Playing MC4 using the wired xbox 360 controller - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I just bought MC4 and it's pretty cool, but I don't like the touch controls. So I connected my wired Xbox 360 Controller via USB-OTG and I can move, shoot and reload but I can't look around, so my right stick doesn't work.
I already tried to copy custom keylayouts for the Nexus 10 to my XZ but it didn't helped..
Then I tested USB Joy Center demo, but there worked nothing, I couldn't move or shoot anymore.
Is there a way to get the right stick working? Maybe with a custom layout?

no way?

I am still searching for help.

GTA 3 and wireless 360 Controller

I have the 360 adapter that I use via the OTG cable. It works, but kind of?
I can scroll and access menus just fine, but no such success in game. Any ideas?
Have a similar problem with my ps3-wireless sixaxis controller... also connected via usb-otg... walking and driving works - but not perfect: f. e. viewing (up & down) is inverted - and you can't press the horn :'(

I hate when someone says something "works" but doesn't elaborate. It would help many people out.
Post your setups guys so that we can get our GTA on this weekend.
I wonder if my WiiMote controller would work.....
I have tried 2 generic wired game pads and a wired sidewinder joystick, all work with my emus, but not for GTA. Just walking/steering like mentioned before.
Same here, many pads but no one working with GTA

I'm going to try Droidmote right now. Droidmote Client is free and Droidmote server is $2.10 in the market. You install the client on your phone (hopefully it's an Android) and the server on your tablet.
Theoretically you should be able to use your phone as a remote for GTA. I will try it and then post my configuration. I hope this works.

[Q] xbox wired controller not working with i9305

I have an i9305 (optus) running Ripper Rom v3 and I am having trouble getting my wired xbox 360 controller to work through usb otg.
I heard that in GTA3 and Dead Trigger it was supposed to just work, but i can only use it to look around... and the buttons do weird things.
I bought and tried the USB/BT Joystick Center 6 app and all the buttons seem to work in that, so the controller/OTG cable should be working fine.

The xbox controlle won't work natively, thats incorrect, you have to use a program called USB / BT joycenter
Start with that and all should be well.

SIXAXIS PS3 Controller w/ NESOID/SNESOID

Got my Nexus 7, rooted, and setup the Sixaxis app with my PS3 controller. It works great with epsxe, but when I try to use the controller with NESOID or SNESOID, I can't seem to figure out the mapping issue.
Is anyone successfully using a PS3 Sixaxis controller with their Nexus 7 and NESOID/SNESOID? I'd love to know how you got the keys mapped properly.
Try using RetroArch, it's a whole bunch of emulators built into one. I don't have time to test out my controller right now, will probably do that tomorrow at lunch.

Hit your settings button, Settings> Other Settings, and make sure under "User Settings" that "Use input method" is checked in the individual emulator (like NESoid).
Once it is you can map it under Input Settings> Key Mappings by just pressing the buttons. Make sure in the Sixaxis app you have hit the "Change IME" button and set it to the Sixaxis controller. It works perfectly for me on NESoid, SNESoid, and GENsoid across all my devices.
Thanks, that worked. What was throwing me off is that when you go to map the keys, it says <unknown> instead of the key. Still worked, though. Rocking.

Thanks for the tip. I had set this fine once, but after data wiping I forgot how to set up again. Back to normal...
ok im having a little trouble with six axis and some emulators here perhaps you guys can help me. ive been able to map most of them pretty well but i am having a hard time with gbcoid and snesoid not mapping my start and sometimes select buttons correctly. i can get everything else to work but when i press the two center ones nothing happens. I end up having to touch the screen to use these and that can be a hassle. Any suggestions on how to map it so i can get full function out of this controller?
hi guys..

No, i've tried both the xbox controller and the ps3 and none work, both with six axis app or usb bt center. I'm afraid it looks like everyone will have to wait until a custom kernel comes out that supports it.
This is an age old sense thing which has been happening since the days of the Hero, trust me i remember.
A vanilla rom and or a kernel that supports it. I think with sense it's only happened a few times where someone has been able to get it to work. I think on the Desire HD, but i might be wrong about that.
It's a real shame as it's one of the features that i was looking forward to, MHL out whilst playing tekken 3

[Q]GT-i9305 connecting Xbox 360 Gamepad/Controller

Hello XDA Community!
I own a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 (Android 4.4.4). When I connect my xbox 360 controller with an OTG cable, nothing happends. I've tried to connect it before I start a game and while in game. It only starts blinking and nothing else happends. I can connect a keyboard/mouse to my OTG cable and it works like a charm. Is this a common problem? Can I fix it somehow? I've tried to follow some post which led me to download .kl files which I put in /system/usr/keylayout but it didn't change anything. I really want this to work.
Is there noone with any knowledge about this problem?
Hello. Your phone may not be powerful enough like a tablet to be able to run Xbox 360 controller.
And most of the game will support this out of the box without configuring like on PC games.

Well, in this video you can see it works with the i9300, I have the i9305.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZ-xnzYVLA
And I can see my controller show up and read button activity inside "USB/BT JoystickCenter GOLD".
Basicly I think the controller communicates with my phone, but my phone doesn't understand since it's missing something?
Yes it's funny as I also got the samr model as you. Did your controller flashed rapidly like mine did? Left/Right bumper should swipe to different pages and the d-pad should select the icons you work. This didn't work either.
Try a Bluetooth controller maybe?

Mine flashed rapidly (like they always do.) and my problem is also that my bumpers doesnt swipe pages or select any icons. I have no bluetooth controller and I can get x360 controller to work with apps, such as USB/BT Joystick Center GOLD. But I dont want that, I need "native support" or w/e you want to call it. I want it to work with limelight to play games.
