[GUIDE] How to root LG Optimus L5 on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - Optimus L3, L5, L7 General

PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK! WORKED 100% FOR ME!
OK, so this guide will allow you to root your Android Device in minutes. This has also been confirmed working for L5 on ICS.
Instructions:
1) Ensure you have more than 50% battery power.
2) Take your settings and go to Developer Options.
3) Enable USB debugging.
4) Download the beauty which roots your device (attached below)
5) Connect Phone via USB, and select Charge Only.
6) Open vRoot.
7) Wait till it detects your device (ensure you have all the drivers installed).
8) If not detected, click the green button.
9) Once your phone is detected, click the green button again[ROOT].
10) There will be a lot of Chinese and you will see in English [ROOT].
11) Your phone should now reboot.
12) Congratulations. Your Android is now rooted. Check the Superuser installed! :good:
Please hit the thanks button if this helped you!
PS: I AM NOt THE PERSON WHO DEVELOPED VROOT. IT IS DEVELOPED BY A GROUP OF CHINESE DEVELOPERS! I CANT POST THE LINK TO THE WEBSITE SINCE I AM A NEW MEMBER! YOU CAN GOOGLE VROOT TO KNOW ABOUT THEM!

I prefered to us "cydia impactor" because it is in english, and created by a well-known developer.
link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448085
"cydia impactor" is made by Saurik, well known into iOS Development/Hacking creating and manteining Cydia...
it should support all E610/12 firmware from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2(until v20d)
If you are on V20G or V20I you need to flash a pre-rooted kdz or try something else like "towelroot" release by geohot
After you get root remember to install SuperSu

it is maked by the creator of cydia on ios
it work great, i used it to root my l5 with 4.1.2

I can say by experience that AXD96's solution only works the first time you root your phone. If you lose root, it won't work again. I think this is because the method uses an exploit that is already patched on most new ROMs

Both tools should use MASTERKEY exploit so there should be any differences between the two tools, by i prefer impactor because it is english, vroot make me crazy with that chinese lines

thx dude
FINALLY!!! ROOTED MY L5!!!
This is the only guide that worked for me!!! THANKS MAN!!
All other sites had the method for ICS!!!

Thx

Mb886 atrix 3 hd rooted! Thanks
Not that the warranty if expired, i used the motochopper to root. It worked very well and super easy! The one thing is that i had to do a partition clear and a factory data reset before it worked.. Which was fine. Now im sitting in awe trying to think about what all i want to do.
First thing i did was installed titanium backup. Then downloaded root app delete, which is a really nice free app to (delete system apps) it has a safety feature for novices like myself.
Just wanted to say thanks a million!
Now that ive tested it on mine ill do my moms.

don't worry, the link I posted contains the same files ,but I think this method is the simplest.
1º Getting root, flash this file via stock recovery (shutdown your phone and push HOME+POWER button until you can access to stock recovery mode)>>> select "apply update from SD card" and flash this file ROOT
Boot intro android and then shutdown again and go to stock recovery again (HOME+POWER button to access)
2º CWM recovery >>> select "apply update from SD card" flash this file CWM 5.0.2.6. FIX
Physical buttons
VOLUME+/- to move through recovery mode
HOME to acept install the select file
POWER to go back
DONE!

C. Flashing the newest firmware:
Turn off your phone
Remove your SIM Card and SD Card
Extract previously downloaded firmware
Open ODIN 4.38 on your PC and change OPS file name to
Code:
Cooper_v1.0.ops
Select from extracted archive: OPS-OPS, Boot-APBOOT, Phone-MODEM, PDA-CODE, CSC-CSC (leave EFS and One Package empty)
If archive contains only <filename>.tar.md5 select it as PDA and OPS as OPS, leave other fields EMPTY
Connect your phone via USB into PC
When the screen is turned on hold POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME and wait until the phone enters the Download Mode
If ODIN detected and recognized your phone should light up the first square to the left side
Press "Start" button and wait, the process should take ~5 minutes
If all goes well your phone should reboot automatically
Square should change the color to blue and display "PASS" it means that flashing process was successful and we have the newest firmware
Disconnect your phone
Turn off your phone
Insert your SIM Card and SD Card again
Turn on your phone
Now you have the newest firmware!
You can find latest firmwares HERE, IMO Spanish FOP rom (KTM 2.3.6.) is the best, but can choose what you want

Hey bud , unfortunately if you have oreo u cannot update. There are many apps you can try yourself like kingroot. But there is not possivle way of rooting it unless u get into hacking your phone , then i recommend going by this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g6/help/starting-scratch-t3837452
Other than that i there is no way to root,at least not yet.

If you have an H872, then all you have to do is follow this. Read it several times to make sure you understand, and Google videos if needed to make sure you understand. @pena020563 gave you the answer you need, albeit in a cryptic manner - his link will eventually take you to the link I supplied above. And I don't know why he even mentioned Kingroot. The method I am linking you to is, as far as I know, the only way to root an H872. Don't bother with anything else.
Had you looked just a little harder, you know...scrolled down a quarter of the page, you would have found the link I gave you all on your own.
Good luck!

they claim support g6, but no one ever proof it. The last time kingroot is really useful is when Android Lollipop era after Marshmallow they don't have good exploits to install root in system. Many has been patched.

what's your problem with this xda guide? I think it's simple enough but you have to carefully understand what you have to do (just read carefully). If you don't want to leave windows you can use virtual machine (which I believe is more complicated to setup and need more PC resources).

You're the 3rd person to link to that guide. The OP is lazy.
