this thread?
As for useful? Not right now. It's an entertainment device. Is a gameboy useful? But it has a (limited) purpose. Only you can decide if it is something you want or not

The Gear VR is the best available mobile VR experience you can get at the moment, which you can actually call a proper VR experience which surpasses the Oculus Rift DK1 and rivals even the DK2 in some regards but those Rifts are wired and need a powerful PC to work properly.
As for describing a VR experience that you will have to probably experience for yourself.

For me it's the killer application to be able to watch movies on a huge virtual cinema screen (bigger than i would ever be able to buy a TV or could put in my flat) when i'm on the couch, in bed, on the toilet , in a hotel, on a plane, ect.

What did You exactly do to get this Window? Looks interesting. Seen that Feature on the Hazy ROM some weeks ago... Also interesting , CABL Settings... i'm playing for a long time with CABL and AD . But the G5 is my first Device with a Control App for it. Really Cool!

Anyone figured out a way to get your battery % on the always on display. Seems like a no brainer to include, idk why its not there....
Switched on the "mini view", but not working for my G5.

It's in settings/battery but only percentage in text next to the icon

If you install Battery Widget Reborn from Play Store, you will have the battery in the always on display.
Take a look at the pic.

I've installed the app and can't find that setting anywhere - or the small screen one?
I couldn't find the analog clock in any hidden settings on a H830, but it could be a difference in the T-Mobile variant.

I have used this feature in G2 / G3 not in G4 as its need to be put in to use in G4 its ONE HAND UI aka Mini View.
Can somebody post how to access this hidden menu ?

That's my point. It's still there in G5 firmware.

Use an app (there's one I linked in the previous post) to find shortcuts. Most are buried in settings so scroll down to settings.
Can anybody post how you find mini view? I know about app, but do you use a search or what? I can't find this activity in my settings.

It's inside the settings app. Use quickshortcutmaker to search through the settings app.
It doesn't work unfortunately but there's tons of weird stuff in there. Lots of hidden settings and the likes.

It works for you because you are signed in in your own account... You need to Right click on a file and "get a shareable link"...
