how to install busybox? :) - HTC Butterfly S

hello. i have flashed stock rom (1.23.708.3),and i want to use xposed statusbar. so the problem is whenever i wanr to apply the change in xposed statusbar,it directed me to playstore and ask me to install busybox.
so i went to install the busybox.apk from playstore, and then i open the apps, and try to install using smart install & normal install to the xbin, but both of them were unsuccesful.
my Butterfly s went to reboot but still cant use xposed status bar because busybox not installed.
and btw i already installed and updated the xposed framework.
can someone please explain to me how to install it? tq

The problem is most likely that the Butterfly S has some kind of write protection in place on the /system filesystem. You can circumvent this by installing it from recovery, you can use the following package I just built on my Butterfly S and put together:
http://amerhippus.x64.me/~johnny64/901S/busybox-DLXPUL-1.21.1-koniiiik.zip
This build contains just about every tool available in busybox, even those you most probably won't ever need.

Problem installing Xposed since 2.6.1

Hey
I tried to update Xposed FW from 2.60 to 2.61 and when I tried to install the app_process and XposedBridge.jar files via the Framework menu it takes forever and then a notifiation pops up saying I should make sure my phone is rooted and shell commands aren't blocked.
I did nothing to the phone since the last update to 2.60 and every other Xposed update before worked.
I have a rooted Nexus 5 and SUper SU 1.97
Super SU doesn't show a request to approve Xposed rights.
I tried to install an older version of Xposed but that doesnt work.
I cleared the cache of xposed fw and uninstalled, then reinstalled it with several reboots in between. Nothing works.
It keeps saysing xposed is not activated, I should root my phone and that's it.
How can I force SuperSU to ask for root rights for xposed?
Thanks
EDIT: Just saw in the SuperSU log file that it says I need Super SU Pro for Xposed Framework???

Open SuperSU, find "Xposed Installer" and make sure it's set to grant root access. You can also try tapping on "Forget" and you should get asked next time you try to install the framework.

The Problem was SuperSU 1.97.
It seems as the phone will lose root with this version (what would make sense then). In the 1.97 announcement post of Chainfire on Google+ was another comment to version 1.98 which fixes the root loss issue (meanwhile SuperSU is already version 1.99).
Xposed is working again after updating SuperSU.

You don't have to install another one. Maybe old version ViperFX? Make sure you use the version for Android 4.x

yes it is. i can use other apps that need's root. I can use greenify for exemple and other app to remove system apps that i don't need. All off them are working. I install the busybox and it's successful. But when I try to install the driver that Viper ask's it says: driver install failed, the busybox found on your device does not work. this usally means you installed the wrong or broken busybox.

Nope... still not working. I don't know what i'm doing wrong... I really don't want to do this by brute force. That means reinstall rom to see what is going to happen.
I'll try to install previous version from busybox. it can be incompatible or something like that.
Install sd maid app and run it to see if the busybox in your device is ok.
If this app running and don't ask from you to install busybox then it's vipers fault.

SD Maid doesn't check the devices system busybox.
Use a tool like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.rootvalidator for that.
Viper Audio for Android devices
Viper Audio for Android devices can be installed without busybox... Just follow instructions...
1. Download v4a . zip

xposed Installation failed

I just installed Alliance rom on my att gs5. For some reason it won't let me install xposed framework. Help?
I have the same problem with gt-n8013 cyanogenmod rom
"It won't let me install Xposed framework" – how so? Any errors?
I can't submit a screenshot of the error because I don't have many posts. But it says "Failed to create a backup of /system/bin/app_process
There should be an error above/below that line as well? Have you tried installing Xposed via the recovery?
It's a big error. Its a lot to type but tldr it says permission denied. No, how do I do that?

Permission denied? Are you sure you're rooted (if you are, double check that the Xposed Installer is granted root permissions)?
You can install it via the recovery by changing the installation method (press the button).
I have no idea what I did but I tried to install it again and it worked so. Thanks for trying to help but its fixed now haha.
Help
Having trouble with loading Netflix so discovered about the xposed fix for this problem. I tried to install xposed but got the "signature" error message which I believe tells me xposed is already installed. In my "apps", I do not have xposed listed as an installed app. Doing a file search, there are no hits on "xposed". I recently upgraded to latest Beanstalk 4.4.4. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Xposed for RK3288 Devices

Hi, im new here and this is my first post, so i appreciate all the help and feedback you can give me.
im interested in using xposed in android TV Box's and Dongles, i've been reading and learning all about it for more than a month now. i've got it to work on most TV Box's and dongles that i have "RK based devices with android V 4.4 or less",but i still have a problem with one device which is an RK3288 based with android 5.1 that is already rooted.
i used twrp to flash xposed-v86-sdk22-arm.zip which was successful, than i wiped Dalvik/cache and rebooted, but the boot stuck on bootanimation, i disabled xposed by installing the uninstaller.zip and everything went back to normal. i tried it many times but with no use. i noticed that twrp doesnt mount internal SD, i installed an older version of bootloader which gave me the ability to mount the internal Sdcard, and i tried to install xposed again and this time it pass the animation and goes to a black screen where i can use the mouse but nothing else. with some research i found that UT3+ is based on firefly board and their original ROM is available for download and it has the same bootloader version that came installed with the device, after flashing the new ROM i was able to mount the internal Sdcard and i tried to install xposed again, and this time it gives me optimizing apps but after it finish the device reboot and get stuck again on bootanimation.
my question is, if there is a log for errors to know why the system/boot get stuck , where can i find them??
and if there is no logs how can i monitor the booting process to find the info i need??
also i know or read what bootloader is but i dont understand how it is effecting xposed installation.
Sorry for the long post, and thank you for your help in advanced
EDIT: i finally got adb connection with the device and used logcat to get the logs, but im not sure how to attach the files. if anyone can help i will gladly send the logs. thanks
Update 1
i was looking at the logs "didnt know what to search for im not a developer" and i noticed that everything is crashing and "Not granting permission" ,"Unknown permission " are everywhere .
sample of logs:
Code:
"com.google.android.partnersetup.permission.WRITE_APP_PROVIDER in
package com.android.vendingW/PackageManager( 4712): Not granting
permission android.permission.BIND_WALLPAPER to package
com.android.camera2 (protectionLevel=18
flags=0x58bc45)W/PackageManager( 4712): Not granting permission
android.permission.BIND_APPWIDGET to package com.android.launcher3
(protectionLevel=18 flags=0x583e45)W/PackageManager( 4712): Unknown
permission android.permission.READ_SETTINGS in package
com.android.launcher3W/PackageManager( 4712): Unknown permission
com.android.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS in package
com.android.launcher3W/PackageManager( 4712): Unknown permission "
so i decided to root again with KingRoot, and i tried installing xposed again, and it kinda worked. the system boot and the launcher opens but crashing messages keeps showing "Stresstest for 5.0 has stopped running" , "The process com.android.phone has stopped running", and others.
now im not sure about what im doing but i'll test two methods:
1- i will unpake ROM.img put xposed in the root and update the updater script to install xposed when i flash the ROM.
2- the device can run Linux version from SD card so i might run it and manually install xposed files.
if anyone have any tips or info please let me know. thanks
SOLUTION
For those who are having problems with their RK based android TV Box with android 5.1, if you get stuck on Boot animation or the system boots with black screen and you can use your mouse only, or if you getting errors when you boot the main problem would be your firmware is modified and up to Xposed V.86 is not supported because of the error "No implementation found for void dalvik.system.VMRuntime.clam" you can read more about it in this post https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/167.
and luckily dsa8310 made a modefied version of xposed, i tested it and it works you can find the download link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67787484&postcount=325

I can't get to the page with the link. (I get a noob alert) We want to try this xposed on a ugoos ut3s (android 5.1 with a rk3288)
Would someone please be so kind to post it here or tell me where I can download it.
Anyone that can compile Xposed v87 to fix this problem for RK3288 Lollipop devices?
https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/167
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/art/+/379d09fe3c3feb7c2a2fb5a3623689b5ace7e79b
Are there instructions somewhere so we can compile it ourselves?
The code above looks like it needs to be applied to Android source code, what must be changed in Xposed Github code to fix it and compile our own new Xposed only for our devices?
Thanks

Thanks so much
does anyone know if there's an RK3288 enabled xposed v89 built to avoid the issues described by viVaPale? Tried the one from 3.1.5 installer, but after boot it doesn't load the launcher, only mouse can be moved around like viVaPale describes.

[SNAPDRAGON][EXYNOS] ViPER4Android [ZIP][FLASHABLE]

Disclaimer: I will take no responsibility if flashing this zip somehow causes you to go deaf, scares your cat, receiving of noise complaints from your neighbors, development of anti-social behavior, getting hit by a bus, a twerking grandmother, broken windows and/or any other imaginable royally screwed possibility.
Q: Will this work on other Samsung devices?
A: Maybe, I see no reason for it not to work on the S8 or S8+. Feel free to test it out and report back.
Credits: @zhuhang for ViPER4Android FX & XHiFI.
@partcyborg, @me2151, and @elliwigy for hooking us up with root.
Features: Systemwide ViPER4Android FX 2.3.4.0 (higher audio processing than newer versions) and ViPER4Android XHiFi.
Installation steps (make sure to read these before downloading the ZIP):
1) Make sure you're rooted.
2) Download either FlashFire (Snapdragon - thank you, @Chainfire) or install TWRP (Exynos).
3) Install BusyBox, to /system/xbin (otherwise, XHiFi will not work, only FX will).
4) Get Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox PRO, or any similar application.
6) Freeze "Adapt Sound" and "SoundAlive".
5) Flash the attached zip.
6) Grant root permissions to both FX and XHiFi (you might have to uninstall the FX driver within the in-app settings to trigger this, if so, simply reflash the ZIP after having done so and reboot).
7) Reread step six.
8) Profit & enjoy.

Won't installing busybox to system/xbin trip up safety net flagging your device as tampered/rooted? Also, if you have magisk, can't you just install the v4a module right from within magisk? I don't see the point in going through all these extra steps and flagging your device in safety net when you can just install the v4a magisk module. Not trying to be a ****, asking honest questions.
Works perfectly on my T-Mobile N950U! Thanks!

If you have a Snapdragon device, SafetyNet is already tripped due to the nature of the rooting process.
But if you have an Exynos device, by all means, use the Magisk module. This ZIP was intended for the Snapdragon variant (since that's what I have), but works on Exynos variants as well.

Yeah, I used the old busybody version. I just went back to stock after a few hours of messing around with no results. My main reason for root and accepting the 80% battery limit is viper but since I can't get it working I went back to stock for now. Will try again once there is more development. Let me know if you do get it working.

When you guys flashed it with Flashfire, which options did you enable/disable? Mind taking a screenshot of the preflash stage for me? Do you see the Flashfire installation screen? You should be able to see the ZIP flash progress script.
As for those having problems with installing BusyBox, if you're using Stericson's, you have to manually grant the storage permission.

I personally used BusyBox Pro by Stericson (he's an amazing developer), but I did have to manually grant the storage permission first by going to: App info > Permissions > Storage (toggle it on).
If this doesn't work, use BusyBox Installer (warning: it's riddled with ads).
As for Flashfire, try enabling the "mount system read/write" option.

Does anyone on Snapdragon have this and FM Radio working together? Unfortunately, I'm finding I can't run both. I don't know if it's my Viper settings or what. Any input would be appreciated as I don't want to have to choose between the two features if I don't have to
For those who had trouble on snapdragon try using latest Sam fail v2 if possible it works perfect on here if you follow directions. Few key things, disable emulate framebuffer in flashfire and when flashing enable mount read and write system, also make sure you install drivers in both v4a apps to enable root as root access is need for v4a to work properly after unistalling drivers and granting root reflash zip in flashfire to restore drivers and profit

If I remember correctly, there was something that said if you had this trouble, open app, uninstall the driver, Grant the permission, then re-flash the app.
